Is there a keyboard shortcut to replace clicking on the Green Zoom Jelly

I'm looking for some way not to have to reach for the mouse to click the green jelly button.
Is this possible?
Cheers,
MJ

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to delete files without the need to use the mouse? In OS X Mavericks.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to delete files without the need to use the mouse in OS X Mavericks?

    my question is precise
    Not exactly........
Cmd-Delete deletes a selected file without a mouse.
What you want, I think, is a way to select the file (presumably in Finder) without a mouse so that it can be deleted.
If you open a new Finder window - Cmd-N you can navigate with the up/down arrow keys as you navigate a file is selected , once selected it can be deleted with cmd-delete.
If while navigateing with the up/dpwn arrow keys you encounter a folder you can delete the folder with cmd-delete or open the folder with the right arrow and proceed to naviagte and delete.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to open bins in the project pane?

    Hi there!
Quick question: Is there a keyboard shortcut that allows you to open a bin in Premiere Pro's project panel?
I know I can just double-click it, but I like sticking to my keyboard as much as possible. If there's any default keyboard shortcut or configurable one, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance!
Edit: Version - Most up to date CC.

Option clicking any bin twirl down will open all bins. Otherwise, as shooternz noted, the shortcut wouldn't know which bin you wanted to open, so it's not really possible with some kind of clicking.

  • Is there a Keyboard shortcut to take me to the Finder from anywhere else?

I thought for sure there would be a keyboard command for this but I can't find it anywhere. I would like a keyboard shortcut so no matter where I am I can select the Finder, but without tabbing through applications.
Does this exist or can I create one? I looked at the Keyboard System Pref and don't see a way to create the shortcut either.
    Any advice? Thanks.

    ...or can I create one?
    Here's another possibility...
See if you can locate an AppleScript named Switch to Finder.scpt. It may be located in your /Library/Scripts/Finder Scripts folder. In case you don't find it, here is the script:
    tell application "Finder"
    activate
set visible of every process whose visible is true and name is not "Finder" to false
    end tell
Open the script in your Script Editor and save the script as an application (uncheck the Startup Screen option).
Search Versiontracker or MacUpdate for a suitable keyboard hot key program. The one I like is Spark. Use this program to assign a function key or the key combination of your choice to launch the AppleScript application Switch to Finder.
As an aside... if you the the reverse the words "true" and false" in the above script, and save as an application using the Script Editor, you'll have another script and, in turn, another keyboard command option available. You might name this one "Show All."
Once you've set up hot keys with Spark, close the program and leave the Spark Daemon running in the background. It's unobtrusive and has a small footprint. (The Spark Daemon uses less than 5 MB RAM and virtually 0.00 % CPU on my machine.)
    Just an idea. Good luck...

  • Is there WINDOWS KEYBOARD shortcut to restart a mac ???

Using a "WINDOWS KEYBOARD" (no "eject" button), is there a keyboard shortcut that will bring up the shut down/restart menu?  Equivalent to "control+eject" on a mac keyboard?
Reason I ask:  Periodically, my Apple bluetooth devices (keyboard, trackpad and mouse) becomes completely unresponsive while my imac (2011 iMac running Lion 10.7.2) is in sleep mode - pressing a key on the bluetooth keyboard, trackpad or mouse will not wake the iMac up from sleep mode. Pressing the power button will wake the iMac, but I can't type in my unlock password because the keyboard is unresponsive.  When this happens, I plug in my spare "WINDOWS" keyboard via USB, at which time I can use this USB keyboard to wake the iMac and type in my unlock password.  Now I'm "in my computer" and only the "WINDOWS" keyboard is working (bluetooth trackpad and mouse is still unresponsive).  Only thing that will "reset" my bluetooth devices seems to be "restarting" my iMac.
Using this "WINDOWS" keyboard, I'm looking for a way to shutdown/restart my iMac using a keyboard shortcut equivalent or similar to "control+eject" on the apple keyboard - which brings up the shut down/restart dialogue.  The "WINDOWS" keyboard obviously does not have an "eject" button.  I've tried some of the F12, F11 etc keys with no luck . . .
Hope someone has a solution to this.  I'm trying to avoid "hard rebooting" the iMac as a last resort.
    Thanks

By holding ctrl + F12 for a couple of secs will get you the shutdown menu on a Windows keyboard.

  • Keyboard shortcut to take you to the FILE dropdown?

Is there a keyboard shortcut that takes you to the FILE dropdown or takes you there and opens it, so from there you can select what you want in the drop down?
    Thanks.

    Ehm, pssst Shane,
there is.... But don't tell anyone...
Crtl-F2 (On some keyboards Control-Fn-F2) brings you to the Apple (Top Left of the menu).
    From the Finder Help:
    Action Shortcut
Move to the menu bar --> Control-F2
Move from menu to menu -> Left and Right Arrow keys
Move to menu items in the selected menu
--> Up and Down Arrow keys
Jump to a menu item in the selected menu
    --> Type its name
Select a menu item --> Return
...{especially don't tell NON-MAC users, give 'm one thing to think they're better of with there machines)...

