Is there a fix for spotlight indexing yet?

I've searched a few times regarding this issue and it seems like there's no resolution. At least for me.
It seems like spotlight randomnly starts indexing with an annoying frequency. So much so I feel that it is harming my computer and hamering not only it's abilities, but it's life itself.
Fans will kick in high. Normal apps like Safart and Mail will start to run sluggish. It's killing me.
Anyone know of a fix?
Methods I've tried:
-Resetting PRAM
-Reindexing Spotlight by adding then removing the Mac Hard Drive in System Preferences.
-Excluding certain programs such as dropbox
None have worked.
Is there a way to manually delete the index? Is that safe?
I know I can just turn it off, but it's incredibly useful. If that's my only option then so be it. I just need to be sure.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window, if any — the text, please, not a screenshot.

Well the error codes occur at the white warning screen when it crashes....It says press a key or wait for reboot. I would have tot be at my mac at the random time it does it. I will keep a lookout but it will be hard to get, becuase i would have to take an actual picture of it!

Have you tried going to System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy and dragging your hard drive into the box then drag it back. That will trigger a re-index.

Why would there be a fix? YOU are having the problem. I'm not, no one I know is having the problem. No fix is needed.
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Have you been through any, if not all of these troubleshooting steps yet?

Are you searching for file names or content? If it's the latter dDownload and run Find Any File to search for the same file names.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there are files with those file names on the hard drive FAF will find them.
In any case reindex the HD for Spotlight according to this Apple document: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes - Apple Support

( I am using 2 monitors where the second monitor is set to be the menu display. cs4 does not exhibit this bug. )
Toggling the Application Frame off improves the hiding 'feature' but this does not include the desired continuous floating in front of palettes in all circumstances.
An example is Blending Options, then chose Stroke, then chose the Color Picker. After clicking OK, the Blending Options dialog now sits behind the palettes. One trick is to click on another app, then back to cs6 to force a window redraw.
It sure would help me if this could be solved. I am preparing educational videos and this display bug makes things very troublesome.

The setting for the graphics check box Does Not make a difference. If I have a new document window open, then add a layer, then open the blending options > drop shadow > edit the color > the chooser dialog opens, and immediately both dialog windows drop behind the palettes AND any document windows.
The same behavior for the Preferences dialog > guides > color.
The quick workaround is to click another app, then back to CS6. A real pain, of course.
It is only a factor when opening a second (child) dialog box.
Other CS6 apps do work correctly (eg. FW AE)
I have yet to get a handle on this. Mac OSX 10.6.8 CS6 13.0 x64

No. However you can turn off iTunes Match on the device, sync the explicit song, then re-enable iTM. Then your iOS device will play the correct version of the song.

Ever since the most recent firefox update, every time I try to download anything firefox stops responding and will not do anything until I restart it. Can I revert back to a previous version, or is there a fix for it?

Title says it all. I just upgraded to Mac OS X Lion, and can no longer use a finger swipe, whether one or 2 fingered, to move backwards an forwards between pages. I can still do so in Safari, but not in Firefox 5.01, my preferred browser, any longer. Doesn't matter if I try using one, two or more fingers

I dropped my iphone 4s and the screen quickly went to stripes then to black. After pressing buttons the next day, the phone works, but the charge was totally depleted and the screen shakes. Is there a fix for this?

I dropped my iphone 4s (it had an otterbox-thick case on it at the time of drop) last night and the screen quickly went to different colored stripes then to black. The phone wouldn't work. This morning, I was pressing all the buttons I could-at the same time and the phone turned on with the battery completely depleted. At the time of the drop the phone had 98% charge. I plugged the phone in and began charging, however, the screen shakes. Is there a fix for the shaking of the screen? The phone works otherwise. Unfortunately, I don't have warranty on it and have only had the phone since November.

Obviously your phone was damaged by the fall. Take it in for evaluation, servicing and/or replacement at an Apple store or authorized service provider.
Since it is out of warranty you will, most likely, have to pay.
