Is there a good EASY RSS app for Maverick

I use RSS feeds a lot and since Maverick update, have not found a good app.  I really miss that Maverick does not allow RSS receipts in mail.

There are numerous RSS applications in the App Store. Go shopping. You can also search on MacUpdate.

  • Is there a good music player app for windowsphone? I can't get media player to sync with my phone.

I want something where I can buy music online and sync to my surface pro and Nokia Icon like Itunes, I was using Amazon cloud player on my Android but now I have the Windows phone instead and it seems they have no support for Windows phone. Anything like that available for windows phone. I was hoping I could use windows media player but I can't find it for windows phone, is that possible? seems very odd there is no WMP for Windows phone.

Xbox music comes standard on your Windows Phone and as part of Windows 8.X.
There is also a Nokia music service for your phone and a corresponding app for Windows 8.X.
There are be others, including an apps  that may access iTunes. (I have never used iTunes)
Get creative in your searches in the Store on your phone and the store on your Windows 8 computer.

  • Are There Any Good Windows Store Apps For Managing AD Users?

I'm thinking of buying the $79 HP Stream 7 tablets (1GB RAM 16GB storage) and using them as pocket computers to manage AD users while walking about.
We could simply run Remote Desktop to access our workstations and use RSAT tools, but it would be nicer if there was a touch friendly interface we could use on a 7 inch screen to easily do tasks such unlock and reset user passwords without dealing with remote
controlling another PC through the tiny desktop UI.

    > Very sad and embarassing for Microsoft that they don't have any touch
    > based RSAT tools and third party developers don't bother to make them
    > either.
Move from OnPremise to O365 and you will have an admin app at hand... I
cannot imagine what administrative tasks in active directory I would
need to be able to execute on a mobile device...

  • Is there a good file encryption app for iPad2?

I am looking for an app to encrypt text notes of private information on the iPad2. Does anyone know of such an app?
    Thanks,
    APS Csontos

Well, while I do agree with Chris's sentiment, just let me expand by saying I know of no app which will work on any content aside from that created in the app (iOS doesn't work that way) and, in addition, the encryption protocols used in the various apps will probably be specific only to that app and make content readable only to it, or through it.
If that meets your needs then go for it.

  • Looking for a good movie maker app for iPad 1

    Hi Everybody-
I am looking for a good Photo/Movie maker for the iPad 1. Something that I can add Photos/Movies together and add some songs and have editing capabilities for all of it and possiabily export it as well to my PC to burn to DVD/CD.
So if anybody can give my recomondations, I'd really appriciate it.There some good ones, but not for the iPad 1. So I wanted to get all of your suggestions so I can narrow down my search. Please let me know if you need further information as well.
Thanks so much for your time.
    Sincerely- Douglas

There are no movie maker apps in the App Store that will work well on the iPad 1, it just doesn't have enough RAM. If you read the reviews for the Avid app in the App Store everyone with an iPad 1 is complaining about it. iMovie, as you probably already knew, does not have a version for the iPad 1.
Wait for the iPad 3 and then set about making movies, the 1 (which I also have) just does not have the horsepower for what you want to do.

  • Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap). Any ideas?

Are there any good DVD authoring programs for Mac now that Apple has discontinued DVD Studio and iDVD? I need to make DVDs that have interactive menus and such (Final Cut X and Compressor 4's DVD option is a little cheap and doesn't provide any kind of professional DVD authoring). Any ideas?

This comes up a lot these days.
Practically speaking, there are really four options for the Mac platform: Toast (<$100),  Adobe Premier Productiom ($1,600 to buy or $50/month to rent),  find a copy of Final Cut Studio from 3rd  party (+/- $1,000 new) or a boxed edition of iLife to get iDVD ($50 - $90 on Amazon new).
The other question everyone has is how many OS versions before iDVD or FCS breaks? No one knows, but Apple has said they're no longer supporting these legacy apps. Of course, no one is mandated to upgrade to a new OS unless they buy a new computer. So if it works on a system, stay with it as long as it makes sense.
    Good luck.

