How do I switch tabs without using my mouse?

* Use "Ctrl+Page Up" or "Shift+Ctrl+Tab" to go to the Previous Tab and "Ctrl+Page Down" or "Ctrl+Tab" to go to the Next tab.
* Use Ctrl + 1 to Ctrl + 8 to go to the first 8 tabs and Ctrl + 9 to go to the last tab (on Linux use the Alt key, on Mac use the Cmd key)

Hot Keys to switch tabs intermittently stop working (Apple-Option-[)

I've been used to using Apple/Command + Shift + [ to go to next and previous tabs for ages. I used to use Apple + Shift + Arrow keys, but when Safari made the brackets the new default, I figured I'd update.
I seem to keep having an issue multiple times a day where Safari stops responding to the Apple + Shift + Bracket shortcuts. When this happens, Ctrl + Tab still works, and I just discovered that Apple + Shift + Left/Right Arrows also still work.
I can't seem to trace the moment where they stop working, or when they return. Restarting the browser doesn't seem to help. Nor does sleeping and re-awaking, although a restart does. However, even without a restart, they do eventually come back.
I detest input managers and unsupported plugins, so neither are installed. I have NO keyboard shortcuts configured in SysPrefs. I have no idea what could be the cause. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The Mac inherently keeps all input methods active, such that you could type alternate keys on alternate keyboards.
If you have third party add-ons that might change the way Bluetooth works, those would be the primary suspects.
Be sure all your Drivers are completely up-to-date, and batteries in battery-powered devices are still strong.
Bluetooth uses the same part of the frequency spectrum (but a different modulation technique) as cheap WiFi Routers, baby monitors, and microwave ovens. if you live in a busy apartment building, there may be very high levels of interference.

Hot Keys for Switching between Applications (Equivalent to Windows Alt-Tab)

Please help.
For the longest time, I have had trouble finding the keys to enable a fast switch of active applications. Is there an "ALT-TAB" for us Mac lovers? I mostly want to know because when playing WoW, I'd like to be able to switch to Safari at a drop of a hat to look up info.
Any suggestions/answers?

The alternative command is Command-TAB.
When WoW operates in full screen it might not work however.
You posted in the wrong forum BTW.

Satellite M55: Fn+F5 hot key cannot switch to external display

Hi,
I have tried to hook up a projector, however when i press fn + f5 I get no response. I know that the projector works as i have tried it on another pc.
I've had a look through the forums and on google and can see that this is an issue for other people as well, but have been unable to find an solution except that it appears to be a toshiba manufacturer setting which is stopping this from working.

On my Satellite the Hotekey utility for display devices is responsible for the function of FN+F5 buttons. I suppose this tool was also installed on your notebook.
I think if this utility (driver) doesnt work and you cannot use these keys so you should try to reinstall this application.
The unit looks like a US notebook therefore you should check the Toshiba US website.
Check the driver download page and install the necessary drivers.

Are there any shortcut keys to switch between displays in screen sharing?

I have been trying the option-command-1 & 2 shortcut but it doesn not want to work for me. Is there something I need to setup before doing this?

I was talking about the keyboard shortcuts for the screen sharing app. I found out you need to be in Observer mode before using the option-command-1 & 2 shortcut.

Key Handling in Tab Pages of Form

I want to control my tab pages with some HOT keys
For example : I have Five Tab Pages named as FIRST,SECOND,THIRD,FOURTH and FIFTH
now i want to access them with the keys ALT+F,ALT+S,ALT+T,ALT+U and ALT+I rescpectively...
Is there a way in oracle forms to capture key codes and then use them to go to the particular tab page with those keys.
If any body knows ..pls tell me ASAP.i'll be really thankfull.
ALL i want to do is to provide hot keys to my TAB PAGES....
I'll like ORACLE REPORT TEAM to respond me if there is any way to implement this functionality.

Customizing Terminal.app hot-keys?

Hey all,
Does anyone know a way to re-assign hotkeys within Terminal.app?
Since Leopard's Terminal supports tabs, I use Command-Shift-\[ and Command-Shift-\] hotkeys extensively to switch between tabs, and almost never use Command-Left and Command-Right hot-keys (which switches between Terminal windows).
I've been taking measures against RSI/TCS, and have noticed that the Command-Arrow combination is much easier on my hands.

one is there a hot key to rate songs quick? instead of click the stars.
Two. When i party shuffle i hear an artist come on and i want to go add another one of that artists songs to my party shuffle. Is there a hot key to jump to the current artist playing?

