Is there a limit to how large an iCal account can be?

I have a client with very large calendar sets, some of them span several years.  I am getting all sorts of weird issues with them dropping their connection to the calendar server in OS X Server, latest updates etc...If I remote in and toggle Calendar services on/off it seems to come back for a time then drops again...I am pretty lost at this point..I thought upgrading from the the Snow Leopard server would resolve this issue but it persists.
Thoughts anyone?

I have hosted calendars with over 2,000 events.  No problem.
I suspect that your calendar data may be corrupt in some way.
Use iCal to export that calendar to a text file.
Look through the text file and make sure everything you expect is there.
Create a new calendar and import the events into it.
Subscribe your user(s) to the new calendar.
Delete the old calendar.

  • Is there any limit on how many records a cursor can hold?

    Hi Everyone,
This is Amit here. I want to know whether there is any limit on how many records a cursor can hold.
I have a program in which i am creating a cursor and passing it to another procedure as an input parameter. But the count of cursor query is more than 15 Lakhs. The program is running forever.
Just wanted to know whether the huge data is the problem.
    Thanks ....
    Regards,
    Amit

Now multiply that waiting for I/O time with a million - for a million rows. Or by a billion, for a billion rows.
Is "+huge data+" a problem? Not really - it simple needs more work to get that amount of data from disk. More work means slower performance. It is that simple.
Which is why the row-by-row approach used by many developers is wrong. You do not pull a million rows from disk and process it in PL/SQL or Java or .Net. Heck, you do not even pull 10,000 rows like that.
The correct approach is to think data sets and use SQL to process that for you - and only return the bare minimum of data to the application layer. Maximize SQL. Minimize PL/SQL and Java and .Net.

  • Is there a limit to how many pages my form can be?

Im at 6 so far and I just started. it is very dynamic and there is a lot of show/hide fields. It is basically 6 forms in one. I am worried that by the time i finish itll be too big.

There isn't a physical limit in Designer, however each form takes resources to operate. The more functionality you build into a form, in particular a large form, the more resources it will take to drive it. At some point Acrobat/Reader will fall over and crash. For example some events are efficient, but others, if used unwisely, are very inefficient. Have a look at the layout:ready event: http://assure.ly/nB0Bvz. Niall

  • Is there a limit to how many TV shows you can add to iTunes

i recently added and entire season and only two episodes show up under TV and the rest are under recently added anyone know how to solve this? i restarted my mac and quit and restarted itunes anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this ? the episodes show up under recently added and in front row

These files are from iTunes Store?
Make a new playlist window and add the files there. Do they all show up?  Sometimes a file may not becorrectly tagged and will not show up where you expect it to.  You can edit tags in a Get Info window for a file.

  • Is there a limit to how big the video file can be, storage size or pixel size, when inserting in a powerpoint?

When I add a video file to a ppt file using adobe presenter 9 it will now work when it reaches that slide.  the video will start but at about 30 seconds in it will tear to green.  Sometimes it will return and sometimes it will just stop after that.  When it comes back it will continue until about 40-45 seconds in then on a fade to black it will not play anymore. The slider will continue as if it is playing but no output is seen on the screen.
The video file in question is 165MB, 1920 x1080 pixels MP4
If I convert it to smaller, 65MB, 1080 x 608 MP4 file everything works with no issue.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
    Things I have checked:
    Adobe updated
    Office Updated
    Windows Updated
    Drivers updated
    64 bit consistency
    Source file validation
    Rebooted computer
    Flash installed
    Flash trust enabled

Do you notice a quality difference when playing the two videos in Presenter? I'm not a fan of HD video in Presenter, mainly because of the reduced screen real estate that is available for video. I find that around 720 X 480 usually works just fine, and keeps the file bloat down (as you have seen just in your change you lost 100 MB). I don't believe there is a limitation on what you can place in Presenter, but it may be a matter of what can be delivered effectively. There may also be something odd in the encoding of the 1080 version of your video. If you re-encode it at the same resolution, with the settings of the lesser resolution video, does it play back as expected?

here is what Apple has to say:

  • Is there a limit to how many AExp that can be streamed to at once?