  • I was wondring if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a macbookpro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome, safari, firefox net environment. thanks on yourhelp

I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up  the computer from malware, phinishing apps, adware, and othere malicious softwares and make it run faster while booting, on startup and while surfing web. I am using a Macbook pro  with IOS10.8.5, under chrome, safari, firefox net environment. thanks on your help

I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up ...
There is no such thing, since the problems you are describing can have various causes. Seeking anything claiming to "clean" your Mac is asking for trouble, since all of those products are scams, whether they are "free" or not.
If you are having trouble with your Mac, describe what it is. Be as specific as possible. For general recommendations read below.
There will always be threats to your information security associated with using any Internet - connected communications tool:
You can mitigate those threats by following commonsense practices
Delegating that responsibility to software is an ineffective defense
Assuming that any product will protect you from those threats is a hazardous attitude that is likely to result in neglecting point #1 above.
OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources.
Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
"Questionable sources" include but are not limited to spontaneously appearing web pages or popups, download hosting sites such as C net dot com, Softonic dot com, Soft pedia dot com, Download dot com, Mac Update dot com, or any other site whose revenue is primarily derived from junk product advertisements.
If you need to install software that isn't available from the Mac App Store, obtain it only from legitimate sources authorized by the software's developer.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iCloud, iTunes, or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose:Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
The same precaution applies to Adobe Flash Player. Newly discovered Flash vulnerabilities appear almost weekly.
Beware spontaneous popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check "Block popup windows".
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but unsolicited popups are commonly used to deceive people into installing unwanted software they would never intentionally install.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever receive a popup window indicating that your Mac is infected with some ick or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
The same goes for a spontaneously appearing dialog insisting that you upgrade your video player right this instant. Such popups are frequently associated with sites that promise to deliver "free" movies or other copyrighted content that is not normally "free".
The more insistent it is that you upgrade or install something, the more likely it is to be a scam. Close the window or tab and forget it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. Most of these attempts are pathetic and are easily recognized, but that hasn't stopped prominent public figures from recently succumbing to this age-old scam.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • Looking for a good antivirus/antimalware app for iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2

As the subject implies, I'm Looking for a good antivirus/antimalware app for iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.2.  Don't care if it costs $$ just want something that works.  I've been searching around and installed a couple things but they don't seem to be what I was expecting.  Thought I'd find out what others are using.

Thanks, the problem is I'm getting spam (spoofing) that is from me saying it was sent from my iPhone with my iPhone signature.  Ive reset my password on my mail, but that's pretty sketchy either way.  And it's being sent to my contacts as well.  Trying to eliminate all the possibilities and this is my first iPhone so I'm still a noob.
Sadly, spoofing doesn't really require much hacking, All a spammer would need to use your email address for spoofing would be your email address. If it's also being sent to your contacts, your email account may well have been hacked. But that would have happened on the server level. Your phone wouldn't have been involved. Unfortunately, once the miscreants have your contact list, changing your password will not get that back. Changing the  password to something strong may help prevent future misuse.
    Best of luck.

  • I am looking for a good Call Blocking App for my iPhone 5...any suggestions??

I am in need of a good call blocking app for iPhone....please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

As Randy Landry1 says, Google for "silent ringtone", download and install on you iPhone as a ringtone.
Now create a contact for the offending phone number. Assign the contact to the silent ringtone and set no vibrate.
When that number calls it will not ring, nor vibrate. It will light up the screen, but if you do not see that, it will not bother you. They could leave voice mail, but that is easily deleted.
And if it is a situation where the are violating the do not call list, you can use the missed call log to report the number to the FTC.
Also, if the calls are abusive or threading, and the leave a voice mail, you something to show the police.

  • Is there a good website creation app on the iPad, or should I save up and get a MacBook to use RapidWeaver/iWeb?

Is there a good website creation app on the iPad, or should I save up and get a MacBook to use RapidWeaver/iWeb?

Wasn't being condescending, this is a new thead that continues one he already started asking if he could get iWeb on the iPad. Two people explained to him that iWeb was being discontinued (along with MobileMe) and suggested Rapidweaver and two other apps as replacements. It was also explained to him that there were no web creation apps on the iPad because you need to run a local web server, such as Apache, on your computer in order to use them. This is why they work on the Mac because it does have such a server. The iPad does not have one and cannot run one. And I suggested using HTML code if he wanted to develop on his iPad.
You were aware that is how web creation software works?
    Here is the other thread:
