Is there a printable view option in Mac Mail?

Hi, If I print out a email I get the full header. Is there a printable view option or a way I can select a mail option to not show full header, at least while I print out a email. The way it is now, I end up with one full page of header information and a second page with the email message. So the email message there is no date because it's on the first page with the header.
Help
Thank you

Welcome to the Discussions.
While this would not be handy for me, if left the same all the time, you can Show Header detail to None in Mail Preferences/Viewing, and then print. Not very useful except with a few messages.

This sounds like the age old problem with keychain & Safari. I don't know of a way to solve it without using something like 1Password.
The iOS app has it's own built in browser, so it has more control over what gets autofilled. Safari on OS X has an 1Password extension that handles account selection & autofill etc.
Keychain is great in principle, but it quickly falls down when you need tight integration with many ID's & different use cases (work, home etc).
I'd suggest you submit feedback to Apple about your thoughts. I did so years ago about this issue & this is how far we have come (back to the point where me.com synced passwords) :^)

Other tools like lastpass or keypassx may also help if you want to truly segregate password storage, but that doesn't fix autofill, the way around that issue is to dedicate one browser for work.

You can use "Ctrl +" and "Ctrl -" to zoom pages quickly and "Ctr 0" (zero) to reset the page zoom.

There are also page zoom buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window that you can drag on a toolbar.

  • Is there any print screen option in mac book like we have in other make notebooks

is there any print screen option in mac book like we have in other make notebooks

    Make a screenshot:
    CMD + SHIFT + 3 = whole screen
    CMD + SHIFT + 4 = you can select a area
CMD + SHIFT + 4 and after that press space bar = select a window
That will take a screenshot to your Desktop. If you additionally hold down the CTRL key the picture is taken to the clipboard and could be pasted to a program (like Preview or Photoshop ...)

  • Re: Desktop view option with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion

After clean istall Lion and back up from time machine I had an issue with my viewing option on the destop files! After setting up the way I want my desktop files (Snap to Grid etc..) although they stay where they are while I am working, however, when log out, shut down or restart the computer back again, I find my destop files (eccept the hard drives)  repalced/moved around by themself on the desktop. I thougth the clean install Lion will clear the proplem, but did not. Is there someone who can help with this issue? Thanks

Sorry I can't help with the jumping around, but having lots of desktop icons causes the system to slow down.
Although, maybe they've improved that process a bit.
I think Snap to Grid maybe causing the issue, though. With Snap To Grid off, holding down the command key while dropping will cause the icon to snap to the nearest grid. That may be a workaround until it is fixed.
Hoping that Apple notices the issue will fail. Try providing feedback or using the Bug Reporter in the Apple Developer connection (I think you can still set up a free account to do this).

  • Is there a Re-Map option on MAC? (Reconnect automatically after reboot).

Ok...have a NAS storage box that I can map to from the MAC via IP address...works fine...
But if I reboot the MAC I loose this mapping. (And have to remap it each time). In Windows there is a Reconnect at Login.
Is there anything like this on the MAC? So I don't have to Remap or ReMount this device?

There are several ways of doing this, depending on quite how you want it to work.
Do you want it to mount when the machine boots, or when you log in?
There's a difference. If you mount it at boot time, it'll be available to all users. If you mount it when you log in, it won't mount until you log in.
The latter is easiest to implement - Just drag the icon of the shared volume to the Login Items panel of the Accounts preferences (System Preferences -> Accounts -> (your account) -> Login Items).
Anything here will be opened when you log in. In the case of a shared volume that will initiate a remount of the server.

  • TS4083 My mailboxes do not appear in alphabetical order in the mailbox view pane in Mac Mail??

My mailbox list in the mailbox view pane does not appear in alphabetical order. (Mac Mail iCloud account). This is on my iMac running Lion 10.7.4. Interesting though, the mailboxes are alphabetically sorted in my laptop and iPhone which are both also synced to my apple account. I'm baffled???

    Hi Graham,
Getting the alphabetical sort of your songs is easy. If you upgraded to the new iTunes all you would do is view your music and go to the List view. That option is on the right hand side underneath the search bar. Once you have change to that view, just click on the Name view to organize by name.

  • IS THERE A SINGLE VIEW OPTION?

I want to know if there is a way to view two pdf's in one window as a 'left and 'right'. I have set the format to 'two page continous' but would like the left column to be the first pdf and the right column to be the secnd pdf.

As TSN has mentioned, this aspect of MDI and SDI is one that Adobe played with because of MS. Adobe got a lot of complaints when the moved to the SDI and my guess is they finally listened to customers (surprising sometimes) and brought the MDI back in AA XI. At least that is what I saw. It may be that you can still open a second Acrobat window too, I did not try that. Personally I like the options of have second windows as well as the MDI, but that may be asking for too much.
With my age, I am not a big fan of change. I have always found a lot of the change to be a big relearning need, without little improvement. It took a lot of time before many windows applications started putting keyboard shortcuts in rather than forcing the inefficiency of point and click. For a touch typist, the point and click view was a step backward in speed. With Win 8, they just had to get rid of the standard start menu, and from what I have seen in 8.1, it is still not there, though I understand they did set it up as an option. Of course, the goal is really to force you to by a new computer to help the rest of the industry also, and fill our landfills with "old" computers -- even though you are supposed to recycle.

  • Is there a ( SEND LATER ) option in Apple Mail ?

Hi, I need to configure apple mail in Mac OS X 10.5.6 to queue messages, i.e. send latter,
I don't want to take the account offline, I still want to receive messages but be able to control when an eMail is actually sent.
It's for a client who has a bad habit of sending unfinished eMails too quickly.
We are moving her to mail after 8 years using Eudora.
    Please advise, thanks

If a particular client or particular software package doesn't work for you, then go find a package that better fits your requirements and expectations; there are options around. Thunderbird seems to have options here.
As for suggestions around Apple Mail, that's usually via the "Provide Mail Feedback" item in the Apple Mail menus. Apple Mail > Mail > Provide Mail Feedback > and make your case.
Would there be a reason to hold off on sending your enhancement suggestion for a few hours?

  • Is there any way to download my Mac Mail Contact list (Addressbook)from Snow Leopard to an iPad, or iPhone?

I have an Intel iMac Model 8,1 Running Snow Leopard (10.6.8), and a 4th Gen iPad. Is there any way that I can import my Mac Addressbook from my iMac to the iPad so that I don't have to manually enter over 1,100 names and email addresses?
My installed iTunes (v11.0.3) function for synchronizing the two units tells me that Contacts are sync'ed only via iCLoud, which, or course is only available with OS 7.0 and above. I cannot uppgrade my iMac above Snow Leopard without losing application compatibility on both a major contact database program, and an engineering drawing software program, with thousands of manhours and dollars worth of valuable files, that have been generated over many years past, neither software applications of which are supported by OS 10.7 and above.
I cannot believe that Apple would be so blindsighted to this type of issue and there must be some work-around.

Worked like a charm and resolved my problem totally. The only issue I had is that, unlike the Computer (Mac OS). the iPad doesn't give constant visibility to what it is doing (feedback), so I wasn't initially sure it had done anything.
When I opened my emailed message with .vcf file attached, and tapped the .vcf attachment icon, I saw activity on the icon for just a few seconds, then it reverted to the original with nothing apparently happening. After about 30 seconds, the secondary menut popped up indicating the transfer of 1200 addresses would be completed, if I approved the action. Another 10 to 15 seconds then transpired before the completed Contact list appeared on the ipad. So you must be patient, if you have a large Addressbook. That's reasonable, but unexpected lack of feedback left me wondering, like so many other things on the iPad.
THank you for the assist. Apparently Apples Mac Genius people did not know this procedure, and I will pass it on to my local Apple Store Instructor.

  • 'stationary' in mac mail?

I was using a PPC imac until about 2 months ago when I got a new imac, running SL.  Last year or maybe even before that, I remember seeing some info about options in mail that were not available to those running a slightly older OS and I think one of them was a type of 'stationary' in mac mail.  I'd seen some of the templates and thought I could se think of times I might want to use one.  When I got my new imac I looked in mail and it doesn't look any different than the mac mail I had running on my PPC with Leopard.
Today I was at the apple store, picking up my imac which needed service at apple's request and on apple's dime and played on a an imac there running Lion, to play with it a bit and see how it looks.  I've been holding off, wanting to see if they shake some of the bugs out from the first roll out.  I opened mac mail and saw a little box in the upper right corner and when I clicked on it, a row of 5 or 6 stationary templates showed up.  So they are there in Lion.  But I SWEAR I saw some hype/advertisement about this feature over a year ago and remember it was not available for my older OS.
Does anyone know if there are stationary type options for mac mail, for SL users?
    Thanks,
    michelle