    Hi Guys and Girls
Have been looking at the Sonos system for a while now but I wonder if multiple AE would be a cheaper alternative?
Is there a limit to how many Airport Express units can be streamed to at once? The house is quite large and I would like to have about 8 AExpress with powered speakers attached and play the same music to them all at once... I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is limited to 3 but it wasn't an Apple website and I can't find any official information regarding limits!
    Any help?

    Bob - thanks for advice.
Back to revisiting this issue after trying to address some other things.
I added as an html article but that didn't resolve the problem. In a browser the html renders left aligned. In DPS I am able to swipe to the previous article, but not the next. Not sure if DPS is interpreting that there is more content to the right (even though it is actually dead space beyond my 768px width target.
From another discussion thread it seems to be a jQuery issue. Not sure if there is a jQuery function I can drop into Muse or exported files that will resolve this. I posted my question there as well, but it is an older thread.
The other question/assumption I had was...I assume that when I add as HTML article all my interaction has to be handled in the HTML because it essentially bypasses InDesign an the ability to use DPS overlays.

  • Is there a limit to how many files bridge can view at one time?

Our company works with high volumes of images and we would like to use Bridge to organize, search, and view these images prior to working on them in Adobe Photoshop/Premiere ETC..  Is there a limit to how many files that Bridge can handle at one time?  We have hundreds of thousands of videos and photos.

Many have found that using more then 5000 files per folder can slow down performance but this depends on system resources (fast processor and much RAM). However Video is not always the strongest point of Bridge as it seems due to some other posts.
And since you talk about a company, you have to be aware that Bridge is not designed nor official supported for use over a network. A dedicated DAM like Canto Cumulus or Portfolio Server might be more suitable for this tasks but they also come with a price I'm afraid.

  • Is there a limit to how many times you can extend a WiFi Network?

I assume there is a limit based on the number of IPs available but is there a limit to how many times a WiFi network can be extended or is there a limit to how many Airport Extremes can talk to each other?
I know this probably not a concern of the average home user but if you wanted to deploy these in a large building or even a very large piece of property, what's the upper limit?
I already have 3 Airport (n) routers and I was thinking of adding two more. Will i hit a physical limit or just a point of diminishing returns?

Can you clerify by what you mean when you say "remotes" sorry for my ignorance. but just trying to understand.
A remote WDS node is connected to a main or base WDS node wirelessly.
A base WDS node is connected by wire to the interenet.
A relay WDS node relays or passes the wireless signal from a base WDS node to a remote WDS node.
Clients connect to either the base or remote nodes. A relay node can be configured to accept connections from clients as well.
Also This reduction in half is this a limitation be design? Is this caused by the limit in channels or is there some sort or mechanism in place? just curious.
Think about how the remote WDS node needs to communicate with both the base station and the wireless client at the same time, so the available bandwidth is effectively halved as half is used by the remote to connect with the client and the other half is used to connect with the base node.
It's not quite the same as two wireless clients on an individual base station as they would rarely be using the full bandwidth at the same time.

  • Is there a limit on how many times I can install my CS5?

I own CS5 and have it installed on 2 computers. I need to upgrade my computers and am wondering if I am going to have any trouble installing CS5 onto new machines. Is there a limit on how many times I can install the program? Do I have to verify ownership first or what?

I believe the limit on how any times an application can be installed has been removed, but, as it stands, there is no limit to the number of installations you can have... just the number of activated installations.  For what it sounds like you are doing, there is should not be an issue of hitting a limit even if there is one.
If you are reinstalling on new machines then you probably want to deactivate the current installations before you attempt to activate on the new machines.

  • Is there a limit to how many songs you can have on the offline mode?

I am trying to get all my albums to sync with my phone and be available offline but It keeps on saying that I have selected too many tracks for the offline mode. Is there a limit to how many songs you can have? Thanks :)

Spotify applies a limit of 3,333 tracks but everything is dependent on your phones on-board memory
as Spotify actually copies the tracks to it so you don't need internet connection.
My Galaxy S2 has 11 odd GB and I filled it with 1800 tracks (albeit some were 20 - 30 mins).
Also check if you use on-board memory for photos etc. 'cos Spotify will use a lot of it.
I have asked them to look at this and maybe give warnings about Spotify's memory usage rather
    than the number of tracks.
