Is there a recommended size for photos used in Keynote?

I'm creating a slide presentation for our leadership program's graduation showing in photos all the activities. Is there a recommended size (in pixels or dpi) for full slide photos?

It really depends on the size of the screen that the presentation will displayed on. If the file size of the Keynote doc is not an issue you can make the resolution (in px) as large as you care to.
DPI is not relevent since it is used for print.

About CLOB size, it's 4Go not 4000 characters - VARCHAR2 supports up to 4000 bytes. Pay attention also to unicode encoding!
Are you using CFQUERYPARAM to insert into the CLOB fields ?
         <CFQUERYPARAM CFSQLTYPE="CF_SQL_CLOB" VALUE="    ">
use the Firebug extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843) in Firefox3 and do some network monitoring: let me know what you're seeing there.

  • Is there a recommended size for the iPhoto Library

I have a large iphoto library .. and when I say large i mean it .. over 500GB ... mostly RAW files... over 50,000 images
And even if my system was handlying things great till now .. i7 processor with 16GB of RAM .. I can see the system slowing down a bit lately ..
Wondering if there's a reccomanded library size as I can't find any info .. and yes I know i can break up the library but i don't want to do that ..
I do use Lightroom .. but don't like the way it organize things .. and also use Aperture .. but ... not impressed at all .... and having a feeling Apple will soon pass it out .. no, i don't have any inside information .. just my feeling.
I just would like to know if there's a max size in order to avoid a DB corruption .. or something similar.
Or max size for best performances ..
    thanks

No max size and as to preformance that mostly has to do with your ahrdware - and youve got great stuff
Others have reported larger libraries but yours certainly is large
best protection against corruption is good backups

  • Recommended size for SGA.

    Hi All,
I need to know what will be the recommended size for the SGA.
how to calculate the MAX size for sga?
    its an interview question.
    Please help?

SGA is composed of buffer_cache, shared_pool, java_pool, large_pool etc. How much memory they need depends on the number of users, the number of different sql statements, the size of the plsql packages, the size of the database, the type of query etc.
You size SGA to get the best performance you can on the server based on what you need to run. There is no rule or formula, just make it as big as possible to give the best performance without causing the server to use paging.
The Max size will depend on how much memory is on the server, the OS you are running, and whether you are using 32 or 64 bit Oracle.

  • Is there a file size limitation to using this service?

I am working on a large PDF file (26 mb) and I need to re-size the original and mess with the margins. I don't beleive there is an easy way to do this in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Pro. It sounds like I have to convert the file back to a Word document, do the adjustments there and then produce a new PDF. I have two questions:
Is there a file size limitation to using this service?
Will a PDF to Word doc. conversion mantain the format of the orginal PDF?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Good day Tim,
There is a 100MB file size limitation for submitting files to the ExportPDF service.  As for the quality of the conversion, from our FAQ entitled Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and formatting information?:
Adobe ExportPDF is capable of exporting high quality information, but the quality of your Word or Excel document depends on the quality of the PDF file you start with. For instance, if your PDF file was originally authored in Microsoft Word or Excel and converted to PDF using the PDFMaker functionality of Adobe Acrobat®, your PDF file contains a rich set of information that can be captured by Adobe ExportPDF. This includes relative positioning of tables, images, and even multi-column text, as well as page, paragraph, and font attributes.
If your PDF file was originally authored using simpler PDF generation methods, such as “print to PDF” or “scan to PDF” options, Adobe ExportPDF will convert any recognizable text and then use sophisticated conversion intelligence to preserve as much of the page layout as possible.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Is there a maximum size for iTunes library

Is there a maximum size for the iTunes libary for windows 7?

Not as far as I know.
My Music Library has 17080 songs (108.38 GB) in it, plus films, Podcasts and a few iTunes U programmes, and I am aware of others using this forum who have larger libraries than I do.

