Is there a shortcut for the hand tool in Au, like holding down the spacebar in Ps and Ae?

Is there a shortcut for the hand tool in Au, like holding down the spacebar in Ps and Ae? It seems only available in the time ruler above the waveform or when dragging the 'zoom selection(?)' in the mini waveform at the top. I'm using a Wacom, so no scroll wheel...

?I went ahead and added a feature request for a Hand panning tool.  The request comes in every so often, and we certainly want to make Audition more appealing to a wider cross-section of Creative Cloud users.  While we probably can't emulate the "press-and-hold space bar" model, a shortcut key to toggle that mode would be possible.

I was recently updating my phone to the newest software after ios7. It froze for quite a while so I tried holding down the home button and the power button and it shut off. Now it says I have to restore my whole phone but an Error keeps occurring? It brings me to a website saying the steps to possibly fix it but I don't find them helpful

  • Why does the hand tool come up when I click the mouse?

I am a very knowledgable individual of InDesign but this is a stumper. I cannot use any single tool that I have. When I press the buttons on the side, for instance the text tool, the image that should appear for the cursor does, but once I click the mouse, the hand tool comes up and drags my page around. This is even when the hand tool is not even selected. I am not pressing any buttons on the keyboard or anything, this is quite frusterating. I am trying to do this job and can't even edit previous files or make a new one. Should I reinstall, or what? Please help!! Thank you.

  • Kernel Panic: You need to restart you computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again.

I apologize for writing a book, but I think explaining the full story may possibly get me a correct answer.  I hope that someone can give me some insight as to what is the problem with my MacBook Pro.  I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2008), model identifier: MacBookPro4,1 running OSX Lion 10.7.5 with 6 GB memory.  My wife first noticed a problem with the display.  Every so often it would get fuzzy with jumping lines going across the screen making it vitually unviewable.  The final time that incident took place the computer froze which required holding down the power button to restart the computer.  The computer started up to the point of the Apple logo and the spinning gear for quite some time until the screen darkened from top to bottom displaying the following message in five different languages: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again."  I have read other blogs and support communities where people get the message intermittently, but my computer would not go past that point no matter what.  Through research and the Apple Store I was told that this is a Kernel Panic.  The so called "Apple Genius" at the local Apple Store was unable to get the computer to boot past that point even with his gadget.  It would not startup in recovery mode, safe mode or off of a disc.  I forget exacty what he told me, but he said it was getting past the first two startup steps, but it would not get past the third step which is to mount the desktop.  He guessed that it may be a problem with the hard drive; a loose wire or something or other.  I disconnected the hard drive completely and took it out.  Everything appered to be connected properly.  Then I installed it back correctly, but it did not solve the issue.  So I guess I disproved his theory of a loose wire...  I purchased ProSoft Data Rescue 3 and connected my MacBook Pro to another Apple computer using a firewire 400 cable.  I was able to get everything I needed off of the hard drive.  I did some more research and I decided to restart the MacBook Pro in verbose mode (holding down the command button and V button).  The computer magically started up!!!  I was upset that I wasted my money on the ProSoft Data Rescue 3.  I managed to take additional items off of the computer and back it up on to an external hard drive.  After some time the computer froze.  I repeated the power button process to restart and received the same kernel panic.  I managed to get the computer to startup approximately six or seven more times via verbose mode; each time the computer staying on for a shorter amount of time before it would freeze.  I managed to run Disk Utitlity.  I performed first aid to fix the hard drive and it said that the hard drive appeared to be fine.  After first aid I erased the hard drive and booted off of a Lion disc to perform a clean install or an erase and install.  Lion installed until the progress bar got the the end where I received a message that there was an error installing Lion, please try again.  Each time I attempted to install the software I would receive the same message.  Eventually the computer would not boot from the Lion disc.  I went back to the Apple Store and the Apple Genius was able to get the computer to boot off of his gadget where Lion istalled completely.  I set up the computer as a new computer.  He said that he partitioned the hard drive as DOS and then back to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) which would get rid of any errors the drive may have had.  He guessed that the problem was the hard drive, but was not exactly sure.  When I brought it home I installed all of the software applications I had on it previously.  Approximately three days later, which may have been the fifth of sixth time starting up the computer, the display became fuzzy again and the computer froze.  The computer did restart once and I was able to retreive a "log" which I have pasted below.  After if froze for the second time it restarted once using verbose mode and froze almost immediately.  After holding down the power key to shut it down and then restart; I received the same kernel panic after the Apple logo and spinning gear which put me right back to square one.  Now the computer will not boot via any method.  It freezes at the end of verbose mode which forces you to hold down the power button to shut down.  I also read that poorly seated ram may cause this issue, but I removed and installed the ram multiple times.  I even purchased new ram from Other World Computing (Mac Sales) 6 GB, but that did not make a difference.  I think I may see six possible problems on the verbose screen mode, five errors and one warning; I will type them out here:
    1. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key $Num (kSMCKeyNotFound)
    2. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: $Num kSMCKeyNotFound(0x84) fKeyHashTable=0x0
    3. SMC: :smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap ==NULL - fall back to old SMC mode
    4. WARNING - ACPI_SMCCtrlLoop: :initCPUCtrlLoop - no sub-config match for MacBookPro4,1 with 8 p-states, using default stepper instead
    5. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key MOTP (kSMCKeyNotFound)
    6. SMC: :smcReadKeyAction ERROR: smcReadData8 failed for key BEMB (kSMCKeyNotFound)
I was hoping that someone could read my log to ascertain wether or not they see a problem that stands out.  I was also hoping that someone could tell me if verbose mode provides any information that may be wrong with my computer.  I just hope that someone can give me some insight as to what may be wrong with my computer.  If it is the hard drive I will easily replace it, but I want to make sure that is the problem first before I waste money on a hard drive or anything else.  Please let me know if anyone requires any other information from me.
    Thank you!

