Is there a fix for CS6 Photoshop crash when adding audio track?
I tried posting this problem yesterday, but have gotten no response:
I'm video editing using Photoshop CS6 (NOT Premiere! NOT CC) and I'm consistently experiencing an application crash (i.e. quit) within a second of selecting/loading an audio track to my edited video. My video is about 3min long in 1080p and I'm running OSX Yosemity on a 13" MacPro Retina w/16GB internal memory. Is there a fix (or even a known cause) for this problem?
Since my original post I've tried using a smaller video format (i.e. 720p) and shorter length(i.e. 40 sec), but to no avail. Photoshop CS6 still quit immediately after loading an audio track and fail to save.
Other info I can add: Yosemite 10.10.2, Photoshop CS6 13.0 x64
Use a proper video application.

Fix for bug introduced yesterday when adding clipContent to FxContainer and FxDataContainer. The default value needs to be true.
Also fixing a bug in SystemManager since application isn't always an IRawChildrenContainer anymore. This was previously fixed and got clobbered in a merge.

I've read about this being a common issue with the iPhone 4S, particularly with iOS 5.1.1. I spoke with someone at apple tech support and did a hard reset - no luck. She mentioned that replacing the phone was a possible solution but I'd rather use that as a last resort - I haven't heard the greatest things about turn around time with apple's warranty.
Is there a fix for this? The person on the other end (whether it's an outbound or an inbound call) can't hear me at all. I can hear everything fine. Speakerphone works fine. Facetime works fine. Checked my mute button, on/off/on/off, no luck. Checked all my settings and can't figure it out.
Any ideas?I ended up getting a new phone, straight through Apple. I called their technical support and went through all he basics again and they decided to replace it. Was a pretty quick process - after defaulting and resetting the whole phone (about 2 hours), I called them back to inform that there was no change, so they set up the order.
I had to give my CC# so they could hold a charge on it (in case I didn't send my old phone bach, which they sent me a pre-posted package to send it in anyway). Had a brand new iPhone 4S in my hands in 4 days, which was pretty decent. I had uploaded everything previously to iCloud, so setting up the new phone was a snap.
Only thing I really didn't like was they charged me almost 30 bucks for shipping or processing, or something. Not so sure that should have been my responsibility after spending so much on a brand new product, only to have to have it warrantied after, like, a month. -
I have Adobe CS6 Design Standard (MAC). I have had it about a year and a half and use it a ton! Just yesterday while I was using Photoshop, I clicked to use the type tool, the "initializing type tool" box popped up then a few seconds later the whole program crashed. I tried opening it back up and every time I did it just kept crashing. I restarted and shut down my computer, but still no solution. I even uninstalled the program then reinstalled. Same thing. All of my other tools work just fine (brush tool, eraser, crop, etc.). Also, when I try to open up a .psd file the program crashes as well.
I tried searching the internet for solutions, but couldn't find much. One suggestion was to delete the Adobe Photoshop program settings file, I did that but it still didn't work. After each crash a report would be sent to Adobe, then another window would pop up saying that Adobe has found a solution for the recent crash. There is a link that says "please CLICK HERE for further details" but the link doesn't take me anywhere. It just doesn't work!
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on how to fix it? I really need to get this up and running again!!!This is a user to user forum and Adobe Staff does drop by.
First thing to try is Reset the Type Tool by right-clicking on its' icon in the Options bar.
If you still have problems, it could be related to fonts. Here is a step by step troubleshooting help doc for that.

Photoshop crashes when playing audio
I am using Photoshop CS6 on Surface Pro 128GB to edit Video.
It crashes every time I like the preview the video and hit play in the timeline. First I was thinking it is the Video driver. Then I discovered, that it ONLY crashes when I hit the play button and it needs to play sound. As long as I mute all the clips it plays fine. I also have no problems editing. It is really only coaching immediately when it previews a clip with audio.
What can that be?
Please help! TNX!This came this morning just once:

Is there a fix for BTServer constantly crashing on the 4g?
It happens multiple times a day and so far my only "fix" is to power cycle.
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS(SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0xbd15deadTry this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Is there a fix for a slow response when pressing stop?
When pressing stop (either by mouse or pressing spacebar), there is always a one to two second delay before the music actually stops. Why is this? Any fix?
I have been using Digital Performer and that always stops on a dime. It is a bit annoying to hear another 1- 2 seconds of music after hitting "Stop". Any ideas?
This is not a latency issue.
ThanksA lag setting in like that could also be a sign of needed RAM exceeding available RAM - at which time parts of the contents of RAM have to be temporarily stored to or retrieved from disk.
That lag is from the OS needing to read RAM content from disk, or the OS needing to write RAM content to disk - and more often than not, both simultaneously. Only after this has been done ("swapping") is the correct RAM content - that's needed for Logic to 'stop' - in place and can the command actually be executed.
Installing more RAM should help, though you might want to check the (real) RAM use of your laggy Logic project via Activity Monitor first, just to be sure.
One of the big RAM eaters, apart from sampled acoustic instruments, is Flex. used RAM can grow quickly when Flex editing. If that happens it may be wise to quit and restart Logic from time to time. -
Fixing acrobat pro XI crash when adding bates numbers
Upgraded from Pro 8 to Pro 11 and regretting it. Now the program just won't work. Process of adding bates numbers is simple. Once I finally find where the "tool" is hidden, I add a document and then select add bates number. There is "OK" button, but when I click that, program crashes. Every time, every document regardless of size.
I just tried works for me.

How to fix Premiere Elements 12 crashing when adding media from flip or camera.
I am using Premiere Elements 12 on an HP Pavilion g6. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. I am connecting a Verizon LG Lucid, trying to load video from my phone to my computer via Premiere. After selecting "Add Media" and "Videos from Flip or Cameras", Premiere freezes, then crashes.
The strange thing is, I have been able to load videos from this phone before without a problem.Sellers13
At this point, are you OK with editing your cell phone video in Premiere Elements 12?
From what I have read of your cell phone, you should be using the project preset of
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30
Are you?
Are you setting the project preset manually before you import the video or letting the program take over the project preset setting task as it does by default?
You can check the project preset that was set by going to Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and seeing what the readings are for Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, and Pixel Aspect Ratio.
Assuming all that is OK, is your video and audio in sync when you play back your video from the Expert workspace Timeline?
If so, great.

PSE 7 Crashes when adding audio?
I have Vista 64 and when i try to add audio it crashes the computer. I have the latest driver from Realtek for my sound card. Any sugggestions?
Do I reinstall on the same machine? If so, will I be able to recover all fo the work I have done?
Uninstalling and reinstalling will not affect your existing catalog, nor saved slideshow projects. If you also use Premiere Elements note that PRE video projects no longer appear in the organizer, although they can still be opened directly in PRE.
Do I upgrade to the newer version? Will I have the same issue?
Without an identified cause of the existing problem that question cannot be answered.
Shoudl I try to down load the trial version first? Not sure if it over writes the current version and if I would lose anything?
Yes, install the trial. Multiple version of PSE can coexist. When installing a later version of PSE I always make a copy of the catalog from my previous version and convert that rather than the original.
Cheers,
Neale

Powerpoint crashes when adding audio to powerpoint 2007
Hello. I am running a 64 bit Windows Vista machine, 2007 version of Powerpoint, and the latest licensed version 7.0.7 of Presenter. Each time I try to add audio to a slide the system asks me to check my audio, then crashes, losing all unsaved files. I have reinstalled several times, rebooted, used both new and old ppt files, and have deleted Temp files on my computer. Nothing works. I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot this issue. Do you have any other ideas of why this is happening and what to try?
J.Sounds like some sort of system specific audio driver conflict. Have you checked to make sure your audio card drivers are the most up to date? Have you considered moving to Windows 7 which is massively more secure and better performing? I use a Mac but even I would try to move off Vista as quickly as I could knowing all the issues with Vista. I think it would be worth your trouble just upgrading to Windows 7. I'm not being critical so please don't take it that way but it's well known that Vista was pretty problematic from the start in so many ways that many people quickly upgraded to Win7 or waited and stayed on XP because of the Vista problems.
If you cannot move to Win7 then as a troubleshooting measure try another PC and see if you have the issue there. Another option would be to try using VMWare and load up another OS like XP and see if you get the same issue. It's really a matter of isolating the problem on this PC.
Good luck. -
IMovie crashes when adding audio clip
I am in the middle of creating a movie, everything has been going very smoothly and then suddenly iMovie started crashing whenever I try to add a sound clip to a slide.
The audio clip does initially appear to be added, but then iMovie hangs and I have to force quit.
Any ideas on why this would suddenly start occuring when everything was working fine up 'til now?I hope you don't mind my jumping in and adding to the muddied waters, but I am also having trouble with iMovie transitions. I just bought the MacBook Pro - 200 gig hard drive with boosted RAM. I have experienced the following problems:
1. After reading Karl's caution about iMovie trash, I don't empty the trash until the project is completed, so that's not the issue.
2. And this is what's odd . . . I just put one movie together and had not a single glitch. I pulled stills in using Ken Burns, was able to go back and edit the clips, change transitions, etc.
3. I have another movie that I have been working on and it was going fine UNTIL I added the first transition. After that, whenever I select a clip I get a black screen and have to reimport the photo to see it.
4. When I try and add transitions, sometimes they work, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes the system crashes, and sometimes it looks like it is going to render, but the rendering line never progresses.
5. I have tried deleting the plist files for both iMovie and iPhoto, and repairing permissions, but it doesn't work.
6. No security features are turned on.
7. I do have slick transitions, but as I said, they worked fine in the first movie (where trash was never emptied.)
This is making me crazy and is far too time consuming. Karl, any thoughts?
Thanks so much. -
Lightroom CC 2015 crashes when adding audio to a Slideshow

