Is there a fixed directory structure where we put our application?

the samples .java files I find in \ias6\ias\ias-samples\database\hellodb\src\samples\hellodb\servlet ...
I need to know if there is a directory structure that I should follow that iPlanet need when I deploy my application? like where do I put my .jsp files, .java or any beans class ? or it does not matter because these would be in the WAR file ..

It does not matter how your directory structure is for your applications. When you deploy the war/ear files, all your class files and JSPs will be extracted from the war/ear files under ias_root_dir/ias/APPS

  • Is there a suggested directory structure for iTunes?

    Is there a suggested directory structure for iTunes? I have moved my library around several times (what with new machines, etc.) and I find that I have two app libraries in different locations and I think it is the problem behind a refusal to sync issue I'm having with my iPad.
    Any help would be gladly appreciated!

    (Screen grabs a great help)

    I'll see your Tb and raise you some - the truth is, almost every major revision and data migration from MBP to MBP and now back to a MP has caused replication of folders in the strangest of places, none of which I have consciously created - I mean, why would anyone except out of self-focused spite want to create three different sets of apps folders - to say nothing of the interminable Compilations folders that sprout from no where in particular!
    I could understand the issue if I was careless or a complete neophyte,  I only moved to the Apple platform about 6 years ago, (even though I've been using the platform since 1987) when I went to work for the company.
    iTunes I think is a little like a cat - it recognises my lingering, subyle antipathy and rolls all over me just to mess with my head!
    Thanks for the information, none-the-less, greatly appreciated.

  • Directory structure and files in Oracle Application server 10g and 11g

    Hi all,
    I am doing a lab migration from 10g to 11g based on the use of JAXB. There were some directory structures used in 10g to store the JAXB jar files and some other custom jar files. I want to know the equivalent folder structures in SOA 11g server. The 10g server directories are mentioned below:-
    1.<OracleAS_Home>\webservices\lib.
    2. server.xml located at <OracleAS_Home>\j2ee\home\config in 10g. Where can I find the equivalent file to "server.xml" in 11g server?
    3. <OracleAS_Home>\bpel\system\classes\com\oracle\bpel\xml\util.
    4. <OracleAS_Home> \bpel\system\classes.

    Here are the equivalents as per best of my knowledge:
    1. <WebLogic Home>\server\lib
    For example, D:\Middleware\wls1036\wlserver_10.3\server\lib
    2. config,xml located at <Domain_Home>\config\
    For example, D:\Middleware\wls1036\user_projects\domains\ArunBaseDomain1036\config\config.xml
    3. It should be the same as 10g (instead of OracleAS_Home, it will be ORACLE_Home) if you install the BPEL product. Since, I have not installed BPEL/SOA, I am not very sure.
    4. It should be the same as 10g (instead of OracleAS_Home, it will be ORACLE_Home) if you installed the BPEL product.
    Also, I would recommend that you consider using ORACLE Smart Upgrade (JDeveloper component) to help you with the upgrade process. It exactly points out these mappings of file/directory structures AND the necessary configuration changes as well.
    If you are requirement, is only about making the library jars available to your application, then consider reading the below discussion.

  • Correct Directory Structure for Serving a Web Application from Arch?

    At the moment I have an Apache web server hosting PHP based web pages out of /srv/http. This works for what I am doing at the moment, but i was wondering if there was a more professional\correct way to host a web application on Arch.
    When would someone host a page in /srv/http vs /var/www ? ( is /www even widely used on archlinux) ?
    Or is their a better way all together ( I read something about symbolic linking the 2 directories)?
    Can anyone provide a sample of how they decided to set up their basic web directories ?
    Any help is very much appreciated !

    It mainly depends on the webserver you're using.  There's nothing about the difference between /srv/http versus /var/www.  As far as the web user is concerned they don't even know what directory structure you're using.

  • Web app directory structure

    Is there some standard directory structure when building J2EE web application that consists for example JSP pages, servlets, EJB components, pictures etc.

    place all your jsps in "jsp" folder under the project folder.
    Create a folder called "WEB-INF" under the project folder which contains all your servlets, and web.xml and taglib.tld files. Your servlets that is .class files should be in a folder "classes" under "WEB-INF".
    The .html files and picture files are under the project folder.
    I hope it will help you some how.
    But, the directory structure depends upon the Framework you are using such as Struts, Spring or Axis.

  • Is it possible to Change Directory structure once the project is developed?

    Hello,
    I am a Newbee to OAF development, I recently developed a JSP page using the oracle recommended directory structure "<companyname>.oracle.apps.<custom directory>." ie., for ex: "*xxcom*.oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server", the page worked perfectly fine when I ran it from jDeveloper.
    but when I tried to deployed the same in the server to run from Oracle Applications, I found that our organization's unix directory structure where I need to deploy the files is not the same, they are excluding the "<companyname>" directory in there structure, the directory structure in unix looks like this "$JAVA_TOP.oracle.apps.<custom directory>...." ie., for example: "/u06/appsw/appdevcomn/java/oracle/apps/xxco", so now I cannot deploy the page I have developed.
    How do I resolve this issue? can I change the directory structure in jDeveloper now to match that on the server, ie., change it to "oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server" instead of "*xxcom*.oracle.apps.xxco.xxco_mapping.server"
    Thanks

    Yes, it is called refactoring. PLease see the link below:

  • Directory structure for Applets

    The Tutorial recommends storing the applet class in the same directory as the HTML file. Is this the usual best practice? If not is there a preferred directory structure. I've noticed that the codebase relative URL "../myclasses/" doesn't work from the root htdocs path.

    I have been storing my class files and jar files in the same directory as my html.
    That is what I've typically seen people do, but it is not necessary if you specify otherwise in your codebase. Thanks, that's probably what I'll do.
    If you set the value of your codebase using the URL in your example "../myclasses" you are saying that
    your applet class is located in a directory called "myclasses" which is in the Parent directory of htdocs. I realize that's what the ../ should mean, its just that it doesn't appear to work if the html file is in the root as specified by htdocs. If there is an extra level it works.

  • Ant Directory structure.

    Hi,
    We are developing J2EE application that would contain number of components. Each component would be a ear file that would contain EJB jars and war which can be deployed in any J2EE compliant application server.
    We are currently using Bedrock framework for applications deployed in Weblogic. It provides a very robust directory structure with most of the ant targets. However it is very custom for Weblogic.
    Is there a similar framework that provides a robust directory structure (with built ant targets) which can be delopyed into Orion/Oracle Application Server.
    If not, is there any standard directory structure for building J2EE applications? Any recommended source directory structure and why?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Can't I change the directory structure?

              Hello Everybody,
              So far everything is working when use the default directory structure,i.e. mydomain/applications/myWebApp/WEB-INF/classes/some package structure.
              But we have application with lot of html files which call servlets like this..myWebApp/WebApp/myServlet.
              In order not to change my html files, I've created this WebApp directory under weblogic directory structure shown above.
              I've done some trial and error in web.xml file to make servlets execute. But 404 error is showing up.
              I tried putting in web.xml like this...
              <servlet>
              <servlet-name>/WebApp/HelloWorldServlet</servlet-name>
              <servlet-class>com.reliable.servlets.HelloWorldServlet</servlet-class>
              </servlet>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>HelloWorldServlet</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/WebApp/HelloWorldServlet/*</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              I also tried taking out slash(/) before WebApp but no luck.
              Can any one guide how to make this work.
              Thanks so much,
              Sri

    What he needs is something like:
              <servlet>
              <servlet-name>HHH</servlet-name>
              <servlet-class>com.reliable.servlets.HelloWorldServlet</servlet-class>
              </servlet>
              <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>HHH</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>HelloWorldServlet/*</url-pattern>
              </servlet-mapping>
              HHH is simply to link the mapping declaration to the servlet declaration.
              Then the URL would be something like:
              http://myserver:8801/appname/HelloWorldServlet/abc
              If this is the default app, then appname/ drops out.
              There is a good discussion of this in our docs and
              the servlet spec discusses this as well.

