Is there a licence issues with XE ?
Hi folks,
I may well be on the wrong forum here as this question is more a legal one as opposed to APEX one etc.
However, my question is ...
Is it okay to download Express Edition for free to develop and deploy XE applications with an Oracle database for small businesses (e.g. small shops) where the shopkeeper would then use the app for his live transactions (e.g. look up his customer records).
In other words download a free app that a single user can then use on a live environment ?

Can I use Oracle Database XE for free deployment?
Oracle Database XE is free for runtime usage with the following limitations:
• Supports up to 4GB of user data (in addition to Oracle system data)
• Single instance only of Oracle Database XE on any server
• May be installed on a multiple CPU server, but only executes on one processor in any server
• May be installed on a server with any amount of memory, but will only use up to 1GB RAM of available memory
You should be good to go.

My MacBook Pro 13" (2012) is running Windows 7 on Bootcamp and there is an issue with the headset I'm using. I use a cheap Logitech Stereo Headset H130, but since there is only on audio plugin on the computer, I purchased a 3.5 mm 4-pin smartphone audio adapter thingy. That allowed me to put both my the sound coming to my headset & the microphone on my headset onto one wire. Everything worked wonderfully when running the Mac OS since they probably have support for that kind of stuff. The problem is though that once I try to use the same method in Windows 7, the OS doesn't recognize my headset microphone at all, but, instead when recording my voice decides to use the built-in mac microphone. Using this adapter still allows me to hear from my headset, but not use the microphone and that becomes a problem. It might be so that Windows 7 doesn't have support\drivers for that... How should I continue from here on out? Any advice?
From what I have read from others on here you may be out of luck. You would need the appropriate Windows drivers for the Cirrus chip in the Mac and no one has been able to successfully locate them. Apple wouldn't support this since Windows is an optional install.

I'm trying to connect to my home wifi with my imac gh5. After I enter the password it says connection timeout or password incorrect. I know there's no issue with the connection but I don't know what else to do. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
What is the make & model of your home Wi-Fi router that you are attempting to connect your G5 iMac to? Which exact model of iMac do you have?
What wireless security type is your router using: WEP, WPA, or WPA2? If you temporarily disable wireless security, can the iMac connect to it now? -
My itunes account on windows xp shuts down for no reason. If even try to delete something from my library it shuts down. It wont recognize my iphone and there is an issue with network connectivity and I can't connect to the store. I have already reinstalled itunes and did a system restore on my computer, firewall has been checked, itunes is ok on firewall and virus scan done. Ideas??
Same problem. I can see the itunes store so not a problem with windows firewall. The account is active on my iphone so i know i am not locked out. I can connect the PC to my iphone so i know itunes is working ok. It is just logging into itunes on this pc which doesn't work. Only thing I can think of is that the email address I use for my apple id has been offline for a while and is working again now, I'm wondering whether this has been the case for others who are having this issue?

How can I fix this problem. I got the following for Adobe Reader that there was an issue with it. C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\NPSWF32.dll file
Try uninstalling using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then reinstall.

Are there any known issues with Adobe Edge Animate and Yosemite? Experiencing performance issues since upgrading OS. Animation I was working on that had been performing in browser fine suddenly stopped working, and was not related to any action I had done at that point. Also was working in it today and program stopped responding to key board short cut commands.
I am having a whole slew of odd interface problems with a fresh 2014.1.1 on a fresh macbook pro with latest Yosemite. Program locks up, cursor selections don't show, things disappear. I have a mac mini also and the program runs fine on it. Is there possibly something related to the solid state hard drive in new macs?

I have a lightning to usb cable which is 2m in length. Is there any known issues with trying to recharge an iPad 4 with this longer length? It seems to me it is taking much longer than a 1m cord to recharge.

I'm afraid a new SSD won't be different from your bad USB stick. I had similar issues over USB with both a (no-brand) stick and TWO 64gb Kingston SSDNow's (running Kubuntu 12.04 with Kernel 3.11, ia_64): it all runs exceptionally well (wanna know how it feels like booting in 5 sec?) for a few days - then suddenly you find yourself facing that dreaded (initramfs) prompt. You ask yourself: why? Did I upgrade grub lately? Did I upgrade the Kernel? I don't recall so. Ok, let's fix this... insert favorite live cd, boot, fsck...what???? THOUSANDS of errors??? Hundreds of files and directories corrupted, and the system is unusable - Reinstall everything from scratch onto another drive.
Rinse and repeat: did this 3 times. Then I found this analysis:

I also suspect USB power interrupts more abruptly than SATA power, at shutdown - basically aggravating any power interruption damages. So now I'm going to:
- buy an Intel S3500!
- add commit=1 to my mount options in /etc/fstab
- edit shutdown procedure to add a 5-10 sec pause after unmounting drives.
Just my two cents.

Hi Drbobdog, there shouldn't be a compatibility with Android OS 2.2.3. There may be a compatability with the device itself.

Are there any known issues with a 2003 server authenticating to a 2012 domain controller
I am trying to get off of these 2003 domain controllers. But I still have a couple of 2003 servers that will be decommissioned by early next year. If I change my environment and get rid of the two 2003 dc's, and promote two 2012 dc's. Will I have any issues
with the 2003 servers authenticating? I have a very small maintenance window, and do not have time to test on my own. I was hoping someone else has tried this before, and knows the results.Hi,
I am not aware of any issues with 2012 as domain controller role. There was an issue with 2012 R2 as domain controller role related to the AES encryption for computer password, but MS issued a hotfix and a rollup (covers many other issues along).

Once you upgrade your schema to support 2012 domain controllers you can start promoting those and eliminate 2003 ones.
I have been running this in our environment and I see no issues. In fact i am using 2012 R2 DC which were problematic.
