This is a function of expose.
On a full sized keyboard its F11 to show the desktop
F10 separates open windows of the in focus (front) application and F9 separates and open windows.
F8 opens spaces the virtual multiple desktop feature if enabled in System Preferences.

Audio Zoom Quick Key (like in FCP)

Still getting used to the switch from FCP to Premiere. Overall I am impressed, but there are still a few things that make me mental with Premierre. In FCP I can zoom in any window with the command + and return to full view with the command z quick keys. I know that just the + and \ works for the timeline in Premiere, but not in the source monitor. Is there any such thing like that in Premiere - especially when viewing Audio Wave Froms in the source monitor? That little slider bar drives me nuts and waste a lot of time. It's much quicker to just zoom in and return to full view with a key stroke like I am used to in FCP. If anyone has a solution, I would be most greatful. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jim for the reply. I do know of that featuer toggeling the panel full screen, but what I am wondering is that once you do that, is there way quick key that will then allow you to zoom into the waveform like when you use the sliders at the bottom of the panel. In FCP, i can put the play head near the spot I want and press the command + key and it will then zoom in on a frame by frame basis - much like hitting the + key in the main premiere time line. Does that make sense? Thanks again!

Cursor behaviour when quick key zooming

Is there a way to change the cursor behaviour when using a quick key (cmd-space) zoom?
When laying out complex forms i often need to quickly zoom in to accurately position (say) a checkbox i've just place on the page, but if i cmd-space zoom i have to then click the arrow tool before i can continue positioning the element in question.
Not a big problem with one element but if i need to zoom in tight to reposition a number of elements i've selected, the need to click the arrow tool after the zoom causes that selection to deselect. Which means zooming in on each one to position it.
In short, is there any way for acrobat to revert to the current tool after a quick key zoom?

JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true) has bugs! I agree. I created my own lookAndFeel extending mostly from MetalUI components. I then made my own RootPaneUI and TitlePane, so I was knee deep in the MetalRootPaneUI code. You cannot fix the flicker problem. When resizing, the new bounds are determined and then setBounds is called on the window, either a Frame or Dialog. The setBounds call forces lightWeight components to repaint(), causing the flicker.

I then used the titleBar's closeButton to close the dialog. Just after clicking the closeButton, I moved my mouse quickly over the edge of the dialog before it had a chance to disappear. Sometimes I was fast enough and the cursor got stuck. The above code is all I could do to fix it.
The resizing was filckery or slow whether I used the real MetalRootPaneUI or my own. I also tried the dynamicLayout and noerasebackground with unacceptable trade-offs. Luckily my app only has one JFrame. So, I only setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated JDialogs, which are never resizable in my app. This means that my JFrame is the only window in the app that uses the OS TitleBar rather than my own. Although, my JFrame resizes without flickering.

Is there a quicker way to hide file extensions on multiple files.

So, there's the real filename (visible in Terminal) and then the displayed name in Finder and some other applications such as Front Row. Well, I'm using Front Row and I would like my AVI files to display just the name of the movie - not the full filename.
OS X allows me to change each file individually to hide the extension (either by renaming it in Finder or by checking 'hide extension' in the file's info box) and also allow the whole curtain to be pulled back via a setting in Finder's preferences. But there doesn't seem to be a way to hide the extensions of a particular bunch of files en masse.
What I would like to know is: Is there a quicker way to do this for all my AVI files? There doesn't seem to be an Automator task that will change file properties (other than permissions). Is there a way I could do it at the command line perhaps? I'm fairly handy with Unix shell scripts and Perl - I'm just relatively new to OS X, that's all.

The basic mechanism is to select all the files you wish to change then hold down the OPTION key and select Show Inspector from the Finder's File menu. Check the box to hide extension. This will set the preference for all selected files.
If your files are scattered all over the place, then use the Finder's Find function to find all files with the extension attribute you want, then save the result as a Smart Folder. Then select all files in the Smart Folder you created and do the above.

I had this same problem and the F6 function key did not work. I also could not manually disable the touchpad via Device Manager. I reinstalled the touchpad driver and am now able to use F6 to disable, though I still cannot via Device Manager. I installed the Synaptics PS/2 driver for Lenovo V570c onto my V570 and it works.

Hi - I've recently started working on a new 27" iMac with Lion installed.
I''ve installed adobe illustrator but I'm having a problem with quick keys not working. The most annoying one is probably the text scale up quick key

Does anyone know if this is a problem that can be solved?

Sure you can, assuming there are no security restrictions on any of the files that would prevent it.

We have to continually shut down cs6 otherwise we lose control over quick keys and other buttons.

We are using windows 8 on a new machine. We are constantly closing and opening ai cs 6 because we lose our quick keys as well as other features. Are there patches for windows 8 required?

Illustractor CC quick keys not working

I installed Adobe Illustrator CC over the weekend and all of my quick keys do not work. I've tried restarting the computer and not having Firefox or any browser running. Is there a fix to this problem? The quick keys I'm referring to would be (V) to access the Selection Tool or (P) for the Pen Tool etc. None of them are working. It's very frustrating and drastically slowing me down. Would it help or fix if I uninstalled and then reinstalled? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

You can import your media a couple different ways. If you plan on keeping the media on the external drive, I would just direct iTunes to read the media folder on the external. Here are the steps on how to make that change.

Bridge will not let me reject files using the quick key: option+delete

This is really starting to frustrate me. I'm trying to move quickly some large quantities of files however, for some reason all I get is a error tone when I attemp to reject a image with the quick key after selecting it, or in full screen preview.
I'm running a OSX 10.9.1 Macbook Pro, with the CS6 Production Suite, Including Adobe Bridge Ver 5.0.2.4
Can anyone shed some light on why this might be happening? Or what the next possible step would be?

Not a mac person, but frequently a tone when doing task is a warning from the OS. Tone may be coded to indicated error.
