Is there a Graphic Pen Tablet that...

Is there a Graphic Pen Tablet that you don't move around by hovering the tip of the pen over the surface? I had one that I did not like that you had to hover the tip over the surface. Touching the surface was only for pressure brushes. Is there a tablet where you can just drag the tip of the pen on the surface to move it around? I find this much more precise.

I don't know of any tablet where you can't touch the pen to the surface. What tablet did you use that you were told, or thought, that you had to hover the pen above the surface of the tablet? Perhaps the pressure sensitivity was just set too high or something was wrong with the tablet.
Wacom tablets are generally felt to be of very high quality and are the ones I encounter most frequently.

  • IPad as graphic pen tablet?

I have illustrator on my mac and own an iPad 3 and graphics pen.
Is there anyway that the iPad can functional as Wacom tablet instead of buying one?
Thank you (and apologies or what is probably a dumb question)
    Genevieve

    1) Wacom Tablets read pressure as you draw. The iPad, thus far, can not do this. There are styluses such as the Jot Stylus which reads pressure. But in my experience it's not the same, or really even close to a Wacom tablet. And heck, if you're going to spend $100 on a Jot Stylus, you'd do better by spending that $100 on a Wacom Bamboo tablet.
    2) The iPad's major issue where drawing is concerened is the need to hover over the tablet surface and only touch the tablet with the stylus. Most humans who draw rest their hand on the surface and draw. You can't do that with an iPad. Spend a day NEVER touching your desk with your wrist or forearm. How long can you work that way? Yes, you can wear a glove to prevent the hand being read by the screen, provided you don't mid that option. And this may not be a big issue if using a more non-traditional set up, such as the iPad on your lap while sitting on the couch and a laptop sitting on the coffee table in front of you.
That being posted, there are apps such as SplashTop, or LogMeIn, for iOS which allow you to log in and control a Mac with an iPad. There are also apps such as MobileMouse which will turn the iPad into, essentially, a big trackpad for the Mac. You can use these apps to control the mouse on the Mac.
So theoretically, yes, you could do what you want. I've tried all these and they do function. The problem arises when there is even a millisecond of delay between the iPad and the Mac. Even a millisecond can feel like a long time where mouse movement is concerned. And, as I've posted, you don't get any pressure, tilt, rotation, readings from the iPad which Wacom tablets do.
You can try it free, just download the iOS apps and the supporting Mac software needed (the iOS apps tell you what to download). But, I suspect you'll find it horribly lacking, especially if you've ever used an actual Wacom tablet, or even one of the other, cheaper, drawing tablets.

  • Is there a Drawing Tablet that works with iPad?

I have been looking all over for this and every search result pops up with "how to use iPad as a Drawing Tablet" which is what I don't want to know. I want to know if there is a drawing tablet that can function with iPad/iOS to provide a more accurate drawing and image editing experience. I know there are styli that work with iPad but I don't want to spend money on giant pens that look very innaccurate. I want to use the iPad as the display and the drawing tablet as the input.

It's unlikely to happen.  Instead, buy one of these non-giant devices:  http://justgosmart.com/stylus/

  • Cinema LED 24" and Cintiq pen tablet same time connection???

Does anybody tryed to connect LED sinema display (via mini-display port and one USB), and active graphic pen tablet (Wacom Cintiq) as second display simultaneously?? Both devices required DVI or mini-display, how to separate a data signal to different monitors?? My application - retouch in Photoshop CS4, thanks in advance!

For what you want to do, it is not possible through one mini-display/dvi port as the graphics card can only handle 1 output at a time. Check out this little device. It'll turn one usb port into an average quality video output. I have my second Cinema display running off one of these. I wouldn't recommend playing games or anything on these though because the output frame rate is much too low. Check it out.

  • Applying an ink signature with a pen tablet

I have a bamboo pen tablet that I use to apply signatures to pdf documents.  However, the signatures are in red, and I can't find any way to change the pen color.  Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

Found it!  Go to the comment and markup menu and then...
"To specify the line width, color, and other properties before you draw, right-click the drawing tool, choose Properties, and set the desired options in the Properties dialog box."

  • Is there a tablet that is compatible with aperture 3?

I have been looking for a tablet that would be compatible with aperture 3.  I talked with someone that was familiar with macs and they didn't think there was one at all.  I really don't want to use photoshop... I'm happy with aperture.  Thanks guys!!

    Any Wacom tablet will work.
The Intuos line tablets have a few unique feature advantages over the Bamboo line, but Aperture doesn't take advantage of any of those features.
Aperture WILL take advantage of the fact that tablets are "pressure sensitive" -- so if you're applying a brushed on adjustment.  Say you're using the "burn" brush to darken an area --  a very light touch will apply a slight amount of "burn" but heavy pressure will apply a much stronger amount of "burn."
If you're buying a tablet *just* for Aperture, then save yourself a few bucks and buy a tablet in the Bamboo line. If you also need support for drawing & painting apps, then spring for the more expensive Intuous line.
    (Emphasis added.)
This is mildly misleading.  Aperture takes full advantage of all but two of the Intuos4's additional functions.
As I point out below, for these reasons I don't agree with Tim's recommendation.
The Intuos4 is, compared to the Bamboo Pen & Touch (all based on specs at Wacom's site):
    2x more accurate
    0.5x more responsive
2x more sensitive to pressure, and
    2x higher in resolution
All of those are taken advantage of by Aperture.  Additionally, the Intuos4 comes with the TouchRing and  six ExpressKeys, all of which can be easily programmed to execute Aperture commands.  (The Bamboo has 4 ExpressKeys and no TouchRing.)  Also, the Intuos4 includes the fully programmable Radial Menu, which can be a workflow accelerator for Aperture.  (This may be available on the Bamboo -- I just don't know.)
My recommendation is that, if your are regularly going to use a tablet for making Adjustments and using Aperture, get the Intuos4 Medium.  It that is outside your budget, get the Intuos4 Small.  If you are only going to occasionally use the tablet with Aperture (or only occasionally use Aperture), the Bamboo Pen & Touch may suffice.
Note, as well, that Wacom's software bundles often completely change the value of some of their products.

