Is there any quality App for the iPhone 4S similar to Google Wallet or does Apple now support Google Wallet?  thanks

    SOLVED!!!!!
    This is the app:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dictionary.appender/id650562573?mt=8
I emailed the maker of the app and he said to just follow these instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094
File share the .dictionary file to your ipad and then add it from the list of addable languages.  It took a minute for it to show up on my ipad but it DID work.  It is working with iBooks.
    Happy reading.
Thanks for the help and suggestions.

  • Is there an app for the iPhone that allows you to syncronize alarm clocks or even set an alarm for you friend?

Is there an app for the iPhone that allows you to syncronize alarm clocks or even set an alarm for you friend?
Would appreciate if someone could help me with this. It doesn't have to be a free app.
    Thanks!

Since there is no "drafts" folder on an iPhone for SMS's, not sure how something like that would work anyway. You can always copy to the notes app, then paste back yourself.

  • Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.

Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.
All of the apps I have found on the App store either do not have the text to speech capability or if they have it they will only read a page at a time or simply read the text you paste into their window. I really do not understand what is so difficult about having this feature as Kindle provides it--though Amazon does not make the feature available on its iPhone 4 app.
    Please help.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.

  • Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes?

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track.  However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone.  I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone.  I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets.  I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything.  I hope we can find something.

  • Is there a phone application for the iphone that is more Senior friendly then the Apple app that comes with it?

My Dad who is 81 is finding his iphone difficult to use. At first I was surprised that he struggles to use it. He had no problems using his old style cell phone. But after trying to teach him how to use the iphone I can now see why he struggles with it.  If the phone could have the features I've listed below it would make things so much easier for him.
    1) With the exception of incoming phone calls, the phone app always opens to the same screen. This screen gives the choices of Favorites, Recents, Contacts, Keyboard and Voicemail  in big blocks in the center of the screen.
    2) There is a setting for the speaker so that it can be set to always be on. If the user doesn't want the speaker for a particular call or voice mail message  there is a  button on the screen to turn it off temporarily on the upper right corner.
    3) The dot button used to listen to a voicemail message is a bigger dot. And it remains visible after listening to the message. It changes color rather then completely disappearing after listening to the message.
    4) The upper left corner is reserved for only edit or to navigate back buttobs.  The phone app has a greeting button in this spot on the Voicemail screen. A better place for recording a greeting would be in settings.

  • Why isnt there a facetime app for the iphone 4s?

Because all my friends have the app and my phone doesn't....

Your friends must have a ipod.
I read the manual for my iphone and it said that the facetime app is merged with the phone app so when you click on the phone app and click on a contact it should say facetime!
WARNING: make sure your friends have facetime setup!

  • Since Apple already has a SMS/MMS app for the iPhone, which can be used over WiFi, can the same app be installed on the iPad 2?

I have an iPhone 3GS, and realized I do most of my SMS/MMS messaging at home, when connected to my WiFi. Then I began to think, if I'm using the messaging app over WiFi, can the SAME app (which, personally I like much better than the third party apps) be installed on the iPad 2 (which I'm still waiting from back order)?

    Incorrect.
SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.
"Dumb" phones or phones not in the smart category that don't have internet access in any shape, form, or fashion can exchange SMS/MMS.
Since SMS/MMS (a poor man's email with cell phones since it is very limited) is a cash cow for carriers and very profitable, why wouldn't cell phone carriers be interested in including SMS/MMS as an additional option (and of course at an additional expense) with a data plan only for the iPad? They certainly are interested in it but they can't since SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.
Get me the IPAD SMS app
Take your whining someplace else. The self-entitlement displayed here by some is laughable.

  • Reader app for the iPhone

What is a good app for the iPhone that allows users to read PDFs?
Specifically, I have a form that I created in LiveCycle, and folks cannot read the completed form on their iPhones. (I posted a questions about this on the LiveCycle forum, but never got an answer.)
    Thank you!
    Cindy

One of our people in the field told me that he could open the completed form on his iPhone and read it, and he did so with Reader.
I'm going to try to install that on the other iPhone and see if it works.
Now, if it works, does that mean that I didn't create a XFA form?
    Thank you!

  • What is the best GPS app for an iPhone 4s?

What is the best GPS app for an iPhone 4s?

There are several things to consider.  For instance many GPS apps download maps on the fly.  If you don't have an unlimited cellular data plan this can use a lot of your data allotment.  Other apps like Tom Tom and CoPilot Live save all the maps on the device.  The maps will take up a lot of memory on your iPhone.  I use CoPilot Live Premium and the maps take up about 2GB of memory.
Then there is a matter of cost.  Most apps that download maps on the fly are free or a very low cost.  The ones that store the maps on the iPhone generally cost more.
I use Copilot Live Premium HD US because it gives me all the features I need for a relatively low cost, about $20 USD.

  • Is there an App for the iPad that will show my GPS position on a world map, even if I'm at sea?

Is there and App for the iPad that will show mu GPS position on a world map, even if I'm at sea?
    Thanks,

GPS will show your position anywhere if your device has unobstructed view of the GPS satellites. The issue is that you must find a maps/charts that include all areas of the sea.
There is no mobile data connection required to use GPS on land or sea. Once again your issue is the availability of downloadable maps/charts for the areas you will be traveling.
Sorry, but you can't install an app like NAVIGON on an iPad without 3G cellular data connection:
    copied from NAVIGON app:
...can be installed on any iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4S, iPhone5 or iPad device (the navigation function is only available on the iPad WiFi+3G)
Can I navigate with my mobile phone?
Answer:In principle yes. For mobile phones there are both Onboardnavigation solutions and Offboardnavigation solutions.
The following requirements must be fulfilled:
    •     The software must support the mobile phone. NAVIGON software
always comes with a compatibility list. The software is guaranteed
to work only for the mobile phones on this list.
    •     The mobile phone must have a GPS receiver. Many new mobile
phones come with a built-in GPS receiver. Otherwise you can use
an external GPS receiver which is connected to the mobile phone
           by cable or Bluetooth.
    •     It should be noted that an offboard solution incurs costs for using
the mobile phone network to communicate with the provider's server.

  • Is there an iCloud Drive app for the iPhone?

Is there an iCloud Drive app for the iPhone?  I have a 5c that's running 8.0.2.
I was able to install iCloud Drive on my pc.  I placed some files out there and would like to view them on my iPhone but I can't seem to find the iCloud Drive app in the app store.
There appears to be an iCloud Drive app according to the pictures here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/icloud-drive/.
Is the app not available yet?

I've had an android phone since they first came out.  Verizon took forever to get the iphone and by the time they did, I was so used to having a phone with a big screen and was already on a 4g device and I didn't want to take a step back to 3g and a smaller screen so I never gave apple a try.  I recently sold my android phone in preparation for the next android phone release and I broke my temporary phone trying to it's replace it's cracked glass (something that's much easier to do on an iphone btw) so I had to find another temp phone.  With the release of the iphone 6/6+ and everyone going so crazy about it, I decided to borrow a friend's old 5c for a month to see what all the hype was about when it comes to iphones while I wait for my android phone to come in.  So far I can honestly say aside from a few things here and there, I haven't really felt like there's much of a difference to warrant the flame wars that I see on android vs apple.  Some things work better on iOS for sure but there are some things I'm used to doing on android that I can't do on iOS. I really like it's overall simplistic feeling.  The people on the far left and far right in terms of apple over android or android over apple and their arguments are pretty comical to me now that I've had some exposure to both.
Anyway in terms of the iCloud drive, from everything I've read it looks like it'll be identical to Google Drive which I've been using for years but without an app, it's definitely confusing on how I get to my documents and photos that I've stored on my iCloud Drive.  With android, before the app I could go to the desktop site for google drive and access my documents.  When I try to go to icloud drive from safari on my phone, it automatically takes me to "set up icloud tutorial" even though it's already set up on my phone.  I'm happy to find that I'm not the only one that's confused by apple's description of the implementation and what's actually implemented.
I still have a few weeks before I get my android, but I'd be lying if said I haven't considered cancelling my preorder of the note 4 and grabbing a 6+ to give an iphone more than a months trial.  I mean in the end, people buy iphone's like candy so it's not like I'd be stuck if I end up ultimately not liking it.
Thanks for your responses, hopefully they implement it's full functionality while I still have time to decide one way or another.

Is there a Text Expander-type app for the iPhone?

oh, sorry. I'm pretty sure there is not anything out yet like that.
There are other apps like that you will just have to use them for each job you are doing.
Another one is called Text Editor, Write Pad, etc...
