Is there a spam filter for email?

Getting dozens of spam emails on iPad and iPhone each day.   Is there a filter available?

Hi everyone
It's been awhile since I last visited.  Good to be back.  I have a problem with spam on my @me.com account, is there any way to convert this into an @icloud.com account so I can relieve myself of this problem.  As we speak I am staring at 996 emails with the vast majority of them being spam(I really hate my brother!).  I would hate to lose all my purchased content because of this problem.  If Apple would allow me to change my primary Apple ID email account I could resolve it that way as well.  On the AppleID site you only get options to add alternate email addresses.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Thanks

  • Is there a Spam filter for Mail? In iOS 5?

I haven't seen this question posted for a couple of years, so I'm curious if iOS 4 has addressed my concern. Can Mail for iPod Touch 4th Generation be set up with some sort of spam filter? I have very good filters associated with my various email accounts at their servers (Gmail, GoDaddy, Earthlink) but all of these accounts pass the spam through to my iPod.
Will this be fixed in iOS 5?
And also ... why do some messages not offer the "Trash Can" icon, but only the multiple button option to "Move to>Trash"?
    Thanks

No. iOS5 isn't out yet. We don't know what's in it. But likely there isn't.

  • Spam filter for email server

Depends on what you want to pay. There are various ways of doing this.
    1. block at your firewall. I have a watchguard and this acts as my first line of defense.
    2. Install an app on your mail server - I have Symantic for Exchange as my second line
but then you can go and signup to outside organisations such as messagelabs to handle all your filtering for you.

    hi all,
im running postfix+dovecot for an email server and i want a spam filter to go infront of postfix so it can filter out spam before it gets anywhere near my email server
also i imagine with spam filters you can set your own spam policies and allow good senders and block bad senders
    many thanks

    Hi there,
I have SBS 2008, and I have recently installed Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange  version 7.5 but when I take a look on Windows SBS Console under Security, it shows "Spam Protection for Email Critical Exchange Server 2007" However,
when I open the SMSME it shows running well with no problem..
    Any Suggestions???
    Thanks

    Hi,
Would you please let me confirm whether all functions (which are related to Exchange Server) run as normal? Just
a confirmation, thanks for your understanding.
    Please run
SBS BPA and check if find relevant issues. In addition, please refer to GaryD9’s suggestion in following thread and check if can help you.

  • Can I set up a spam filter for my iPad like I have on my Mac?

Can I set up a spam filter for my iPad like I have on my Mac?

The Mac OS X Mail application has a "Junk" function that works locally, on the Mac, and just puts emails from previously designated "junk" addresses into a separete folder, so you don't have to wade thru all that spam in your Inbox. It's a very elegant and simple, local solution, that I dearly miss on iOS.
I did submit a request for it at Apple Feedback page.

  • The Best Spam Filter for Mail

Here is the best smap filter for mail:
    http://c-command.com/spamsieve/
I don't know why Apple don't buy that company and include the spam filter on mail, that would be great because spam is getting worst every day, and people than don't buy this type of spam filters need to delete a lot of spam mails every day.

The Junk Mail filter included with the Mail.app has always worked very well for me, and IMO, a good deal of the responsibility for filtering spam in the first place and where it arrives initially, lies with the email account provider for an email account - with adequate filtering performed at the incoming mail server.
This and taking some precautions with an email address shouldn't require having to purchase a spam filter from a 3rd party for the email client used to access an account.

  • Is there anti-spam software for Ipad2?

I have anti-spam software on my laptop and desk top.  But, seemingly, there is no anti-spam software for my iPad and/or iPhone.
    Or is there?

You don't need such software, thus none is available.

  • Spam blocking for email accounts

Anyone know how to block spam ads from email accounts?  I have both work and personal email accounts--spam only coming in on on personal.  I've installed Lookout Mobile Security, but doesn't stop the 7-10 product ads per day from coming into my inbox.  Verizon tech assistance was courteous and helpful, but wrong.  They're the ones who told me to install Lookout Mobile Security. It may work for antivirus, but doesn't stop spam.

  • Is there a filter for emails

I am receiving around 150 junk emails on my iphone...how do i stop it?

I just tested the iCloud "rules" feature and yes, I can set up a rule in iCloud's Mail to intercept some mail and send it to a folder, and it works.
Here's the hitch, though. iCloud has had major problems with its push implementation, and one hitch is that when mail is sent to a folder, it is not pushed to the iPhone. It is pushed to the Mail client on the Mac, but not to Mail on the iPhone. You have to go to the folder manually on the iPhone and open it, and then it updates and shows whatever was sent. For Junk Mail that might actually be just fine, but for other mail sorting it is aggravating.

  • Spam Filter for iPad?

Is there a way to filter the iPad Mail app for spam?

Selecting an email for deletion is not the equivalent to opening the email.
You can select an email for deletion without opening the email.
You can also turn Load Remote Images off. When remote images are rendered from a server when opening an email is how an email address is determined to be known good by a spammer.

  • Spam blocker for email

I have a spam blocker on my Microsoft laptop but the spam still ends up on my Ipad. Is there an app for spam blocking?

You'll need to check with your email provider about what server-side spam blocking they offer. I use Gmail and rarely see any spam.

  • SPAM Filter for iPod Touch

I searched and couldn't find the exact same issue...
...I have the latest iPod Touch (version 5.0.1) with an IMAP mail account . At home I use Apple's Mail program, with a great piece of software called SpamSieve that filters the junk that keeps piling up in BIG numbers every day.  Apple's tech support is telling me my iPod is retrieving my emails from my ISP's server, not from my Mac's Mail program, which I hoped (so the filtering could have been done before emails are forwarded to my iPod).
...So I need to find a similar solution for my iPod.  I guess this is not built into the iPod's OS, and I'd rather find an application for it...
I found one called SpamDrain which seems like one of those free apps. Anyone experiencing it, or other apps to do a good filtering job?
    Thanks....

Maybe it's because the games are made to utilize the click wheel? There aren't any games for the iPhone either right?

  • Spam blockers for email addresses?

Can anyone tell me what they use to block the bots from picking up email addresses that I'd like to add to a site?  I can't seem to find an Extension that is new enough for CS5.  I'm not a coding person, or I'd do it that way.
    Thanks!