  • Is there any default size for ArrayList

The default capacity of Vector is 10.
Is there any default size for ArrayList ??
    Vector v = new Vector();
    System.out.println("==> "+v.capacity()); // output is ==> 10
    java.util.List alist = new ArrayList();
    System.out.println("==> "+v.capacity()); // here the out put is ==> 0
    Regards
    Dhinesh

No default size for arraylist.initially it's zero.
I think u r comparing capacity with a size those two are different.
Size- represents number of elements in the array.
capacity- the capacity is the size of the array used to store the elements in the list. It is always at least as large as the list size. As elements are added to an ArrayList, its capacity grows automatically.
it depends on the ensureCapacity() method in the arraylist.

I'm searching in the internet forum some are saying that it's only work if your iphone are jelbreak, and the problem is i don't want my iphone to be jelbreak. thanks for reading my question. and please send the question on my email many thanks....

What else is there? There's Siri, A5 chip, 8MP camera, intelligent switching between antennas. Those are the only new things in the 4S. Like I said, if Siri was on the 4, fewer would buy the 4S. Second, the 4 is discontinued to make room for the 4S, so there will be no updates exclusively for the 4. Third, I never trust any reports on the Internet unless it comes directly from the company (in this case, Apple).

  • My iPhone has backed up to iCloud but when I open iCloud on my PC there is no option for photos.

My iPhone has becked up to iCloud but when I open iCloud on my PC there is no option for photos. I have no idea where they are saved. Help?

You can't view pictures on icloud.com, and you can't view anything in your backup without restoring it to your device.  If you want to view pictures on the web, you have to add them to a shared stream with the Public Website option enabled (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  This will give you a private url to view them from your browser.

  • Need help with adjusting size for photos in my website

Wow it's super to know about adobe forum which i never thought existed, i have been to the adobe site several times befor but never noticed there is a forum
Ok i have few issues would like some help if possible.
I have a website for public holidays and festivals and i have been really stressed in the ways i am adding the photos which i am buying from fotolia. First in my featured images the screen is very wide and slim...so i am really having hard time with adjusting the photos so they would fit in a way and show the best part of the photo in the screen, once the featured image is clicked on then their is no problem since it opens up in the full size. Is their a speacial tool in adope (i have cs4) which deals with images in this aspect? Secondly, before i was downloading the image with the regular size in which i bought them (around 3000 px) but that significantly slowed my webiste and i had to resize them into around 500 px, but now the image is small. what is the way around that, is there a feature where i can keep the photo big size with high resolution and little px. I see many big nice resolution photos but very small in size. i have just purchased a lot of photos that i would be posting soon and would like to do them right from the start.
I don't know if i explain the situation right in words but you can take a look here, most photos for the posts are on the main page, please take a look and tell me how i should revise or make better for my photos in the featured images.
I have very little experiance in photoshop so i made a very simple logo, but is there a tool that is speacialy designed to help make it easy doing a professional logo?
Any comments, hints or help would be highly appreciated
Hmmm one more thing....how do i add a pic for my profile? i don't see anywhere i can do so

You should use the crop tool to crop your images. You should never squish your images, it really looks unprofessional:
For your problem with saving images, you can optimize your images for web using the "Save for Web…" menu option:
Make sure that you save your images at the dimension that you want them to display on your website (It looks like all your images in the blog are 620px wide, go with that).
As for your logo, you can make them in Photoshop or Illustrator, but I would reccomend making yours in the latter. Here are some tutorials on logo creation: http://ibrandstudio.com/tutorials/46-adobe-illustrator-tutorials-logo-design

  • How can I set export size for photo's ?

In iphoto I used to name and size each photo for export - can't find this feature in photos.app, hope there is a way of doing it still ?

    Hallo -
select the picture and then export. Besides the file type ( jpg ) there is a small arrow downwards. If you click, then you may choose the size and quality as before.
    Hope that helps

  • Recommended size of photos

Just started using iM 8 on my 1.8 Dual G5 (Yes, it installed and works although it appears a little slowly)! Question: What is the size that photos need to be to insure they will import and display properly? I dragged a couple of photos from an external file and one showed perfectly and another was black. I resized them to 640x480 and no problems but is there a specific max?

