Is there a passthrough in IWA for Oracle Access Manager?

In case of Form-based Authentication, the form (by default) consumes the credentials after AuthN instead of POSTing it forward. This behaviour can be overridden by setting passthrough:yes as a Challenge Parameter in the Form AuthN Scheme.
I am looking for a similar behaviour in Integrated Windows AuthN, where post-IWA, my application can receive the credentials for further processing. Is there a setting in Netpoint/IIS/Windows through which I can do a passthrough after IWA?
Any tips would help.
Thanks,
Prashant.

Oracle SQL Developer is a free tool that might be of interest for developers. You can find and download it off OTN.
Oracle Enterprise Manager, EM, is the closest thing to SSMS in Oracle along with its relatives DB Console and Grid Control, but these are DBA tools.

  • Error while configuring IWA in Oracle Access Manager

This is the error that I get:
"The credentials (REMOTE_USER=MyUser Resource=/edm/ RequesterIP=172.25.164.82 Operation=GET) used in the login do not correspond to a user profile in the Identity System."
I definitely have this user in AD as well as Netscape DS. My OAM configuration points to Netscape Directory. While the IWA login happens successfully, the WebGate is not able to identify this user in Netscape. What could be the possible reasons for this error?
    Kindly let me know.
    Thanks,
    Prashant.

Thanks Boland. That solved the problem. I was using samaccountname from AD, instead of uid from Netscape.

  • IWA with Oracle Access Manager.

    Hi All,
Configured IWA as per document and I made sure that each step is perfectly followed. However IWA is not working. When I access the site, it is displaying IIS Basic authentication window and after entering credentials it is giving the page. But this is not we are expecting. When we access the site , it should give the page without authenticaiton since user has been already authenticated to window domain by logging into domain machine.
    Please help me
    Thanks

Did you add your site to "Local Intranet" sites in your IE browser ? If not, add it and verify the issue.
To add your site to local intranet, do below.
    - Open IE
    - Tool -> Internet Options -> Security tab - > Local Intranet -> Sites -> Add your site.
    - Save and close the browser.
    Now verify the issue

  • Oracle Access Manager 10gR3 (10.1.4.x) end of life

    Hello,
    I'm looking at http://www.oracle.com/support/library/brochure/lifetime-support-middleware.pdf
It says premier support for Oracle Access Manager ends Dec 2012.
If we are planning to start with a 11r2 middleware deployment, are we still deploying Oracle Access Manager 10gR3 (10.1.4.3)?? I'm trying to make sure there is nothing more recent to use.
    Thanks for the help

    Hi,
Oracle Access Manager 10.1.4.3.0 is a part of 11g R1 release So, you should be fine with OAM 10.1.4.3.0.
    OAM 10G R3 consists of OAM 10.1.4.0.1 (and 10.1.4.2.0).

  • Oracle Access Manager - Identity Injectors

    Hello,
One of my customer has a critical requirement for Oracle Access Manager.
At present they are using Novell Access Manager
With Novell Access Manager they are able to create custom headers with information pulled from LDAP.
    such as x-employeeName=Jason
    Example :
Some Web applications require more than a name and a value to be injected into the custom header.
Sometimes they require a custom name, a tag, and a value. Sometimes the application requires a
custom name with multiple tags and values. The Inject into Custom Header with Tags option
provides you with the flexibility to add such values to the custom header. For example, your
application could be expecting the following custom header with tag:
    X-Custom_Role Role=Manager
You can inject this information by setting the Custom Header Name to X-Custom, the Tag Name to
Role, and the Tag Value to Manager. The value can be set as a static variable or you can retrieve it
from various sources such as a Liberty User Profile attribute or the roles assigned to the current user.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi
    Thanks for your reply.
Can you explain me in steps how it can be achieved in OAM 11g?
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi There,
Is there any Viewlet or PPT for Oracle Implemantation on metalink.
If it is there Please Give me the link.
    Bachan.

