Is there a good video available for beginners which will show what Photoshop can do?

I'm trying to find a good video which will give a general introduction to what Photoshop can do - not how to do it - for a group of beginners at our local photographic society.
Ideally I'm looking for something which lasts 15 - 20 minutes and will demonstrate how Photoshop can be used for correcting and manipulating images, plus a short section on how it can be used more creatively.
Is anyone aware of such a video which is preferably free to use (with obvious credits), and where it's available from?

There are multiuser/multiplatform apps that you can use to manage your photos that can view multiple source photos.  I use  Media Pro 1.  However, you can't use iPhoto and MP on the same set of original/source image files.
I use MP as my primary DAM (digital asset management) application and iPhoto just for special projects like books, calendars, cards, etc.

www.kirupa.com has one (loads external images)
    and www.gotoandlearn.com might have one.

The training videos on the Adobe distribution disks (or on line at http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/video_workshop/) may help, too.

What is a good video converter for iMac?  Premiere 6 will not capture from the Canon VIXIA HF G20.

Rather than convert, you'd be better off capturing with a more current version of the program -- one that supports AVCHD video. Otherwise, you're in for a lot of headache. A converter isn't going to solve your problems.
BTW, when you say Premiere 6, do you mean Premiere 6 -- which is over 10 years old? (There was no Premiere Elements 6.)
Trust me on this: Capture with a Mac version of Premiere Elements 11 or 12 and your video will be perfectly compatible with any Mac program.

  • There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing"...

    Hi out there,
I have imported the business packages Common Parts 1.2 and Maintenance Technician 1.2 in our portal testsystem (nw7, sps18). after setting up a system with alias SAP_ECC_MANUFACTURING and asigning the role com.sap.pct.erp.maintech.maintenance_technician to my super admin user I can browse through the navigation of this role and all the iviews do what they are supposed to to (e.g. I can call the "Technical Structure View" and create a notification for an object out of the list)...
When assigning the role com.sap.pct.erp.maintech.maintenance_technician to a test user (with the roles and groups from a simple enduser), I get the following error when trying to create anotification (or doing anything else in the technical structure view): There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing": object "notification".
I have checked the permissions in all relevant areas of the PCD. Everywhere there are at least read permissions for everyone. Also I have copied the iView com.sap.pct.erp.common.notification_create to another place in the PCD and added it to the operation "create" of the Business Object "SAP_ERP_Manufacturing.notification" (with the highest priority). But that didn't change anything...
Well, I don't know what else I could do to find out what's wrong. I just hope anyone out there can help me out... )
    Best Regards
    Juergen Kuechle.

    Hi Thulasi,
sorry, but that's not the point. The system with alias "SAP_ECC_MANUFACTURING" is used to call the WD application in the R/3 backend system (which works out pretty fine). The WD application then calls back the portal using the object based navigation technology (OBN). In this case it calls the object SAP_ERP_Manufacturing.notification and tries to execute the iview linked to the action "create" of the object.
And here exactly is the problem that I'm facing. With the super admin user OBN works fine, with an enduser the OBN fails...
    Regards, Juergen.

I have a hard time understanding why I can't contact support about THEIR problem. I plugged my iPhone into my pc. iTunes came up. It said there was an update available for the phone. I accepted that. Clicked on the "download only" because I didn't have the time to install it at that point. It downloaded but didn't stop. It continued to the 'backing up your iPhone' segment then froze. I waited at least an hour with no change. Finally I unplugged my phone..iTunes wasn't responding.I rebooted my pc then tried the same thing again. Same outcome even though I let it "Back Up" for 7-8 hrs while I slept. Same Story...............         iTunes 10.4.0.80 is the software I'm using. When my phone is 'plugged' in what I see on it's face is "Sync in Progress".....for hours!

  • My iPod touch is a model MB528LL running version 4.2.1.  I would like to download the At Bat 12 App (the $14.99 version) so I can listen to professional baseball games this year.  Will there be an app. available for my iPod?