You can rate the current song by clicking on the iTunes icon in the dock and selecting the number of stars (e.g., see Figure 3.43 under item 4 of this web page. If that's not good enough for you, take a look at some of the script options at . Most of those are set to add or delete rating stars (or half stars), along with some to demand ratings for unrated songs. You could search through, or modify these scripts, and then assign them to shortcut keys if you like.

Option click on the arrow beside the artist's name in iTunes and you will get a display of all tracks tagged with that artist in your library

Is there a keyboard shortcut to launch firefox 3.6.3 with windows vista? Hot key (ctrl + alt + key) does not work.

Thank you Morbus and Cor-el, for your prompt replies. Here's what I did: I've placed the Firefox icon in the quick launch toolbar. So I right-click this firefox icon>Properties>Shortcut tab>in Shortcut Key field, add X (the word "None" changes to "ctrl + alt + X")>Apply>Okay>and that closes the dialog window.
Then, to try the new launch short-cut, I press and hold down, in order, ctrl, then alt, then x (holding all three down) . . . and nothing launches.
I thought this would do it! So any further thoughts would be a splendid help ---- many thanx!

Hot Keys toggle state of toggle switch

How can I prevent a toggle switch from updating it's GUI state when it is accessed via Hot Key (Alt + letter)?
I want to be able to do this without Disabling the control, and without setting the control to Indicator mode. I created a callback to swallow the event_commit. The control still toggles state when using hot keys but not when clicking the control.

While thinking about your problem it has occurred to me to experiment with some SDK function to check whether the accelerator key function could be diabled. While I haven't succeeded in it, I have noted that if you install a system hot key via RegisterHotKey SDK function it has precedence over the accelerator CVI installs while adding a double underscore somewhere in the control label. That is, even if the accelerator sign is present, a system hot key comes before and prevents the button callback to be fired. That could be a feasible solution for your actual problem.
I made up a fast example that shows all this matter: you can test all combinations of hotkeys installed on the control and see what happens.

Satellite C50-A133 - language bar hot keys keep being reset automatically

Hi!
I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-A133 notebook with Windows 8.1 64 bit (system language English UK) from the UK. So far I have not had major problems with Windows 8.1 but one annoying problem keeps coming up.
There are currently 12 languages/input methods installed, some of which I have assigned keyboard shortcuts, either Ctrl + number or Ctrl + Shift + number.
After the system starts up they work fine, but after a while become disabled without me being aware of having done anything to disable them. The only thing I can do is open the Language Preferences menu and assign the shortcuts again.
They have disappeared in the language bar hot keys menu, specifically each shortcut I have set has changed to "None". This happens after a while no matter what I use the computer for.
Restarting the system always resets the shortcuts to my settings but working with the computer for a while disables them. I use Avast, Malwarebytes, Auslogics BoostSpeed and Windows Defender regularly, as well as CCleaner at startup. I don't think it's any of these causing the problem, as it occurs when none of them are scanning as well. Using the Windows key + tab bar to change input language works fine by the way.
All the languages are displayed and can be activated this way. It is just the hotkeys that keep disappearing. It is not a huge problem but can be inconvenient when needing to switch between 2 or 3 languages quickly without having to cycle through all 12 of them. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to fix it?
I have already explained this issue to Microsoft.
They had no solution that worked and suggested it was a hardware problem and that I should contact Toshiba instead.

To be honest Im not sure if I understand your problem correctly but as far as I know by first start after notebook purchase you can define keyboard input language and thats it. Of course you can change it additionally and add some other input languages.
For me it sounds crazy that 12 languages are offered as installed services. Who has done this?
Can you please tell us how all this started? I mean I presume you use UK layout only and English as input language. The issue with 12 languages sounds completely crazy for me. Have you tried to change anything? Have you tried to remove all other languages?
Hardware problem? I don't know what Microsoft think about this but there is a easy way to check this. Reinstall original recovery image and check how it works with factory settings.

Question about hot key to jump between fields in oracle form

say I have bunch of orders to upload,
at the order number field I type in the number
and move the mouse to click on next line to type another number
how can I use some hot key to replace the mouse movement.
I know if use tab key several times you can come to the next line eventually, but is there any better hot key just move to the next line?
my purpose is to automatically upload bunch of orders, and bypass the mouse move, if there is some similar case study material, I really appreciate.

There is one built-in to move to the next record programatically. Like...
NEXT_RECORD;It is a restricted procedure check the forms help.
In your case can use on KEY-NEXT-ITEM trigger.
or if you are uploading from any file or any other source then also you can use this built-in in your code while uploading.