Even if you find such a document, I believe it will not be enough to cover the implementation steps.
The best source of information is Oracle Documentation in addition to Metalink course of course:

  • Certified operating system for Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.0.1)

    Hello,
I have a question regarding the certified operating system for Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.0.1)
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/idm_certification_101401.html
    - for an Intel EM64T 64 bit machine
for the application server database it is stated that we need
    Windows 2003 R1 (64 bit OS)
and the application server platform is certified with
Windows 2003 R1 with SP1 or higher (64 bit OS)
an installation of application server platform + database on a single Intel EM64T with Windows 2003 R1 with SP1 is not certified ? or with other words, if I add Sp1 to 2003 than the application server database is not on a certified platform ?
    thanks

    Hi Florin
My guess is that you are looking at the Oracle Identity Federation certification section in the link for the IDM certification.
The IDM certification for windows is in par. 2.3
For a 64 bits machine it specifies that you need Windows 2003 R2 to run it. And it is only certified for an Oracle database version 9.0.3.1. The footnote says:
    Oracle Database includes Oracle 9i 9.2.0.8, Oracle 10g 10.1.0.5, Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1, and Oracle 10g 10.2.0.2
so I would go for the latest Oracle database version 10g 10.2.0.2. However the link with the Oracle database versions only notes an Oracle database version 10.2.0.1 available for Windows 64 bit. A quick lookup under the certifify tab in metalink shows that Oracle 10g R2 is certified for Windows 2003 10g R2 and that there is a 10.2.0.2 patch set that can be applied upon the Oracle database 10.2.0.1 base release. Don't forget to apply the latest CPU after this is done.
I have this from the documentation links you added in your question. I have not installed IDM 10.1.4 on Windows 64 bit myself.
    Cheers

  • New: TimesTen Plug-in release 12.1.0.3.0 for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c

Last Friday, Oracle released version 12.1.0.3.0 of the TimesTen Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Cloud Control. This is a landmark release with many new features for database administrators. Besides database performance and availability monitoring; the new plug-in offers administrators the ability to manage and administer their TimesTen instances and databases, such as starting and stopping TimesTen services, loading and unloading databases to and from memory, and scheduling backups and restoring databases. Additionally, users can monitor database and replication activities, memory and disk usages, workload performance statistics, and identify longest running and most executed SQL statements. International users will be pleased to know that the new plug-in was globalized with its user interface translated to nine different languages, the same languages as available in Oracle Enterprise Manager. The Enterprise Manager for TimesTen 12.1.0.3.0 plug-in is downloadable through Enterprise Manager Self-Update.
For more information, visit the TimesTen product center on OTN.

The issue seems to be from DB side and an SR would help you in resolving the issue.
However, added below few points you can look as well from your side.
+ DB may be core dumping in which case it would be required to resolve the core dump issue.
+ Running ASH report from sqlplus may not be working in which we need to resolve the DB side issue.
+ If feasible you can choose to upgrade DB to higher version.
    Regards,
    Bip

  • Oracle Access manager 10.1.4 (coreid) multiple authentication for same URL

I am evaluating oracle access manager hence new to this product.
    I have a requirement where i have a /wps URL.
Users coming externally go through reverse proxy server to the final IIS web server. Internal user access IIS directly.
/wps should be protected by reverse proxy using forms authentication
while IIS server also protect /wps but should use basic authentication.
Looks like policy is shared by all webgates so i can define one authentication method for /wps.
Comparing this with CA Siteminder each agent have their own URLs to protect and so two agents can protect the same URL but with different authentication method. The single signon works as the protection level is same.

I have not done what you are speaking of; so I would assume that Boland is correct. One thing that you may want to consider is making the external users log into another resource before they hit the /wps. If the other resource is forms protected and at the same authentication level (number on auth scheme), then they can hit the external login resource, get their OBSSO cookie, then slide right thru the basic authentication request of the current policy domain.
Another idea would be to get a little more granular with your current policy domain. Have a file that's protected with forms auth in your policy domain that the external users authenticate to. Remember, this could be as simple as a dummy page that just does an HTTP redirect.
    Good luck.
