Is there a setting on the iphone 4s that stops text message from popping up on main screen
When I recieve a text message, part of the message appears on the main screen, and stays there. Is this just a settings or some way to stop that?
Settings>Notifications>Messages Turn Show Preview to off.

As ckuan said, there's no way to mark messages as urgent from the phone. So, either your carrier is doing something and you'll need to contact them or it't something on the other end. Is it just one person who's seeing your texts as urgent? Or everyone?

How do you fix a gmail account on an iPhone 4G that stops downloading messages into the InBox? My gmail gave me a notice that said imap.gmail.com is not responding. Can send emails out but cannot download new messages into Inbox.
Hi! So I finally found a disk cleaning kit and tried it out. No luck : (
The exact thing that occurs is:
Put disk in. It does not show up. Cannot get it out.
Turn computer on and off.
Message comes up saying it cannot read the disk and if I would like to erase the disk or eject it.
Then I eject it.
That's the whole of the cycle.
So do you think that just means it;s busted and no other way I can solve it but go with the external drive at this point?

Why won't my new iphone 5 sync my text messages from my old iphone 4S
I have managed to sync all other items on to my iphone5 but the texts are not syncing. I also cannot find a section under the sync options to select texts messages - I thought this would automatically transfer from the backup of the content of my old iphone 4S.
Anyone know how to sync old texts messages across?
Thanks!YOu don't sync text message, they are part of your backup. IF you backup your 4s and restored your 5 from that backup, text message should be on your new phone.

Is it possible/how can I transfew all of my text messages I currently have on the iphone 4 to the iphone 5 when I get the new Iphone?
For example, let's say I'm having a text message conversation with you over a 3 day period. I never delete the text message/our conversation from my Iphone 4... P.S. I would call before you drive too. I live within a half hour drive of two Apple Stores, several AT&T and Verizon Corp. stores, several BestBuys and a couple of Sprint Stores. When the iPhone 4s came out, the local news reported that every single source was sold out within an hour of opening the doors on release day. For that first week or so, stock arriving in the morning was sold out by noon - it was literally not worth even trying to buy in store for that first week or so, it was sheer bedlam. -

Have you checked Ford's website if this is supported, or asked the dealership where the auto was purchased? Anything included with the auto manual?

I have a Mac Mini from 2013 with OSX10.7.5 and a MBP from 2009 with OSX 10.6.8.
Both are connected with ethernet cables to the Airport extreme (2012) and both have silesharing enabled through afp.
The mac are not showing up on either one of the computers.
Is there some setting on the Airport extreme that dissallowed me from file sharing between computers?
Uptil one week ago I used to connect with wifi on my MBP and before this I was able to see the MBP in the finder under shared computers. The only difference is that I now connect with only ethernet cables.

The airport could not stop the connection..
In finder set it up manually.. so go.. connect to server.
And type in the address manually.
AFP://Computername
This should then ask for password if required and allow you to see shares. -
I can AirPrint from my ipad but my iPhone does not see printer ? Connected to same network. Is there some setting on the phone I'm overlooking?

Thanks!Since there is no "drafts" folder on an iPhone for SMS's, not sure how something like that would work anyway. You can always copy to the notes app, then paste back yourself.

I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? I try to add songs from my music into my phone section and it will not go... Plus the playlists on my phone are not updated on my iTunes phone on my computer. Its like it never updated. What am I doing wrong??
Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content.
Make sure you have copied everything from your old computer to your new one first. -
On previous iPhones you could go to settings and block the the actual text message from pooping up. Only the sender would show up. On the i4gs the sender and message show up. This is a major flaw as far as privacy. There are no options with in settings to stop this from happening. PLEASE TELL ME IM WRONG ???
YOU ARE WRONG.
Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages. You can turn Notifcation Center off for Messages, or select None for the alert style, and turn Show Preview off, and view in Lock Screen on or off. -

no, there currently is no way of doing this. You can only create a second Apple ID.
