Is there a sleep/lock button replacement app in itunes app store?

My iphones sleep/lock button is broken. Is there an app in itunes app store that allowes you to lock your iphone through it ?

Please check "My Music Timer" app.
"My Music Timer" can stop iTunes Radio or spotify playing music.

  • Sleep/Lock button iPhone 4

Bought the iPhone 4 like a month ago.
Great device but I just got this minor issue.
Been using the APPLE BUMPER on it and since a day or two the sleep/lock button has been stuck. I need to push it REALLY hard and then it'll work.
Already called my service provider (since Apple doesn't have any support overhere) and they told me that it's my own fault and they can fix it for 300 $ (that's 215 euro's for JUST A SLEEP/LOCK button).
Does anyone else had this problem also and what can I do about it?

See thread 2713539. You're by no means alone. Mine did it after about 7 months. It's not your fault, it's a fault with the iphone4 that Apple need to address and help their owners with. It's disgusting that owners are being charged for repairs. My understanding is that if it's within warranty, you can take it to an Apple Centre and it will be replaced with a refurbished unit immediately as there is no quick repair for this common design/manufacturing defect. I love my iphone but am not happy that outside warranty it seems you will be lucky if Apple don't just fob you off and make you pay for a hardware problem they know about but won't take liability for. I guess they're not making enough money.

  • IPhone 3G S sleep/lock button not working

ok it doesnt redspond to anything. ive tried all kinds of restarts and restores and nothing works. i am getting a replacement from my retail store but i'm wondering if there is anything i can do to fix it.

Hi Aliassa, I'm having the same problem: no response from my sleep/lock button on my 3G.
I went to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and they use a little lighted eye scope (like what an ear doctor would use) to look into the headphone port. If the ring down in there is pink (I believe), then they tell you that your iPhone has gotten wet before and then they refuse to help you any further.
This is frustrating as I know why my port's wetness indicator was pink: because I had to clean my headphone port with a touch of windex and a q-tip when my iPhone stopped recognizing that I had unplugged my headphones due to fuzz and crud buildup.
So by fixing that problem, I "voided" whatever help the Apple Store may have given me.
    All together that blowz.
I wish I could get normal phone insurance on the iPhone. As far as I know I can't and I'll need to wait till December to get the new iPhone that's subsidized.
Really annoying since, there's no way to reset my phone now other than letting the battery wind down. Also, 'buttons' get hit when I can't wait the minimum of a minute for it to go to the lock screen automatically when I put it in my pocket.
My next step is to try to repair it myself by opening it up and cleaning or replacing the button.
    Wish me luck!
If it works I'll post back here.
    Good luck to you too.

  • How to go about Iphone5 sleep/wake button replacement program in Saudi Arabia

The sleep/wake button of my iphone5 doesn't work. Aware of the replacement program but literally no help from the service provider in KSA. It's been 4 months since my warranty expired. Any ideas anyone?

My iPhone 5 falls under both Battery and Sleep/Wake button replacement program. It was given to me as a gift by somebody and I found out that the country of purchase was US. Most of the time we can get Apple product in the market that originally purchased in the US and then brought and sold to different countries. When I contacted Apple Technical support for my replacement, I was told that I need to send my phone to US for this repair. I am currently in United Arab Emirates and don't know many people in US whom I can send the phone to take it to the Apple Store for repair. Since Apple has authorized service providers and Store in my country of residence, can you please provide the solution in this regard that is much more convenient than sending the phone to US?
Will await a simpler solution and reply.

You were given the solution already by Apple, why do you feel you need to ask again?
    There are no international warranty.
Your two options 1. send it to someone in the U.S.  2. fly to the U.S.  that is all.

  • IPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program

Hi, I am from the UAE and I'm new here.
Was hoping to get some advice on how to proceed with the lock button replacement program.
I got the phone as a gift, so I don't know where it was bought from. (There are no Apple stores in the UAE)
My concern is whether this replacement program is still valid if your warranty is expired.
I put in my serial key on the website and it said that my phone was eligible for the replacement.
However, when I called Apple in the UAE they redirected me to one of their trusted agents. When I called the agent they took down my serial number to check if my device was eligible for the replacement program. After having checked that, I was told that due to my warranty having expired they couldn't do the repair for me. The agent said that they could offer me a replacement where I would have to pay AED 1,600 (USD 435.61) and they would provide me with a new iPhone 5 with the same specifications as my current one.
Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Yes.
    From Apple:
"The program covers iPhone 5 models for 2 years after the first retail sale of the unit."

