Is there a pdf output file size limitation?

Hi,
I have an rtf invoice template that worked fine in test environments. Now that it has been migrated to Production, it works except for this one invoice that has created a meta data XML file that is 2 MB, which is not that large, is it? Additionally, I cannot open the metadata file in html, it just hangs, but can in a text editor, so I have been chopping up the file into smaller pieces and can get pdf output of around 175 pages worth.
I've tried it with different sets of data from this file, and they work, just not the whole file. Is there some setting required for this to work?

Thanks, but what sort of infrastructure are you referring to? There are 8500 rows of data for this invoice at three levels which is not large, but some fields are 240 characters long.
I'm not getting an Out of Memory type of error. In fact, I'm not getting any errors, just that there is no output. pdf-compression is set to true. What else could I check?

  • PDF/Attachment File Size Limitation

Question: Does anyone know of a specific upper limit on email attachment file sizes, or how to overcome them? I love that iPhone email supports viewing PDFs, and got some smaller ones to be delivered and display just fine, but when I tried to email a 10MB PDF to my iPhone it really caused a mess (first attempt locked up my iPhone and required a reset, second attempt the iPhone email client had trouble retrieving the whole PDF from the POP server). I finally gave up.
Note to Apple (hope you're watching...): Please support large email attachments, especially PDF. FYI: the 10MB PDF I was trying to push to the iPhone was in fact the iPhone User's Guide that I downloaded from the Apple web site -- too bad this "bug" prevents an iPhone user from having the iPhone User Guide on the iPhone itself, huh? Also, please consider adding password support for locked email attachments (like password-protected PDFs).

  • Lotus Notes - Create .pdf and file size limits

Is there a way to increase the 100MB file size limit in Lotus Notes create .pdf option?

    Good day Lisa,
Are you using Adobe Acrobat to create your PDF files or are you looking to use our CreatePDF service?  If you're trying to use the CreatePDF service, I'm sorry, but we can't change the 100MB file size limit.
    Kind regards,

  • Is there a file size limitation to using this service?

I am working on a large PDF file (26 mb) and I need to re-size the original and mess with the margins. I don't beleive there is an easy way to do this in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro. It sounds like I have to convert the file back to a Word document, do the adjustments there and then produce a new PDF. I have two questions:
Is there a file size limitation to using this service?
Will a PDF to Word doc. conversion mantain the format of the orginal PDF?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Good day Tim,
There is a 100MB file size limitation for submitting files to the ExportPDF service.  As for the quality of the conversion, from our FAQ entitled Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and formatting information?:
Adobe ExportPDF is capable of exporting high quality information, but the quality of your Word or Excel document depends on the quality of the PDF file you start with. For instance, if your PDF file was originally authored in Microsoft Word or Excel and converted to PDF using the PDFMaker functionality of Adobe Acrobat®, your PDF file contains a rich set of information that can be captured by Adobe ExportPDF. This includes relative positioning of tables, images, and even multi-column text, as well as page, paragraph, and font attributes.
If your PDF file was originally authored using simpler PDF generation methods, such as “print to PDF” or “scan to PDF” options, Adobe ExportPDF will convert any recognizable text and then use sophisticated conversion intelligence to preserve as much of the page layout as possible.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
    Kind regards,
    David

  • PDF file size limited to graphics memory in Reader?

I've created a form (in LiveCycleDS) that allows for an unlimited number of photos to be loaded into it. I put an image into a subform that is duplicated every time a user clicks a button thus creating an unlimited number of images that can hold photos. I then extended it with Reader Extensions.
I'm running into a problem when I try to load a large number of photos into the form.  It gets to about 47MB of images when it locks-up Adobe reader.  I've been able to bring up other applications after the lock-up and when I switch back to Reader the artifacts of the other application are then displayed within Reader.
What is the practical limit to the size of a file created with LiveCycle?  Is it tied to the amount of graphics memory a computer has?  My machine has 2GB of RAM while my video card has only 384MB.  I haven't been able to figure out if there is a file size limitation.

It's entirely normal for file size to increase. PDFs are much more compressed than print streams. For some printers the print size is almost constant (a huge bitmap), for others, it's a collection of graphical items and the size varies enormously. Rarely anything you can do.

  • Web.Show_Document - Is there a file size limitation?