I had already written a book and I did not want to bombard people with more information, but in my previous research I did come across the major issues with the NVIDIA card.  I also was well aware that Apple offered a replacement program that ended in December of 2012.  I was going to add that in my original post, but I discounted that theory because I put my faith in the so called "Apple Genius" when I made my second trip to the Apple Store.  I brought the NVIDIA card issue to his attention and asked him if he thought that may be the problem, but he said no.  He said if it was the NVIDIA card that the screen would be completely black and there would be no startup chime.  When I experienced the screen issues I thought it was a problem with the NVIDIA card or the logic board.  I asked myself, how can a flawed hard drive cause the screen to act funny.
nbar and Rick Warren, I thank you both for your help and insight; people like you are the real "Apple Geniuses."  I was hoping there was a way I could wipe the hard drive before I dumped the computer or attempted to sell it.  I guess I will look into purchasing a new machine when I have the funds.  Again...thank you both!

  • What is "hold down the option key" to get toolbar back?

I lost the toolbar and had instruction to reset tool bars and controls for windows. I was told to hold down the option key. What is option key?

Reference to the option key was found in the instructions to Reset toolbars and controls from support Mozilla.
Thank you for the info. Pressing the alt key does produce the tool bar temporarily. I can use bookmarks if I act quickly before the toolbar disappears. With your info I will go back and try to get the toolbar back permanently.

  • I keep getting a black screen that says hold down the restart button

I keep getting a black screen that says to restart my Mac G4 1.4 Ghz. I'm using OSX 10.4.2 The black screen tells me to hold down the restart button. Anyway pressing the start button doesn't do anything. No response using the button on the front of the Mac either. This just started today. I end up having to unplug the Mac. If I start it with the option key held down and choose my OSX disk, the one I normally use it real let me log in as usual. I've repaired disk permissions. Came back to it again a few hours later started the system up it did the same thing.
Does anybody know what's going on? What this behaviour means?

Hi, David. Welcome to the Discussions.
You are describing this message, which indicates a kernel panic.
See my "Resolving Kernel Panics" FAQ. This FAQ includes step-by-step instructions for identifying and resolving some of the most common causes of kernel panics. The FAQ is a roadmap: start at the beginning and work systematically through the end, i.e. the "If all else fails..." section.

  • Help! Illustrator duplicates everything on drag, as if I'm holding down the Option key.

I have never had this problem before. Whenever I drag an object, it automatically duplicates the object as if I am holding down the Option key. I can move objects with the arrow keys, but if I drag anything with the mouse, it automatically duplicates it.
Please help as this is impossible to work with. I've restarted the coputer as well as Illustrator multiple times. The issue does not happen in InDesign or Photoshop. Just Illustrator. I'm runnin Mac OSX 10.6.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for your remply emil! It happens when I create a new document with new objects, and it also happens on already existing documents and objects. Yes, the cursor swithces to the double arrows as if I was holding down the Option key. Nothing wrong with the key itself. IT's not stuck or anything.

  • I've just bought Photoshop CC and the spacebar shortcut for the hand tool isn't working?

I've googled solutions for the problem and most of them say that I need to close down the other programmes I have open, as well as photoshop, and then restart the programme so I tried this and nothing seems to work. The hand tool by itself works but I much prefer using the spacebar shortcut as I need to work fast and it's much easier.
Is there a way I need to activate the spacebar shortcut seeing as I bought the software this morning?
    Thanks

I had this same issue and a restart would NOT fix the problem, neither would reseting the prefs, or any of the other solutions mentioned in this post.  I discovered the problem to be the Terminal application was automatically opening on login, which had the "Secure Keyboard Entry" option enabled. (Terminal menu item->Secure Keyboard Entry (check marked))  If I quit Terminal without disabling "Secure Keyboard Entry", the spacebar in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop would work as expected.  Although, if I restarted with Terminal still loading automatically with "Secure Keyboard Entry" enabled then the spacebar would NOT work until I quit the Terminal app.  The problem is that when the computer logs into the user account and starts the Terminal app it hides the keyboard entry from other applications.  Somehow Adobe products are now sensitive to this and the spacebar stops working as is should.  So, the solution is to either make sure Terminal is not to load automatically at login, or disable the "Secure Keyboard Entry" option in Terminal and only enable it as needed.  Be sure to disable it when your are no longer using the terminal.  I have never seen this before and have been using Adobe products on OS X since its release, but I have not always used the Terminal as I do now in such a secure way.  Thanks again governments and criminals for even further complicating our lives!
    -Cheers

  • How do I set the shortcut to space bar for the hand tool in illustrator cc?

How do I set the shortcut to space bar for the hand tool in illustrator cc?

Thanks Larry, Mavericks OS. I managed to fix it by quitting Illustrator and reopening it. I have no idea why there was a problem in the first place, it just stopped working with the space bar shortcut and replaced it with a random alphabet.

  • Ps keeps crashing after shortcuts stop working and image get screwed up when using the hand tool

Hi, ive been having problems with Photoshop Cs4 for a while.
I work with big photo files and when i have alot of layers and use the hand tool to move throughout the image this happens:
    http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l114/cogubr/Screenshot2010-04-27at42352PM.png
Alot of times PS shortcut's stop working and eventually PS crashes.
    I have an 27 imac 3.33 GHZ Core Duo/8GB DDR3/256MB ATI Radeon HD 4670
When im using photoshop, even if i have other softwares open at the same time I still have 5gb of ram available.
    Any suggestions to solve this?

I tried everything and the issues are still there.

  • Is there a faster way to add repeated text besides the hand tool?

Every day I receive multiple documents to edit and on each and every one, there is one page where I have to enter the date 3 times. The file doesn't originate with me so I can't do the javascript thing others have talked about. I just go to tools, add text (the date) and then use the hand tool to copy/paste it. However,  since the hand tool for some reason just dumps it into the middle of the screen and I have to drag it over to the area I need it, I've found it faster just to keep clicking and typing in the date I need.
Every time I do this I keep thinking, "there's got to be a better way". Is there?
    Using Adobe Acrobat Pro

There is no shortcut for this.
A faster way could be to click and paste instead of paste and drag.
    1. Right click on the page and select 'Add Text'
    2. Click where you want to type.
    3. Paste (Ctrl/Cmd + V)

  • Is there a shortcut for compiling in the procedure editor e. g. F9

    Hi,
Is there a shortcut for compiling in the procedure editor e. g. F9 like in the SQL-Worksheet? I can't find anything about shortcuts in the help.
    Regards, Juergen

When I try to open a procedure saved in a text file with .sql extension, the editor does not show the options those are available when I open directly from the database e.q Collapsible option at the side of evert proceure/function, IF statements and LOOPing constructs.
Am I missing something or the feature isn't there yet.
    Regards
    Ray

  • Is there a shortcut for the address bar?

    Not like
CTRL+K for the search bar then Shift+Tab.
    or
F6 then Tab (and another Tab in some cases)
If there is shortcut for the address bar, then why isn't it listed here:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Keyboard%20shortcuts?as=aaq
If there are no shortcut, does anyone know the reason why? For me it would be the most used shortcut by far.

''Is there a shortcut for the address bar?''
    "Ctrl+L" for the Location bar.

  • Mapping the hand tool to a mouse button

I know you can use the tab key to switch between tools, but what I'd really like is to map the hand tool to the middle mouse button.  When I press the middle mouse button, I want the hand tool to pop up and grab the diagram so I can drag it around the screen and quickly get to where I want to be.  Ctrl-shift is a shortcut to the hand tool, but then I have to go through the bother of sitting up straight and lifting my chin off my left hand.
Is there a way to get anything like this working?  I even went so far as to go into the Intellimouse driver software and set application specific settings for Labview, mapping the middle mouse button to ctrl-shift.  Didn't work.

    >> If this is something you would like to see in future releases of LabVIEW please post in the feature request link above
Is the PSC still a preferred method to suggest a feature for the LabVIEW IDE? Does the Idea Exchange supercede the PSC, or do they each serve a distinct purpose?

Classes. It doesn't seem very DRY to have a class on my server
representing the data model and then have to recreate that class
and all its properties in my Flex app.
Are there any shortcuts for creating client side VOs from
    server side data?
I was thinking about declaring an empty VO class in Flex, and
then dynamically assigning/casting my Proxy object to that class.
It seems like that approach may cause problems for the Flex
    compiler though.
    Any hints?
    Thanks!

absolutely hate having to create and maintain two sets of VO (aka
data transfer - DTO) object for Java and Flex.
One thing that has helped me in that area is a free tool from
    Farata Systems called
DTO2Fx. If you're using Java and Eclipse, it's a great time saver.
You simply install a (very lightweight) Eclipse plugin, add a
single annotation to your Java VO classes, and it automatically
generates your Flex VOs. It even creates a base and extended
version of each VO on the AS3 side so you can add code to the
extended VO without fear of having your changes overwritten when it
    regenerates your Flex VOs.
    Here's a like to thier
    PDF that
gives instructions and a download link. I had it up and running in
my application in less than 30 minutes!
I'm using Python/Django serverside (PYAMF is my AMF
    serializer).
