Is there a fault in ipad 3 charging? Mine has taken 14 hours to reach 85% of battery.

The charging time is very long, 14 hours and it's not even at 100%. Plus the battery runs down in only a few hours. Is this a known fault?

Are you using the AC wall charger? Are you using the iPad while it's charging?
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. The number of apps that run in the background are very few and far between. An app being in the recently used apps bar or dock means just that for the most part - the app was recently used only and is not running.
Have you powered your iPhone off and on and/or tried a reset which is similar to a computer restart since the update was installed?
Are you accessing an Exchange account with the Mail app on your iPhone?

When doing a 'battery replacement' service, does apple replace it with the same quality Ipad? mine has 3G

I learned Apple replaces the whole Ipad when you need a new battery(for a fee) but doesit replace it with the same specs? e.g. memory and 3G capabilities.

You should get an exact replacement.

i left my ipod in a class one day and i thought my teacher would grab it to keep it safe during the weekend just to find out that somebody had taken it and i have a feeling who took it but i would like to know if it is at all possible to track the ipod or see if somebody does have. can the apple store help me track the ipod or not?

You can only track it if you already activated the FindMyiPhone feature (free for 4G iPod) and the wifi is on and the iPod within range of an unsecured wifi spot. I can be defeated by simply restoring your iPod. Apple can't/will not track it. This is what Apple says:

Looking for working iPad 3 Mini Charging Cable

Hello Team,
I Bought a Native Union XL Cable for my iPad 3 Mini in the hope it would have worked but to no avail that’s not the cables fault but maybe Apple, Does anyone know of a charging cable longer than 2 Meters that does work or is Apple going to make a longer cable? Or authorize a company to make a cable, like Belkin, Native Union, Mophie and many other companies.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

I plug it into a socket on the bulkhead but there is only 2 sockets in the cabin but its not the socket that the problem its the cable as if i use the cable that it came with with a multi use plug it works but when you sleep in the top rack its an effort to get out to charge it hence why i bought a 3 meter cable

Is it possible to charge a MINI ipad with a normal Ipad charger? I left my charger at a friends house. I used my husbands ipad charger, it worked but much faster, just worried about harming my Mini ipad....

You won't harm your mini, you can even charge a iPhone from your iPad charger.

It sounds like the drop damage more then just the lightning adapter.
I suggest you take it to Apple and ask them to check it out for you.

I suggest you ask the question you are really trying to discover the answer to; for example:
"I need a new charging cable for my iPad 2. I see there are three different charging cables at the Apple Store. One has a lightning connector. One has a 30 pin connector. The third has an L-shaped connector. Which one (or ones) of these would work for my iPad 2?"

My ipad mini has water damage but when I plug into wall it says to connect to itunes. When I plug into Mac nothing happens. Not even a charging sign and nothing happens with itunes. Computer doesn't recognize it's plugged in.

If moisture got inside, it may have shorted the iPad's electronics.

1. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo
2. Try another wall socket
3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
