Is there a help searchbar in CS6 Indesign (Windows version)?
i like to know if there is a "help searchbar" available for indesign (windows version).
i know that there is one in the mac version, but i can't see one in the windows version?

i taught ad first to but that searchbar works differently.
instead of showing the location of a certain something i'm looking for like in the mac version.
it opens my web browser to the adobe website and does a google search kinda thing.
i want it like the mac version, to search for something like e.g. pathfinder and it directing/showing me where i can find it without opening the browser.

No. The whole point of the special licensing is that it's meant to support people in education or else the low price wouldn't exactly make sense - if everyone just bought used edu licenses, Adobe would bankrupt in a predictable timeframe.

Help With Audition CS6: Adding windows sound to accompany USB Mic
Hey Guys,
I have a Blue Yeti USB microphone that I wil be using to create a podcast with a friend over skype. When I am setting up audition cs6 I cannot seem to get the USB mic AND skype audio to be recording at the same time. Is this because I do not have a dedicated sound card, or is there something else I am missing?
On a side note, when I set the multitrack to the stereo mix, it says that there are two different types of audio signals and wont record.

I take it that you are using the internal sound hardware, then. If this is the case, then you could easily have problems with the sound device, because there isn't a single laptop made that has a decent sound system in it. For a start, none of them support ASIO - which is inherently what Audition uses to produce its output. What happens to get around this is that Audition has to provide an internal extra driver to drive the default sound driver, and this is at best a compromise. If you want decent sound from a laptop, then you need an external sound device with an ASIO driver.
As for W8, well I'm with Bob on this one. It's new, slightly weird, and as with all M$ operating systems, all bets are off until at least the first service pack is issued. If you have anti-virus software that's any more aggressive than AVG, then turn it off. The other common gotcha is wifi - some systems manage to give a massively high priority to wifi polling, and sometimes just turning it off completely is the only way to get any sort of performance at all. I must say though that lately this doesn't seem to have been anything like as much of an issue as it used to be back in the bad old days...
But, if you have badly stuttering playback, then it sounds as though your HD streaming isn't working as it should, and that something else is getting priority access to the drive - which is sometimes where virus scans can catch you out. You really do need to stop pretty much everything unnecessary running, one way or another. And get an external sound device that uses ASIO - this effectively bypasses most of the OS, and gives Audition pretty direct access to the device. -
Can there be help for formatted Ipod using windows by mistake?
I recently reformatted using windows by mistake. I read through this board and tried the putting Ipod in disc mode, opened Ipod updater, attached Ipod when prompted and reformatted. It would start to reset to factory settings then stop and give a write to disc failure notification. I have the 30 gig Ipod (video). Please help!!

The disc you used would have been the install disc that came with your Mac. These can only be used on that as they are made for that specific model.

CS6 InDesign: Why isn't hyperlink working?
It's been a maddening pursuit - honest, I've tried. There are actually (2) issues; the second precipitated by the first.
Primary Issue
I'm unable to create additional hyperlinks in Adobe CS6 InDesign 8.0.2 (Win7 Pro 64-bit).
Background - first hyperlink works fine in exported PDF; in Master page, created little hyperlink footer to parent website, text source, appearing on most pages.
On an individual regular page (not in Master), have tried both text and graphics as source; through right-clicking and Hyperlinks panel, nothing works; impotent in exported PDF.
Secondary Issue
I'm unable to delete hyperlinks in Hyperlinks Panel table.
Background - Given above; as a result of various attempts the table in the Hyperlinks Panel when displayed via the drop-down menu/ list, there they are; refusing to be deleted. Many attempts, closing app/ relaunching - no avail. How can this list get purged?

And just to be clear, the first hyperlink works in the PDF, with the link on the footer pointing to the parent domain. It's the subsequent attempts that fail to work in the PDF. -
Cannot access Adobe Folio Builder using Indesign (CS6) on Windows 7, error message is 'An error has occured while trying to sign in to the Folio Builder Panel' [IMS_ERROR_FAILURE]
Yes, I can open the DPS portal via the Folio Builder panel within InDesign. Although I have created Folios locally within InDesign CS6, the DPS portal is empty and everthing greyed out with just the text "There are no folios to display. Create folios with the folio builder in InDesign".
If I try to sign in within the Folio Builder panel in InDesign, I get the error message [IMS_ERROR_FAILURE] . In addition I am also not able to access the "Help" menu from within InDesign although I am connected to the internet.
To complicate it even further, I am working in the UK whereas all internet control (firewall) and licences are handeled by head office in Germany. I am not sure if this is a firwewall issue or not but if the IT department in Germany could get support from Adobe to understand the access requirements, this may help.
Hopefully using the forum someone out there will know the answer. -
Cs6 Indesign keeps asking for missing plugins, eg Install and Find Plug in and Spelling panel plugin, then crashes. I have reinstalled, I have updated and I have tried to delete preferences. Please help. Am so frustrated. Am no techno guru and there is no one to phone.

Can I upgrade to CS6 InDesign from CS5?
Trying to upgrade/download to CS6 InDesign from CS5 (CS5 v7)....
Not sure if I can reply back here, but here goes.When I went to the link all was well. Then I went to the side link button - buy - it takes you to Adobe Store - Middle East and North Africa - which is only letting me purchase the full version. I just finally was able to contact support via the phone and was helped thru this all. There was apparently some odd linking with the Adobe stores. Thanks,Zoedog03

NON Creative Cloud CS6 indesign will not open Spinning wheel of death
We have 8 of 16 Mac Yosemite computers all imaged the same way and all other adobe CS6 NON Cloud they work fine. However when we open InDesign only we get the spinning wheel of death and I have to Force close the program. Adobe offers NO chat or Phone support and I have tried the Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences both manually and with the Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift command and that doesn't work? I am in desperate need please help! Thank you for reading my post,

Interactive PDF created in CS6 InDesign data collection issue
Created an interactive form from within CS6 InDesign. Uses text fields and check boxes with a submit button to forward the completed form to an email address. When tested in Acrobat Reader, the collected information will not be submitted, just a copy of the form -- blank. Any obvious solutions to this, perhaps a step I missed when creating in InDesign?
Also, my submit button creates an email to send with form completed data input, and attachements too, can then be included. Is there a way to bypass the attachements step for the email and simply have an Include (browse) for attachements while within the interactive PDF?Which version of Adobe Reader are you using for testing purposes? Adobe Reader XI introduced the ability to save filled out PDF forms and submit them. For earlier versions as far as I'm aware you'd need to create a Reader Extended PDF, which is something you can do in Acrobat, not InDesign.
If you have Adobe Acrobat:
Open the PDF form you created in InDesign then
File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools... and test it in Adobe Reader again.
To answer your second question, not that I know... (neither in InDesign or Acrobat).
However, if you have a copy of Adobe LivecycleDesigner, you can add a form object that can be used by users to include attachments.

EVERY time I open Photoshop CS6 I get the damn "Help Improve Adobe's Products" box appearing. I've clicked 'Participate' and answered all the questions ... I've pressed 'Do Not Participate' ... many times !
The darn window still opens every time I open PS6 .... driving me nuts!!

The only idea remaining is to uninstall/clean/reinstall.
Let's go over that:
No need to deactivate, so skip that.
In your CS6 folder is a shortcut to the uninstaller. I would like you to check "Remove Preferences" when you run the uninstaller.
When that's done, download the CS-CC Cleaner for the Mac. Run that.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
As far as your Mac goes, Run Disk Utility on your volume.
Verify Disk
Repair Permissions.
Then reinstall CS6 and updates.
It's is a "nuke and pave" approach, but if you do not want to be messing with internals you do not understand, it's the best way to go.
