Is there a MASS COMPARISON tool available anywhere?

Hello friends,
Is there a mass comparison tool available? I have over hundred programs in QA environment which must be compared to their counterpart in the DEV environment. Currently the only way I know is to go through the list and compare one at a time which is very tedious, time consuming and error prone. So, an alternative to this is most welcome.
Thanks for your help.

Hello Goharjou
I would create a simple eCATT testscript for transaction SE39 (Split-screen Editor) where you compare the source on DEV vs. QA system. When you push the "Comparison On" button in the split-screen editor you will get the message "The Programs are not identical" (EDCMP, 417) if the two sources are not identical.
This way you can restrict the number of program objects which actually differ on DEV vs. QA.

  • Is there a ruleset comparison tool available in the market?

    Dear all,
I wanted to know if there is a SAP GRC ruleset comparison tool available in the market? As a part of our audit requirement, I would need to compare our current rulesets with the ones from last quarter - To identify any changes/enhancements.
I know Bizrights Approva supports a comparison tool called ExamXML where we can perform a comparison of 2 XML files and figure out the differences/ changes.
Please let me know if any of you has used such a tool for GRC ruleset comparison.
    Thanks,
    Kunal

If any auditor is comparing sap delivered rule sets with a companies' grc rule sets (without deep investigations) and reporting the differences in his/her audit report (as white spaces)  then the auditor is doing it the wrong way.
The auditor should be aware of the following facts:
    1. SAP delivered rule sets are mere best practices (only starting point)
    2. Most of the customers modify/update the rule sets as per their requirements
    3. Organizational rules are created by customers differently
    4. Some customers don't even choose sap delivered rule sets and completely create their own.
So the difference between rule sets is obvious, but these findings may or may not be entirely appropriate to reach to a conclusion for audit purposes.

If you are using a Bluetooth keyboard on your iPad device, you should take advantage of the keyboard shortcuts for quicker access to copy, cut, paste, undo, redo, and other commands.
    Command + C : Copy Selected Text
    Command + V : Paste
Command + X: Cut Selected Text
    Command + Z: Undo

  • Is there a .pst migration tool available?

I am migrating pop maliboxes (.pst) files onto our JMS server using IMAP and it is sluggish. The server is an x4140 (2 dual core processors) with 4GB RAM and SAS (SCSI) HDD's and yet over our 100Mb/s LAN it takes 2.5 hours to move 1GB (~5000 emails) up to the server. It only takes 17 minutes for Thunderbird to import them from the .pst file. Is there any tools that can migrate pst folders into a users mailbox from the server itself?

    ethoms wrote:
Whilst you are performing the migration, is the bottleneck Outlook,Thunderbird or Messaging Server i.e. are you seeing high CPU/I/O load
on the Messaging Server end or on the PC end?>
Bottleneck seems to be IMAP itself, or the performance of server, I have not checked the server's load whilst uploading. I would not know how to, in linux or Solaris Express I have 'top' command which would give me a rough idea. You can use the "prstat" command to check CPU utilisation.
In general I'm getting good performance from the comms suite, comms express is incredibly fast and normal usage of thick clients seems fine. The IMAP append operation which is used to copy emails using via the IMAP protocol is very write-I/O intensive as you need to write the actual message data and also perform multiple store database operations (new message, message IMAP flags). This means the speed and throughput of your I/O subsystem is essential.
You should always make sure that you have set the store.dbtmpdir configutil parameter to a temporary filesystem e.g.
    # ./configutil -o store.dbtmpdir
/tmp/msg-mailstore1This will help to reduce I/O load.
I do find that Outlook is more sluggish than it was with POP accounts though, tbird is much better IMAP client IMHO.No argument here.
It seem sto me it's the hand-shaking that is taking the time, not the data transfer. The IMAP client shouldn't be reconnecting for each new email that is being copied so there is no additional "hand-shaking" after the first message.
In that respect I would guess that 1GB of data in 200 emails would upload much faster than 1GB of data in 5000 emails, but that's just a guess.I would expect the same as you would also have much fewer IMAP flag operations.
I notice that in the outlook connector configurator it does support conversion/uopload of "Microsoft POP accounts" as well as Exchange. It supports "MS POP profiles" i.e. MS Outlook configured to use a POP account.
When I install the connector of these accounts it sometimes manages to transfer the contacts and tasks to the server, but not the email folders. Is it possible I just need to tweak the configurator a little more? There is an option to enable the conversion/upgrade of "MS POP" and "MS IMAP" profiles in the User Profiles tab in the latest version of the Outlook Connector (7.3 update 1). Have you selected both of these options?

    Shane.

  • Is there a good GUI tool on linux for backups? What do YOU use?

    Hi all,
I feel Linux lacks a good and simple graphical tool to do desktop backups for regular users. I'm thinking of writing one myself (probably a front-end to a good command line tool), but before I get started, I want to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel.
    So:
    - Is there a good graphical tool available already? It should be: simple (minimalist interface, sane defaults), fast and incremental.
    - What do YOU currently use for your desktop backups?
EDIT: rsync alone is not great, because a good backup solution keeps multiple snapshots. Imagine you deleted a file by accident 15 days ago, and realize only today: rsync won't save you.
EDIT2 : I have tried backintime, I think it's a step in the right direction, but it's not that great. Maybe I should improve on it instead of starting something new, though.
EDIT3 : Has anyone tried PyBackPack (http://andrewprice.me.uk/projects/pybackpack/) ? I'm trying it at the moment and it seems to be getting it right. I'd like to hear some success stories before getting my hopes to high

It doesn't snapshot -- I occasionally back-up my back-ups and don't need that -- but it does its job well.

  • HT1338 does preview have an extract tool available through an update?

I saw an extraction tool available in the selection menu of preview with the Snow Leopard operating system, while I was watching a tutorial.  Is there a similar extraction tool available to use within Mountain Lion?

I agree workflow is not SOA (Service Orientated Architecture). Oracle's strategic direction is BPEL / BPM, and Oracle workflow is moving to end of life.
BPEL is part of SOA Suite but you do have the option to buy standalone, it does have a prerequisite of weblogic suite though.
Although Oracle markets the product SOA Suite it does not mean you you have to develop a SOA architecture, you can still develop point to point interfaces as you do in workflow. SOA Suite just enables you get more reuse out of your existing systems, and future developments. If you want you can keep you workflow develop as it and integrate BPEL / SOA Suite with it.
Im sure you are very skilled in workflow but these skills are becomming very hard to find. They require strong PL/SQL skills and typically don't work with any other application or database without doing some customization. The fact that there is limited documentation shows that it is going to be difficult to upskill developers.
For the functionality Oracle provides in its BPM and SOA Suite I would say it is cheap, especially against our competitors. Also the more you buy the cheaper it gets.
    cheers

  • Is there a tool available that can be executed by another process to scale the actual size of a PDF?

Is there a tool available that can be executed by another process to scale the actual size of the printed PDF file by X%?  We are attaching PDF files to printed output using the Oracle DocuMaker product, and are running into margin issues with the attached PDF.  We need to keep a 3/4 inch margin on our pages for sorting/finishing equipment, and the attached PDFs do not all conform to our margin requirements.

What email program are you using? And what do you mean by "Safari mail"?

  • Is there any Scripting tool available?

    Hi,
I am brand new to Web AS and wondering is there any command line scripting tool available within Web AS? For example, something similar to BEA's WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) that is based on Jython or IBM’s WebSphere Administrative (wsadmin) that is based on Jacl and Jython.
    Any input/comments/pointers are much appreciated.

Yes, I believe you can use any text editor, including a javascript editors to write serverside AS, but may not get intellisense in most of those editors while coding.
check the above links for a development IDE with intellisense enjoy

  • Help|| Is there any tool available to register Oracle datasource objects into JNDI

Is there any tool available to register Oracle datasource objects into JNDI.If so please tell me where can I download.
    Thanks
    shiva

I'd like to know the answer to this also.
I just started reading about JNDI 2 days ago and have never used it. I'd like to use DataSource in my application with JNDI. If I can use the database as my JNDI "server", then I'd prefer to do that instead of having a seperate external server.

  • Is there any off the shelf credit card enryption/decrption tool available ?

Since, Credit Card (CC) processing is very critical , my company is looking for options which are available in the market -ready to use !!!
Is there any off the shelf credit card enryption/decrption tool available ?

    What is "credit card encryption/decryption"?
    1) Are you willing to encrypt and decrypt credit card numbers in a safe way, to store them in a database?
    - JCE and crypto
    2) Are you willing to communicate with the credit card companies to perform credit card transactions in a safe way?
    - Contact them; there are third-party companies that sell solutions for communicating with Visa, Mastercard etc; the credit card company can tell you what company they recommend
    3) Are you trying to validate the credit card numbers (no online processing needed, just validate the card numbers in Javascript)

It's ok to use fc command:
    >fc /?
Compares two files or sets of files and displays the differences between
    them
    FC [/A] [/C] [/L] [/LBn] [/N] [/OFF[LINE]] [/T] [/U] [/W] [/nnnn]
       [drive1:][path1]filename1 [drive2:][path2]filename2
    FC /B [drive1:][path1]filename1 [drive2:][path2]filename2
/A         Displays only first and last lines for each set of differences.
      /B         Performs a binary comparison.
/C         Disregards the case of letters.
/L         Compares files as ASCII text.
/LBn       Sets the maximum consecutive mismatches to the specified
                 number of lines.
/N         Displays the line numbers on an ASCII comparison.
/OFF[LINE] Do not skip files with offline attribute set.
/T         Does not expand tabs to spaces.
/U         Compare files as UNICODE text files.
/W         Compresses white space (tabs and spaces) for comparison.
/nnnn      Specifies the number of consecutive lines that must match
                 after a mismatch.
      [drive1:][path1]filename1
Specifies the first file or set of files to compare.
      [drive2:][path2]filename2
Specifies the second file or set of files to compare.

  • Object comparison tool with reflection

I'm writing some piece of code to compare two java objects without equals method. I use java reflection to get all the declared fields in the class of the object and all the objects that resides in it. It goes inside of all the objects and collection objects recursively. It gets all the declared fields of the higherarchy. My objective is to get all these field values for both root objects to be compared and then compare these fields to compare the two objects. I can not use equals method as it is implemented in some classes of the package I use. The problem I face is that when I traverse into a collection object, it has no name (can't get a name from reflection) and when there are collection objects inside collection objects the situation gets worse. I don't have a way to identify the declared values. If duplicated values are there in a collection, I don't have a way to store them for comparison as they are not unique.
Is there any tool available which does this comparison with the use of reflection? That is, given two java objects, it lists their differences. Any Idea?????

Thank you for your reference. What I actually need is to identify the positions of differences between two objects and show the differences in an higherachycal way.
So I want to get the positions (which fields are different) to graphically show in a tree like thing. What I do currently is like as follows.
    1. Traverse both objects deep inside to primitive types, including collection, collection in collections, objects, etc and put them in separate hash maps.
    2. These hash maps contain, key -> path from the root to primitive field and value -> the primitive value of the field.
    3. Finally take these two hashmaps, take one's key and try to see whether the other map contains the key. I it doesn't the field is a new one. If it has, then check its value for equality. Then I know the path where differences occur and then later, in any representation, I will know which field to be marked as different.
But the problem I face with this structure is that, When I traverse into a collection object, it doesn't have a name for its items. So I get a problem of how to get the key (actually path). If this problem can be solved, my comparison is completed.
If anyone knows a tool that does the same thing, let me know so that I can analyse how they do so. Or give me a help on what to do with my structure of comparison. I can't call objects equals method as my other packages have modified this equals method. So I have to get each and every declared field value and see whether the given two objects are of the same with their declared values and fields.

  • Indesign File comparison tool

Hello, is there any tool available for indesign files that makes a precise comparison between two indesign documents?  I need this for making sure of corrections made in documents i have.  Idealy it would work as a search function and enable the comparison of two different documents and highight any changes made between the two.  Thanks very much--c

Doesn't this approach only focus on errors?
I am not familiar with Preflight, but when I run it I only get errors.
I struggle with the same comparison issue. I need highly detailed comparisons.
When I try this in Acrobat Pro comparing the PDF outputs of two different InDesign files, it pretty much marks the entire document as changed.
I end up using a 3rd party tool (Araxis Merge) and doing a binary file comparison, then trying to figure out where in the INDD file the changes are.
    Cheers.