  • Moving in directory structure through servlet

    Hi everyone,
    I am currently using this directory structure and have 2 web applications "myweb1" and "myweb2".
    /myweb1/jsp pages
    /myweb1/WEB-INF
    /myweb1/WEB-INF/classes
    /myweb1/WEB-INF/classes/myservlet
    /myweb1/WEB-INF/lib
    /myweb2/display.jsp
    /myweb2/WEB-INF
    /myweb2/WEB-INF/classes
    /myweb2/WEB-INF/lib
    I have a servlet named "myservlet" in WEB-INF/classes directory(myweb1 application) as shown above. I have following entries in my web.xml file of "myweb1" webapplication.
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>myservlet</servlet-name>
    <display-name>myservlet</display-name>
    <servlet-class>com.abc.servlet.myservlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>myservlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    This whole application is running fine. Now I need to forward user from "myservlet" to "display.jsp" page in myweb2 application.
    I am using this line in "myservlet" file.
    getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("../myweb2/display.jsp").forward(request, response);
    however this line is not working. Can anyone suggest me how to access display.jsp file from myservlet.
    Thanks.
    Rahul

    As long as everything is running within the same application server instance, you should be able to access both contexts. The key is using the getContext(String URI) method of the ServletContext. From the servlet in webapp1:RequestDispatchter dispatch =
        getServletContext().getContext("/webapp2").getRequestDispatcher("display.jsp");You may have to fiddle with the value in the getContext call (it should be the application context of webapp2) but you should be able to get this to work.

  • Where to put simple html-file in WebLogic directory structure?

    After installing JDeveloper 11g and WebLogic 10.3 which came in the same exe-file (jdevstudio11110install.exe), I want to try WebLogic as a ordinary web server for a simple html-file. Where should the file be placed in WebLogics directory structure, and are there any settings that need to be done to get this to work?

    Thank you, Maxence -
    I made it work this way:
    - Entered the following in weblogic.xml for a simple dummy-servlet...
    (WebLogicServletTest-ProjectWebLogicServletTest-context-root)
    ... deployed to the WebLogic server:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <weblogic-web-app>
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
    <local-path>C:\WorkScratch\</local-path>
    <url-pattern>*.html</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    WebLogic served up the hoppla.html-file in the C:\WorkScratch directory with the following browser URL:
    http://192.168.15.108:8900/WebLogicServletTest-ProjectWebLogicServletTest-context-root/hoppla.html

  • Is there any way to specify a URL in the servlet-mapping that doesn't need to be in the directory structure?

              I migrated from WebLogic 5.1 to 7.0.2 Something I used to have set-up in 5.1 no
              longer
              works.
              I am using the weblogic.servlet.FileServlet and have the URL "/cxedocs/" mapped
              to this
              servlet. So whenever the URL http://localhost:7001/cxedocs/en_US/index.html
              is used it would use the docHome associated with the /cxedocs/ URL and then append
              the "en_US/index.html" on to it. So let's say d:\temp\en_US\index.html
              But now for WL 7.0.2 it appears that the URL also needs to be in the directory
              structure.
              So it now takes the docHome "d:\temp" adds the URL "/cxedocs/" and then appends
              the
              rest - so d:\temp\cxedocs\en_US\index.html.
              I can't require that the "cxedocs" directory be there. Is there anyway to map
              a certain URL
              without requiring it in the directory structure. I looked at virtual directory
              mapping too but
              it still seemed to require this.
              Any help would be appreciated!
              Thanks!

              I opened up a case with support on this. After some research they came back with
              that
              NO there is no way to do this. In 6.0 it was changed to follow the spec which
              restricts this.
              The URL must be part of the directory path.

  • Is there a tool to clean a directory structure of unused LabVIEW code?

    I could write this from scratch as follows:
    Load all of my LabVIEW code including dynamically-called VIs into memory, then list all these VIs.
    List all VIs in the directory structure I want to clean.
    For each VI in the directory structure that's not in memory, delete it. If this leaves that VI's parent directory empty, delete that parent directory.
    There is probably already a tool or VI that does this, but I can't find it. Does such a thing exist?

    bmihura,
    I to have had the need/desire to do this.  At my previous employer I wrote a tool that assisted with that function.  Unfortunately I no longer have access to that tool.  If you have a very big program you may have memory and speed related issues when you load "all the VI's into memory".

    I have created a new XML region which I want to use in page through Personalization.
    where should I copy this file into Application Directory structure?
