Is there a keyboard shortcut to close the Application Frame in CS6 Mac? Mousing to menus or click on

Nothing works to close this window except mouse/clicking... I don't like it being in the background when I'm working in other apps.

I'm not a Mac user, so I don't have a way to check this myself, but what's the behavior when you do disable it via the setting, then open an image?  Does the image just open a window exactly the size of the displayed image?  I assume this is different than what you're looking to see.  Maybe a couple of screenshots would help others reading this thread (e.g., Adobe folks) to understand how you'd prefer it to work.
I think the intent is to make the default Photoshop behavior the same on a Mac as on a PC, and on a PC there's no way to eliminate the Application Frame at all.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the presently open web page in another tab? It used to be Ctrl + N.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the presently open web page in another tab? It used to be Ctrl + N. This shortcut now opens a Tab with the home page instead of duplicating the web page I'm on.

Firefox has always opened new tabs in a blank page, so I'm guessing that the way you had it before was added by an extension.
If you to to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions, are there any extensions disabled?
In any case, you can still do this with a mouse shortcut. Hold down the Ctrl key as you drag a tab to an empty area on the tab bar.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to change the voice and/or language of "text-to-speech"

I don't think so, you have to change it in the system preferences.  You can ask Apple to add this via

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to toggle the addons bar on\off?

As the title say,now that Firefox 4 b8 has a button to close the addons bar, does a keyboard shortcut exist to quickly toggle this bar on and off ?

There's a keyboard shortcut now that the released version 4.0 is around. It's
    Ctrl+/
In most cases it works OK. However I have had a situation or two in which the displayed web page had its own meaning for this shortcut... and the web page won.
I'm looking for a toolbar button that will toggle the add-on bar.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the previous page in a new tab that is right next to the current tab?

Let's say I'm currently on page X, and the previous page I came from was page Y. Is there a keyboard shortcut to open page Y in a new tab right next to the tab with page X?
Currently my only solution is to hold down cmd (for mac) and click the back arrow button, but again, I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut. I know CTRL + T opens up the same page in a tab right next to the current one, but I have to wait for it to load then press backspace to go back one page.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate the external display port??

My Macbook pro recently took in moisture from the bottom, which fried my display. Through some testing, I have determined that the monitor is the only damage and the computer still works fine. When I connect an external display I can only see the standard wallpaper with no icons. So, I have a computer that I urgently need to access but can't see. Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate an external display?? Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't have the latest MaBook Pro, the Fn F7 key generally toggles the dual display settings to mirror, which would let you the default screen.
Your external connection defaults to a desktop extended display.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to open the Services submenu?

I'm trying to learn how to use Services and Automator.  One thing that seems to be missing is a keyboard shortcut to open the Services submenu (in any application)  I'm guessing after highlighting the object of interest the shortcut starts with option but what comes next I haven't the foggiest.

@leroydouglas.  Your reply although factual is not in answer to my question.
for example: I'm reading my question and your reply on a web page using Safari (with OS 10.6.7)
If I select (highlight) a portion of any text in my question (or your reply) and then right-click (control-click) I get a contextual menu.  While the same text is highlighted, I go up to Safari's menu bar and pull down to and select-click Services submenu, I get another menu. Similar to the result of right-click, but different.
I just thought that a feature of OS 10.6.x, Services, which relies so heavily on keyboard shortcuts would have a keyboard shortcut to open it.  So, far that shortcut has eluded me.
    TIA

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut for Opening the Channels Panel?

I've googled, searched discussions, and tried recording actions but haven't found the solution.
What I'd like is a simple keyboard shortcut to open the Channels panel.
    That's it.
I can create and run actions that create, delete, or move channels; use the menu or channels tab to open it -- but I can't seem to find a way to use a keystroke combination to open the channels panel like you can do for the layers (F7) or actions (F9) panels.
    Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks!
    -Bonnie

    Thank you!
Sometimes things are just simply right in front of you without being seen.
The solution was spot on. I'd somehow not 'seen' the "Application Menu" drop-down in the keyboard shortcuts dialog box.
    Now back to post-processing!
    Thanks again.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to close adobe?

My job is all about speed and so keyboard shortcuts are awesome. I'm not seeing one in the list of shortcuts but I wondered if anyone had a workaround or helpful tip if there really isn't one.

    Hi jeanettelp,
On Mac OS, you can use the standard Command+Q command to close your Adobe applications. On Windows, I believe the equivalent shortcut is Alt+F4.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to close a app?

    Nuff said.

Along with the lists of shortcuts, you can just open the menu and see the assigned shortcut.
Hold down the modifier keys such as Option and Shift, and some menu items, and shortcuts, will change to an optional behavior.
You can also change them in the Keyboard Shortcuts, Keyboard System Preferences.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to move the handle of the timeline window to scroll it forward and backward......?

I want to use keys to control the part of the timeline that I want to see by scrolling the timeline ahead and backwards.....exactly what we do with that handle at the bottom of the timeline......

I don't know a keyboard combination to scroll the timelime left or right, but you can easily do it, either
using the trackpad (two finger drag), the magic mouse (1 finger drag), orthe "Hand" tool. Press H to select it. Click and hold, and drag.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to close all unselected windows (background windows). This is for pop ups not blocked by the safari block pop up preference. This would be different to [cmd q] as it would leave the selected window with her tabs active...

    this is for safari.
    Thanks!

None that I know of - Option clicking a tab 'x' closes all others, but doesn't work for windows, here.
Between Ghostery & Adblock Safari extensions, you'd rarely see a pop-up at all.

  • How do you turn off the Application Frame in the Windows version of CS6?

I have successfully turned off the Application Frame on my Mac version of CS6 but can not find the same functionality in my Windows version.  Anyone know how to turn off
this feature in the Windows version?

Application Frame is a Mac only feature
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-application-frame-document-window.ht ml#main_Application_frame__Mac_OS_X_Only_
It's the normal behaviour by design for all software in the Windows environment so there's no on-off toggle.
