Is there a limit to emails in the Inbox?

I use Thunderbird to download my emails to my computer This is the third time my Inbox has been wiped out and empty of all oft emails.

Technically No. Practically 4Gb is still the limit I would consider as the removal of the limit is to new to be trustworthy.
* Loss of mail in the mailbox can be caused by a corrupt index (right click the folder select properties and then repair)
* Quarantined by anti virus (look in the anti virus logs for a file called inbox)
* Hard disk errors (check disk with disk tools that come with the operating system)
* write errors caused by other programs (anti virus) locking the file to scan it (Create an exemption for the Thunderbird profile folder in your anti virus programs on access scanner)

  • Is there a limit of characters in the document JavaScripts window?

    Hi,
    I have several functions with huge arrays of data linked to a button field. All works fine if everything is declared in the document scripts and if the array is not too big. Once I try to insert a very huge array in the document script I receive the message "text is too large to be displayed in this dialogue". Why is so? Is there a limit of characters in the document script window?
    I am therefore trying to set up all arrays and functions in a separate javascript file and then embedded it into the 3d annotation. But when I do so,I loose the link to the button field action.
    As an example I have embedded in the 3d annotation:
    global.X= [[10,20,30,40],[5,15,25,35],[7,17,27,37]];
    function Update(n) {
         getAnnots3D(0)[0].activated = true;
         var a = global.X[0][n];
         var b = global.X[1][n];
         var c = global.X[2][n];
         var Mycamera = this.getAnnots3D(0)[0].context3D.scene.cameras.getByIndex(0);
         Mycamera.position.set(a,b,c);
         camera_1.roll = 0;
    and then I add in the button field Mouse Up action:
    Update(3);
    but nothing happens (while if the same script is in the document level script it works). I am probably missing the link between the embedded function and the button field? (either at host/doc/app level..)
    many thanks for the help!

    Your script contexts are messed up.
    That script is expecting to be run at the document level because it's collecting a reference to the 3D API (via getAnnots3D). You also have an undeclared variable (camera_1).
    If you want it to work as a 3D embedded script (not sure why) then you will need to remove the reference to "getAnnots3D.context3D" from the function, so you'd simply say
    var Mycamera = .scene.cameras.getByIndex(0);
    There's no point in using the first line of the function to activate the API, as the function wouldn't exist until it was active.
    Your button will then need to target the function with a reference, so it'd be getAnnots3D(0)[0].context3D.Update(3); (you will also want to put the activation command on the button's event)

    Is there some way that emails on the iphone can be automatically be deleted on synching when those emails have been downloaded to my PC?

    Vatlily,
    Try this:
    1. Select Mail>File>New Message.
    2. Select Mail>Window>Address Panel.
    3. Use (command+click) on the desired addressees in the Address Panel to create the list.
    4. Click "To:" on the top left of the Address Panel.
    The group that you selected will be added to the "To" field in your New Message.

  • Cannot see emails in the inbox, but can send emails out.  why?

    I bought the Galaxy S III about 3 months ago, and have been struggling to set up my personal email (my own domain hosted by godaddy.com).  my gmail accounts sync up nicely from day 1.
    Today, a tech rep from Godaddy.com suggested that i turn off wi-fi, and set up the account using the phone connection only.  That seemed to work, and i was able to set up personal email accounts (my own domain).
    Issues:  i cannot see any email in the Inbox. Every time i hit the button "load up to 50 more messages", the Update icon would spin for a few seconds, but no emails show up.  the message said "account last synced on date..., time....".  still no emails in the Inbox.
    a) i tried using the email software that came with the phone for the  (the icon has an envelope and a red seal in the middle).  the email was correctly set up, i was able to send emails out, but still no emails show up in my inbox.
    b) i tried using the K9 email app (downloaded from apps market, free).  the email was correctly set up, i was able to send emails out, but still no emails show up in my inbox.
    Does anyone know what i did wrong?  or is something wrong with my phone?
    thanks so much for your help

    good thinking.... I'm trying to set up Outlook 2010 on my desktop.  it's downloading emails from the server, but because i have so many emails up there (50K) for the past few years, it's not functioning properly yet.  i can see the emails and i can move them to different folders (10K emails in Inbox at a time, more get downloaded as i move emails out of the Inbox).  but i cannot send emails out from Outlook on the desktop.
    wonder if these 2 issues are related.
    i can see, receive and send emails directly on the server (web) no problem.
      I would try clearing out your inbox as much as possible, and then try it. Maybe it cannot index correctly to download because there are so many. Just a thought.

