Is there a ghost in our ECC5.0 system?

Hi experts.
We have an ECC5.0 system , several days ago, we tried to check an ABAP dump in our system named "DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND", and now we think the dump should be happened during the background processing with corresponding pop-up screen (program SAPMSSY0 screen 0120) with message "update control".
But this morning when one of our developer used her own notebook and open the notes mail, the pop-up screen with "update control" message pop-up on her screen without opening any SAP system.
It is really a very strange behavior, could anyone have this experience before?

This is realted to your any active control. Can i know the os. If you are using windows then you should update your system with security patches.
If you are using unix system then this message does't come in your server. May be come in your notbook.

thanks for that, but having tried the various options, still not managed to organize a refund, or anything for that matter, been on hold now for 25 minutes, first time was for 17 minutes, spoke to someone who was putting me thorough, to then have automated message saying issue could not be dealt with and it then hung up! been on to live chat and this was posted: -

I have imported the business packages Common Parts 1.2 and Maintenance Technician 1.2 in our portal testsystem (nw7, sps18). after setting up a system with alias SAP_ECC_MANUFACTURING and asigning the role com.sap.pct.erp.maintech.maintenance_technician to my super admin user I can browse through the navigation of this role and all the iviews do what they are supposed to to (e.g. I can call the "Technical Structure View" and create a notification for an object out of the list)...
When assigning the role com.sap.pct.erp.maintech.maintenance_technician to a test user (with the roles and groups from a simple enduser), I get the following error when trying to create anotification (or doing anything else in the technical structure view): There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing": object "notification".
I have checked the permissions in all relevant areas of the PCD. Everywhere there are at least read permissions for everyone. Also I have copied the iView com.sap.pct.erp.common.notification_create to another place in the PCD and added it to the operation "create" of the Business Object "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing.notification" (with the highest priority). But that didn't change anything...
Well, I don't know what else I could do to find out what's wrong. I just hope anyone out there can help me out... )

sorry, but that's not the point. The system with alias "SAP_ECC_MANUFACTURING" is used to call the WD application in the R/3 backend system (which works out pretty fine). The WD application then calls back the portal using the object based navigation technology (OBN). In this case it calls the object SAP_ERP_Manufacturing.notification and tries to execute the iview linked to the action "create" of the object.
And here exactly is the problem that I'm facing. With the super admin user OBN works fine, with an enduser the OBN fails...

Error when transporting Webservice from our DEV system to QA system

Hello, I created a web service from an rfc by following the wizard from Utilities>More Utilities> Create Web Service. This was created in our 030 client of DEV. I had to create two transports one client independent that was the VI and Service and one Client dependent for the actual webservice. I then transported the webservice to our DEV 200 client and all worked well. Next I transported both to our QA box, first the vi/Service transport then the webservice transport. This is not working, in our QA system, from wsadmin when trying to get the wsdl error is Could not determine wsdl address (ICF ERROR) and from wsconfig when I pull up the service definition and variant the status shows a red stop sign. Is there a trick to transporting this webservice to different systems?

I had this problem once and in my case the service wasn't activated in SICF.
so see your service tree under /sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/<your_service> and probably it's inactive (grayed out). right klick and activate it.

XServe Mail Server not receiving emails from our phone system

Hi everyone,
Since late last year, staff haven't been receiving email notificiations to their work email (hosted by a 10.5.8 Xserve) of voice mail received by our 3COM NBX Phone System. However, if they provide any other email account, such as a Gmail account, they receive the email fine.
Our firewall providers have confirmed that there is nothing stopping the emails going in and out on their end. I've checked the server mail logs and can't find anything of value.
According to a forum thread, this is how our mail system sends an off-site notification via email:
1 - NCP performs an MX record lookup using DNS server IP information to return a valid TCP/IP address for each message being sent
2 - NCP acts as an MTA (Message Transfer Agent) - will directly contact each destination mail server for local delivery
3 - NCP establishes a TCP socket to the resolved TCP/IP address on SMTP port 25
4 - NCP must be able to open a TCP session to the resolved IP address of each destination email server
5 - Each destination server the NBX is sending email to may be configured for a rule base and based on certain criteria my reject an email or attachment that other email servers accept.
I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

I've tested the internal settings, the dig as we've established, and I've checked the server logs - they don't seem to show anything relating to the nbx.
The firewall has port 25 open to our mail server and phone system only.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back.

I cannot open your link.
You must be willing to download so you can work offline on them. I don't think you can do that.
Try using IE and make sure to delete all files and cache before you start.

I have been asked to delete around 52000 BDC edits from SM35 in our Prodction system. If i try to do by select all and then perform delte,I recieve a Time out Dump.
Since it is Production, i cannot code a Zprogram or run a session to delte automatically.
Is there a sap program avaiable that can delate this BDC via a background job?

DB Connect Error - There is no table in database system

I am trying to get DB Connect to work in our BI 7.0 system. I believe I have the DB Connect source system setup correctly. In BI, I execute the following steps:
1. Right-click on the DB Source system and select Additional Functions > Select Database Tables (3.x)
2. Enter my DB Source System
3. Check Select Tables and Select Views
4. I get the message 'There is no table in database system'.
Can some please make some suggestions on what I have done wrong?

Whatever the Database user name you define in SAP the views/tables in the DB system should have the same owner.
Ex: If connection between BW and DB is defiend under user SAP1 then the owner of the database should also be SAP1.

Copy contents of DSO from our Production to our DEV system

Is there a process in BW that would allow me to copy the contents of a DSO in our Production environment so I could load the same DSO in our Developement system?

Hi Bill,
There are couple of way by which you can fulfill your requirement.
1) Make Production system as your source system and create DSO as a expert datasource. Then use that datasource in Dev system for loading data into Dev dso.
2) Create RFC function module and read the Prod DSO data from production and load them into direct update DSO in Dev.
3) By using APD (Ref option 2)
4) By means of flat file data source, if volume of data is low.
Many more.

Itunes 11.1.3.8 shows a speaker icon in front of the seclection but it is not playing. the progress bar does not move. there are speakers attached to the system and all other programs do profuce an audio output.

Go to the Edit -> Preferences-> Playback
In The bottom section of the page click the drop down menu by Play Audio Using and select Windows Audio Session or something other than "Direct sound" or whatever it displays. Click Okay. This worked for me! I hope it works for you too!

Portal error in SRM 7.0 -"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM"

We have portal ( SAP EP 7.0) as the front end for SRM 7.0 ,We have integrated SRM with portal through the system alias SAP_SRM.
With the PDP scenario the users are facing the below issue while they try to open any documents ( let it be RFx/contract).
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "cont". For more information, contact your administrator."
We installed the latest JRE (1.6.0.17) in the machine , but it didn't fix the problem. It appears to be a a lorcal issue with the settings in browser as some people ( very few) are able to open the documents.
Any pointers?

Pls check the portal content and portal roles with iviews maintained properly or not.
