Is there a security software that can be downloaded to the IPhone?

Is there a security software that can be downloaded to the IPhone?  My insurance agent has warned me of an activity called "smishing" which can harness personal and financia info.

Did you make any effort to discover what he was talking about with smishing?
It is a contraction of sMS phishing.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMiShing
As you can see this is first of a text messaging based social engineering technique that attempt to get you to bite on a false statement to allow them entry in your ohone. On top of which as Razmee209 says you don't have to worry about unless your phone is jailbroken. A non-jailbroken iPhone will not be effect if you are suckered into the bite of the attack.

I have a new MacBook Air running Yosemite 10.10.1 with Quicktime 7 but would like to know if I can view my .mkv files on Quicktime 7 or are there any approved software I can run that's safe for Yosemite 10.10.1.

    Hello kimosabe0731,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! At this time, QuickTime does not support the playback of .mkv files. For more information, see the following resource:

  • Are there any childrens tablets that can run itunes, specificlly the apps?

I am wondering if there are any children's tablets that can run apps in the itunes store. Like leapfrog, fuhu, vtech, etc.

No. The only devices that can run apps from the iTunes Store are the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone.

  • Is there a USB "Mixer" that can take control of the channel levels in garage band?

Im just looking for something like a USB "Mixer" that can take control of the Channel faders in garage band. Sort of like a digital Mixer, but not for recording.
    many Thanks, Hammie

What you are looking for is called a Control Surface. M-Audio made one specifically for Garageband called the iControl but it was discontinued a few years ago. Many surfaces can work with many different DAWs but I don't know off hand any that work with Garageband.

  • Is there a MS Office application that can be downloaded to the Ipad. Im aware that the software is available for the Mac, but is one available for the Ipad?

I just purchased an Ipad 2 and I was wondering if there was an app that would allow me to create MS office docs (Word, Excel) using my Ipad.  I know that there is software for the Apple Mac. Does anyone know if one exists for the Ipad? Thanks!

Ms Office won't work on iPad, try Quickoffice Pro or Documents To Go from the App Store.

  • How many softwares/programs can you download in the student creative cloud package?

    Hi
I recently bought the Student Creative Cloud package and so far I have downloaded Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver and I'm still covered in the $15 a month student package, but now for my latest assignment at uni I need inDesign and AdobePremier, but I want to know if Adobe will charge me more on top of the $15 before I start to download. Is there a limit to how many software you can download? I can't find any information on this.
    Would anyone know?
Thank you so much for any help!!

There is a Photography Plan that includes PS-CC + LR for $10/month + tax, and for students and teachers there is a CC-Complete (all CC apps) for $20/month + tax.
There is nothing for $15/month that I’m aware of so you might want to log into http://www.adobe.com/ click on Manage and see what plan you have and for how much.
Here is the list on Adobe.com:

  • Creating a hyperlink that can be clicked on the iPhone via pdf

    Yes, that's a mouthful.
I thought that this would be possible, but maybe it cant.
Basically I've made a document in Pages that includes a hyperlink (google maps) to driving directions. The idea is that when someone recieves this document on their iphone, they can then scroll to the bottom, click the link, and get to where they're going with ease.
I save to pdf and the link works on my computer with no problem, but when I email it and view the document on my phone. Nothing. Am I missing a step? Is what I neeed to do not possible?
    TIA

I could only get a hyperlink to work on my iPhone if I opened the PDF in iBooks. Your recipent will have to have iBooks installed, but it is a free download from the iTunes App Store.

  • Final cut pro X is supposed to accept AVI. Yet the AVI files my client gave me don't work. I know there are softwares that can convert AVI to APPLE PRORES, but does that affect the quality of the media ?

Final cut pro X is supposed to accept AVI. However the AVI files my client gave me cannot be imported in my Final cut pro X. I know there are softwares that can convert AVI to APPLE PRO RES, but does that alter the quality of the media ?

There are apps that will give you tech specs on files. I think Media Info is one. Most likely it's in done delivery codec like DiVX. AVI is a piece of **** as a container anyway and should have been completely abandoned years ago.

i have tried all of these troubleshooting techniques, have taken it to an apple shop and had my ipod restarted and wiped but still no luck, is there software that can reunite my ipod with my laptop?

What do you mean by "reunite". Are you experiencing connectivity issues between your iPod Nano and your iTunes on your PC? If yes, in what do these issues consist? Are there any error messages you are being returned?

    Hi,
Windows has a function called Narrator. Narrator reads what is displayed on the screen, including the contents of the active window, menu options, or text that has been typed. Narrator is designed to work with Notepad, WordPad, Control Panel programs, Internet Explorer,
the Windows desktop, and some parts of Windows Setup, and may not read words aloud correctly in other programs.
For more information, please refer the following link:
    Turn on and use Narrator

In addition, based on my research, a kind of third party program named JAWS. You could know well it first, and then decide whether you want to buy it.

  • I want to burn my old cd's and have them in my iTunes library. Is there some "I" software that I can buy that will treat the new songs like "purchased" songs (i.e.: available for synching on all my devices)?

I want to burn my old cd's and have them in my iTunes library. Is there some "I" software that I can buy that will treat the new songs like "purchased" songs (i.e.: available for synching on all my devices)?

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/
'With iTunes in the Cloud, the music you buy from the iTunes Store automatically appears on all your devices.1 And for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. iTunes Match is built right into iTunes on your computer and the Music app on your iOS devices.2 It lets you store your entire collection in iCloud, even music you’ve imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. When it’s in iCloud, it’s available on all your devices. So you can enjoy all your music anywhere, anytime — on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, or Apple TV.'
It costs $24.99 p.a.. Songs you've ripped from your CDs which are also in the Store will be recognized (hopefully) and be available: if they aren't in the Store you can uploads them. The limit is 25,000 songs (purchases do not count towards this limit). This is not part of the 5GB free storage.
Incidentally, just to clarify the terminology so you don't get into confusion, you don't mean 'burn' (make a CD from existing files) you mean 'rip' (copy files from a CD onto your computer).

  • I have a MacBook pro 10.6.8, 2.66 Ghz 8GB 1067MHz. Please does anybody know of software that can auto send emails to a word/pages doc. and insert in date order into a book file, so that you can open like a book

I have a MacBook Pro 10.6.8, 2.66 Ghz,  8GB memory 1067Mhz running Snow Lepard. I am going mad with trying to organise emails and cross reference to file documents, also the first model iPad.
Does anybod know if there is any softeware - pages or otherwise that can copy emails automatically to document files and insert them in dated order and also that the file can be reviewed like a book by flicking from bottom right hand corner iPad book style.
Please help me run my contracts easily, it shouldn't be difficult in this day and age.
I currently use Apple 'Mail' and microsoft word but am considering any new software that can organise and integrate mail better. I use photo inserts and scanned documents and excel spreadsheets.

No, I don't know about that kind of software. It isn't Pages anyway. You need somekind of database.
