Is there a file that correlates a LabView call to GPIB on HP-UX?

I can ping my gpib enet box, but, is there a file that will correlate the LabView GPIB call(GPIB::007) with the ip address of the enet box connected to my oscope on the HP-UX system?

I'm not sure of exactly what you're looking for, so if you could give me more details about what you're trying to do and why, that would be helpful. It sounds like you're looking for a /dev file that maps to your oscilloscope or possibly trying to determine the IP address of your ENET box given the GPIB0 interface.
If you're looking for the /dev file in order to write to the device, this is not possible. See http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/F87516E07CB7E6438525644B00572CA9?OpenDocument.
In the case of trying to find your ENET's IP address based on the GPIB0 name, there may be a way to do this depending on what you have available to you. If you can ping the ENET device by name, the operating system is resolving this IP for you via a "GetHo
stByName()" call or something similar, and it is probably checking your HOSTS file for the IP. Let me know more about your problem and I can give you further details.

Try disabilng the Enable Disk Use option from under the iPod's Summary tab, applying the changes, and seeing if that helps.
Otherwise, temporarily disabling any antivirus, security, firewall, or file indexing software that may be running on your system and then try restoring your iPod again.

I can access Acrobat and MS Office programs, it's just the CS3 programs that I can't access. Can I uninstall and then reinstall CS3 without an access (un-lock) code?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

There are methods involving hacking with Files, but it is best to use the above method if possible.

I had to reformat my C: drive and reinstall winxp. I copied the firefox folder from my c drive be fore I formate the drive. And put in on my storage drive D: Is there a way of getting my bookmarks back out of the firefox directory on my D: drive and put them on the C: drive where I reinstalled firefox in Program Files directory.
Maybe there is a file that I can just copy over from the D: drive firefox to the c: drive firefox folder, but I don't know what the file name is.

Did you save the Profile folder where Firefox stores your personal data?

Is there a way for Labview to take control of a file that is already in use

Is there a way in LabView to programatically take control of a file in use by another process? I wish to write data to files that may be opened by another process, this data is time sensitive and acquired continuously so having my process wait until the file is available is not feasible.
There should not be any other software accessing these files but sometimes windows is looking at them for some reason and I'm not sure how to make windows let go of them. This does not accur often but it is annoying.

Yes, use handle or process explorer from sysinternals. (see also).
How is your labVIEW program structured? Could it be that your LabVIEW program itself holds on to the file from e.g. a previous file IO operation? Make sure references don't become invalid (e.g. via a "use default if unwired output tunnel) which would prevent the file from getting closed properly for example. Your program should open the file once at the start of the program and keep it open for the duration of the run. This way you should not have any intermittent problems accessing it.

Or if you want to grab all the paths programatically, try the attached VI.
Open the top level that you want all the paths from and close all others, then open the
attached and run it. It will return an array of all the VIs that the VI
in question uses, including vi.lib VIs. You can filter these as well if
you like.

How does I read a HWS file that contains 2 traces, in labview? (error -21508)

Dear experts,
I have been using a PXI-5105 acquisition card to save data from 2 channels at the same time (coming from different sensors).
Up to now I have been reading the files in Matlab, taking into consideration the group name, the trace name and the coefficients of each channel. I was able to do the post-processing of the data in Matlab. I attach an example of the kind of files I'm handling if it helps, inside a zip.
Now I would like to implement this post-processing (FFT, etc.) in Labview. I have tried to use a couple of examples such as "hws_low_level_read.vi" or even the HI-HWS Express load utility to check the file, but it seems difficult to read it because of the 2 channels saved inside the same file.
The error -21508 appears at the "niHWS Get Wfm reference.vi". That refers to:
Error -21508 occurred at niHWS Get Wfm Reference.vi
Possible reason(s): NIHWS: There is no group in the file that matches the provided group name
And it seems odd to me, as I'm using the same name for group (wfm_group0) and trace(vector0) than I was using in Matlab.
Anything I'm missing? Any hint on how to read it in any way?

Dear all,
I have been struggling with that problem today and I just wanted to post here how I have finally found a way to read the data.
It is so easy that I'm a bit ashamed, but I think it is worthy to answer in case anyone would need it.
The "niHWS Get wfm Reference" is asking for a Group Name and for a waveform name. I have used the "niHWS Get Group Name" and the "niHWS Get wfm Name". Both have direct outputs (strings) with the information that "niHWS Get wfm Reference" understands. You can directly link them.
But actually, in the reading of the data I found that the group name doesn't need to be fulfilled and the waveform name is "0" or "1" in cae you have 2 channels.
So, you see, it was very easy for my HWS file: put a control and select "0" or "1" for waveform name. The simpler the better, jejeje.
I hope it helps. And sorry for opening the question I'm now answering myself. I was completely lost yesterday.

HELP! "There are 309 files that don't belong in the project"

I needed to reformat my OS, so I backed up all my data onto DVD+RW's. (Verbatim brand.) including my imovies. I copied the entire "blahblah.iMovieProject" folder onto the DVD, then copied it back onto the drive after the reinstall. But now when I click on the project, it prompts me about this:
"There are 309 files that don't belong in the project"
and then this:
"There are 160 stray clip files in the project folder. Would you like to put them on the clips pane?"
After I click on "Leave Files Alone" for both of them, (versus move to trash, and Move files to clips pane, respectively), The project opens completely BLANK.
Oh great. Please inform. Am I out of luck?
Oh, btw, it also created like 10 versions of each photo in the "Media" folder. ick. what happened?...

Also, one more thing! Now that this has happened, even after I quit and restart the computer, upon opening the application, instead of starting out with a brand new project, the same prompts appear, and then leaves me with that seemingly corrupt project which is blank.

My iMac just crashed, and I had some documents open in Pages that were unsaved. Is there a temporary file or backup file that I can access as on a PC? (I have just looked in Timemachine which I had operating, but it did not seem to have any temp files).

If you didn't save, nothing is recoverable.
iWork apps don't create temp files so, as far as you on't save something, Time Machine can't archive it.