It appears that Web.Show_Document has a problem displaying large .pdfs.
Example: A .pdf size of *2505 KB* would not display, however I compressed the .pdf to *1172 KB* and the report displayed using web.show_document successfully.
I am displaying the .pdf in an Oracle forms using web.show_document. The user presses a button (View Report) and it displays the report. Except, now it is not displaying reports close to 2000 KB in size.
    The error says **"Exhausted Resultset"**
Is there a file size limitation with web.show_document?
    Environment Background:
Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.1.0 (Production)
    Oracle Toolkit Version 9.0.4.1.0 (Production)
    PL/SQL Version 9.0.1.5.1 (Production)
    Report Builder 9.0.4.1.0
    ORACLE Server Release 9.0.1.5.1
Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

As already mentioned, WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT has nothing to do with file size. This command simply sends a url to the system's default browser. There is no Oracle magic here.
To the problem, you said:...The error says **"Exhausted Resultset"**Where are you seeing this message?
    Is Forms generating this message?
    Is this a custom message?
Is this the complete message text?
    Is there an error number?
This does not appear to be a Forms generated error message.
I would suggest your store a large file in the same location as where your reports are located. The file should be of the same format (i.e. pdf). Open a browser and manually enter the necessary url to retrieve the content. I suspect the same problem would reproduce IF you believe the problem only occurs when the form calls WEB.SHOW. If it does reproduce then you have at least simplified the problem to a client browser requesting a document from a server.

  • Does publishing as PDF increase file size? Is there a way to manage this?

I am looking for any ways to reduce file size of presentations. We have to publish as PDF for single file purposes. I know you can change settings in Presenter publishing, but does publishing as PDF have any affect on file size and if so, are there ways to reduce file size?

My Mac has 4 mail accounts coming into it, but you are correct, one of them is a POP account, (and unfortunately it is the main @ account, and is the one associated with my apple id, since we've had it for years).  I couldn't figure out how to replace this with the Imap version, short of deleting that account entirely.
Is this what I have to do?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 file size limits?

Hi a friend needs to create a 37hr uncompressed AVI file (by combining an avi of pictures and mp3 of audio of a performance) and is wondering if it can be done using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014, ie are there any file size limits? Any comments much appreciated.

Would be interesting to know how you are going to store that. 37 hours of HD uncompressed in an AVI wrapper requires around 24 TB of free disk space on a single volume. That means you would need  something like 12 x 3 TB drives in Raid6 + 1 HS, requiring at least a 16 port raid controller for those 13 disks, just for the output file. Due to fill rate degradation, that is cutting it thin. Additionally at least a X79 or X99 motherboard with 2011 socket is necessary.
Next question is, who would be crazy enough to marathon-watch 37 hours of a performance?
You may consider another workflow, not uncompressed and not 37 hours.

  • PDF reduce file size filters and CMYK to RGB conversion

This doesn't seem to be on-topic to this forum, but I'm hoping someone here has the expertise to answer my question. We have some scripts which take a series of press-quality pdfs and use the "reduce file size" filter to prepare them for viewing on the web. We run these scripts on a 10.4 machine, and the filter works very well, reliably reducing file sizes of all sorts of pages.
When we tried to upgrade the machine, we discovered that the quartz filtering has changed in 10.5 and 10.6. While it's usually an improvement, getting maybe 5-10% better compression ratios, it has become unreliable in that about 5% of my files fail spectacularly -- they blow up to 3, 4, 5, 6 times the original size.
The other thing that happens is that the 10.5/10.6 filters munge the colors up. I found the solution to this -- in the ColorSynchUtility, make a duplicate of the Reduce File Size filter, and add a Color Management Component called Convert To Profile. This allows me to set a filter that converts the CMYK content to RGB. The problem is that there are about 40 choices of profiles, and it's not at all clear what I should use. Many of them have printer manufacturer's names in them, some say "Adobe", others have cryptic codes (probably referring to various RFCs and schemes). I've tried a couple of the ones that don't look like they are for printers, basically chosen at random. They all produce files of slightly different sizes for the reductions that go well, but on the files that blow up, some filters are better than others. (For example, I have a 5MB page which reduces to 1.4MB with the 10.4 filter, but blows up to 27MB with the "sRGB IE61966-2.1" profile, but only 12MB with the "Adobe RGB" profile.)
    So I have 2 questions:
    1) Is there any way to configure a 10.5/10.6 custom profile so that it behaves as reliably as the 10.4 "stock" PDF Reduce File Size works? It doesn't have to be the most wonderful compression algorithm out there, just so that it never or rarely has a file blow up in size.
    2) For converting press documents to pdfs that are going to go on the web, what is a good "Convert to profile" to use of the 40-some choices on the pull-down menu?