My iPod touch is a model MB528LL and runs version 4.2.1.  I would like to download the At Bat 12 app. (the $14.99 version) so I can listen to professional baseball games this year.  Will there be an app. available for my iPod this year?

I went to the link you posted and followed all the steps.  I was thrilled to see that it worked!  I don't recall whether my PC still recognized my iPod Touch as a camera or not, but DEVICES did show up in iTunes and it recognized the name of my iPod Touch.
Now, though, everything is back the way it was.  The PC tells me I have a camera connected via USB and iTunes doesn't even have DEVICES listed in the left-hand column.
I'm wondering if this is the problem:  I had the iPod on until the battery was so "low" that it stopped.  I didn't press and hold the button on top.  In fact, until I read the article you linked to, I didn't even know you could turn the iPod on and off that way.  I would only press it once until the screen turned blank and simply pressed the Home buttom to turn it back on.  Until I read that article, I thought the Home button was the On button.
So now my question is this:  Should I ALWAYS turn the iPod off by pressing and holding the button on top until I see the red slider on the screen?
    Thanks!

There is no iView available for system "SAP_ERP_HumanResources": object "employee". For more information, contact your administrator.

Siddharth's response and the SAP Note he mentioned were both very helpful. I received the exact same error message in a different scenario. While the fix was likely different than the one needed in this specific case, it occurs often in custom MSS and HR Admin roles and I hope this helps someone else out. In my case I needed to add the Pages shown below to my Workset and mark them as invisible.

    Hi Deepti,
Thank you very much for u r quick reply.
I didnu2019t create any custom roles for RFx in Portal side and SRM side also; we are using standard roles provided by SAP. I checked all the iViews which are needed for the Role (in this case u201CStrategic Purchaseu201D role) those are existed in u201CNavigationu201D folder. Should I create custom role and have to assign required iViews to that to rectify this problem?

On the detail screen - there is collumn called Form Steps which shows all the steps in the Process . When I click on the one of the steps I get another another browser window with the following error

I have checked in the Business Objects and in the employee object I am not sure which iView gets called when u click on the steps link
Need your help in this regards.
    Regards,
    Akshay ..

    Hi Akshay,
We have got the same issue and now it is resolved.
    1. It's a known issue and SAP is providing a solution with 7.01 SP6 release. (check sap note 1386141)
    2. In order to have workaround for below SP versions, You have to deploy the par file. ("objbased.par for 7.01 SP5").
    3. First, please backup the old "com.sap.portal.navigation.objbased.par" PAR file, from the file system directory:
    ...\j2ee\cluster\serverX\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\
deployment\temp (you will find it with a .bak suffix...)
    4. Deploy the par file into your portal using the "Archive Uploader tool:
          - Navigate to 'System Administration' -> 'Support' -> 'Portal Runtime'
-> in the "Portal Anywhere" Admin Tools section, navigate to
'Administration Console' -> use the 'Archive Uploader' to deploy it.
    5. After deploying the file, please recheck the scenario.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I'm using SRM 7.0 and i'm facing the following problem:
When we try to open an existing shopping cart:
"There is no iView available for system "SAP_SRM": object "sc". For more information, contact your administrator. "
This issue happens when a Purchaser click on any shopping cart number in the Purchasing overview screen.
It's working fine in the standard role, but i created a new role with some delta links to objects but it's not working.
I checked the permission on the system SAP_SRM and on the objects they are all:
    Name: Everyone (grouoe)
    Adminstrator: none
    User: checked
The system alias SAP_SRM is well defined and the connection to this system works fine.
    Any hint for me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Thomas

It had to do with OBN.
I copied the role but deleted a folder called "Navigation". But all the iViews to wich the shopping cart needed to navigate were linked under that folder.
So just copied again the role but this time without deleting the Navigation folder...and away was the problem