It is available on my machine running Mail in Snow Leopard, but only in the header for a New Message window -
You may need to drag the window wider to the right in order to have that pop into view. If it still doesn't show, check the items set for view in the toolbar: with the New Message window active, select "Customize Toolbar..." from the View menu, and add that item if necessary.
Note - you can create your own stationary very easily. Make any changes you want to a message in the New Message window, such as background color, font and styling, text blurb, etc.; then select "Save as Stationary..." from the File menu. Give it a handy name when asked.
Once you do that, it will be available in the "Show Stationary" pulldown menu.

  • Changing View Options for only 1 folder

I tried changing the View Options for Documents so that I can see which ones were modified recently, however it applies the Date Modified option to every single folder, including my home folder.
Is there anyway to just change the View Option to a single folder at a time. For example, I'd like to have Documents by Date Modified, but my home folder (user folder) to be arranged my name so that all my folders show up alphabetically.

  • Changing View Options for a Finder SEARCH Results

I want to add SIZE to the Finder window that is generated from a <command> Find.
I cannot add anything to the standard Name/Kind/Last Opened. I want to add SIZE to the search results window. When I choose View Options, the options window says:
There are no view options for the Searching This Mac window.

In normal Finder windows you can select View>view options>*Calculate all sizes*
In Finder search window results, this has been hobbled. Here is the work around:

  • View option in bi publisher 11g

    Hey,
There is a bi publisher report embedded in obiee dashboard page. There are several view options in the report. When we try to view the report as excel or rtf it gives a pop up to either open or save.It acts more or less same as Export to Excel/rtf option.
Is there any option to make them viewable in the same window .Is this a tool limitation?.
Kindly reply if you faced the same issue
    Regards,
    Ishwarya.

    as far as i know
in 11g from 11.1.1.6 you can hide the entire parameter section not the single parameters which needed check this link
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25178_01/bi.1111/e22257/whatsnew.htm#CHDCDBCA
New report viewer action button to show or hide parameters
This release adds an action button to the report viewer to enable users to hide or show the parameter region. This enhancement complements the new parameter display options. When report parameters are configured to display as a dialog or in a separate full page, the parameter display region is dismissed when the viewer displays the report. Use the Parameters button to redisplay the parameter region to make new selections.

  • Mac Mail is continuously adjusting the "allow insecure authorization" option on it's own

I've already lost 3 clients due to a lack of timely email response, and I had no idea why Mac Mail was having issues connecting to my email server. I've spoken at length with my web hosting support, and it turns out the options in Mac Mail for "Automatically detect and maintain account settings" and "Allow insecure authentication" are new with Yosemite, in both the incoming and outgoing settings (see below).
Well it turns out the only way for me to be able to even use Mac Mail and have it connect to my email server, I have to have "Automatically..." unchecked, and "Allow insecure..." checked in each and every one of the accounts. I completely hate the idea of having to have anything "insecure" associated with my email, but it's the ONLY way I can get it to function properly, and I don't have the time to integrate everything to another email program at the moment. Not only is this a huge security risk in general, but the program will continuously uncheck the "Allow insecure authentication" option entirely ON IT'S OWN about every 20-30 minutes or so, completely jam up all communication I'm working on, require me to go back through and repeat the same tedious process for each and every one of the accounts, and then ALSO have to totally shut the program down and reopen it for the settings to take effect. In fact, the second of the two images seen above JUST unchecked the "Allow insecure authentication" box between the time it took me to start this post and take the screen shot!!
Something HAS TO BE FIXED with this or it could be a huge issue in a lot of ways. I'm planning on dropping the whole program altogether just as soon as I have the time to properly migrate all of my email setup to another program (which I'm looking forward to less than I would a root canal), but for now I'm just hoping and praying I make it that far without either a major security breach or losing any more clientele. As is, I've lost three clients in just the last week from not being able to correspond on tight deadlines.
Downgrade, in all meanings of the term...

Since you are doing a workaround, try deselecting use SSL.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
