Is there a save and resume feature on Forms?

For example, the user starts to fill out a form and then wants to save and finish filling it out at a later time.

Hi,
if your users using Acrobat they can save changes to the forms as often they want.
But if they are using Reader, you have to add additional rights (Reader Extenstions) to your form first.
Please use the search function in the forums, there are countless threads about this topic.
PS: There is also a auto-save feature you can enable with LiveCycle Designer ES3 or higher in your forms:
Adobe LiveCycle ES3 * Run-time (Form Properties dialog box)

  • I understand the design change to the whole "save as app" tab, but I feel that Save and Quit feature from the previous version of Firefox is much better than this "app tab" feature. Is there anyway for me to have this back?

Restore previous session button available on my Firefox homepage is great, but what I really want is the Save and Quit feature. I have always felt that its one of the best features of Firefox, second only to search address bar directly leading me to the actual page. I read some threads about this, and found the answers very unconvincing. One of the suggested ones was "Pin as app tab" . No, I don't want to pin every tab that I want to visit say, thrice as an app. Second suggestion was, click on the obvious button on the homepage to restore the tabs(this took me quite a while to actually see). Why this change in design? This is identical to Chrome's but its very inferior to what Firefox already had. Is there anyway, without downgrading of course, I can get that feature back?

Okay, I found the answer myself. Going to about:config and setting browser.showQuitWarning to true, restored that option and brought it back. Thanks to anyone who is about to post. If this is false by default, it has got to change.

  • How are firefox download pause and resume features implemented? A high-level logic/algorithm would be greatly appreciated.

    ''dupe of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1000658''
I would write a stand-alone program (supporting the pause and resume features) to download stuff from internet. Can someone provide info how this can be done?

Sorry that is beyond the scope of this Firefox user support forum. <br />

  • I'm not seeing the Auto Save and Versions features

I have a document open in Pages '09 and I'm running Lion, but I am not seeing the auto save or versions features that you supposedly get my clicking on the document name. Can someone help? Do I have to turn this feature on in preferences?

I'm actually working on a Word document that Pages has converted and opened, but the document does have a title bar name. So..I have to do a manual save before auto save will start working?!?
You don't have to do a manual save. Pages will auto save the converted Word document. If you quit Pages after editing the converted document without saving, Pages will reopen the converted Word document, give it a temporary window title of "Untitiled" and have saved your edits.
I did think I see a preference setting for auto save that wasn't checked in my preferences.
I don't think Pages every had auto save. Word does though, and this may be what you're remembering.
Also, how does all this auto save and versions stuff work…
Have a read of Apple's support document titled OS X Lion: About Auto Save and Versions. This explains both and how the two features are related but different.
NB While Pages auto saves new, untitled documents it doesn't create a Version of these documents.

  • How exactly do firefox download pause and resume features work?

Could I get technical information on how exactly these functionalities work? If you could provide enough details to enable writing a stand-alone program to download stuff from internet with pause and resume functionalities, it would be of great help.

Open the download window''' <Control> J.''' Right click on the file in question
and select pause. '''Warning ! !''' Sometimes the resume does not work on
    some web sites.

  • There is no "Save and Close" feature anymore, just "Close Tabs".

After installing Firefox 4, I no longer have the option to save tabs that are open for later sessions. This is a feature I use often and need to have back!

One change in Firefox 4 is to by default stop Firefox displaying the warning message, but it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.warnOnClose''', if its value is set to '''false''', double-click on it to change its value to '''true'''
    # Repeat this for these 3 preferences '''browser.warnOnQuit''', '''browser.warnOnRestart''' and '''browser.showQuitWarning'''

  • Save and quit feature not working on FF4. Always worked in Firefox 3.6.Running Vista home premium

When I close firefox 4 the option to save the open tabs is not offered. Only choice is to cancel or close tabs. Running vista home premium. Only extensions are adblocl plus and image zoom

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get back the previous session.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
    Another possibility is to use:
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle with a double left-click.
    * browser.showQuitWarning, see http://blog.zpao.com/post/3174360617/about-that-quit-dialog
    * browser.tabs.warnOnClose, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/About%3Aconfig_entries
    * browser.warnOnQuit , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnQuit
    * browser.warnOnRestart , see http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.warnOnRestart
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Is there a "search and replace" feature on IWeb?

After building my entire site from scratch, I have learned many, many things that will help it load faster, etc.
This will involve redesigning buttons, and taking some photos and manipulating them in Photoshop (rather than adding borders in IWeb, etc.), etc.
As I have several pages that include the same items, is there a way that I can find all of the same pictures and replace them with my new edited version with a "search and replace" type of function? Or do I have to go to each page, and delete the old and add the new?
Thanks for all the help -
    Kim

As I have several pages that include the same items, is there a way that I can find all of the same pictures and replace them with my new edited version
You'll have to copy an paste the new items in each page.
I suppose you could name the new item the same as the old and replace it in the individual page folder. I think that would save you from having to edit any html pages. But if you're going to make other edits to the page which require you to open it in iWeb you might as well replace it that way. It will have to be the same pixel size as the previous file was.
I did a file replacement for the last three tutorials button in my Old Toad's Tutorials site. Worked like a charm until I next publish.
*HOWEVER, if you republish the site or page the files will be replaced with the originals. So unless you're not going to change it again you'll have to do the change in iWeb so they will remain changed.*
Just changed that page from within iWeb so the demo of the process is not available any more.

  • Save and Close the PDF form

I've created PDF Form (Acrobat XI standard) with various field and button for sending the link of document location by outlook mail. I need the adobe java script for save the document in same location and close the document while i use the button for sending the link.

You can only save the file to a specific location if you can install a script on the local machine where the file is used.
Otherwise the best you can do is cause the Save As dialog to open, but you can't force the file to be saved.

  • Suspend and resume of WD ABAP applicaiton support in the Portal

    Hello,
I am implementing Suspend and resume feature in WD ABAP. It works fine in NWBC and also in stand alone. But in the portal it does not seem to work. I have done the following.
    1. Created a resume pulg (The applicaiton is suspended as I can see the state to suspend in the WDDOSTATECHANGED method.
    2. The navigation in the portal is in place and WD applicaiton is replaced by my target BSP
    3. I am NOT firing any plugs so there is no problem here
Now what is not happening is the following.
    1. The sap-wd-resumeurl is not part of the url parameters so I am not sure when the WD applicaiton is suspended this parameter is really sent or not?
    2. Since I do not have the resume URL when I press the back in the portal window (right hand side top of the page) the resume plug is getting fired. But the parameters that I have set in the BSP are not part of the url parameters in the resume plug
    3. If I explicitly pass the sap-wd-resumeurl as a url paramter to the BSP (hard code the resume URL since I know the PCD path of my WD iview) and then use this URL to naivagate from the BSP then the WD applicaiton is started but the resume plug is not fired. In SM04 I can see a new session created now.
    4. Step 4 works fine (the suspend and resume) works fine when I repeat it the second time.
A quick help will be really appriciated. I am on SP14 of NW 7.0
    Thanks and best regards,
    Harish.

  • "pack and go" feature?

I have files spread out everywhere, but I need to move a project from one computer to another. Is there a pack and go feature which can help me easily move and restore a project? I didn't see anything like this in Volume IV of the manual...
    Thanks!

The pack and go feature is one you ought to cultivate as a workflow necessity. If you were to get hit by a bus and someone else had to finish your project, what kind of shape are you leaving them at the end of every day?

  • Infopath 2010 Save and Send does not attach .xsn file

Hello all, last year we had departments using the "Save and Send" to send their filler forms to a mail box, since that time we have upgraded from 2007 to 2010 InfoPath. Now when the Save and Send feature is used just the xml file is attached?
    Any help? thanks

after a little discovery, my biggest problem is I have InfoPath 2010 and Outlook 2013.  On a machine with IP 2010 and Outlook 2010 I tested and found only "Restricted" forms allow the template to be sent using Save and Send.
This setting is in the Options/Security and trust.
As long as you have Options/Email attachments set to Form and template + Options/Security and trust set to restricted + matching versions of outlook and InfoPath it works fine.  This was nothing more than user error on my part

  • "Pause" and "Resume" No Longer Work...HELP PLEASE!!!

Whenever I download podcasts, the "pause" and "resume" feature does not work!!! If I "pause" any of my downloads in mid-download..and then hit "resume"...I lose everything that has downloaded to that point and it goes back to the very beginning...this is aggravating since I have dial-up internet and it takes hours to download some podcasts. Do you know if this is a problem with iTunes for Mac or with the podcasts, all of which are from NPR websites? Personally I think it's iTunes...Has anyone else complained of this problem?? It only started to happen, I believe, after I updated my iTunes to version 7.5(19). Thanks so much for your help. ~spinniken

It's not just podcasts! I have had the same problem off and on, but it's just happened again. My internet access is only 64K (not much faster than the old 56K dial-up!) and I was 60MB into the new iPhone software when I paused. That's three hours gone!

  • Using JMS and Advanced Queuing within forms.

I am wondering if anyone can forsee problems with embedding a javabean inside a form that:
    listens to an Oracle queue.
Do you think there would be some type of problem with a connection factory trying to create a connection and a session from within forms using JDBC?
    Thanks in advance

    Sandu,you are right.
A Forms timer with status polling is a good and stabil solution .
But we are connected on a database and a polling of a database event - Job is finished, or a reply received in a Queue -
is always a network traffic and overhead when we use polling times < 1 min ..
It would be also a good solution and interesting feature of Forms that the database event sends a message to the waiting client (process ?) ..
