Is there a setting (eg auto save) I have overlooked?

Thunderbird V31.1.1 Sometimes the same email will appear many times in the "Drafts" folder long after it has been sent, they mostly all have the same "created time"

From the menu bar select '''Tools-Options-Composition-General'''
The first check box is the auto save settings.
No menu bar? Press the alt key.

is there a setting for iphone 4 to have the screen dim to black while on a call?

If you put the phone to your ear, the proximity sensor darkens the display automatically. If you are just holding the phone in your hand or something similar, the proximity sensor is not activated.

  • When I go into iTunes on my Mac is recently takes over the entire screen and I can not get rid of it.  Is there a setting I can change to have it work the old way?

When I go into iTunes (the latest update) now, it takes over the entire screen is difficult to remove.  Is there a setting I can change in it to have it behave the old way?

I presume you are runnning iTunes on either an OS X 10.7 or OS X 10.8 system. Move the cursor to the very top of the screen so that the menu bar appears, then click the blue box with the arrows at the very right corner of the menu bar, or press Shift-Command-F. That will switch iTunes back to a normal window, which it should then remember for future launches.
    Regards.

  • HT204406 Is there a setting to auto erase songs from the phone?

They download for iTunes match and fill up storage. So far, I have to go in every once in a while and individually erase songs. won't let me do it by album or artist.

Ok, if you're wondering about an iOS device, there is no way to do that - you have to tap all of the cloud icons.
But I do have a workaround.
Store all the songs all locally on your Mac
Disable iTunes Match on your iOS device
Plug your iOS device into the computer (or this can be done with Wifi sync)
Sync all songs to your device
Now enable iTunes Match on your iOS device
You now have all songs stored locally on your iOS device and iTunes Match is enabled, so your metadata syncs over iCloud, and you no longer have to plug your device in to update its music library. :)

  • Auto Save - Lost My Homework - Power Outage

Help - I am brand new to Mac - I love my new iMac 24", but the power went out tonight as I was in the middle of my homework assignment. I was using Pages to write my report and had not saved in the last 30 min's. I lost everything I had done! Can you tell me how to set a auto-save function so if I have another power outage, I won't lose all my work again? If Mac's don't have this feature, is there 3rd. party software that will do this? If a PC can do this, I know a Mac can do it, but I just don't know how to turn that feature on.

    Rick,
I believe there is no such feature in Pages. And a Web search recently did not uncover 3rd-party s/w for Mac to do this, although I did see a link to someone who had written a script for it. All in all, I'd say for the moment it's easier to train ourselves to be paranoid and hit Apple-S every few minutes :o)

  • FCP 7 lost sequence after exporting - auto save vault not working

I started a project a couple of days ago. Today I worked from 11.00 - 20.00 hrs. I exported at 20.00 hrs. to compressor (i got a self contained compressed .MOV file out of that pffff)
But then, returning to FCP 7, the sequence I exported (and worked on all day) was completely empty. Everything in the project folder is still there, but the cuts / edits in the main sequence i worked on are all gone.
Inside the Auto Save Vault are only four saves from between 11.00 - 11.30 hrs. (not properly every 5 min.) and one from 20.00 hrs. The one from 20.00 hrs. is a version that also has the empty sequence. The whole afternoon FCP 7 seems to have made no auto saves, even though i set the Auto Save Vault to "every 5 min." in the preferences. Auto Save Vault files (of this same project) from a couple of days earlier are all there inside the Auto Save Vault folder.
Tried already:  Looked inside the other two locations where i have autosave folders of other projects but the files were not there either.
Had a Tiff in the sequence, and a couple of very simple text-motion things.
Can anybody tell me whats going on?
And if there is a way to retrieve?
Never had this before, is this a FCP7 Yosemite issue?
    Thanks in advance!

could be a yosemite issue.  Hard to know.  fcp was never meant to work in Yosemite, so it's hit or miss.
Autosave misbehavior can happen and resetting your fcp preferences usually solves the problem.  Digital Rebellion makes a great utility to reset your preferences (and it's free).

  • Auto Save to iCloud

iCloud seams to be working fine on my mac and iphone. How do I set up auto save to iCloud so I can save stuff from Numbers and Pages to access on my iphone?

In other words : iwork 09 on OSX will NOT sync, regardless of "documents and data" set to yes in icloud's controlpanel.
You need to manually up- and download office documents via a Browser at ww.icloud.com/iwork. Once uploaded, they are in your iwork apps on iOS5.
That is not entirely a bad thing. iCloud is having reliability problems. You should always keep an offline backup of any files in iCloud.

  • Human Task worklist cannot auto save when submitting a Task Action

    Hi
We are using SOA 10.1.3.1. In BPM worklist, if user doesn’t click the “save” button to save all the modified changes, all the modified records in the custom task form cannot store back to BPEL variables.
1.Is there any ways to auto save all the modified info during the Task Action Submission (e.g. on choosing the APPROVAL outcome -> help user to auto save the records)?
2.Or any ways to force user to click "Save" before clicking the "Approval" on Task Action?
    Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Resolved by disabling pop-up blocking in IE8.

  • Does Edge Animate CC have an auto-save function?

Hi there, I'm migrating from Flash to Edge Animate. In Flash there is a customisable auto-save option - each 10 minutes, each 30 minutes etc. Is Adobe Edge Animate has something similar to this?

    No but it is needed!

  • I'm not seeing the Auto Save and Versions features

I have a document open in Pages '09 and I'm running Lion, but I am not seeing the auto save or versions features that you supposedly get my clicking on the document name. Can someone help? Do I have to turn this feature on in preferences?

I'm actually working on a Word document that Pages has converted and opened, but the document does have a title bar name. So..I have to do a manual save before auto save will start working?!?
You don't have to do a manual save. Pages will auto save the converted Word document. If you quit Pages after editing the converted document without saving, Pages will reopen the converted Word document, give it a temporary window title of "Untitiled" and have saved your edits.
I did think I see a preference setting for auto save that wasn't checked in my preferences.
I don't think Pages every had auto save. Word does though, and this may be what you're remembering.
Also, how does all this auto save and versions stuff work…
Have a read of Apple's support document titled OS X Lion: About Auto Save and Versions. This explains both and how the two features are related but different.
NB While Pages auto saves new, untitled documents it doesn't create a Version of these documents.

  • Background auto-save?

Every 10 minutes or so, my IDE stops responding to keystrokes, and my harddrive works overtime. The time delay is considerable. Is there some sort of auto-save happening in the background that I can turn off? If that isn't it, what is it, and can I prevent it? Thx.

  • Universal Auto Save possible?

so I live in a part of the world where power/light, though exists, is infrequent and often comes with a low current or a very high current. As a result I've lost many a file and was wondering if there is a universal auto save program out there of if there is maybe some way to configure automator to do that (a program I know nothing about FYI).
I do have a UPS (battery backup), and regulator but when the current comes high, it blows out the regulator and UPS so I'm still with semi frequent shut down.
    Any help GREATLY appreciated.

Believe me I am ALWAYS saving but my need is not just for myself but for other staff who aren't as quick with apple+S. In there defense the power situation here (West Africa) is abysmal at best and really causes serious problems. Not only that but the sockets here are far less reliable than what I've experienced in US or Europe - when you think something is plugged in, it's not always getting power and even when it is drawing power the likelihood of it switching off is high. Thanks tho for your reply.
