Is there a plug-in that tracks how much time you've spent in specific files?

I want an easy way to track how much time I've spent on certain projects. I really just need a plug-in that tracks how long files have been open. I'm having trouble searching for one like that; does anyone know if this exists as a plug-in or even as a function of Photoshop (or Illustrator)? This would be very helpful for freelancers. Thanks.

  • When it says your capacity is 6.43 GB does that mean how much memory you have used up or how much you have left

when it says your capacity is 6.43 GB does that mean how much memory you have used up or how much you have left

The 6.43 GB is how much storage that is available to you to use. The difference between 6.43 ansd 8 GB is taken up by the iOS.
The Available entry show how much is unused.

It depends: Not enough. Or too much. ;-)
Personally I'd say I spend about an hour (spread over the day) reading postings, maybe a bit more if I develop a small PL/SQL / SQL solution for a problem that presents a nice challenge. "SQL and PL/SQL" is my preferred topic, followed by "OracleXE". I like the "Database General" part, although I'm not contributing that much there - I'm simply a developer, DBA jobs are not my daily bread, aside from my OracleXE instance which drives my blog. Learning something new from others, day by day, is what keeps me coming back to this place.
@sp009: Does your supervisor know that you're "here"? Personally I wouldn't want to work for someone who doesn't want me to improve upon my skills by using communities such as this one.

  • There is a screen that shows how much energy is being used by an application..where do I find that screen

There is a screen that opens on a monitor that shows how much energy is being used by an application.   Any body can tell me how do I find it.. ?
My lap is blowing the fan continuously and I know its because a lot of energy is used by any of the applications.. I would like to be able to monitor that.

Well, this isn't notebook community for one. For another Top is quite good and can show you a lot or stick with Activity Monitor with its GUI.
You definitely want to install a utility to monitor temps, whether iStatPro or Temperature Monitor
    www.macupdate.com
Energy = watts but you don't mean measuring what you are using off the wall outlet, rather the fan speed and temperature sensors.
If you know you will be doing something to stress the system, FanControl can set profiles and instead of waiting to get hot, kick up the fan rpm to something more useful first. Works well.
You could have software that is not well behaved. Or that you installed years ago that is not compatible with what you have now. When last you installed the OS whether it was an upgrade in place or clean install (and used Setup Assistant to import apps).

  • Is there a way of checking how much time has been spent on an Adobe document?

I would like to know how much time is spent preparing or completing Adobe forms for time keeping purposes.  Is there any record of this in the individual document metadata, or anywhere?

    Hi mikeq,
I don't believe that's something that gets tracked in your Acrobat.com online account. There are  free time-tracking utilities, though. I did a quick Google search and found a number of them.

  • Is there a way to find out how many steps you walked on a specific day in the Apple Health App.  I don't want to know minute by minute.  But want to know if I can go back a week to a certain day.

LF way to see how many steps I walked on a certain day last week.  Not minute by minute, just recall the day's steps.  All I get is a graph and then all data when I tap a particular day,  which is far too detailed and useless.

here is a link to macosxhints.com that tells you how to output all of your feed URLs to a terminal window. from there you can cut and paste them into your new feed reader of choice...

and if you are in the marked for a new reader may i suggest David Watanabe's excellent NewsFire. he had just recently made it totally free as a gift to the macintosh community.
    best of luck.

  • Is there a way to find out how much time an Upgrade took with DBUA?

    Hello!
I've performed a successful upgrade from 10g to 11g using dbua. The thing is that I made that upgrade last friday, I know when it started but I can't manage to find any log that tells me when It was finished exactly. I tried to search in the ../cfgtoollogs/dbua/<SID>/upgrade1/ directory but the logs there wont say anything about it. If anybody knows a way to look at old jobs, other logs or something it would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Nock

    Hi TSharma,
In which path? $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/dbua/logs/ or $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/dbua/<SID>/upgrade1?
Here is the list of files for each one:
    $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/dbua/logs/ ls -l
    total 52
    -rw-r-----   1 oracle   oinstall      51 Dec 27 17:15 SkipWelcome

    -rw-r-----   1 oracle   oinstall     102 Dec 27 17:19 Welcome_NOVO.txt
    $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/dbua/<SID>/upgrade1 ls -l

    -rw-r-----   1 oracle   oinstall    4057 Dec 27 17:15 upgrade.xml
The last modified was that Oracle_Server.log file, but I left my sit after 18:00 and the upgrade was about 40%.

