Is there a program any user can recommend similar to Mcafee shredder?

I have recently moved from Windows (and yes I miss Windows a lot) but also love my new MacBook Pro
I read that it's best to stick with ClamXav for routinue checks.
But is there a similar program to Mcafee Shredder that any Mac user can recommend? As I found that to be a very useful piece of software.
And yes I am aware that I can securely delete my trash but I would like to know if there's an alternative.

You still need a anti-malware for Windows if you running it on your Mac.

1: Dont install Java, but if you or a program does, make sure it's turned off in all browsers preferences.
2: Your going to need Flash most likely, however use Firefox instead of Safari as it's better at protecting with more frequent updates than Safari. I advise the NoScript addon, add a Temp All All button to the toolbar, this way you can control Javascript, Flash and other plugins and website exploits from running on untrusted sites.
3: Run Software Update at least once a week. When Apple has a OSX upgrade (paid) wait about 6-8 months and then upgrade so others who are more advanced can test it and report bugs.
4: Biggest malware vectors on all computers, browser iFrames and advertising (NoScript, check block iFrames and Ad Block Plus can assist)
5: Biggest malware vector on OS X, trojans (trust the source of outside software) and vulnerable plugins (Java and Flash mainly) next followed by Safari and iTunes, also Chrome. Because they are based upon Webkit which is been a large problem for many vulnerabilities.
6: Apple is notoriously slow to update for security vulnerabilites everwhere, OS X and all their programs, and takes two months to update programs like Opera in App Store. So don't trust AppStore for timely updates or it's software for anything that could compromise your security or your machines.
Mac's are now a target for malware, has been attacked (Flashback botnet trojan) and Apple has been a little bit slow to get up to speed and attention to them, they still don't have monthly security patches, rather waiting a average of 90 days.

We have a Sunfire 6800 and Solaris 8.
I found out that any user can use up all available semaphores and shared segments, system wide.
Then system enters to unstable situation, which many important processes fail.
To resolve this situation, one can use ipcs command and take back reserved memories and semaphores from that "user"...
But this is after something happens.
To avoid something happens, do you know a method or a tool in Solaris 8 or 9 to restrict usage of semaphores and shared segments for each user or group of users?

Sorry, I don't think so. That would be pretty cool if you could create a property node for a formula node and then enter a formula on the front panel and use it to update the formula. But you can't create a property node for a formula node and the only way of modifying the formula is by typing it into the formula node on the diagram. And you can't modify a diagram of a running VI.
You could create a VI which is only a formula node with the maximum number of inputs and outputs you expect. Have a button on the calling VI to Edit Formula. When the button is pressed, use a VI server to display the front panel on the formula VI, display a dialog box telling the user how to display the diagram of the formula VI, then stop the calling VI. (You can't edit a sub-VI while t
he calling VI is running). The user will then need to rerun the calling VI to use the new formula.
You might be able to do something by calling MatLab or something like that to get an interactive formula window.

I share the frustations many have listed on this board about FIOS TV and the IMG.
We joined FIOS in an early test market, so I remember when Verizon was just using the "default IMG" rather than "creating their own". When Verizon rolled out their first version of their own IMG, it was a huge step backwards from the version that came standard on the cable box (I believe it was Microsoft). Since they started "building" their own, long-time users have been frustrated that we have yet to get back to the quality level that we had without Verizon's "help".
So, everytime they download a major release (without warning any of us) and scrambling the channel lineup, I wind up discovering what they fixed and what they left broken. Inevitably, I call in with various problems to see if they know about the problem or not. Tragically, depending on who you talk to, you get different answers.
The last call I made was about the fact that some channels cannot be added to "Favorites 1" and other channels cannot be removed from "Favorites 1". When I called the first time, the rep told me "hmmm... that shouldn't be happening, I've never heard of that", but her solutions didn't fix the problem. So I called again, and this time the rep said "Oh, yeah, we know... there is no fix... we are working on it". This problem has been around since Verizon took control of the IMG, and the fact that they haven't fixed it is just something I have gotten used to (my expectations are VERY low for any products supported by a company the size of Verizon -- who hide behind the WORST voice help system I have ever hung up on).
Soooo... to my point.

For the more sophisticated users, who do not need yet another refresh of our box to confirm the bug we have discovered in your IMG releases, is there any way for us to see an acknowledged "bug list" online to save us the frustration of navigating the FIOS Help Line (multiple times to get a real answer from a knowledgeable CSR who is not just going through the checklists)?
I would appreciate the fact that you KNOW there are problems and that you are working on them in a list of "known problems" that I can check easily.
This forum is a great start to helping the community, but it would be nice if users could find the answer without having to wait for acknowledgement from Verizon.

I agree with the above posts, it would be great to have a place with a list of already known problems, and a way for those of us with the time and interest to participate in making the FiOS experience better. Several thoughts:
1) Send a PM to a moderator here asking to participate in a test, or asking for improvements to the Forum. I have done that, some of the improvements I suggested have occurred (thanks Kathleen and CharlotteS), hoping more will; it can't hurt. And I understand my request to be a beta tester has been forward to development. At least one poster put that kind of request in a forum post and I think his was also forwarded.
2) Go to the following Verizon Products Trial site and sign up to test new things: https://www36.verizon.com/MM/Protected/TestTrack/SignIn.aspx. No guarantees, not much on the site right now, but if you sign up you might get to participate in the future.
3) Consider using the Verizon Direct forum at http://www.dslreports.com to report problems rather than the FSC (or after a frustrating experience with the FSC). You have to be a registered user to post in that forum, but I have had a good experience using it. Verizon employees monitor the forum and respond, and only they and you can see the details of your and their posts (one of the things I have suggested to the moderators here is something like Verizon Direct here).
I am retired, I have time to put into an effort to improve FiOS TV. Plus I have quite a bit of experience in testing new computer hardware and software before announcment and/or delivery to customers (IBM), so I think I could help (and I really don't think I could hurt it...). Plus in two more days I will have had FiOS TV for three full years, I have gone through all of the good (and a little bad.....) along the way.

Any user can unlock any other user password protected screen?

Major problem I'm having...!
On my Macbook Air - both myself and my wife can unlock each others password protected screen saver?
Surely this shouldn't be the case...?
We are both admin - but I would of assumed each could only unlock it's own user password protected screen saver.
Any help would be appreciated.

The option to switch to the loginwindow only appears if the "Fast User Switching" GUI is enabled in the "Accounts" pref pane. If that option were to be disabled and eg. a user on a shared computer went home without logging out, in the absence of "admin" access, that computer would be entirely unusable to other users short of pulling the plug, which might interrupt any background operations in progress.
I suppose the behaviour could be alterred depending on the "FUS" status, but really, what would be the point since, as you acknowledge, an "admin" user ultimately has the ability to access an open session anyway?
For reference, note that "admin" users, in addition to the "session owner" are granted the right to unlock the screen in the "/private/etc/authorization" file under the 'system.login.screensaver' key so the behaviour can be adjusted from there.

Is there a program so I can dual-boot my system?

Just a question I'm wondering about: is there any way I can have both Tiger and Leopard up and running on my machine at the same time without having to exit one OS and reboot from the other?
I ask, because I did my upgrades this weekend. Painless and mostly error-free, BTW; I followed these boards, did my maintenance, created my backups, and performed "Simple Upgrades" on all three machines (iMac 20" Dual Core, 17" iLamp, 15" iBook) with absolutely no disasters at all. The systems are all stable in my testing so far, and I do not anticipate any major catastrophes arising.
But, I'm having a problem with my printer in Leopard that I am still trying to resolve; in the meantime I can print just fine in Tiger. However, it is irritating having to switch back-n-forth just to do that.
So, I was just wondering if there was a away to have both Tiger (on my Firewire drive) and Leopard (on the internal drive) running at the same time. If not, no big deal, I can live with it.

The microsoft jdbc driver only use on sql server 2000, but my database system is sql server 7.0

The only free one I know about is ODBC. I don't recommend using it for production apps, but it works OK for development. Most of the driver's allow you to download an evaluation copy.

Cisco Flex Connect and users can not get IP Address by WAN

I have a wlc 5508 with license base to 50 aps, i use a deployment flex connect. I already registered all my access points, I use web authentication to authenticate users guest, and the service dhcp is in the central site.
My issue is the users in each remote site, can not get an ip address by dhcp from the central site, they can authenticate in the guest ssid, but any users can not get an ip.
The request is passing by the wan in this way
Central Site DHCP - Router WAN - Remote Site - Users with notebooks. I use flex connect central deployment (all the traffic consulting to the wlc) .
perhaps i should use local deploy? The wlc is in the central site.
Can you help me to resolving this issue please? , perhaps any advice?

If I configure Central Authentication and I configure central switching I need to create a dynamic interafce for each remote site and each dynamic interface associated with a different VLAN ID, because I can not associate a single interface dynamic to the same VLAN ID, but in my case the client remote in each remote site have the same network segment with the same VLAN ID with the same SSID for guests. My goal is to configure web authentication with the local DHCP server at each remote site, will this work?.Each remote site have its own server dhcp.
If I configure authentication central authentication with central switching with web authenticacion as I set in my scenario?
My issues are the interfaces dynamics, because I have the same network to the customer guest with the same ID VLan in each remote site

Why is the window for entering bookmarks so small? Is there any reason why it cannot be resizable so that users can expand it if necessary.

I have a problem with the window size when entering bookmarks. I would like to expand the window so that I do not have to scroll down through the many folders I have.
Is there any special reason why the window is a fixed size? As far as I can see there should not be any problem with having a window which users can expand if necessary.

I have a MacBook Air and I need to free up space...
1) I have three series of a tv show on my itunes which are taking up loads of memory - see image - I want to move these movie files onto a Flash Drive. However I do not want to move my itunes Music onto the flash drive, only my Movies, and want to keep my music on my hard drive.

If you can play the movies in iTunes, you should be able to open the movie files using Quicktime, which should already be on your system. If you have already transferred the files to your flash drive, open the flash drive in Finder, and hold control when you click on the movie file (or right click if you have the enabled) and select Open With Quicktime Player. This should play the movie directly from the flash drive.

You can move the TV shows to your flash drive by dragging them from the iTunes window to your flash drive in Finder or the flash drive icon on the desktop. When you are sure everything is transferred over to your external device, you can delete the movie from iTunes. I recommend playing the videos from the flash drive first before deleting them in iTunes.
To delete the videos from iTunes, you can highlight them and press the delete key on your keyboard. In the next prompt, you would want to move it to the trash so that it is deleted from your internal hard drive.

Yes you can reset the password for any body using ABAP Code. But for that you really don't need any client number.
If this process is on regular basis, then recommended is to use BAPI for changing the user details Otherwise BDC also works fine.
=> Function Module - BAPI_USER_CHANGE
Call this in the program for resetting the password.
=> CALL TRANSACTION 'SU01' USING InternalTable
This will be executed in the BDC of SU01 transaction recording. Use the Password Change button in the application toolbar of transaction while recording.
