Is there a 'Free Ware' DVD Player for OS 9.2?

How's everyone?
I'm sprucing up my old G3 Blue & White (mint condition), getting ready to sell it, and I installed a
DVD-R/CD-R drive that I pulled from my G5 1.8 (I've since upgraded the G5 DVD Drive)
The old DVD drive is working great in the G3, and Roxio Toast Lite 5.1 works really well burning CD's
But in regard to the DVD player, do you guys know if there are any 'Free Ware' DVD players out there for OS 9.2?
I did try the 'Apple DVD Player', (within OS 9.2), but I can't get it to work correctly ....

First make sure that your Mac sees the DVD drive in Apple System Profiler.
Then you need to download and install Apple's DVD Player 2.7, then you need to download and install the patch available at this site here: http://www.os9forever.com/DVDPlayer.html
If your DVD drive doesn't show up in ASP or the patched DVD Player 2.7 doesn't work, you may need to hack an Authoring Support file to get your Mac to accept the DVD drive.

All laptop drives are a standard size and any SATA Blu-ray drive will fit. Remove the rear mount and bezel from you old one and mount it on the new one.
Here is a thread where the guy has done the same thing, Huffer has provided a video. It talks about a Dell and it's a little long, but it does eventually get to the part where the front bezel's are change out.

It has been reported that the Sony Blu-ray drives are giving problems, but after reading some of these threads, it sounds more like a software problem.
When you install the drive and boot up, Windows will automatically install the driver(s) for you. HP Media Smart DVD is the only Blu-ray playing software that HP has to offer and it can be problematic.
I would recommend to buy some third party software form ArcSoft or Cyberlink. Keep in mind that Cyberlink makes the software for HP, so if you have problems with MS DVD then they may occur with Cyberlink. You can always use their trial first.

Save it to the desk top and install it from there, not from a temporary folder. If you are using Commodo Fire Wall and/or AVG anti virus software, these have to be disabled before downloading and installing MS DVD.
If you have problems installing MS DVD, post again and there is trick to get it to install.

Can someone tell me where can I download DVD Player for my X61. I like Intervideo but need to pay. My X61 does not have DVD Player. Window Media Player cannot play some of my DVD format.

Download and install the K-Lite Codec Mega Pac. It includes both a video player and dozens of codecs. It will play virtually any video file.

Burned a dvd but, it will not play on my dvd player for tv

I created a slideshow with itunes music added in iphoto. I tried the recommended free "burn for mac" software download. It burned a dvd but, this will not play on my dvd player for tv. What software title can i purchase that will burn my iphoto slideshow to a dvd that will play on typical home dvd player for tv AND on a windows pc?

some dvd players are very picky on what they will play some only
play dvd+r some only dvd-r some can't play dvd+rw and or dvd-rw

Problem is that this file you have downloaded is not the player but just an update.
Usually you should be able to install player designed for Vista and later install this upgrade but, as I can see, Toshiba doesnt offer HD DVD player for Vista 64-bit.

There will be no updates for older versions.
So your choices:
Upgrade to Lightroom 5, or
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Raw files from the RX100 III to DNG format then edit the DNGs in Lightroom 4.4

I am trying to find a DVD player for my television which can play a QuickTime or Final Cut Pro movie which is on a DVD. Do you know one ?
I have a FCP movie (720 x 576 ) transfed to a DVD ( UDF format ).

yes and no. The AppleTV is a terribly crippled product. Seems to have been launched with only a few of its capabilities enabled and then it sort of got forgotten.
Before investing in an AppleTV box, be sure to read the product reviews from the MAcintosh magazines and especially the PC magazines. You want to get objective information about this weirdly limited box.

There may be a couple Apps that may help, but I understand they don't work very well. The best solution would be to contact the owners of the websites and let them know they need to update their site.
The alternative I use, is to download the problem video onto my computer, and convert it to M4V or MP4 format using a program like HandBrake <HandBrake>. Then it can be added to iTunes and synced with the iPad.

The Apple TV is not a DVD player. So if you do not already own a player, then yes you will have to purchase one to view them on your TV.

DVD Player for Apple TV

Recently have thrown out anything that had to do with MS as I wanted to upgrade to a Multi-media environment and got myself the latest Imac together with the Apple TV. Even rewired the complete home to Ethernet ( WIFI is fine for internet but really lacks the perfomance and reliability for streaming ). Overall very impressed with the change and understand why Apple is doing well.
The ironic thing now is that Apple TV works fine for music and photo's ( the wife loves it ) but falls a bit short on the TV part. Getting movies over the internet is not quite an option yet in Belgium as it will consume my monthly budget ( 20Gbps ) in less then a few days instead of a month, at least when one does not want to compromise on the digital quality.
The idea was to simplify the whole audio/video setup ( gone are the days of CD players, Tuners and DVD players ) and the objective is only to have the audio amplifier, flatscreen TV and of course AppleTV.
Question now is, what do I do when the wife goes to the video store around the corner and gets a video for one of these cosy nights. I was somewhat assuming that I could slot this DVD into the iMac and stream it directly over the home ethernet network to the Apple TV. Turns out that after a regular google, that I have to go to a lengthy ripping process before I can stream it or have to watch it directly on the iMac using DVD player ( really ruins the cosy part of the night )
Would love to hear any suggestions on this topic. Ideally I would like to stream movies on apple TV directly on the DVD drive of the iMac.
P.S: If we get this working, my brother will buy the same set-up.

Sorry to have to tell you: This kind of coziness needs some planning ahead. Watch the movie today that you ripped yesterday. There's no way to stream DVDs to ATV.
And for completeness: You're not supposed to rip rental DVDs (though I'm not overly familiar with Belgian law). However I don't think anyone will prosecute you if you rip the DVD for one-time viewing ...

DVD Player for 10.3.9

I just installed a Pioneer DVD/Cd burner drive. Obviously, when I installed OSX it did not recognize a dvd player as I did not have one then. I do now. I can't find a DVD player application. The only one I can find on apple.com is the one for Tiger 10.4 which won't work on 10.3.9.
What can I do to see if my new drive will play DVDs?? Is there a player available for my OS??
