Is there a Refresh Preview option in Adobe Bridge CS6 (mac)?

Hi,
Just been doing a short tutorial on creating a web photo gallery with Bridge CS6..I notice in the tutorial that there are two options for preview ie: preview in browser and refresh preview.
Try as I might I cant seem to find refresh preview..I have to keep opening a new browser to see preview..
Does CS6 Bridge have this option or is it only preview in browser?
if it does have refresh preview how do i find it?
Im using the MAC version of cs6
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

my key key point is i would like to be able to preview a pdf photo gallery in bridge instead of having to go back & forth to a browser..
As said, not much experience with Web gallery but I do do recall the difference for CS6. The refresh Preview button indeed has been removed and it seems to have something to do with difficulties using the Opera browser and also something with Flash in Bridge before but now I'm on very thin ice so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
So sadly enough you are bound to use the default browser for your previews instead of the output preview use before CS6
On the other hand it is also showing how other people will see in. in a real life browser

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. How do I get and install the right version of Camera Raw?

Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. I was told to update Camera Raw to at least 7.2. I tried to download this but got a DNG Converter instead. Where is Camera Raw? (it does not show up in a search of my hard drive. There is a folder of camera profiles but no extension or plug-in with this name). How do I find out what version I have already? How do I get the correct version?  . . . OR . . . is it the case that Bridge will never open Sony raw files directly and I will have to do a separate conversion process every time I want to use a raw file??. Can someone explain this?
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 Mac cannot be launched

    Dear Adobe community!
I just installed my brand new CS6 Design & Web Premium Suite on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.3 and installed all of the available CS6 updates.
Unfortunately I cannot launch Bridge  (version 5.0.2.4) from my account (admin privileges) - after double clicking the icon the application window shows up for just a fraction of a second and I receive a pop-up window saying something like "operation could not be completed successfully" (I am running a German language version).
    - Trying to start Bridge from PS results in the same error mesage.
    - Trashing the Bridge preference file did not change anything.
    - Starting Bridge with the option key pressed and forcing reset of all parameters to default does not change anything.
    - Booting my Mac into safe mode (pressing shift key on startup) does not help.
But creating a new user on my single-user Mac allows to launch Bridge when logged in to that new account.
I'd be more than happy to receive some helpful coments from the experts around here!
    Oliver

    Update - problem finally solved!
    What happened in between:
I started a chat session with one of the Adobe support guys. He said that the cause for the malfunction was most likely a conflict with permissions.
After I told him that I had tried to repair permissions several times by Apple's Disk Utility without success he suggested me to copy the following file / directory from my newly generated "Test" user (under whom Bridge could be launched effortlessly):
    [username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist
    and the whole directoy
    [username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS6
If that would not resolve my problem there was no other "cure" for my problem because of an irreparable permission conflict.
After that I logged in under the new user "Test" and copied the mentioned files / directoy to a separate drive, logged in back as my standard user (the account where Bridge refused to start) and overwrote the files I had just exported before.
Result: Same problems - Bridge refused to start as before.
    Dang...
So there is no way to solve this problem like Adobe said?
Presuming that the pending permission problem was the cause for my Bridge-issue I decided to "force" permissions:
I went to OS X Finder, marked the home directoy of my problematic account, typed cmd + I to open the info window, went to the bottom section where permissions are listed, wnet to the user group "admin" and marked this group as "read and write" (it was read only before!) and chose the option to apply theses settings to all of the sub-directories and files (icon with the gear-wheel).
After the changes where applied I restarted my Mac and logged in as my standard user and opened Bridge:
Bridge started but showed the sub-directories of my "Test" account. So I shut down Bridge, deleted the com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist file from my standard account, rebooted my Mac - and voilà - Bridge works like a charme!
FInally I wouldn't say that there was no "plan B"...
Maybe this workaround can be helpful for someone out there!
    Regards,
    Oliver

  • Uninstalling Adobe Bridge CS6 after installing Adobe Bridge CC

I got all of my Adobe Applications on my MacBook Air through the new Adobe Cloud service. At that time, all of the applications were Adobe CS6. When I saw that Adobe Bridge CC was available, I downloaded it immediately. I had been having problems with Adobe Bridge CS6 working with my Adobe Photoshop CS6. After installing Adobe Bridge CC, I did not find the uninstaller application for Adobe Bridge CS6. I found two copies of the uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CC. Where can I get a copy of the uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CS6 for Mac?

Vizzpat there is no separate uninstaller for Adobe Bridge CS6.  Adobe Bridge CS6 is installed by several applications.  When those applications have all been removed then Bridge CS6 will be removed as well.
In general you can locate the uninstallers for Mac OS in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  You can also find additional information regarding installing and removing applications at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.

I have set up i cloud but my calendars wont sync between MacBook, Ipad and iPhone. Is there a refresh style option or does anyone know what to do to make sure the calendar on my MacBook is the one that the other devices reads. Thanks everyone.

Don't spend a lot of time trying to change it. It's an iCloud problem that's happened before, and when it happened in August it went back to the correct colors in a few days. Just be careful when you add new items to the calendar to use the right calendar (even if the color is wrong), otherwise you'll have things out of synch when the correct colors come back.

  • Adobe Bridge (CS6) - bulk action - JPEG Options must be OKed for every image

    Hi all-
I created an action script for a watermark in Photoshop CS6. Then, I ran my script as a bulk action in Adobe Bridge (CS6) against my JPEGs. However, the JPEG Options dialog/window appears for every image in PS. Is there a way to have this automatically OK (and at the highest quality) so that I don't have to sit and click OK over and over?
I am on a Mac btw.
    Thanks!

When using the camera downloader in Adobe Bridge CS6 with Nikon D5200 we are unable to see previews of the photos and it is very slow to download. The issue occurs under a the users rights, but not under admin level. This is a new issue.

    Hi Jdentremont,
Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
    1.  Navigate to
     “X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
    2. Delete all the files in this folder.
    3. On test PC, delete local cache files.
    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
    4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
    5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.
    Best regards,
    Eric

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 keeps zooming into previews

Hi guys. I'm using Adobe Bridge CS6 to browse some media content, but each time I preview a video, it plays zoomed in about 20% or so. It does this for all video clips, all sizes, no matter how I try to reconfigure the layout, use OUTPUT mode, FILMSTRIP mode, ESSENTIALS etc, it still shows zoomed in.
    I'm running Win7 64bit with a GTX570 with updated drivers.
    Please help. Thanks.

    You mean 200 % instead of 20 %??
Use the loupe on an image and check what the default zoom percentage is, it should show 100 % and if it is at 200 % you have to use your mouse scroll wheel to set it back to 100 % (it runs from 100 % to 200, 400 and 800 %).
If your video files exceed the preview window you have to enlarge this window or if the behavior keeps this way consider to reset the preferences of Bridge holding down control key while restarting Bridge and choose reset prefs.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 "The operation could not be completed"

I cannot get Bridge CS6 to run under my Mac account.  All other accounts on my MacBook Pro work fine with Bridge.  I have re-installed CS6 several times and I have searched the internet for days to find a solution. I can see that this is a common problem but there is no workable solution, and Adobe still refuses to admit there is a problem and to offer a fix.

Only my account won't run this product all other accounts on the same machine seem to work okay.
Then the problem lies in your account. A fresh install would not help unless you also used the Adobe Clean tool to remove all other settings. But that is a bit harsh to try because then all other Suite info is also deleted and you have to reinstall the lot.
And when the app runs in other account it means the install on root level (where your default application folder is and where all other account also make use of) is correct.
The easiest thing would be to create a new account but I don't know if that is an option for you regarding other settings and stuff in this account.
First run Apple Disk utility on your problem account to check and repair disk permissions.
Then open your user library (by default hidden, use menu Go and press option to reveal this library)
Go to the folder called preferences and inhere is Bridge5 plist file, delete this to the trash.
In same user library go the folder called Caches and follow this path / Adobe/ Bridge CS6  and inhere delete both the folder called Cache and the plug in. All deleted files will refresh them selves after you managed to restart Bridge.
Then again use the option Curt provided, hold down option key while restarting Bridge and from the options choose preferences.
    Then try again.
The other option would be to use the MacOs recovery disk on this user account to create a new user library while archiving the older one.
Disk drive 750Gb with 40Gb spare.
Usually at least 10 % free space is recommended for running smoothly. Bridge is very processor demanding and if you have other applications running 40 GB is simply to low to run your system and apps smoothly.
Also be aware that if you have multiple user accounts installed and on all accounts you use Bridge you should find a new location for the cache file. By default Cache is stored in the User library (see above). And depending on amount and size of files and preview settings (100% preview creates huge files) this cache folder can grow to very large proportions.
If you have different user accounts and all create their own library you need to recache every time you visit in the new account.
I have no personal experience with multiple accounts on my machine so don't know if Bridge can handle multiple accounts on one machine with one cache folder on root level.
Network usage is not supported and often difficult but having one machine with one root file for cache might work without problems.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 display question

I am a landscape photographer.  Many times I shoot multiple exposures of the same scene to combine them later in HDR.  These are generally 3 or 5 exposures taken at the same time.  It would be very useful to see each set of multiple exposures on a separate line in Adobe Bridge so I can quickly choose which set to use for processing in HDR.  Does anybody know how to do that?  I could not see it in the View options in the menu bar of Bridge.  I am using Adobe Bridge CS6 (5.0.1.21) on MAC OSX 10.6.8. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

You can't do so in Bridge when having different amounts of series. If you shot always 5 you could drag the content window to a new size in combination with changing the thumbnail size so 5 thumbs would show in a row. The same with 3 but there is no way to have a content window showing 1 line with 3 and 1 line with 5 files in the same panel.
In filmstrip mode you have 1 single line but that does not meet you wishes also.
There is the option to auto stack for HDR or Photomerge (Stacks / Auto stack Panorama-HDR) but frankly spoken this sucks because it either does not do the job properly or simply crashes Bridge to my experience.

  • Adobe Bridge CC (Mac) isn't showing collections generated in Bridge CS6

Opening Adobe Bridge CC doesn't show the collections I generated in Adobe Bridge CS6. Both versions of Bridge are on the same Mac and opened within the same User account (of the operating system). In Bridge CS6 (which seems to not open while running Bridge CC) still shows the collections and smart collections.
    Question:
Is there any way to import these collections or is there another way to show those collections in Bridge CC?

Is there any way to import these collections or is there another way to show those collections in Bridge CC?
Collections are version and user specific. If you want them also in CC you have to copy the collection files manually from CS6 to CC
Open two windows in your finder. Go to the user library (per OSX10.7 hidden by default, use menu Go with option to reveal) and follow this path:
user (your username)/ Library/ Application Support / Adobe/ Bridge CS6 / Collections. inhere should be some files with your saved collection names and the extension .filelist
Copy these to the same location but now instead of CS6 CC.
This should make you collections also available in Bridge CC after restarting it.
Be careful to depend on collections, they are not all that reliable for the long run. If you have put a lot of work in one collection then select all and add the name of the collection also as a keyword to the files itself, this way you have a good back up when things go wrong

  • Windows 8 Pro Adobe Bridge CS6 5.0.1.23 x64 not responding

On my new SSD with a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro and Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium, I regularly get a "(not responding)" warning in Bridge's (5.0.1.23 x64) title bar when opening a folder location, and the program takes around 10-20 seconds to display folder contents. This seems to be an indexing or caching issue, but I have not resolved it through the following fix attempts.
In Bridge settings, I have placed the cache on the OS SSD at "C:\Users\York\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Cache", and I have placed it on a separate internal physical HDD at "D:\Adobe Bridge CS6 temp cache". I have experimented with all other options (100% previews, export, manage, compact, and purge cache - restarting the app after each tweak).
I have Ctrl-opened Bridge to access the "Reset setting" dialog box, where I restored default preferences and purged the cache. This did seem to alleviate the problem temporarily, but it did not resolve it.
I have not uninstalled, repaired, or re-installed Bridge because it is not listed as a standalone app in the "Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program" window or the Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium installer.
My system is Intel i7-2600K, Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti, 32GB RAM, Samsung 840 250GB SSD, various HDDs.
My other system, an Intel Quad-Core Q6600, Asus P5Q-Pro, AMD Radeon HD 6950, 8GB RAM, Samsung 840 250GB SSD, various HDDs, does not have this problem.
    Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks for the input, Curt. I have not changed the TEMP/TMP directories, which are set per Adobe instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/bridge-crashes-changing-temp-file.html. Temporary "not responding" freezes (10-20 seconds) are my issue. Crashes, as others are reporting due to the temp directories, are not occurring.  Other thoughts are appreciated.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 does not display WMF graphics files - what to do?

The question says it all.  I am running Win7Pro 64bit with Adobe Bridge CS6.  This may be a windows/microsoft/wmf file format problem...but what to do?  WMF files display with a icon only.  Please advise.

Apparently Bridge cannot preview .WMF files. I have old ClickArt CDs and occasionally want an image. So I have converted all the .WMF files to .AI using a script in Illustrator. Once converted, Bridge will display a thumbnail.
Here is the script written by Carlos Canto. (Thank you Carlos, whoever you are!)
Copy the script text. Paste in a plain text editor. Save as ConvertWMFtoAi.jsx in the folder Program Files: Adobe: Adobe Illustrator CS6: Presets: en_US: Scripts
Then you find it in Illustrator under File: Scripts
    // script.name = makeAiFilesPDFcompatible.jsx;
    // script.description = opens and resaves Ai files with PDF compatibility checked (Folder Batch);
    // script.requirements = none
    // script.parent = CarlosCanto // 06/4/2013;
    // script.elegant = false;
    // script.forumPost = http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1224874?tstart=0

  • Never used Photoshop CS6 nor Adobe Bridge CS6, on my drive. Trash them before using CC?

    I am a photographer.
I never used the Photoshop CS6 nor Adobe Bridge CS6, both of which are on my drive. I used Apple's Aperture software instead.
    a) should I trash them before downloading CC  (I don't see any Uninstall feature for them)? and,
    b) does Bridge come separately from the $9.90 plan?

Within the CC desktop app there should be and option to uninstall CS6.
If not, go to Hard Drive/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6 and see if it is actually installed.