  • Is there a tablet that has similar options as PC?

I want to buy tablet for my sister ....I would like to know if there is a tablet that is the most similar to a PC , in that ...it should run flash so she can see videos on any website not, or listen to music anywhere not just youtube ...to have same abilities as a PC just in a tablet . ipad was my first choice but they dont run flash they have their own movies and music websites...and ATT ughhh.
Please recomend me something fast her birthday is in 15 days .
    Thank you

First, there are ways to play flash movies on the iPad...just not supported by Apple.
Secondly, each of the major carriers have tablets that are compatible with their network.
Music can be synched and stored on the tablet, like an ipod, so you don't have to have 3G or WI-Fi to listen to music.  You just put your favorite music on the device. and listen to it whenever.
You can download content from just about any source that is open (hulu, pandora, etc).  Devices are not locked to the manufacturer or vendor websites.
Suggest you spend some time googling the various tablets available and see which one you think would best suit her needs.
If you find my post useful or informative, please click the icon below with the plus sign and star to give kudos. Thank you!

  • Why can't there be a simple utility that shows me which device connected to my Airport is using how much of the bandwidth in a simple graphical or stats format without requiring me to be a level 10 Black Belt or Chuck Norris' paternal tooth fairy?

Why can't there be a simple utility that shows me which device connected to my Airport is using how much of the bandwidth in a simple graphical or stats format without requiring me to be a level 10 Black Belt or Chuck Norris' paternal tooth fairy?
I need to see who is consuming the most bandwidth and limit that user/device. A very simple and dare I say it, legal, moral, and normal wish.

They are not overloading the Airport. They are overwhelming the capacity of your Internet connection.
No. It's not "shared equally". That's not how packet switched networks function.
Most consumer grade routers do not have the ability to restrict bandwidth use on a per machine basis. You need relatively expensive (but readily available) equipment to do that.
How many people are on the network? It can't be that hard to hunt them down.

  • Is there a graphics card that will be compatible in my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook (model dv2419us)?

?Is there a graphics card that will be compatible in my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook (model dv2419us)? - This notebook has Windows 7 Home Premium.
    - I was looking to take the free upgrade to WIndows 10 - I requested the reservation.
    - Initial response was to wait for downloads would be available.
    - Just got the message that it is not compatible with Windows 10 because it has an Nvidia Go GeForce 6150 graphics card.
    - I contacted Nvidia about a card that would be comaptible with WIndows 10.
    - Response was that couldn't recomment a replacement, and to contact HP.
    - Does anyone know if there is a graphics card replacement for the HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook that would make it compatible with Windows 10?
...Or is my only option to not upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new laptop?

Hi there ,  Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I understand that you are inquiring about a Graphics Card Replacement.  Unfortunately the Graphics Cards are not replaceable on the HP Pavilion dv2000 Notebook PC. They are attached directly to the motherboard. The only way to replace a Graphics Card  would be to replace the whole Motherboard.  Hope I answered your question.  Have a great day!

  • After installing Yosemite, I got this message 'this version of Pen Tablet Preference is not compatible with this version of OS X i.e. my Wacom Tablet software. Do I have to a new Wacom Tablet or is there a way to update my existing software for it?

After installing Yosemite, I got this message 'this version of Pen Tablet Preference is not compatible with this version of OS X ie my Wacom Tablet Software. Can it be made compatible without buying a new Wacom Tablet?

Ive just downloaded a Driver update from Wacom for my Tablet so hopefully this has resolved this problem.

  • Elements 7 - Where are my pen tablet options???

    Hi.
I use a Wacom Bamboo pen tablet for editing my pictures on my Notebook. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. In the editor of PSE 5 I always could adjust tablet-options (for the brush tool for example). Now that I updatet to PSE 7 these tablet options seem to have gone. There's nothing there to click on in the options-bar of the brushtool to get access to the tablet-options.
The tablet itself is working just fine. For some days I had PSE 5 and PSE 7 installed parallel, and in the editor of PSE 5 the tablet-options were editable - just like they should.
To make sure the problem didn't arise from he parallel installation of PSE 5 and PSE 7 or an old driver, I deinstalled PSE 5 AND 7, reinstalled PSE 7 and updated the driver of the pen tablet. Didn't solve anything.
Is there some general option that has to be activated, to get access to the tabletoptions or is this a known problem?
I would appreciate any hint. Thanks.
By the way: If there are typos or other mistakes in this posting I apologize. English isn't my mothertongue. But I hope, I could make my problem understandable.

OMG. Sometimes it would just help to open the eyes and to try each and every graphic element before calling for help...
This is really one of these Homer Simpson "D'Oh"-Moments. I did see this arrow, but though it would belong to the icon on its left as an indicator of a dropdown-menu. That's why I didn't try it.
Thank you very much for your help!

You have posted in the wrong forum since your state program is Photoshop Elements 8. You have posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing) and not the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum.
Please repost your thread in the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum
