Is there a shortcut to scroll through documents?

CS 5 Mac OSX 10.5.8
I need to have several documents open at once. Is there a keyboard shortcut to switch from one document to another without having to find the tab or use the flyout? It would really simplify things for me!
Thanks in advance!

Command + ~ [tilde] switches between documents in the same application. The tilde key is above the Tab key on your keyboard.

  • Why can't I scroll through documents in my book file?

I am new to Framemaker. I am working on book building. I know that once documents are part of a .book file that I should be able to scroll through from one document in the book to another document.  I have not been able to do that in my .book files. I have sent the .book file to my instructor and he is able to, but I can't. ???  Anyone know why would that be? I am using Framemaker 10 in Windows 7. Thanks in advance!

I have tried it when the .fm files are all open. I have also tried it by double clicking on a file in the book window and in the file that opens, I start scrolling down to the end. My understanding is that initially, Frame asks you whether to open the next file. But it does not for me. I can only scroll through that one file.
I don't have FrameMaker available to test, but IIRC, you need to scrill down with arrow keys, not drag through text or with the scroll bar. I'm not sure that keyboard shortcuts like tapping and letting-go Esc p n (for page next) in sequence works.

  • How can I stop the screen movin so I can scroll through document?

I frequently access webpages that I need to scroll through.  The page just rolls and doesn't allow me to scroll. Is there a way round this?

Drag with your finger to start and stop the page, i.e. use your finger to start/stop.

  • Reader X seizes when scrolling through document

    Good afternoon all.
    I'm running a GW-M285, with 4gb ram, a 500gb hdd, and Win7Ult.
    It's the Intel T5500, 1.67ghz processor.
I have been noticing lately when working with pdf files that the new Acrobat X reader seizes, and stops responding. In checking the system resources I see nothing that would denote the system being overloaded.
Has anyone else had this kind of issue before?

    Ok...
April 17, 2012.... this is still not resolved.
I'd posted on another forum--- MS-Answers-- and they said to uninstall the existing progam, download a fresh one, and install the new download.
I've done this and it still does not solve my issue.
I realize this is a free program, and we should just be grateful they offer the reader for free, but this is really frustrating.
I'll be pulling pages down/up, and without warning the window just seizes. Or, the scroll operation will simply not work. I then get a program not responding warning.
Does everyone's silence on this mean that you truly do not care, and have no intention of resolving this?
I am flabberghasted that no one else has had this issue. Or, at least is not talking about it.
I've been using Reader since I first learned about it way back in version 2 or 3. I never had this problem before. And my systems were a lot older, and more basic than this model I'm using now.
It doesn't even happen on my old Mac OSX10.4.11, G-4.
Come on...... This is really frustrating, and no matter what I have done so far-- nothing is working.
I suppose one question that comes to mind is this new- document preparation utility that appears upon opening a document-- each and every single time a document is opened. Regardless of how many times the same document is opened.
Is it plausible that this is what's causing it?

  • Scroll Through Emojis

My daughter, using an iPhone 5c, is reveling in her ability to scroll (up and down) through the list of emojis but for whatever reason my list is still in swipe left-to-right mode.
I'm running the latest version of iOS (8.1.3) but I'm not seeing the same thing. More frustrating than a functional issue but kind of maddening that I don't have it.
    Anyone else seen this?

    Excuse me
I have bought a pen tablet and it has the kapability of scrolling through layers.
It works in photoshop but in illustrator it doesn't work.
after I asked about this problem from related technical support, they proposed me setting it with related shortcut.
so I am looking for appropriate function or shortcut for scrolling through layers.

  • ICal problem scrolling through all-day events

Not quite sure how to describe this but making easy to understand.
I organise my daily events using iCal on my mac and sync them to my iphone running the latest iphone updated software. I place all my things to do as an all-day event and at present has 21 events in there.
The phone scrolls through events no problem when I don't have a lot of events in the all-day event part but when I try to look at for example todays events with 21 items at the all-day part at the top it won't let me scroll and only shows 14 events instead of the 21?
    Any ideas?