  • How do I delete all the emails from the inbox of my ipod touch?

    As a result of my lack of management, I now have 1500 emails in the inbox of my ipod Touch. I know how do delete them using "Edit", selecting each email and then deleting, but I would like to delete them all, in one action. How do I do this, please?

    There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do it. and there should be.
    Try this, I never have but it should work.
    on your touch go to
    1 Settings
    2 Mail, Contacts, Calendars
    3 select your email account ( the one with 1500 emails)
    4. scroll down and select Advanced
    5. select Remove
    6. select After one day  ( the default is never)
    tomorrow your 1500 emails should be gone. any new emails should be there.
    You may want to keep the setting at one day, one week, one month or never. BUT you should probably cleanup and delete some of those 1500 old emails.

  • Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox, and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox

    Every time I move emails from the inbox to another mailbox, then click on any mailbox (the emails are there fine), and then go back to the inbox, the moved messages have returned to the inbox. I have moved them out of the inbox to other mailboxes again and again, but then they keep showing up in the inbox again as soon as I click on any mailbox other than the inbox. Very frustrating.
    This has only happened since I installed Mavericks on both my Macbook Pro and my iMac. It happens on both of them.
    Any ideas how to fix it?
    peter

    This may be one of the known issues with Gmail and it's IMAP settings working with Maverick's Mail.
    It all comes down to if you have the ALL MAIL folder visible or not via IMAP.
    If you do not, then you get the behavior you are describing.
    If you do have ALL MAIL visible, then there isn't a problem.
    Odd, I know.
    Anyway, check out this article on Wired which describes the problem and work around. You may have to click on the NEXT button at the top of the window to advance to the proper gallery image that describes this issue:

  • After adding a new account, I can't delete emails from the inbox of this account.

    I just added a sixth account to my Thunderbird installation. There was no problem adding the account and I can send and receive emails without problem. However, I cannot delete emails from the inbox. What should I do to correct this?

    It is a POP account.
    I just backed up the profile.
    I don't know the size of the inbox nor how to see what it is nor change it. However, the inbox for this account is currently empty. (Yes, I know this post is about not being able to delete emails from the inbox, so how can it be empty? In my research I found a post of someone with the same problem who discovered he could move emails from the inbox to another folder and then delete that folder (not the individual mails in the folder, but only the entire folder). That is how I emptied the inbox, but it is a very cumbersome work around that I shouldn't have to do.

If I do a search for emails that also checks the server then all of a sudden I end up with various amounts unread email with the inbox saying "Inbox 71" ..which is not true. The only way to make the inbox on the iphone back to 0 is to delete the account then re install it.
    Anyone have any ideas

    My husband and I share an email address and if he misses a day checking email on his notebook, he doesn't receive the items that I have sent to Trash on my iPad Mini.
    Appreciate suggestions.
    [The curious thing is, if I "move" the deleted emails from Trash on my iPad Mini into the Inbox, I can go to my notebook, open my online email and they are back in my ATT/Yahoo Inbox.]

    Is your Yahoo account set up as POP3 or IMAP?

  • I can't access a block of emails in the inbox of one of my email addresses. What has happened?

    When I click on emails in the inbox of one of my email addresses, nothing is displayed (or in the case of one of them, a large block of characters is displayed, like this "C+Z3dc7paG+d3jJtavOUpob6ulqppnp").
    This only affects emails up until the last few days, which all appear to be OK. I can also send and receive emails to this particular email address.
    What may have happened, and what can I do about it?

    right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button.

  • Emails sent to me are sometime returned to the sender with the message "Inbox full" even though I have maybe less than 100 emails in the Inbox and I regularly compact them. How can I increase the storage space?

    Question
    Emails sent to me are sometime returned to the sender with the message "Inbox full" even though I have maybe less than 100 emails in the Inbox and I regularly compact them. I delete emails from the Inbox and the Sent and Trash boxes to overcome this. How can I increase the storage space to stop this happening?

    Hi terrybohle1938,
    Firefox is a web browser. It provides access to online content. Things like your email are handled by the content provider. Who is your email provider? You'll have better luck consulting their documentation.
    That being said, deleting only email is a great way to free up space. Another option would be to purchase a "Premium" account if your email provider offers this service. Many times more storage space is offered as part of paid subscription.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Missing email from the Inbox

    I have an iPhone 5 that doesn't display a particular email in the Inbox, but a subsequent search finds the email and location field on the email says "Inbox".

    Disregard.
    I had to use the oldest trick in the book and Quit the Mail app and restart.
    Duh!