  • HT1975 How can I reset the gray location services icon that apears next to the app that used my location services in the past 24 hours? Or better yet is there a way to track how many times it's been doing it in the past 24 hours?

My boyfriend likes to check up on me by using find my iPhone app. Sometimes I feel he goes overboard and would like to know how often he is watching me. The gray icon is always there because he watches me every day, but if there is a way to reset it do that I can check it time after time and see if he watched me again since the last time I checked. Or is there a way or an app that tracks how many times a devise has been tracked? I don't want to change my password because I like knowing that if I get lost in the woods he would find me :)) I just want to know his often he is watching me.

Understood.  However, the point that I'm trying to make is that it's not the WiFi access point's security that's in question, it's having your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode that's in question.  It's simple: if your phone's WiFi is on, then it is both discoverable and hackable... even when it's not connected to a WiFi network or access point.  Here's an article about a drone in London that was created to hack smartphone WiFi signals (and hackers have been doing what this drone does for years):
    http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/20/technology/security/drone-phone/
The point is that it's not  secure to have your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode.  It would be better for privacy and security if Apple made WiFi location aware so that it is only enabled when you are at a trusted location (e.g. your home or office).  Or, at least give us the option of location aware WiFi so that each user can determine the best mode for their phone:
    (1) Always-On (current default - not secure and many privacy issues).
    (2) Trusted mode (only on at trusted locations).
    (3) Off.

  • MacBook Warranty - How much time is left

Is there some place where I can track how much time is left on my warranty? When I initially bought the Mac, I know I had 90 days telephone service and a warranty on the macbook itself for one year. I think I have some in store assistance as well. Where can I find this location and is there a place where I can see how much time is remaining on my warranty (I can't remember when I purchased my macbook). Thank you.

    Here ya go:

Just put your serial number in and it should answer your question.

  • Is there a Plug-In that automates sequential numbering of an independent text element?

Is there a Plug-In that will enable automated sequential numbering of a particular item of text, independent of any of the other InDesign cues? Have some very large instructional book documents that have a main numeric element that is sequential and independent from page numbering or anything else that REALLY NEEDS to be automated. If nothing exists off the shelf how much would it cost for someone to created this software for me?

  • Is there a plug-in that will allow me to view CR2 (raw) files from a Cannon 5D Mark III to PSE 9 ?

is there a plug-in that will allow me to view CR2 (raw) files from a Cannon 5D Mark III to PSE 9 ?

The 5D.3 was first supported in ACR 6.7 which you need PSE 10 to use, so there is no plug-in for PSE9 that will allow opening the files from a camera newer than when PSE9 became obsolete.
Besides getting PSE12, assuming it is supported on your current computer—check the specs, you can use the free DNG Converter available from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
to convert your CR2 files to DNG files that are compatible with older versions of ACR.  Be sure to set your DNGC compatibility settings to a version old enough to be openable with PSE 10’s ACR.
As far as whether the OP is serious, it doesn’t hurt to ask the question before spending money on something you didn’t need.

  • ElGamal - Is there some Java tutorial that shows how this can be done?

    Hello,
    I found this by doing a quick search on Google.com;
    http://www.java2s.com/Tutorial/Java/0490__Security/ElGamalexamplewithrandomkeygeneration.htm
However I was wondering whether there is Java Tutorial that shows how ElGamal can be implemented in a Java program. I am looking to develop a client / server application that share files between them and I would like to encrypt every file being transmitted.

  • Is there a way to find out how much data was used over the lifetime of my phone (cumulative cellular and wifi)?

Is there a way to find out how much data was used over the lifetime of my phone (cumulative cellular and wifi)?
    I was just curious

Given that the phone doesn't track how much data is used over WiFi, no. And cellular data usage can be reset.

  • I've just pre-ordered the album 'YES!' and there are 9 remaining songs. How much would these songs cost??

I've just pre-ordered the album 'YES!' and there are 9 remaining songs. How much would these songs cost??

    Jin,
Five tracks are already available, and the Store will immediately charge you $1.29 for each, coming to $6.45.
When the others come available, which will be July 15, you will be charged the remainder.  That will be the pre-order album price of $10.99 minus the $6.45 you're paying now, which comes to $4.54.
So the price is $10.99 for the full 14-track album.
(If you live in a place that charges sales tax on online purchases, add it to each number above to get the total.)