Question: What is the size that photos need to be to insure they will import and display properly?
Not sure if there is a limit on the source photo but photo resources stored in the "Project" package are scaled. However, specific storage does seem to be somewhat contextual. For example, all of my source photos are 3008 x 2000 and my tests have been in the widescreen (16:9) mode. In one of my projects all of the photos were scaled and stored at 1624 x 1080 while in the other they were scaled and stored at 718 x 1080. First photo added to the project may determine how all other photos will be stored. In the case of the first project, the first photo was in a landscape orientation while in the second the first photo was in the portrait orientation. In addition, while all photos for my second project were stored in a "portrait" orientation, they were not stored using a "preserve aspect ratio" algorithm -- i.e., landscape photos were stored "squished" horizontally but were correctly displayed in the project and final output. Would, therefore conclude that the scaling algorithm may be based on the height of the first original photo added to/kept in a project and the aspect ratio of the project itself. Believe it might be interesting if you were to post back with comparison notes regarding the scaling and storage of your photos -- i.e., for both the original and the 640 x 480 cropped photos.
I dragged a couple of photos from an external file and one showed perfectly and another was black.
For the moment would assume the "black" display problem may have been due to the scaling and/or file format. Mine were all JPEG files. What were the dimensions and file compression format for your photos?

  • Ideal file size for photos

If I am making photo albums in iWeb, what is the ideal file size for the photo file?
My camera now is 7 megapixel, so the original file sizes are about 3 MB, obviously that'll be very slow to load.
To what file size should I save it to make it load at a reasonable speed and still have a reasonable quality? 500 KB? 200 KB?
In case this is a factor, the typical album I make would have about 40 - 50 photos.
Also, what are the best ways to batch converts -- making a group of photos 500 KB instead of 3 MB? I know a few time-consuming ways (ie. individually resaving the files) or using a thumbnail-making program (have used a program called Thumbs Up).
    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If you are importing your photos directly from iPhoto to iWeb, they will be scaled down to a max dimension of 800x600. If you are using a photo template page or making a gallery page using the following method...
    http://www.mac.com/web/en/Blog/013C4180-4787-4847-BAAB-319222AFC652.html
...iWeb will also make your thumbnails for you automatically.
For all your other freeform pages that you might make, it is always a good idea to size your photos down to their usage size. A good rule of thumb is to consider the width of your page, which by default is 700px. Then divide it out by how many photos across you expect to have roughly. So 3 photos across 700 pixels means that the photos should be scaled to roughly 233 pixels wide maximum. Just a rough approximation is fine.
The reason I recommend doing this is that if you drop in a 2500 pixel wide image into iWeb directly, and you only plan on using it as a 233 pixel wide image on the page... iWeb will do a fine job of scaling the photo down to size BUT it will also save the full resolution photo as part of your web page....not to use, but just for safe keeping. And if you ever discover the RSS feed on your website, you will see that iWeb makes all of these high resolution photos available for download, too! So beware if you value your original work! Don't feed them directly to iWeb.

  • Changing file size for web use - multiple images

My most recent iPhoto event consists of 45 pictures, most of which are 1 MB or larger. I want to scale them down a bit for web use.
I do understand how the export command works. If I want to change all 45 pictures at once (select all), where should I export them to, and then what is the procedure to get them back into iPhoto? I would really like them to all show up as a new event in iPhoto (same pictures as the original event, only smaller file sizes).
Am I overlooking some easy way to do this?

No you’re not overlooking an easy way to do it.
Export them to a Folder on the desktop and then import them.
However, why are you keeping these web versions? The more efficient use of disk space would be to upload them then trash them. If you need other versions in the future you can re-do them. Not a lot to be gained by holding on to them, is there?
