Is there a limit to sharing folios?

As the subject states, is there a limit to the number of people to share your folio with?
To demo an app to different users. And this without having a professional or enterprise account yet.
Thanks for the info!

I think it’s 100 but I won’t swear to that.

I shared more than 3000 pictures in icloud, but when I try to watch them in another device  I can only see 300. Is there a limit on the number of pictures I can share?

    Quick Answer: Yes.
If you are looking at My Photo Stream, check this out: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
How long are My Photo Stream photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to My Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them.
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
Because your Mac and PC have more storage than your iOS devices, you can choose to have all of your My Photo Stream photos automatically downloaded. In iPhoto or Aperture preferences on your Mac, select Photos (or Photo Stream) > My Photo Stream > Automatic Import. All of your photo stream photos will be imported into your Events, Projects, Photos, Faces, and Places folders in iPhoto or Aperture. On your PC with My Photo Stream enabled in the Control Panel, all of your photos will be imported into C:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream. For iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.1.2 users, the path isC:\\Users\<user name>\Pictures\Photo Stream\My Photo Stream .
If you are using a Shared Photo Stream, check this out:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903 and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5902
How many photos and videos can be stored in a shared stream?
A shared stream can hold a maximum of 5000 photos and videos combined. When you reach your limit, you must delete some photos or videos before adding new ones.
How long are iCloud Photo Sharing photos and videos stored in iCloud?
The photos and videos you share (and the comments or Likes associated with those photos) remain in iCloud until you or the contributor delete them manually, or until you delete the shared stream completely.

  • Folio Producer, Shared Folios and Content Viewer

    Hi,
Forgive me if this answer is posted elsewhere and after some searching I wasn't able to find an answer.
I have several folios that students share with me. When you have 30 students or even more each semester sharing folios it starts to add up!
So, I was hoping I could use the Folio Producer to manage which folios (that they have shared with me) show up in my iPad content viewer app. I thought I could check, "Content Viewer for Web Only" in the bottom right of the window when I highlight the folio but when I do, the folio still shows up in the content viewer app.
The number of folios in my content viewer app is unyieldy and some folios aren't showing.
    1. Am I using that feature correctly?
    2. Is there any way to manage the folios so I can keep them but not have to delete?
    3. If folios are not showing in the content viewer app, does this mean there is a limit to the number of folios that can be viewed in the content viewer app?
    Thank you in advance.
    Deb

    1. No, that feature is for something entirely different (related to social sharing)
    2. Not really. When they are in your account they show up in Adobe Content Viewer. That's what Adobe Content Viewr is for: to show you the folios in your account.
    3. There's no limit. If the folios aren't showing up it probably means they aren't the right size for an iPad. They have to be 1024x768 or 2048x1536.

  • Is there a limit to the number of Apple TV's attached to an iTunes Library

I recently replaced 7 (seven) Version 1 Apple TV's with Version 3 Apple TV's and noticed that I now receive an error, "Cannot connect to the iTunes Library, ensure that you are on the same network, etc." on two of the Apple TV's. Shutting down iTunes and relaunching results in two others not being able to connect, but two of the previous non-connects now do. I've tried this several times and each time it appears as if only 5 of the ATV's can connect at once. Is this a limit imposed upon by Apple? Is there any workaround besides having two of the "non-connects" access the iTunes store for purchased content? The library is extensive and contains a lot of purchased content, but also contains legacy content from old CD's, DVD's and the like. I'd like to be able to access all of it if possible.
Note that the way this used to work with the older ATV's was that 2 would directly sync and 5 would stream. But with each new iteration of iTunes these ATV's seemed to get flakier and flakier hence the replacement. The new ATV's are all connected via Home Sharing.
I'm running iTunes 11.0.2 on a Mac Mini OS X Server (10.6.8). Would it help to upgrade to the latest OS?  I can understand bandwidth issues, but we're running a Gigabit ethernet (wired) network to these ATV's and the old ones worked fine previously. Why impose this limit? Come on Apple. Give us a little love for those of us that push your tech to the limit.

  • Is there a limit in the number of user accounts on Mavericks?

    Hi
I would like to create a system with a lot of user accounts (+/- 200).
    I have two questions:
    - Is there a limit in the user accounts on Mavericks? Where can I find more infomation about this?
    - Is there a possibility to automatically create a high number of accounts? Or at least some sort of template?
    Huge thanks for any help.