Captivate 5.5 Software simulation video crashes when adding audio recording
I run Windows 7 and Adobe captivate crashes after trying to start a audio recording in software simulation. My simulation is ready and the moment, I click the "record audio" button, the application freezes and I have to go to end the application via Task Manager.
Solution approaches:
I have started Captivate as administrator and that didn't help.
I have then tried to look up my preferences but didn't find any files which i could identify as preferences.
I have already tried the solution in the Note below (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/759455)
Help please.
Thanks,
AI am having similar issues, but with the internal speach generator. I have both simulation and demonstration videos. I was able to enter text and convert to Paul's voice without issue, but the minute I tried to add closed captions Captivate totally locked up. And now when I try to do any sort of audio edit, no matter which method of access to the audio (using Audio - Audio Management or Audio - Speech Management or the Add/Edit Audio buttons in the Properties window or using the Closed Caption button in the Slide Notes tab or double click the audio wave file in the Timeline tab) Captivate totally locks up. I was originally able to create 1 file with closed captions but now it also locks up when I try to edit and no other file will let me add CC or use the Audio edit features.
Captivate 5.5, Windows 7; run captivate as admin or not - no difference. Run captivate on my primary or secondary monitor - no difference; run captivate with or without other applications open - no difference.
When I force close using Task Manager I did get a CpDump file that was created. Not sure what to do with that...I submitted a bug but have heard nothing back.
I did follow the steps in the earlier referenced link about deleting the preferences. I also did not find a specific file/folder labeled preferences but my IT group said it was OK to delete the entire final folder in the referenced chain (Captivate 5). Once I did that, I had access to my Closed Captions again and could edit the audio. -
Is there a fix for modal dialogs opening behind palettes -cs6 -osx 10.6.8
Is there a fix for modal dialogs open behind palettes in
Photoshop cs6 13.0 (createive cloud update) + OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on MacBook Pro?
( I am using 2 monitors where the second monitor is set to be the menu display. cs4 does not exhibit this bug. )
Toggling the Application Frame off improves the hiding 'feature' but this does not include the desired continuous floating in front of palettes in all circumstances.
An example is Blending Options, then chose Stroke, then chose the Color Picker. After clicking OK, the Blending Options dialog now sits behind the palettes. One trick is to click on another app, then back to cs6 to force a window redraw.
It sure would help me if this could be solved. I am preparing educational videos and this display bug makes things very troublesome.
Thanks for any help. If I find a solution, I will post to this thread so everyone can benefit. The setting for the graphics check box Does Not make a difference. If I have a new document window open, then add a layer, then open the blending options > drop shadow > edit the color > the chooser dialog opens, and immediately both dialog windows drop behind the palettes AND any document windows.
The same behavior for the Preferences dialog > guides > color.
The quick workaround is to click another app, then back to CS6. A real pain, of course.
It is only a factor when opening a second (child) dialog box.
Other CS6 apps do work correctly (eg. FW AE)
I have yet to get a handle on this. Mac OSX 10.6.8 CS6 13.0 x64
Thanks for your replies, and the long reply time for me was a vaction away from the office.