This appeared to be a timezone issue, when daylight savings time came around the iPod and iCal dates synchronized correctly.

thank you for the info... however I'm done buying pdf readers.... I've got three now, that should suffice.
I don't think there's a problem such as you mentioned because the pages are all similar : text and drawings. Some of the pages with drawings work, other similar pages don't.
I converted with Calibre to epub format and this seems to work !!!
    So good so far...
Now I need to find a conversion to pdf to allow me to use goodreader or iannotate.
Basically... the text is ok, because a conversion allows reading. So a shortcoming by Apple in my opinion. Again, all pdf's should be readable on such an expensive tool !!!

  • Acrobat Pro 9.0 freezes when viewing/scrolling through the table of contents of a document

I am hoping someone can help me or has experienced the same problem I'm about to describe. I belong to the technical publications group of a fairly large company and I review a lot of PDF documents. I just installed Acrobat 9.0.0 (via CS4 Design Standard) and I've noticed on larger documents where there's a full page or several pages worth of Table of Contents, Acrobat 9.0.0 seems to freeze up when I begin scrolling through the TOC. For example, if I want to use the Text Edit tools or use a sticky note, when I press on an icon, Acrobat will freeze for a good 10 seconds, then will allow you to press the icon. It tends to freeze each time I want to make my next edit or even pressing the up/down arrow buttons to go to the next page. Once I get through the TOC pages, Acrobat seems to function normally--no freezes.
Has anyone experienced this? Would appreciate any kind of advice on how to fix--perhaps there's a patch or update?
I didn't experience any of this using Acrobat 8.0--I never had any real problems with Acrobat until 9.0.0.

Your issue may not be related to a difference between v8 and 9.
I have not had this problem on my computers, but a coworker had this issue. For many documents that others were able to open and scroll through without issue, his computer was freezing and unfreezing.  IT determined his graphics capabilities were not able to keep up with the requirements of working with larger documents and gave his computer a RAM upgrade and a new graphics card. Particularly during scrolling, higher demands are made on the computer to graphically render and re-render page content. Documents giving him problems before became a non-issue.
A new graphics card is obviously a $$$ solution, but you might want to check to see if your RAM meets the minimum requirements and check to see if there are any program updates (Help > Check for Updates).
I have had an issue of pdfs freezing, but not specifically in the table of contents areas. If your document has pages with images that have an unusually high number of layers, it may affect the ability to work effectively in the document.

  • Whenever I open a pdf document in a tab, it takes away my ability to scroll through websites open on other tabs. How do I fix this?

I have use a laptop with a mouse, and I have the touch pad enabled. When I have just one PDF open the touch pad will scroll through only the PDF while the mouse wheel will still scroll through websites in other tabs. However if I open a second PDF the mouse wheel will cease to scroll through other sites and only work in that document. I have the latest version of adobe reader as the default PDF viewer. Also, if I leave a PDF document open when I leave the computer my stumbleupon toolbar will have switched places with my bookmarks toolbar when I come back; restarting Firefox always fixes this, though.

I already found the Javascript solution in Acrobat... It works more or less (layout problems), but it's impossible to do one by one as I have many links in my doc...
I don't understand why it's not possible to make it directly with InDesign before exporting it in pdf or while exporting it. There should be an option in the "new hyperlink" dialog box or in the pdf parameters.
    Does someone have another idea?

  • How do I change the keyboard shortcut for Cycle through open documents in PS CC for Mac?

Sorry to bug the community with such a seemingly inconsequential task, but I am seriously tired of using the awkward default keyboard shortcut for cycling through open docs in PS.  I'd like to change it to what I am used in in Chrome, which is Cmd+Option+[left] or {right} arrow keys.  I noticed this is not a command listed in the in keyboard shortcuts, for whatever reason.  Where on Earth can I change this?
If it is not possible to do it by default, is there a plug-in or a change to the code that will allow this basic functionality?
    Thanks again guys and gals!

