Is there a hardware router that will work with lookout?

I am looking for a good secure setup for protecting a Win2000 system running lookout 4.5. What is the best way to accomplish this?
Thanks David

David,
You can use any hardware router as long as it satisfies one of two requirements:
1) That there is no built-in firewall in the router
or
2) There is a firewall, but certain ports have been enabled. For more information about firewalls and networking Lookout, please see the developer's zone tutorial entitled "Networking Lookout or The LabVIEW DSC Module Across Firewalls"

  • Is there a new adapter that will work with iphone 4s to hdmi with ios 8 update

Hi just wondering if there is an adapter out there that will work with the new IOS 8 update -- iphone 4s to HDMI.  Ever since I updated mine will not work.  Same thing for the iPad mini.  I want to purchase my daughters the iPad Mini for Christmas but will not unless there is an adapter capable of doing this.

This is not my problem. However, I think it may be related to an old speaker. I was using the 30 pin adapter for about a week after the upgrade to 7.1.2. But I think with the update the speaker won't work anymore. I will try with a new speaker system. Thank you for trying to assist.

I have an old IMAC using 10.5, and it cannot use any newer operating system. I need a new printer, but I cannot find one that is compatible with this old system.
Is there a new printer out there that will work with 10.5?

  • Is there ANY wireless mouse that will work with the iPad 2 and Apple's Wireless Keyboard?

I have the iPad 2 and Apple's Wireless Keyboard and would like to purchase a wireless mouse that will accommodate my Apple products. I do understand that Apple's Magic Mouse is not compatible with the iPad 2, but would like to hear if there is any possibility that i could use a wireless mouse with my iPad.
      Thanks :)

You don't have to purchase a mouse. You already have one, it's wireless and the only one that will work on an iPad.

Is there any cassette adapter that works with an Ipod Touch 4th Generation?  I just got the Ipod Touch 4G and the cassette adapter I have that worked with my other Ipod says it is not compatible with the Touch 4g.  Any suggestions?

It should work since from my knowledge the output from the headphone jack has not changed. Is the plug fully inserted into the jack?

  • Cisco or Linksys DSL router that will work with Windows XP Pro?

Any suggestions for a CISCO or LINKSYS DSL router to replace a Zyxel (Century Link) PK5001Z? System is Windows XP Pro, 20 wireless and wired devices connected (including 6 CISCO WVC210 IP cameras ). The Zyxel forwards as many ports as I want, but will only open a limited number of the ports. This limits my access thru the internet (local network sees all cameras). Zyxel support is unable to help.

Hi Edward, if you're looking for a modem/router combo device, Cisco offers the SRP500 series. However this product is EOS/EOL. The small business product line does not have any other DSL termination router aside the SRP series. If your goal is to use a DSL modem and then have a router, you may want to consider RV325 router as it is very feature rich and quite robust.

  • Can I update my OS if I have 10.4.11 (ibook G4 PPC). I need a new printer, but there aren't any that will work with my current OS

I have an iBook G4 PPC. I need a new printer, but my OS isn't supported by any...Can I update to a newer version?

Hello, there are printers available, especially ones that use Postscript, is it Laser or Inkjet you're looking for?
Highest you can go is 10.5.8
    Leopard requirements/10.5.x...
        *  Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    minimum system requirements
        * 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
    Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.
May be available from Apple again...

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...

  • Is there a (fat) client that will work with the Iplanet calendar system?

We are going to Campus Pipeline which uses IPlanet for the calendar. We are going to be going from the Netscape Calendar server ti IPlanet as part of this change. Our faculty/staff are use to using the Netscape (fat) client to access their calendars. Is anything like this available for accessing IPlanet?

Outlook could be thought of as a fat client for ics, using the sync tool. But the "native" access is the web client, and I would encourage people who don't have other reasons for using Outlook to use it. With Outlook you can sync your own calendar, and access free/busy times of anyone, but you can't open other calendars or do other operations.

The internal speakers work fine when I boot in Windows, but they don't appear as an option in the System Preferences Output selection when in OS X. Does anyone know what command I could use to tell it to use the internal speakers instead?
Ideally it would be great if I could then just click between output options in System Preferences, but any solution at all would be greatly appreciated.
I am not sure if this will help, but if you haven't already checked the settings in the Audio MIDI Setup utility, try 'em out. Most people don't know that utility exists, but it has additional audio routing/muting options that are not in Sound system preferences.

Sorry about above 'pre' font - for some reason it would not let me do a normal post. It should have been as follows:
    I agree.

My MacBook Pro is running very hot after lion install.  Are there any hardware changes that will help? What can I do to get it back to normal?

I get the impression that most of the users on older hardware experiences similar temperature issues on Lion for a long time now. Awaiting for confirmation from the original poster.
In the meantime I'm just cautious with regards to pushing the machine to such extreme temps, since something tells me such behaviour which includes monitor flickering and the likes is nothing but abnormal for any type of use...
Any clues if 10.7.5 does anything on this? If not I'm afraid i see myself going back to SL for good...

  • I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 on my old iMac (running  10.9.5) to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

For Mavericks you need to upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1.
You cannot buy this version from the AppStore, since the current version is iPhoto 9.6, and that requires Yosemite. The easiest route for you would be to upgrade to Yosemite. Then you can simply buy the newest version of iPhoto from the App Store and can use iCloud Photo Library (iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ), once it has been release for the Mac as well early next year.
If you want to stick with Mavericks, you'll have limited iCloud features, only the Photo Streams  (iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ), but no iCloud Drive (iCloud Drive FAQ) and iCloud Photo Library.  And to upgrade iPhoto you need to buy an iPhoto '11 installer. It comes as part of iLife '11. You can try to buy a boxed version from Amazon or try to find it at eBay.  Once installed on Mavericks, download the iPhoto '11 updaters from the apple Support Downloads page.
