yes, all three steps, more than once. (problem started on old computer. continues on new. Lots of HD space. vaults fail to update on various HDs. I just tried a new tack- turned off photostream and FB updates. I'll restart and try again.
During the year, did usual upgrades. Started using scanning software, adobe acrobat, Hazel, Alfred this year. Citrix to call into work network. Cloud storage with Microsoft, iCloud, Snapsugar. Who knows what might have done this!

Can I put an aperture library on a network drive and edit from multiple computers?

I have an Imac desktop and a macbook pro. I want to be able to edit pictures from multiple computers. If I simply put the aperture library on a network server drive in my home, can I edit the same aperture library from both the Imac and the macbook? Rather than always having to sit in my office making changes to files I would love to also be able to do this with my laptop sitting ont the couch or in the kitchen. Get yourself a small portable external drive for your Aperture library.
An Aperture library needs to be on directly connected drive formatted MacOS Extended (Journaled). network access is not supported and can lead to data loss and library corruption.

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
If you have a PPC Mac you cannot sync your idevice without a newer computer. See the end of this post for options.
If it says you have an Intel Mac you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first:

Options if you cannot upgrade: iTunes Store purchases can already be downloaded directly. Use iTunes Match to put non-Store music in iCloud, then download to your device from there. What do you mean by 'frozen' ? Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to work ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I am using log4net library to create log files.
My requirement is roll to a new log file with name appended with timestamp only when file size exceeds max size (file name ex: log_2014_12_11_12:34:45 etc).
My config is as follow

Issue is date time is not appending to file name.
But if i set "Rolling style" as "Date or composite", file name gets appended with timestamp, but new file gets created before reaching max file size.(Because file gets created whenever date time changes, which i dont want) .
Please help me in solving this issue?

Max size iphoto library

Hi, is there a maximum size for an iPhoto library file? Mine is 150 GB at the moment and I wonder if I can keep feeding it :-)

Well my configuration is 21.5 inch late 2012 iMac with 2.7 GHz Intel core i5, 8gb of ddr3 1600 Mhz memory, Nvidia Geforce GT 640M 512 MB Graphic and 1 tb of harddrive, still i have 500 gb of free space on my hdd, but still the iphoto is working slowly, i dont know the reason. Another thing i thought is that the meta data produce by iphoto for the keyword,faces and other stuff would probably in billions , and to handle such very small tiny files is a big overhead , and the reason why its slowing the iphoto.
Any Suggestion from your side Terence?

Is it possible to Aperture Library by copying over the Contents?

My new Drobo 5D is having issues, and i'm not able to copy the Aperture File Directly over directly as its 530GB and the hard drive keeps failing in the last 30GB or so.
so I was wondering is it possible to copy over the contents bit by bit by using the show contents folder and then somehow recreating the Aperture file from the folder of Contents copied over?
Otherwise, is there any other solution?

Read all this before doing anything.
You select the library in the Finder and right click it and do Show Package Contents. That will revel the inside of the library You would then copy the files/folders out to the other drive MAKING SURE you copy them so that they are in the same relation to each other as they are in the original.
On the destination drive create a new empty Aperture library. You'll probably have the easiest time of it if you have two finder windows open, one on the original library and on on the destination. Revel Package contents on both libraries and then copy from the source to the destination replacing the items in the destination library with items from the source. Make sure you go from source (old) to destination (new). It sounds silly to emphasis this but once you start copying it will be easy to get disoriented and go in the wrong direction. Do something to make sure the source Finder window stands out from the destination Finder window.
I wouldn't worry about copying the previews or thumbnails those will be recreated when Aperture opens the new library BUT don't do anything with the Dobro or previews until you are sure the new library opens. In a worst case scenario you could retrieve the previews and still salvage something from your library.
Of course the possibility exists that you will hit the file(s) that are causing the error that is keeping you from doing this in a normal fashion. If so mark the file(s) that are having problems (color label will work well) and continue with the rest of the library. It is possible that the file(s) that won't copy are not of major importance to Aperture and the new library will open anyway. If not then there may be some other way to work around it. By labeling the files you'll at least know what didn;t copy.
That should do it if you're unsure of anything post back before starting.

This file is having difficulty while either reading from the drive or writing to the drive. The file
may have been improperly written data to the drive or the hard drive or disk may be damaged.
This is almost always indicative of a media error (hard error on the disk). Sometimes (rarely) it is transient.
Solutions: Try copying the file to another drive. Use a disk recovery software, such as Disk First Aid to examine the disk. You can try rebooting with all extensions off. Once in a while this will allow you to read the data. The file in question should be restored from a backup that was stored on a different disk. Regular backups can reduce the time to recover from this error.

Is there an easy way to switch mini dvi between monitor and tv?

I would like to be able to connect my mini's dvi output to a either a monitor or my tv. I am not trying to get a display on both simultaneously. With a DVI to DVI cable between mini and monitor and a dvi to hdmi cable between mini and tv I think that I can swap dvi connections at the mini, but that looks like a pain. Is there an easier way to do this?
I am about to order the dvi to hdmi cable. Is the mac mini's dvi port hot plugable or do I need to put the mini to sleep or shut down? Thanks,

Without some extra hardware, you can't. The mini, like all Macs, looks for data from the display to determine what settings it makes available to the user, so with two displays connected and feeding their available configurations, the mini will get very confused! Even if the two displays have one or more common settings that will actually work, each time the mini boots or wakes and detects the display, one or other (or both) are likely to go blank.
There are adaptors you might consider, such as those from Gefen, but they are not inexpensive. Have a look at http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproductlisting.jsp?listingCategory=Switchers&productTy pe=dvi for a list of available switching options, though beware that for the most part, the need being met is for TWO sources and ONE display, not your ONE source and TWO displays.

HP Mini 210-2090NR malware and fatal error after update

Hi,
I have an HP Mini 210-2090NR with Win 7 starter. I had malware that kept trying to contact websites like adclick, etc. It tried an auto update and then got a one line "fatal error". Now it will boot to the quickweb but not the OS. I tapped ESC until I got a menu and tried F11 but the screen just goes completely blank. Is the recovery partition toast or is there another way to access it?

The error message- Replace hard Disk 1 is a clear indication that your hard drive has gone faulty on the Notebook and needs to be replaced.
I would strongly recommend you to back up your files if its possible and apart from replacing the hard drive with a new one, there is no other option to fix this issue on the Notebook

Hello, my ipad mini is not charging what so ever and it is literally 0%. Once I put it on my wall charger, it still won't charge. I tried rebooting it, by pressing the home and sleep button for 15 second. I tried to change the wall outlet, AC Charger Adapter with USB for the Apple ipad mini and nothing would not work. This happened more than a billion times, and i had to wait more than 18 hours just to reach 1% before.
My Imessage doesn't work either, each time I send a message it won't send.

New Mini w/Intel - Safari and iChat won't run

We have a brand new machine with OSX 10.4.5
iChat won't launch at all, just goes right to report window.
Safari launches but crashes after a few minutes. Goes to report window.
Hard to believe Apple software not working on this.

I would suggest you create a new user in your Accounts preference pane. call the user test if you like.
Login as that user adn see if ichat runs and safari runs ok.
If that is the case then its a bad preference in your own user account.
Post back here what happens please.

How much available storage do you have on your iPad (assuming that that is where you are trying to download it) : Settings > General > About > Available ? If the film is in HD format then it could be quite large e.g. The Life Of Pi is 5.52 gig in HD, 2.16 in SD
