Is there a format for movies that is similar to PNG files

I am new to much of the formats of animation. I want to create an animation that has a invisible background so if I play it on a page that has a background the background wll appear where the animation is not. I have a webpage that has a gradietn and ineed the image to remain having the same background.

Short version: There is no such thing. Long version: Transparency is an illusion and up to how the client (your browser) is able to interpret specific file formats. just like, in theory, it could just ignore transparencies in GIFs or PNGs, without the playback routine having specific prerequisites there wil lnever be transparency. That being said, your only option at this point is Flash video (FLV), but even then rendering it out from AE with transparency is jsut half the equation. You still need a proper Flash video player embedded in your web page and need to instruct it by ways of parameters in the surrouinding JavaScript code (FlashVars) to actually use transparency as well as hide its player skin. So before you even start, properly research that part. it's not by any means a simple solution just in AE. and on a sidenote, of course nothing stops you from foregoing transparency and adding a piece of your background to the video to create the illusion...

Are you sure PDF won't work? It should as what you're trying to do is pretty much what it is designed for (PDF - Portable Document Format). On a Mac anywone who receives the file should be able to see it in all its page layout glory by using the app Preview or Adobe Reader. Same on a PC, the file should be viewable as a PDF file using Adobe Reader and probably some other viewer (don't use PCs so not sure what other apps).
What application are you creating the file in and are you sure you're exporting it correctly in PDF format, fonts and images embedded?

I accidentally formatted my portable hard drive when setting it up for time machine. Is there any way for me to get back my lost files?

I have an external hard drive of the brand Western Digital.
Before I got my iMac I moved a lot of my important files from my PC to the hard drive and today I went on and connected it to my iMac to move my files over to it.
When it had connected a window popped up that asked if I wanted to use this hard drive with the program Time Machine and create backups. Without thinking it trough enough and reading the warning properly (I'm stupid I know) I clicked "yes". I then realised how stupid it was and cancelled the formatting of the hard drive. But somehow the program still managed to delete all my important files and can't find any way to get them back. Neither can I connect the hard drive to my PC anymore so I can't check if the files are still there (which I doubt they are since I can't see them on my iMac either).
And now I wonder: is there any way for me to get back my lost files or are they lost forever?

A data recovery specialist or some data recovery programs should be able to help. Most format simply rewrite the directory tree saying no files are on this disk. The bits that represent the files are still flipped appropreiately so they still exists, you just don't have the location info to get at them. Secure formats and erases rewrite each bit to a zero or 1 or random so the data is then truely gone. This type of format takes a long time to complete.
I'm not making a recomendation of a particular program but here is one company that does what you ask:

Good luck and don't write anything on the freshly formatted disk until you decide what to do.

Is there a solution for graphs that do not translate from Excel to PDF?

We are working on an Excel Spreadsheet with graphs but when we create a PDF of the sheet the graph does not contain the ledger or values. Is there a solution to this problem. We have tried both printing to PDF and exporting to PDF.

Just a note: If you want to print the PDF to paper, it may still not print correctly even though it looks correct on the PDF document- the printed graph may flow off of the paper sheet. When you click Print, a print dialog box opens with some options and a preview. If the preview does not look correct, change the size option to "Shrink oversized pages".

I still don't know what you mean by "icon scrolling". However, if it's something you've only seen on jailbroken phones, I'd guess that, whatever it is, it doesn't exist on a stock phone.

The attachment is an .xls excel 97-2003 spreadsheet. I viewed the file in the email and did not edit it with any software. I can forward the file to anyone that is may want to check it out to see if they can help me. I've tried transferring the parent folders, but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know of a more efficient way of getting iTunes to dig into the subfolders and transfer the music without me having to go one by one?

No. Any attempt to use an unsupported network device with Time Machine will probably result in data loss, even if it seems to be working at first. If you take data protection seriously, you won't try.

AppleMan and Patrick have basically covered the import/capture formats. However, if you are importing files at the Finder level, then DV (DV audio with DV video), DV25, DVCPRO25, DVCPRO50, AIC, Motion-JPEG, Photo-JPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264 are probably the ones most commonly used. For audio -- DV, Linear PCM (Big Endian & Little Endian) , and AAC are probably the ones most used. NOTE: Avoid Apple Animation and Apple Video files. They will import and edit but will not export properly.

Anybody find cause/fix for movies that play one day and not another?

I have a lot of movies. I find that at times I go back to watch a movie I have watched before and it errors saying cannot play movie, unrecognized format. Though I have watched it before on the AppleTV without issue.
I try again maybe a week later and it works. Then later, others won't play.
Very frustrating when I know the movie works as I have watched it before.
So, just curious if anybody else has seen this and knows why or at least a quick fix to get it to work. Rebooting the ATV and/or computer doesn't work.

It happens (when it does, as mentioned, doesn't always have issue) when streaming a movie.
eg: I get new movie. I have sync options to sync 5 most recent unwatched movies and 10 most recent unwatched tv shows and all music.
So new movie is on ATV. I watch. All is good.
When done ATV does it's thing and takes it off and brings over the next most recent to keep my count at 5 local to the ATV.
Later I want to watch again when wife gets home or something. Here is when sometimes I can watch (it streams) and other times (just happening more and more lately) it will say unrecognized format.
Yet if I go pick another movie that I know is not local to the ATV thus will stream, it will work. Just random various movies won't.
If I go to iTunes and mark one that isn't playing as unwatched (and it was more recent than another on the ATV) then it will sync over to the ATV and be local again and play fine again.
Thing is it doesn't happen all the time. Some stuff will stream fine, other times won't. Real pain and has only been getting worse lately.
Guess I know that the error message of "unrecognized format" is just wrong and it that must be some general message because I know it is in right format.

According to your description, you want to find the recently used tables in tabular tables. Right?
In Excel, the My Apps just shows the Apps which are embedded in Office, it's not related to SSAS tabular at all. SSAS tabular is just a BI feature for SQL Server. Excel can just open a connection to SSAS tabular model and import the data into pivot table
report or something else. If you want to see the recently used data. You may see then in the
Recently Workbooks.