    Cathy,
You have posted your question in a forum dedicated to the Final Cut Studio application Color. It is a very specialized program to grade (adjust) the color in video/film images. We know nothing regarding PDFs.
Have you tried posting this on an Adobe support site?
    Good luck,
    x

  • I am not able to modify the text in pdf output file using pdf editor

    Hi,
We have upgrade the xml 5.6.1 in server level. After upgrading this, we are not able to modify the pdf output file. Previously we used to modify text and delete text in pdf file which is generated by oracle Application. As of now we cann't upgrade higher version. Can you suggest what to do?.

Check the xdo configuration file option in the user guides. There should be options that allow / disallow modifying text specifically. If you are in EBS, you should be able to change the configuration file options from the XML Publisher Administrator UI.

  • Excel file trucation in PDF output file

Having problem with PDF output file as the imported EXCEL table gets truncated - approx. the left 1/2 upper left corner is the only part of the table that appears in the PDF file.  Master file displays correctly in PM. No apparent memory issue so any thoughts? Thanks.

    A bit more info please.
Windows or Mac, and which versions?
    Which version of PM?
How did you import the speadsheet into PM?
How did you create the PDF?
Cropping and displacement of meta-files when creating PDFs from PM is well known and there are work-arounds.
The long term answer is move on to InDesign.

  • File size limitation to import into imove

I can't import a movie into imove that is 999 mb. Does this application have a file size limitation. The file is saved as a *.m4v. Thanks for your help using imovie 09.

EyeTV should have an iMovie 09 Preset. That should make sure there are no extra tracks included.
Another way to get files out of EyeTV3...
Get MPEG Streamclip, which is free.
IN EyeTV 3, right click on the recording, and Reveal in Finder
Right click on the .eyeTV file in the finder and SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS
Drag the .mpg file into MPEG Streamclip.
FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME from MPEG Streamclip, choosing Apple Intermediate Codec.
Import this AIC file, which will be in a .mov container, into iMovie.
Note: You may need the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component for this to work. MPEG Streamclip will tell you if you do. It costs $20 from Apple.

  • 4gb file size limitation using java.io.* package in java stored procedure

Does anyone know about file size limitations when using java.io.* package inside java stored procedures. I have some java stored procedures that read and write to files. They error out when run as a java stored procedure within oracle on files over 4gb. I have no problems with these procedures when I test them outside of oracle.

I am using 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0, the java version returned by the Oracle JVM is 1.4.2_04
When I tested it outside of oracle I ran it using the java run time in ORACLE_HOME\jdk\bin and it works perfectly on files larger than 4gb.
Thank you for the UTL_FILE suggestion. I have considered using that but there is one method in Java that I can't seem to find a corresponding procedure for in PL/SQL.
    RandomAccessFile.setLength()
This allows me to truncate a file. I have a need to strip bytes off the end of a file without creating a copy because I am working with large files and disk space may be limited. It is also much slower to read from the original file and writing the same bytes to a new file (minus the trailing bytes).
If anybody has any insight about the 4gb java.io limitation in Oracle JVM or has a workaround in PL/SQL for the RandomAccessFile.setLength() method in Java, I would really appreciate the help.
    Thanks,
    Thach

  • ICloud File Size Limitation

I recently updated my iCloud storage to 1 TB in anticipation of making better use of it once the new Yosemite OS was released.
My first impressions of iCloud drive are not good.
The free space on the drive is the same as the free space on my local computer hard drive.  It is working like Dropbox but there is no way to do a selective sync.
I wanted to back up my iPhoto library from external drive to the Cloud and it said I didn't have enough room. My file is 166 Gig so in order to back it up I would need equivalent free space on my local drive.  Not Good.
Then when I disabled icloud Drive on my Mac and tried to upload to the drive through the web I ran into the 15 gig max file size limit.
So, after spending all this money for extra 1 TB storage it looks like I can't even use it to back up my iPhoto library or my iTunes library.
    Not impressed :-(.
I hope that Apple has plans to remove the file size limitation very soon.
If I have a 1TB cloud account I would like to use it like any other external hard drive without limitations on file size and I am hoping that Apple won't throttle the maximum number of files uploaded per day or per hour as other cloud services do.
When I updated my storage to 1 TB a few months ago there was no indication that these limitations existed.  If they did I wouldn't have upgraded.

So my frustration is that I am paying $20 a month for the larger storage and can't use it to back up my files.
That storage is entirely separate than the iCloud Drive.  The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
    Here’s what iCloud backs up:
