  • How could I install a plug in for Aperture?

how could I install a plug in for Aperture?

OK no installer, not nice but not fatal.
I assume you already downloaded the file from the web site. Locate it in the Download folder and double click it. That will extract the plug-in from the zip file.
Now the tricky bit. The Library folder in your Home folder is no longer visible in Lion (thanks Apple ) There are ways around this the easiest is to open Finder hold down the option key and select Go from the menu bar. Your Library folder will be visible in the list of folders shown. Select it.
You are now in the Library folder, select the Application Support folder and then select the Aperture folder.  If you have no other plug-ins installed you will need to create the Plug-Ins folder, do that. In the Plug-Ins folder create the Export folder. That is where you will copy the plug-in to.
So open another Finder window locate the plug-in you extracted from the zip file and drag it to the Export folder. Restart Aperture and the plug-in should be visible in Aperture.
    Good luck.

  • Canon T4i and can't load RAW photos into Photoshop 5.1. Is there an extension or plug in for this?

The question says it all. Trying to load my RAW pictures from my Canon T4i using Photoshop 5.1. It says it does not recognize this version of RAW. Help?
Is there an extension or Plug in?
I remember it used to work until I did an update.

Photoshop 5.x is ancient, from last millennium.  I'll assume you meant Photoshop CS5.1.
The highest version of ACR, the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in, that will run on Photoshop CS5.x, is ACR 6.7.
The Digital Rebel T4i = EOS 650D = EOS Kiss X4i was supported by ACR for the very first time in ACR 7.1, which needs at least Photoshop CS6 to run.
Your recollection is faulty.  You will never be able to open raw files from that camera directly from CS5.1.
You need to look for, download and run the free, standalone Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1 on each and every batch of Canon raw files from that camera in order to convert them into raw DNGs that you can open in your versions of Photoshop and ACR.

  • Does anybody know if and when there will be a plug in for raw files from the Nikon D810? I have lightroom 4

I am considering buying a Nikon D810 but I do not want to be waiting for ages for a plug in for it's RAW files on my Lightroom 4. Does anybody know if and when there will be a plug in? I presume the 8.5 plug in will not cover the cameras Raw file.

There is no plug-in for Lightroom 4 that would ever give you support for the new camera. Lightroom does not use Camera Raw. Camera Raw is a plug-in for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. If you want support for your camera in Lightroom you will need to upgrade to Lightroom 5, and then wait for the 5.6 update which should be available within next few weeks (unless Lightroom 6 is introduced). In the meantime you can use the DNG converter (version 8.6 RC) to create DNG copies of your raw images that you would be able to open in Lightroom 4.

  • Now that HD DVD is dead, is there a Blu-Ray plug-in for compressor 3?

Just wondering if any third party folks have provided a plug-in for compressor 3 (similar to something like Flip4Mac) that would allow burning to Blu-Ray media?
    Thanks, Rob.

    Jon,
I think the rush will start and it will be very much like VHS to DVD. I already know many friends whom I would consider NOT "into" movies, TV, electronics and for the first time they're upgrading from standard TV set to the now very affordable 1080p HD TVs and look to pick up a 1080p DVD player just cause they now have a TV that can do HD. A lot of new owners are wanting to "expose" the true quality of their HD TV and no better way to do that than with a HD capable player. Go to retail stores (BestBuy) and you'll be amazed at how many folks are walking the Blu-Ray section -- people you'd not expect to see, like a Mom with her 2 you kids looking at Walt Disney titles. It's happening and it's happening now.
As far as upgrading ones entire DVD library, I agree, probably only the really good ones will be duplicated.
Also agree that Blu-ray is another temporary format that will last maybe 10 years or so. However, we'll need a significant US network upgrade before we can support everything being distributed over airwaves and wires. Our current US network infrastructure is too weak to support elimination of hard copies. Just look at folks like Comcast, DirectTV, Dish, etc. -- their HD content is seriously compressed and it shows. Still way better than SD, but broadcast HD vs. blu-ray HD and the difference is obvious, blu-ray just destorys broadcast HD in image quality (especially when it comes to motion).

  • Is There A Noise Reduction Plug-in For FCP?

Wondering if I could find a plug-in for FCP5 or Color that will reduce the noise shot with high ISO in low light. Does anyone have a suggestion. Thanks!
    Message was edited by: sburst7

I have found the 'Noise Reduction' in the CHV repair collection for FCP to be the best out of anything that I have ever tried. The noise reduction is fantastic and the sharpness loss is the best out everything I have seen.
    http://www.chv-plugins.com/cms/Fx-Script/Repair-collection/Repair-collection.php
The default settings can be a little excessive, I almost always end up with a setting of 10 and 15 regardless of the footage.
Also, you can try grain reduction inside of colour - pair it with a vignette and alpha blend to limit it to specific areas.
    Cheers,
    Liam.

  • Plug-in for Aperture conversion

I just bought, mistakenly I think, Lightroom 5, which turns out to be version 5.2.  I read now that the plug-in for import of Aperture libraries comes with version 5.6.  I can't find any update; when I look for it, I just see it for Windows or CC.  How do I get an update or the plug-in?

Hi Anthony. First, see here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/upgrade-policy-product-announcement.htm l
If you still need the latest update for Lightroom 5 (5.7.1), you can find that here:  Product updates
Once you get the right version installed, see here:  Adobe Lightroom

  • Does anyone use the Flickr plug-in for Aperture?

Is it safe? Can/Should I use it? Otherwise what is the best way to go about exporting from Aperture to Flickr?

The problem with the flickr integration is that Aperture is given permission to delete photos on flickr. I personally think Apple should've left this out. Many people on flickr are reporting losing online versions and masters all in one swipe. A BIG nono.
    It's up to you.

  • Is there a plug in for viewing pps e-mails

Whenever anyone sends me power point pictures, or whatever, in an e-mail, I can't open them with Firefox. I have to log on with Internet Explorer, go to my mail, and THEN it will be opened automatically. I hate having to do that every time. Isn't there SOME kind of plug in for that for Firefox??
    Thanks for your help.

...I would like to be able to do true
    cropping...
that does mean, you want to chop off some parts, BUT
you need to blow the rest to avoid the mentioned
    borders...
that's called a crop&zoom, you get it here
    http://imovieplugins.com/ for 2.5$ (search for
    zoom)
    I quote the website:
this plug cannot improve the quality of the
footage. if you zoom part of the picture, very soon
you will see a ‘pixellation’ effect, i.e. the picture
becomes blocky. the plug does everything it can to
    interpolate between pixels,...
Yep, that's exactly what I want to do. Of course, I realize that it will appear pixellated if it's also zoomed. My main goal, however, is to eliminate the unwanted part of the movie so that I can fit it on my web site. Thanks!

  • Return receipt plug in for Mac Mail software?

Return receipt for Mac OSX 10.4.6 build in email software “Mail” 2.0.7 (746.2/749.3) 2005 Apple Inc.
Is there a return receipt plug in for Mac Mail software? I want to know if my sent mail was received and know if the mail was opened.

    Kboo,
in general not a good idea. This may cause loops with Out-of-Office responders and also not a very trustworthy confirmation.
Options are to use certified email servers as an intermediate (google to find many) or to request explicitly a written reply from the recipient.

  • Any "print" plug-in's under development for Aperture ??

Does anyone know of anyone actively developing a "print" tool plug-in for Aperture?
As I've posted on several related threads, I'm very disappointed with the severe lack of options within Aperture for printing. With the release of the Aperture SDK for 3rd party developers, I'm hoping that someone is developing a plug-in that will:
    - allow ability to select exact photo size per image
    - allow multiple images at the selected size, per page
    - allow different images, at different sizes each, per page
    - provide options to "crop to fit" or "maintain ratio" per picture
I understand that there's always the option to export photos to CS2 to do this, or use other tools to print. But, the bottom line is that if Aperture wants to be considered a professional tool, it needs to provide this capability from within the tool itself.
Let's hope this work is underway....

    tom:
just FYI, the Aperture SDK is for image export only, not printing.
as for printing multiple, exact sized images per page, you could use this custom book design:
    http://macmethod.com/ApertureBooks/Site/Package%20Deal.html
it allows you to create layouts in popular sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc) and has lots of combinations of those sizes to help maximize paper usage. the picture drop-ins don't have a maintain ratio option, but will crop-to-fit.
but i agree, a true multi-print-per-page solution should be integral to the application.

  • Plug-in for syncing audio

I have a separate audio track that needs to sync up with video.  There's a nice plug-in for Final Cut Pro that can handle the syncing:  http://www.singularsoftware.com/.   Does such a plug-in exist for Premiere or is there something native in Premiere that can do it?

I am not familiar with any such plug-in.
This ARTICLE covers OOS issues, but it is by hand and eye.
Good luck, and maybe someone else knows of such a plug-in to automate the process.