As far as I know, you can't. It's "hard wired" in.  Not even Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts is allowed  to change it.
However I did find this tip:
Anyway i never found tabs in Adobe application useful, instead i prefer the old school method: simply switch off tabs feature via illustrator/ preferences/ user interface/ open documents as tabs. Then in Mac preferences panel, under keyboard, just search for the “focus on next application window” field (under menu, keyboard and text) and assign a shortcut if the default option doesn't fit you. And there is now you can easily switch between open documents!.
The best part of this is that it can be used in all mac applications, not only Adobe ones. And remember, if you want this working on Indesign, Photoshop, etc be aware of first switch off the tab features so that the system could “see” multiple documents opened not only one single tabbed document.

  • If PDF document is open in any TAB, scrolling through touch pad in other TABs is disabled?

I have ACER Aspire 5740G, Firefox 5.0, Windows 7 Ultimate (X32), Adobe Acrobat X Pro. If some online "pdf" document is open in any of the TABs, The scrolling through touch pad in other tabs stop working however it remain active in the PDF document. After closing the pdf tab the scrolling starts to work normal.

I have the same problem and have had it since Firefox 5. I now have Firefox 6.0.2 and still have the problem.
    Windows 7 x64, Synaptics Touchpad V7.2
If an Adobe PDF is open in a tab, touchpad scrolling only works in that tab. If any other tabs are open and user attempts to scroll, nothing will happen in the non-pdf tab, but the pdf will be scrolling. This can be very annoying because if you forget there is a pdf open and try to scroll, you will scroll the pdf out of place.

  • When I open pages it scrolls through various numbers of blank pages with a line at the side, then stops at a document, but usually an old document. I have to  go to "open recent" to get on the page I want.

    Hi
When I open Pages it scrolls through numerouss blank pages with a line at the side 1st, then settles on an old saved pages document.I then have to go to "open recent" to select the one I want. Why?

    No
It's the 1st version of Pages I've had on my computer.
Can't delete them as they scroll through them at a rapid pace. The longer I've had the problem the more blank pages it scrolls through.

  • Is there a way to prevent a form user from paging up and down or scrolling through a form?

I'm using Livecycle Designer 8.0.  I'm working on a registration form (it's set up like a survey).  As users respond to questions, they will be sent to the appropriate next page in the form.  In doing so, they will bypass certain pages.  However, if users decide to scroll through the document, or page up or down, it will take them to pages that will not be appropriate given their initial responses.  In some cases, it will appear that they are responding to the same question.
This was asked before and the answer seemed to be that this is not possible to do.  However, it's been a year or two since then.  It is my hope that the version I'm using now allows this.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

In this case, you do not want someone (whoever they are DBA etc) to connect as that
particuler user to change the password.Yes, but I wouldn't expect the users to[i] know that password. The connnect would be handled automatically, behind the scenes.
The clear implication of the OP's question and response was that users would not be allowed to change their own passwords. I'm guessing this is in response to a policy that says users mustn't have simple passwords like 123abc or mom. In such a scenario a better approach would be to apply regexp to a user's password to ensure it contains a mix of letters, numbers, punctuation, etc to achieve the desired level of complexity.
So questions, should not be regarded as daft Agreed, but the same is unfortunately not always true of business decisions. As the OP has told us not to ask we cannot know why they want to do this. Personally, I think a user's individual password should always be their responsibility; anything else strikes me as insecure. YMMV.

  • Issue when scrolling a pdf - There was a problem reading this document (135)

This is when the PDF is created and rendered/previewed from Acrobat Reader and the issue is there for latest acrobat version too.
When you open the PDF in Acrobat Reader and then when you scroll it and if you have more that one page in the PDF, it gives an error saying "There was a problem reading this document (135)".
Is this a known issue in Acobat? Any resolution? Reinstalling acrobat version didn't help.
    Thank you in advance...!

    Hi Manulak_Tech,
As you are able to view PDF I had provided, the issue seems to be PDF specific.
So when you scroll the PDF and reach to a page where Adobe Reader cannot read it, the error comes. I am sure the problem lies the way PDF was created. Can you describe how the PDF was created?
