Is there a re-calculate operation in Numbers?

In working with a numbers spreadsheet that includes a Randbetween operation...I have a need to generate a new random number within the range. Is there a recalculate operation/command? I can't seem to put my finger on it...Excel uses a function key for the command(e.g. F5)...I have searched the help sections to no avail...
KW

KW,
Almost anything you do will force a recalculation. If you just want to watch the random numbers change, you can format one cell to a check box. Every time you click the check box, you will get a recalculation and a new batch of random numbers.

Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
You can purchase Snow Leopard by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will receive physical media - DVD - by mail.
Third-party sources for Snow Leopard are:
    Snow Leopard from Amazon.com
    Snow Leopard from eBay
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Be sure your computer meets the minimum requirements:
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion - Read the technical specifications.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion

      5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
      6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)

    Hi Aakritie,
What version of Numbers are you using?

  • Is there a way to view image numbers in iPad photos, either of images taken with the iPad or of images copied into Photo (or camera roll) on the iPad?

Is there a way to view image numbers (metadata) on the iPad Photo app, distinguishing those taken with the internal camera from those downloaded from external camera or copied from an email?

sberman: My iMac is running iTunes 11.0.2 already. As well, the Photos tab in the iTunes window shows that "Sync Photos from" is un-checked. And in the box to the right of it is the greyed-out empty folder that I previously synced to in order to remove photos from the Camera Roll.
Ralph9430: I did a reset (Home + Sleep) earlier when I was trying everything I could think of. I have also re-synced a couple of times. No luck.
Thanks anyway. I was hoping someone out there would tell me they've experienced the same problems (non-functioning DELETE button, and persistent data in Photo Library), even if they haven't found a solution. Then I could assume it's a iOS 6 bug. All I can think of to do next is a full iPad restore.

  • Is there a way to get phone numbers back on my iphone / or excel sheet?

Is there a way to get phone numbers back on my iphone / or excel sheet?
    What I've done:
I've upgraded my iphone from 2.0 to 2.1. To be able to do this I've upgraded to the latest iTunes and switched my USB port several times until it was finaly installed. Then, despite iTunes taking 3 hours time for making backups, I found my phone to be completely empty when it was finished. So, I tried to restored the phone. This gave an error 1602 and bricked my phone. Tried it all over again two times more with same results.
The bottom line is that I have an empty phone and I really would like to have my phone numbers back. There's some 1.02 GB of backup information in the apple directory, so I guess they must be something there. But how do I know which file I need and how to decode it?

Your contacts should still be on whatever program you sync your iphone to (i.e. Outlook, address book).
The iphone is not a stand alone device. It is designed to be synced with a computer. If you have not been syncing with a compatible program, then you are out of luck. Your contacts are not included in the back-up because it is meant to be synced with your computer.
"Although iTunes backs up most of your iPhone and iPod touch settings, downloaded applications, and other information (Contacts, calendars, notes, images in the Camera Roll), your audio, video, and photo content are not included in the backup."

there is no filter function in numbers for ipad, its very discouraging,as a ipad fan, even nokia lumia providing filter function in excel in there low cost mobile.
APPLE KINDLY PROVIDE THIS FEATURE AS UPDATE SOON,COZ I WORK ON EXCEL N NUMBERS IN MY IPAD IS DEAD WITH OUT FILTER FUNCTION,I CAN NOT TRAVEL WITH MY IPAD DUE TO THIS REASON,AS I HAVE TO BE IN FIELD WITH SALES FORCE SO I BOUGHT IPAD.

Probably you know that the new version of Numbers for iOS uses the filters created in the Numbers for Mac version.
It's not the best solution but it helps (of course, if you have a Mac!)

  • How do I calculate hours in Numbers?

How do I calculate hours in Numbers? Example: I inserts 7:00 in a cell and 11:30 in another cell. What function do I write to get 4:30?

    Hi Interlaga,
Enter start time in A2. Enter finish time in B2. They will become Cell > Data Format > Automatic with Date and Time (Date None).
    Formula in C2
    =B2−A2
That becomes Cell > Data Format  >Automatic
Refinement is to use 'Date and Time' Format for start and finish, and 'Duration' format for the difference.
Remember that in Numbers, every Date has a Time attached, and every Time has a Date attached (even if they are not displayed in the cell). So if you enter the times on different days (the 'crossing midnight' problem) the finish time will be 24 hours later .
It took me a while to understand this, but a Time or a Date is an instant since 1 January 1904.
    Call back for more help.
    Regards,
    Ian.

    Sorry, no.

  • HT1463 Is there a version of "iWork" or "Numbers" that will work on iMac G5 OS 10.8?

Is there a version of "iWork" or "Numbers" that will work on iMac G5 with OS 10.6.8?

Yes; purchase and install an iWork 09 DVD.
While it's impossible for a PowerPC Mac to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8, the answer is the same for a PowerPC Mac running 10.5.8 and an Intel Mac running 10.6.8, so in this case it doesn't matter which one you actually have.

  • Are there  any other PPC  operating systems

I would just like to know if there are any PPC operating systems
I know theres the mac operating systems up to 10.5
and Ubuntu works with PPC Macs
Is there anything other operating systems that work with ppc

The Wikipedia is your first resource, as BD has shown.
Here are ten popular GNU/Linux distributions (not all PPC):
    http://distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=major
Last year's OpenSUSE is PPC, and the last version of Fedora was PPC.
What's really interesting is QNX, written by two famous computer scientists (Gordon Bell designed supercomputers). You can buy the source code and program for it (that's all). It's famous for its reliability, driving NASA's deep space probes. It runs your Audi.
    QNX

An OpenQNX was promised, but I don't see it. In any case, it's not for us. (Well, it might be good for watering gardens without worry.)

Is there a 1/x function in Numbers?

Thanks. How would I construct a formula that contains a relative cell divided by an absolute cell. This yields a number like 102% or 97%, which I'd rather have displayed as 2% or (negative) 3%?
What I'm trying to do is track values that change periodically divided by a basis (which is absolute).
    I'd appreciate your thoughts.
I read this as 'I want to display the percent change from the base amount.'
With the base amount in B1 and the changed values in the rest of column B, place the formula below in column C, starting with C2, then Filling down.
    =(B-$B$1)/$B$1
Format the target cells as Percent, with and many digits as you want of decimal precision.