  • IPhone 5 sleep/wake button replacement programme.

Just wondering if anyone ha had difficulty getting their sleep/wake button replaced under the current programme.
Currently Apple are refusing to repace my button due to the fact their is cosmetic damage to my iPhone (the phone is in perfect working order otherwise apart from the sleep/wake button)
Apple claim the button can only be fixed once I've paid for the cosmetic damage to be repiared at over €210. I've said i'm fine to recieve my phone back with the same scratches at I sent it out with but they won't offer me the option as they may need to replace the entire phone, however this isn't my problem.
Apple only say the phone needs to be in working order to be eligbible which it is.

I've just been to the Apple Store Genius Bar with the same issue.  Although there's a small scratch on the corner they classed it as normal wear and tear and it's now been sent off to Holland (!?) for a repair.  The process was quite long, involving the iPhone being wiped and sent through diagnostic checks (to make sure that the phone didn't have any other problems and to verify ownership I assume) but they gave me a loan phone and it's now sent off - turnaround is about a week.
It does seem odd if minor cosmetic damage voids the replacement programme - the only thing I can think of is if it was a ding or dent then that's evidence of being dropped - but like the situation with over-sensitive moisture detectors a few years back it does feel like it's Apple trying to wriggle out of a warranty repair (or in this case a recall issue) by applying the letter of the law rather than common sense.
Just one further issue was that when I checked my serial number at home against the 'replacement programme' https://ssl.apple.com/support/iphone5-sleepwakebutton/ my phone came up as "not eligible" but when the genius bar entered it in their mac-book it said it was eligible!  Probably just me entering the serial number wrong so I don't know for sure.

  • Where can I get my iPhone 5 sleep/wake button replaced in Jordan?

    Hello,
I bought my iPhone 5 factory unlocked here in Jordan and a while ago I started having problems with the sleep/wake button so I went to Apple's website and found out about the replacement program and when I entered my iPhone's serial number I get this:
"The iPhone 5 serial number you entered is eligible for this program. Please follow the instructions below to have your sleep/wake button replaced."
BUT there is no Apple Retail Store anywhere in Jordan ?? So where can I get my iPhone fixed??

    Hi Dema.
There is an Authorised Apple Retailer in Jordan, it's just that it isn't that well known. I've just had my iPhone 5 replaced, free of charge, even though I'd bought it from Saudi Arabia. The store's called iSystem, it's at the end of Al Wakalat Street. Take a U-turn just before the 7th circle on your way from the 6th circle, then take your first right, then another right. There should be a complex on your right. Climb down the stairs and you're there. They have excellent service, although it took 3 weeks for them to get my phone replaced.
    Good luck.

what sould ı do to change my iphone 5 in turkey

    Hi Alper Kenber,
I’m sorry to hear your iPhone is having an issue with the sleep/wake button. In order to get started on the repair you will need to use the form on this page -
iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program - Apple Support
    https://ssl.apple.com/support/iphone5-sleepwakebutton/
You should note what it states near the bottom -
Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country of purchase.
So it is possible that you may have to return the iPhone to the United States in order to get it repaired.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • Sleep/lock button to be stuck

Suddenly last night iphone 4 sleep lock button is stuck in down positon.  What might cause this and how do we fix it?

You have a hardware issue with the phone,  Any number of things might have caused it; most likely a fall.  In any case, you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for exchange.  If you're under warranty, it will be exchanged free of charge.  If not, you will pay $149 for an out of warranty exchange.
Alternatively, if you're not under warranty, you can bring your phone in to a 3rd party repair shop.

  • Submit their phone to apple store for sleep/wake button replacement?

who have submit their phone to apple store for sleep/wake button replacement? share please

Hi  I just did it for mine today (in the UK) in the Genius Bar at our local Apple Store.
The process was quite long, involving the iPhone being wiped and sent through diagnostic checks (to make sure that the phone didn't have any other problems and to verify ownership I assume) but they gave me a loan phone and it's now sent off - turnaround is about a week.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Probably not covered but only Apple can tell you after they look at it.

my ipod is refuseing to download apps for no apparent reason restrictions are off latest ios is on there but i cant press the buy/download button in app store

    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Stoe and sign out and then sign back in
    - Power off and then back on the router.
    - Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
Could just be an Apple problem. So far I have seen another post today with same problem.

Sleep/lock button wont work on ipod touch 2g. what can i do??

Try to connect in recovery mode and set it up again "as new ipod" : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
If this does not work, your sleep button might be damaged and you'll have to get it serviced.
Setting up as new device and backing up the data before is also covered here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
