Is there a Maximum file size limit when combining pdf files

I am trying to combine files 8 PDF files created with i Explore using Acrobat XI Standard, the process is completed but when opening the file not all 8 individual files have been combined only the first two have been combined, the process shows all eight being read and combined.
I can open and view each of the original 8 individual files and read the content without any issue, the largest of the eight files is 15,559kb and the smallest is 9,435kb
if anyone can assist that would be most appreciated

This should not have happened as there is no maximum file size limit when combining PDFs.
Please let me know if there are some password protected PDFs also?
Also, I would suggest you to choose 'Repair Acrobat Installation' option from the Help menu.

I doubt there is a hard limit, but you may hit problems with particularly big files.
But I am concerned about the word "scan" here. Are these files not even PDF files yet? If so, no solution for going paper -> Word is likely to be improved by sticking "PDF" in the middle to get paper -> PDF -> Word. Involving PDF in the middle of any conversion process is more likely to be a mistake than not.

File size limit of 2gb on File Storage from Linux mount

Hi!
I setup a storage account and used the File Storage (preview). I have followed instructions at

I created a CentOS 7 virtual server and mounted the system as
mount -t cifs //MYSTORAGE.file.core.windows.net/MYSHARE /mnt/MYMOUNTPOINT -o vers=2.1,username=MYUSER,password=MYPASS,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777
The problem is that I have a file size limit of 2gb on that mount. Not on other disks.
What am I doing wrong?

Save as pdf deleted bookmarks when combining pdf-files

Hello,
when I save several books each to a pdf-file with save as pdf (or printing to .ps and converting afterwards), the bookmarks are deleted when I combine the pdf-files with Acrobat. Only one bookmark for the 1st. file exists in the new pdf-file.
The reference of the bookmarks in the original generated file is e.g. "g3.619626".
These references are not anymore available in the combined files.
I've tried several settings before saving as pdf but nothing helped.
Ther are no problems of combining ordinary pdf-files with bookmarks if they are generated by other programs then Framemaker.
I need to combine files as well within a book, as "save to pdf" is not able, to generate one file with different pages sizes. I then need to generate a separate pdf-file of the pages with the for e.g. bigger page size and combine it afterwards.
In that project I'm working there will over all something between 1000 and 1500 pages from maybe 10 books with hunderts of bookmarks plus additionally separete pfd files to combine. So it's not an option to treat every bookmark before combining the pdf-files.
My system is FM11.02.384 / Acrobat Pro 11.0.3 / Windows 7 64 Bit

Never having had a need to do it, and Adobe documentation for Acrobat being what it is, I can't tell if AcroPro is supposed to be able to merge bookmarks when merging PDFs. It would be an unsurprising feature, and you do say it works on PDFs generated by means other than FM.
Here's a hack that might work, if the variable-page-size rendering turns out to be out of reach. You can batch* this.
Open each component PDF and re-save it with some otherwise harmless optimization (or even none). This will probably cause AcroPro to re-write the internal structures of each PDF, which might then be amenable to merged bookmarks when you re-open them for merging.
* We do a similar thing for a slightly different problem. We have a software-in-a-box XML publishing app that, at just some seats, is generating PDFs that are tagged for byte serving (fast web view), but are not in fact encoded for it. This causes AcroReader plugin and entire browser crashes for web end users. The s/w vendor can't even tell us where the option is for controlling that feature, because they get the PDF gen code from some other 3rd party. So we routinely batch process all generated PDFs, with, oddly enough, NO "commands" selected. The re-save alone fixes it.

Is there a file size limit when using Read From Spreadsheet File?

I'm trying to read in a large file, about 52mb, 525600 lines with 27 fileds in each line using "Read From SpreadsheetFile.vi". I then search the 2D array for -999, which represents bad/no data in that field and total the number of fields with -999 in it. This all works on 3 months worth of data. The program is giving me an out of memory error and stopping in the case where the read takes place on the large one year file. So my question is does the Read from Spreadsheet file have size limitations? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the help. I recreated the VI you posted and unfortunately it doesnt work. It looks like the index array vi is only looking at the zero index and not the other 26 fields in each row. This would probably require a FOR LOOP to go through each field index. This is what I have and it works on a smaller version of the file. For some reason LV is using up bucket loads of memory to run this smaller file and crashes running the 60MB file. I've attached one of my vi's to solve this problem and the smaller data set. You'll see in the beginning that I trim some columns and rows to leave just the data I want to scan. Thanks again for the help.
I just tried send 3 months worth of one minute data and it failed. So here is a really small version, 20 minutes worth of data. Does anyone see anything that would cause memory usage issues here?

Upload File size limit when applying HTTPs on NES 4.0 SP1

I try to upload a file throgh a servlet,it works fine under HTTP,but when I apply Https protocol on my web application.The configuration is as fllowing:
APP Server:WebLogic 5.1 SP 9
Web Server:Netscape Enterprise Server 4.0 Sp1
I found if the uploaded file size exceede 50K,the web server will encounter error and error message is as following:
Unexpected Exception recieving data-5938
I try to locate the problem,someone told me that the problem reside in Weblogic 5.1 plugin configuration,you should add somting in your obj.conf,but he neither figure out what the problem is.Anyone Help!!

why not first try to upgrade to new versions of web server like 6.1 ? i don't think, sun officially supports 4.0 or 4.1 any more (at least 6 years old, if nore more )
by upgrading , u will also get new security and better manageablitliy features as well.

When Combining PDF files in Windows Explorer (Right Clicking ...)

... is there a way to set Acrobat so it always default saves the combined file in the same folder as the files being combined are located? It always defaults to a previous location, and I have always have to navigate to the folder I want. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

100 MB is indeed the file size limit for uploading files to cloud.acrobat.com. Have you tried optimizing the PDF files in Acrobat to reduce their file size?

TFS Preview source control file size limit

Is there a file size limit for adding large files to a TFS Preview project's source control..? I would like to add some files to source control that are in the 20-30Mb range and the requests keep aborting.

I test the issue by adding .zip file to TFS Azure version comtrol, the size include 10MB, 20MB, 100MB, 2GB, i can add they to version control properly without any problem.
In order narrow down the issue, here are some situations i want to clarify from you:
1. What's the error message when TFS azure block the check-in process? Could you share a screen shot?
2. Which client tool are you using? VS10 or VS11? Or other tools?
3. Try to reproduce this in different network environment and see what will happen.
4. Capture a fiddler trace which can help to check the issue.

That choice is not made by Adobe, but your browser, of which you give no details. 64-bit browsers cannot open PDF files, as the Adobe Reader plugin is a 32-bit app.

How to maintain signatures when combining PDFs

Dear Forum,
I have an issue when combining PDF files, where the original files with electronic signature field added in Acrobat Pro, the signatures disappear. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I've checked the security setting and currently have everything in the summary settings as allowed, but still the signatures won't carry through into the combined PDF.
Anyone have any solutions?

You absolutely can't combine signed files without destroying the signatures, because signatures apply to the WHOLE file, always. Consider using a portfolio instead.

Is there a page size limit when exporting a pdf from InDesign?

My indd file is 201x40 inches with a 1.5 inch slug. When I export to pdf I get this message, "The document page size exceeds the page size range supported in PDF files. Exported pages will be resized to fit within PDF limits."

Although the PDF spec mentions that it's feasible to create a PDF as large as 15,000,000 inches in either direction, 200 x 200 inches is Distiller’s limit for PostScript. It’s based on the Windows printer driver limitation.
If I read the quote below correctly, the maximum page size is 15 million inches (381 km).
"This is from the PDF Reference 1.6:
177. In PDF versions earlier than PDF 1.6, the size of the default user space unit is fixed at 172 inch. In Acrobat viewers earlier than version 4.0, the minimum allowed page size is 72 by 72 units in default user space (1 by 1 inch); the maximum is 3240 by 3240 units (45 by 45 inches). In Acrobat versions 5.0 and later, the minimum allowed page size is 3 by 3 units (approximately 0.04 by 0.04 inch); the maximum is 14,400 by 14,400 units (200 by 200 inches).
Beginning with PDF 1.6, the size of the default user space unit may be set with the UserUnit entry of the page dictionary. Acrobat 7.0 supports a maximum UserUnit value of 75,000, which gives a maximum page dimension of 15,000,000 inches (14,400 * 75,000 * 172). The minimum UserUnit value is 1.0 (the default)."

Is there a size limit when importing videos?

Is there a size limit when importing videos into iTunes (8)? I have a 4+ gig video file I'm trying to import, but when I drag/drop it into the movies, nothing happens. It works fine with smaller files.