I don't think that there is a limit.
Are you using OS X Maverics Server?

In many organizations, a single shared directory domain is adequate. It can handle hundreds of thousands of users and thousands of computers sharing the same resources, such as printer queues, share points for home directories, share points for applications, and share points for documents.

  • New Photos Don't Show On My Apple TV -- Is There a limit? An "Update" button? ...?

I have my Apple TV 2nd gen set so that after two minutes is shows photos from my computer as screensaver.
I have an album in iPhoto where I drag the photos I want and I've told the Apple TV to pick up those photos.  Has always worked fine.
Recently I added some pictures to that album but they don't show on the Apple TV -- just the previous photos are on display.  Is there a limit?  There are 94 photos in that album.  Have I forgotten some sort of "update" button? ...
All the settings both on the Apple TV and my iTunes look fine and I recently ran whatever update Apple wanted me to (I had this photo hiccup both before and after that upgrade so that ain't it).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Possible iTunes issue:
Try the following after adding photos.
    Go to file
    Then Home Sharing
    Select photos to share
Click on All Photos already selected Do anyway
When Apply turns black click on Apply
Now go to Apple TV to see if photos there
    Or restart iTunes.
Works for me every time photos do not appear on my Apple TV 3
    Hopefully will work for you.

  • HT201272 Is there a limit on downloading previously purchased songs?

Is there a limit on downloading previously purchased songs?

I think what the message is saying is that if you download past purchases for that account then you will be tying the Mac to that account for 90 days - I was thinking that it was saying that it's already associated with an account, not that you are about to associate it. If you don't want that to happen (which if it's your only account then it shouldn't be an issue), then you should be able to copy the content from your other Mac to it via, for example, home sharing : copying content between computers.

  • Trouble viewing shared folio on PC or Mac

First, DPS is an awesome suite, I just need to learn more about it.
Second, I'm trying to share a folio and its content with several people to review, and they don't all have devices readily available to view it.  How do they view it on their computer in a browser?  I've logged in and there doesn't seem to be a 'view' option available anywhere?  It lets them go inside the folio and see the article names, but how do they view the articles themselves, as clicking them does nothing?

Well, the automated email says "To ... access the folio in the Folio Producer web client, click on the link above.... Users can also view the shared folio by...."  It is the confusion that bothers me.  A client with an ongoing publication will have devices, certainly.  But in the corporate world, things go out to people across other departments and disciplines that will not have / know how to use InDesign to preview a folio.  Some will probably not even have an Adobe ID.  So after we get them signed up and shared with, to expect them to know and understand that the link in the email is useless to them, that they should instead install the Adobe Content Viewer on a mobile device and that the shared item it will magically appear when they launch it is the problem.
Once you have logged in with your Adobe ID to DPS (which is already a Flash website, meaning it is capable of showing/playing almost anything!), it just seems neglectful for there to be no way to actually view the folios/articles.
But maybe there is some other way to share this interactive content prior to publishing that I am missing? But I'm only a Team CC member, so I don't think I have access to the social sharing thing, etc.

  • Is there a limit to how many devices I can use with wifi / fibre?

We are a large household and might have 8 people connecting laptop/TV/phone to wifi / fibre at any one time. Is there a limit / recommended maximums and is it wifi/router or the internet itself that is the controlling factor?Any advice much appreciated.

Is there someway of increasing the number of devices connected?Mark39 wrote:
From memory, I believe Sky routers will permit a maximum of 16 wireless connections. The number that it's practical to connect really depends on the way they're used and your available bandwidth (broadband speed) as it will be shared between all the connected devices. If your available download broadband speed is 5Mbps, 8 connections are likely to be pretty slow.

  • Is there a limit to how many IP addresses can be allocated by an iPhone 4 for tethering?

In order to activate 30x iPods, I had to try to tether them one by one to my iPhone 4. I would tether one, activate it, switch it off totally (my data provider only allows 1 or 2 tethers at the same time), then move on to the next one. Unfortunately, this only worked properly around 9 - 10 times. After this, although new devices would appear as tethered on the iPhone, they would not be allocated an IP address by the phone and so could not get Internet access (they reverted to APIPA addresses). I could not then tether anything else to the phone that hadn't already been joined. The only cure I found was to totally restore the iPhone.
Is there a limit to how many IPs can be allocated by the iPhone 4?
Are these allocations time-limited, so I can re-use addresses after a period of time without having to restore the phone?

Are those photos or videos in your camera roll? or in shared albums or photostream?
You can only import photos from camera roll.

  • Sharing folio ads vs adobe id's

in our monthly magazine we got some ads. Folio's are created on the fly but has to be aproved by each client before the magazine is published.
At this point I'm creating a new Adobe ID for each client so I can share with them a copy of their individual ad and let them preview it inside Adobe Viewer.
But on this tempo in a couple of months I've got maybe 50 Adobe ID's, and most of them are only used once or twice and will never be used in the future.
Is there a 'prefered' way to handle this ?
Can I remove (delete) Adobe ID's once they are not in use anymore ?
Is there a limit on the amount of Adobe ID's I can create ?
    thanx in advance,
    Herman Belgy

    thanks (again) Bob ;-)
clients are lazy on our site, it's already a job to explain the Adobe Content Viewer so explaining about the Adobe ID procedure and why they have to do all this will scare them of I think. But as tablets (and clients) grew further, it's a nice tip I keep in mind.
    Thanks

  • Sharing folio IPad problem

To test the sharing folio feature I went ahead and sent an email to one of my e mail accounts. If I open the link on my desktop browser it displays fine but if I try to open the link in an IPad using Safari I get the unsupported browser error. Is this part of the Adobe Apple feud?
But my goal is to share with someone who has an IPad and from what I read I can do this as long as the person I'm sharing with has an Adobe ID and the Adobe Content viewer. So if I sent to someone with those credentials how wil they be able to view it if they have an IPad as I could not ( only thru my desktop)
    R

There are two different sharing features in DPS, which can be somewhat confusing. There is the Share option in the Folio Builder panel menu that lets you share a folio with another user. There is also a social sharing feature that lets you share a published article in a custom viewer through facebook, twitter, or email. I assume you're talking about the Share option.
Once you use the Share command to share a folio with someone else, that person needs to make sure that their email account is verified to work with DPS. The easiest way to do that is to sign in to the Dashboard (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com) and follow the prompts. When the recipient signs in to the Folio Builder panel in InDesign, they can see the shared folio and view it using the desktop viewer. If the recipient has an iPad, they just need to sign in to the Adobe Content Viewer using their verified Adobe ID, and the shared folio will appear.

  • Sharing Folio With Someone Via Email.

I'm new to DPS, and I'm creating a sample folio in order to see how it works.  The problem I'm having is that
the Folio articles themselves do not show up, i.e. no words and images as I see in InDesign.
Below is a description of what I did and what I see.
I created two articles and put them in one folio.  The very first thing I really want to learn how to do is how to share this with someone, especially someone like a potential employer, who may or may not have their own DPS or Adobe account.
So, I understand that in the Folio Builder there is a dropdown menu
on the top right corner of that window where you can select Share, and then enter in someone's email address.
I sent it to myself as a test, incidentally another email address than the one I have used to log into Adobe for my DPS use.
When I get the email, it contains a link.  The wording is like: MYNAME has shared the SAMPLENAME folio with you.
The email also has this line: To accept the invitation or access the folio in the Folio Producer web client, click on the link above.
So, when I click on it, it goes to a page on this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com, and
then loads this page with Digital Publishing Suite at the top.  A row of drop down menus and buttons, including a button named "Open."
Then it shows my SAMPLENAME folio in a row.
If I select the name of my folio, and click the "Open" button, it goes to a new page, with
Digital Folio Producer: Editor at the top, with SAMPLENAME next to it.  Then it has a row
of buttons and a slider for Thumbnail size. Below that are two drop down menus with
the names of my articles, SAMPLEARTICLE1 and SAMPLEARTICLE2.  Those dropdown
menus contain the options: Copy to...; Delete...; Lock; Rename...
I do not see my actual articles, words and images.  I do not see how to open these up.  I cannot find anywhere on the
internet, including in Adobe video tutorials, if anyone else has had this problem, or how to solve it.  Can anyone please help?