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut in OS 10.6 for "open folder window" and "close folder window"?

Is there a keyboard shortcut in OS 10.6 for "open folder window" and "close folder window"?  I have a hand condition at the moment that makes it painful to mouse the cursor over to the arrow and click it (for instance, in the sidebars for Finder or iTunes) to open or close a folder.  If anyone knows a keyboard shortcut for this, I'd really appreciate it--thanks!

Let's say I'm currently on page X, and the previous page I came from was page Y. Is there a keyboard shortcut to open page Y in a new tab right next to the tab with page X?
Currently my only solution is to hold down cmd (for mac) and click the back arrow button, but again, I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut. I know CTRL + T opens up the same page in a tab right next to the current one, but I have to wait for it to load then press backspace to go back one page.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut to "Pin as App Tab"?

Sometimes (mainly with a touchpad) moving the mouse cursor to the tab, right-clicking and choosing "Pin as App Tab" is a lot of work compared to just using a keyboard shortcut. Is there a keyboard shortcut to do this?

It is a context menu entry and such entries require to right-click in a specific place to open that context menu. <br />Such entries can never have a shortcut key.
You can't set focus to the tab bar easily. Ctrl +K followed by one or more tab key presses should focus the tab bar.<br />
Then you can press the context menu key at the right side of the space bar to open the context menu and press P to pin the current tab.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut for the Fade In / Fade out Behavior

I use the Fade in/out behavior a lot and i wonder if there's a shortcut i've not found. what is it?
If there is not, can I create one? or for other behaviors / filters used a lot? Thanks for any help.

There is a way to do this using the System Preferences. I found this tip years ago on a web site I can no longer find anywhere, but I still use it and it still works:
    1) Go to the Library, drag the Fade In Fade Out behavior into the Favorites Menu folder in the left-side column.
    2) Go to the Favorites menu category in the Library, check to make sure your behavior is there.
    3) Go to the Favorites menu in the main menu, check to make sure your behavior is listed as a menu item. Make sure to note the name of the menu item there.
    4) If it's there, go to System Preferences, and click on the Keyboard & Mouse icon.
    5) Go to Keyboard Shortcuts, click the + button at the bottom left to add a new shortcut.
    6) Choose "Motion" from the Applications popup, then type in the exact name of the Fade In Fade Out behavior in the Menu Title box (it has to be exact, otherwise this won't work). You don't need the "Favorites" part, just the menu name, in this case "Fade In Fade Out".
    7) Choose whatever key shortcut you want, but make sure it doesn't override any existing ones in Motion!
    8) Click Add in the dialog.
Now, when you switch back to Motion, you can press that key you just added and it will instantly add a Fade In/Fade Out behavior to the selected layer automatically. This works with anything you can add to the Favorites Menu, just keep track of the name and you can add custom layers, filters, behaviors, or anything else you can stash in the Library, and recall them with a custom hotkey.

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut for the arrows in grid view?

When you click on an album (or TV-show) in grid view there are two small arrows in the upper right corner, for flicking through to next or previous album.
Question: is there a keyboard shortcut for these arrows? Would be relly nice...
    I mean these buttons: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/2205425/itunes_pilar.png

    Ah this is useful!
However... it turns out that you have to press shift as well, so:
For left: ⇧⌘ [ (meaning SHIFT - COMMAND - LEFT SQUARE BRACKET)
For right: ⇧⌘ ] (meaning SHIFT - COMMAND - RIGHT SQUARE BRACKET)

  • Is there a keyboard shortcut (or custom) to close notifications that appear from iMessage, ical, etc. on a macbook pro?

Is there a keyboard shortcut (or a custom keyboard shortcut) to close notifications that appear from iMessage, ical, etc. on a macbook pro - the notifications that appear on the top right of the macbook. For example, I do not want to go to my trackpad and click "Close" on the notification. I simply want to trigger a hotkey or keyboard shortcut that will close the notification as I see it.
    Thanks so much!

No, but this might be better for you.

  • I just loaded 4,000 songs into I-tunes on  a new laptop.  All of the songs are checked.  Is there a keyboard shortcut to unchek all songs at once in the library?

just loaded 4,000 songs into I-tunes, my entire CD library.  All of the songs are checked.  Is there a keyboard shortcut to uncheck all songs at one time

Yes, CTRL-click on one of them, but why? Unchecked songs will usually be excluded from any device you sync with and will also be skipped during normal playback. If you're using the first effect to control what goes on your device, and "living with" the second then why not switch to using playlist selections for the device. Otherwise one inadvertent CTRL-click on a checkbox will undo all your selections.
