Is there a Limit on what Ram that Final Cut will Utilize?

I just purchased 16 GB of RAM in particular to do Video with... Currently I am using Final Cut Express but want to purchase Final Cut Studio. I know that FCE only uses 2GB of Ram no matter how much you have, does Final Cut Pro have a RAM limit or will it use whatever is available. In other words is it worth me getting FCP or just stick with FCE?

My Mac Pro has 12 GB of RAM, and even though FCP only uses, as stated above, 2.5 GB, I almost always have DVDSP and Photoshop CS3 open at the same time (except when capturing), and this is where the extra RAM is handy.
It's nice to be able to design a DVD menu and design and print disc labels and box art while Compressor is encoding my FCP sequences.

  • Is there a limit to what it can handle?

I have a LR catalog of about 700gb. I have about 1tb of videos that I'd like to add. Will LR slow down at some point if you add too many files? Is there a limit to what it can handle?
    Thanks.

Your files are not stored in Lightroom, so the size and amount of files does not affect Lightroom's performance. Lightroom is simply a database, it knows the location of your photos and videos. Thus, there is no limit. And people report catalogs of over 1/2 million items running properly.

Account Limit Reached what does that mean and how to get rid of it?
This cause me not to set up iCloud, so now what?

I found this out on another thread
There is no solution. There are limits to how many iCloud accounts that a device can have activated. It doesn't matter that it was by a previosu owner, it's the device that matters. Everything you do using an iDevice is tied to it's ID number, even Mac computers. This applies to the Apple store as well as the app store and everything iCloud related.

iCloud is not the way to do this. You should use Migration Assistant - with this you can transfer your complete User folder from the old Mac including preferences and logins. You will need to connect the two with FireWire or USB depending on the models.
Ideally you should do this before you set up the new Mac - if you create a user account with the same name than the Migration will have to give the migrated user folder a different name. When you first switch on the new Mac it should ask you if you want to transfer your data, and give you instructions.

  • Is there a limit for the apps that i purchased or i can purchase as much i want? and how can i know the capacity it's taking? Thank you

Is there a limit for the apps that i purchased or i can purchase as much i want? and how can i know the capacity it's taking? Thank you

Yes you can buy whatever you want if your credit card is in good standing.
Before you buy, read the size of the download in iTunes/App/iBook Store.
Rule of thumb, you need to reserve about 10% of your total space.

  • Im planning to upgrade my MBP late 2011's ram from 4gb to 8gb. Is there any specific brand of ram that i should buy or i can buy any brand that suits my MBP.

im planning to upgrade my MBP late 2011's ram from 4gb to 8gb. Is there any specific brand of ram that i should buy or i can buy any brand that suits my MBP? im aware of all the details that i need to consider pc3 - 10600 1333MHz 4gb. i just want to know is there any specific brand or i can use any brand,
    Thank you.

The most reliable sources for Mac compatible RAM are OWC and Crucial.  Macs seem to be selective with RAM so some brands will not work. Make certain that you get RAM with the exact specifications that apply to your MBP.
    Ciao.
If you have a need, be advised that you MBP can actually support 16 GB RAM.

    Hi tobaa63252251,
Are you asking how much storage you get? You get 5 GB of free storage (there currently isn't a option to buy more).

  • Is there a limit to number of fonts Font Book will manage?

i'm using an old font manager that's causing issues. would love to just use apple's font book. however, i have hundreds (if not thousands) of fonts. is there a limit to what font book will handle?

i'll give that a look. however, it would be nice to just use Font Book. It handles auto activation pretty smoothly and it's very lightweight. i'm all about avoiding anything extra if it's at all possible

  • Is there a way to run Motion and Final Cut Pro on Separate Machines?

Is there a way to run Motion and Final Cut Pro from the same Final Cut Studio license on separate machines? We hadn't realised when we bought Final Cut Studio that it wouldn't allow this. Our editor doesn't use motion, and while I mainly use After Effects on our motion graphics machine, I was wanting to try using motion for some particle effects. Unfortunately, it won't let me open it while Final Cut is running on our editor's machine. I can understand not letting two copies of same application run under the same serial number at the same time, but it would be nice to be able to use both programs that we own concurrently. At very least it would be good to warn you that this isn't possible in the product description, not in some fine print license agreement once you have already bought the software.
    -Matt

I do not know of any software, in any platform that can operate from the same license over a network simultaneously. This is the exact reason for the existence of Volume Licensing. If for example a project ran in each one of the included applications from different sources that were not an active network, I doubt you would have a problem.Like, doing a project at work and geting the outcome with the Powerbook at home...Sorta!

Recently purchased a Macbook Pro with screen of retina of 13,3 inches. My question is, can I install the new Final Cut Pro X , is capable of withstanding the app? Or that Final Cut is convenient to install?

Generally any Mac made since 2009 can handle FCP X.
Your small screen is not ideal unless you are young and have good vision.
However, you needn't ask whether or not your computer is suitable as you can find out yourself by downloading the free 30 day trial.

Sorry but there are no individual educational discounts for FCPX.

  • Do you think that Final Cut X will be better than Final Cut Studio 7?

Do you believe that Final Cut X is better?

If you have paid any attention to this forum and others you will realise that is an impossible question to answer totally and any answer will be purely subjective.
For some people, FCPX (once any bugs have been ironed out) is an incredible program.
For some it is beyond useless and unless things change, will be useless for the foreseeable future.
Nothing really more to add on the matter - have a browse around!

  • Is there a limit to custom views that can be created on a list?

As the title says, is there a limit to the number of custom views that can be created on a SharePoint list?  I did a few online searches and someone mentioned 50, but one of my list already has more then 50 custom views so I'd like to know what the
    true limit is.
    Anyone know?

The only hard limit is to the number of views that can be shown in the drop down on the UI which is 50 (first 50 actually). I would agree with the assessment made here that the actual limit might be hypothetical but it all comes down to the performance in
    rendering and retrieving these views.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/8a0f9d4a-626a-4a54-916a-a1e347835c5e/what-is-the-limit-if-there-is-one-on-the-amount-of-views-that-can-be-on-a-single-sharepoint-list?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
I would suggest re looking at your approach to address the requirement by creating these many views and whether something else (dynamic pages, metadata navigation, term navigation, content search web parts etc.) can address the actual requirement
and in process actually improve page performance.