Bob, thanks again for responding.  I have to say though that I still need more clarification, or perhaps this is something that Adobe is not doing correctly.  In other words, can you pass this along up the chain, so that it is fixed, so that a team of engineers comes up with a better solution?  I'm talking about the regular sharing, not the "social sharing," which is beyond me as I don't have a pro or enterprise DPS subscription.
I need to understand exactly how I'm supposed to share a folio with someone.  I suppose that of the two evils, requiring an H.R. person to have InDesign with DPS installed on their computer versus having an iPad where they can download the free Adobe Content Viewer, then the ACV app is the lesser of two evils.
Can you please break it down into steps.
Such as 1.  Once having created a folio that I want to share I tell the person I want to share it with----go to
this web page: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/welcome.html, create an account.  Then, tell me the
email address you used to create the account.  Then, download the Adobe Content Viewer on your ipad.
    Then, sign into that account.
    2. I select "Share" from the dropdown menu of the folio builder, and type in the email address they used to
register with Adobe's DPS page, and perhaps include a message and send it.
    3. The recipient sees the email, and then DOESN'T click on the links inside the email.  They just understand----or I tell them----that they should ignore the link------and go to their app, where they will see an update button, and then
they update it and it downloads the Folio I've been wanting to share with them.
    Is this correct?
If this is correct, why is it not spelled out this way anywhere on the site, or in the tutorial video?
And also, if this is correct, does this not seem crazy?
What is the point of the email being sent, which has links in it, if the links are not to be clicked?
Why can I NOT------just as an example off the top of my head----export a Folio in a format that can be
read by a standalone Adobe Content Viewer, that any person can download from an Adobe page?
Like the way an SWF file can be exported from Flash, and then played by a email recipient via a
standalone Flash Player.  Yes, you either have to send them a standalone Flash player, or they
need to download it themselves, but I don't think they have to register to do it.  And they don't
need to sign in within Flashplayer.
First of all, asking a recipient to download and register their own Adobe ID (let's assume they are not a
graphic designer) is bad enough.  But then, in order to share it with them, I send them an email with links
    that don't work as expected.
    I've got an idea.
Let's say that some people you want them to see the Folio on their ipad, not be able to
edit it, just view it such as with the Adobe Content Viewer app.  And there are other people where you want
them to be able to edit it in Folio Producer at this domain: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com
How about there are two different actions in InDesign to take for these two very different scenarios?
Are you telling me there is one method that enables both of these outcomes?  This same email that's generated
is for these two separate purposes?
Even the method for viewing the shared Folio which is to sign in, within Folio Builder which is within InDesign, doesn't require going to the email.  The email seems to be sent just as an acknowledgment that you enabled this Folio to be
shared with a particular person (identified by their email address).
In other words, if you just want someone to take a look at it, and they have Folio Builder and thus Desktop Content Viewer, the "Share" action could enable sharing on the Adobe website, but an email doesn't actually need to get sent to the person with whom it's being shared.  The links in the email will just confuse them.
So, the https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com page, found through the link in the email is strictly for editing it the Folio outside of InDesign--------but you cannot view it in your browser.  In other words, if you don't have InDesign, then you
can edit in your desktop browser, and you can view it on your iPad, but you cannot edit it on your iPad, or view it in your desktop browser.  Is this correct?
I think something needs to be done, this process doesn't seem elegant.  And there needs to be more clear explanation of this process outside the forum.

  • Shared folio stopped updating in Content Viewer

It appears that updates have stopped being pushed to a relatively large shared folio that we're working on (it is still internal and has not been published). Updates to this folio were working just fine, but they seem to have stopped sometime in the past two weeks. Here's what I know:
I am logged into my Adobe account in Content Viewer
I can view the "old" version of the folio that's currently stored on my iPad
The new content is visible in Folio Producer Editor (so it made it's way from InDesign to Adobe's servers)
No "Update Available" message appears in Content Viewer
We've attempted to share the folio with other Adobe accounts, and it won't push out to their accounts
I tried archiving it on my iPad, and it's now completely gone from Content Viewer (even though it's still shared with my Adobe Account)
Updates to other shared folios and new folios are being pushed through just fine, so it appears that Content Viewer is communicating with Adobe properly. It's just this one large folio - with 50+ articles and metadata fully populated - that suddenly decided it didn't want to update anymore.
My fear is that the folio is corrupt and that we are going to have to rebuild it, which will likely take several hours. Is there a way to quickly clone and publish a folio?  Is there some new setting in Folio Producer that we need to activate? Would updating to the latest version of Builder and Producer Tools have screwed things up (which I doubt, since other folios are behaving normally)?
    Thanks,
    - Chris

I too having the same problem like you guys, it just suddenly stop working for me 3 days ago. It did noticed there's an update but failed to download it.

I also noticed that my "Fast company" stop working as well, keep giving me the same error.
