Is there a speed  comparison between xpath query

Is there a paper whit speed comparison between xpath query on XML, stored with all oracle's techniques?
Thank you and sorry for my english

Not currently. Since there are no industry standards for XML benchmarks that are accepted by all major vendors Oracle policy prevents us from publishing numbers. However if you have examples of what you are looking for I can give guidance.

  • Speed Comparison between Quadro FX 5800, 4800, 3800

    Question: Speed Comparison between Quadro FX 5800, 4800, 3800
    Both Adobe and Nvidia technical support said they do not have speed comparison benchmarks on the same Windows 7, 64 bit computer for both rendering and encoding between the Quadro FX 5800, 4800, and 3800. Does anyone know of such speed comparisons. Thanks in advance.

    I just had a new computer built using a 6 core AMD processor and 16 gb Ram, cs5, etc.  Is it possible for me to apply your benchmark and how would I do it?
    Thanks,

  • Is there much speed difference between the iMacs?

    Just wondering, if there is any noticeable performance difference between the 1.83 - the 2.0 and the 2.16?
    I'd be surprised to learn that there was (and also, keenly interested to learn).
    My experience is that a dual processor is noticeably more capable than a single processor (regardless of minor increments at the end of the processor number).
    Anyone?

    You are right that it is more about futher differentiating the models than anything else. The speed difference is negligible, but a nice plus is you choose a larger display. Typically you also get a larger standard HD and maybe a better video card and if you add all those things up, the price difference is worth it.

  • XPath Query Solved

    JDev Team,
    Is there a way to execute XPath Query on an XML document? In version 10.1.3 there was a extension through to achieve this. Do we have anything similar in TP4? If not, can we expect something for the production release? Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Bala.

    Please ignore my previous post. I found the option under the search menu.

  • Speed comparison iPhone 3GS and 4?

    Hi,
    I am developing a game using Air 2.7 but I only have an iPad 1 to test it on. The speed is really good (a steady 60fps) but I'm a bit curious how fast it will run on 3GS.
    Have you guys done any speed comparisons between iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4?
    I guess the speed on iPhone 4 is about the same as iPad 1?
    Thanks,
    /Andreas

    I have tested the same vector animations on iPhone 4, iPad 2, and iPhone 3GS. If you have selected to use high resolution, the performance on the 3GS and iPhone4 will be similar, because the iPhone 4 will have to update four times the screen area of the 3GS. The iPad 2 may be slightly faster, and I guess you may be right about the iPad 1 being similar to the iPhone 4. If you use standard resolution, the iPhone 4 may be the fastest of them all.

    Will I notice a difference between a 1.3 and 1.7 Hz MacBook Air?  I multitask with safari with multiple tabs and iTunes and Acrobat and PowerPoint. I'm not a gamer or won't be doing video editing.

    On most things no.  Only 15% average on large app tasks

  • AppleScript speed difference between 10.4 & 10.5

    This post is related to a question I posed in March 2009 (https://discussions.apple.com/message/9226100) regarding the speed difference between AppleScript text handling in OS X 10.5 compared with 10.4.11.
    I have recently written a script to search through a text file which is an xml file exported from WorkGroup Manager. The file, which is approximately 1.8 MB, contains all the user names on the school server (just over 1720 of them), their settings and any other information we have added. After adapting some script ideas (using text delimiters and offsets) which I found on the internet to assist with counting the number of users and searching through the information of each one, one at a time, I have a script which works far in excess of my expectations in terms of speed when run under OS X 10.4, but runs slower than molasses in winter under 10.5.
    The script counts the number of accounts, extracts each user's log-in name and also their actual name (which we have entered under a 'general info' or 'comments' field - I can't remember exactly where, but it is stored in the file), makes up a complete list of all account names (with the actual name, if present) and also makes up a subset of this information into a separate list which contains only the log-in names of those whose actual name has not yet been recorded on the server, then saves both lists to separate text files.
    My original attempts, using some rather clumsy text searching and comparison techniques, took about 1-2 minutes to go through the whole procedure. After some internet searching, head-scratching and a bit more more work, the finished script, when run on my G5 under OS X 10.4.11, takes less than 3 seconds to do all I have described above, including the writing to text files. To say I was pleased would be an understatement!
    Because the school/work environment, where the script would be run, is all OS X 10.5 or higher, I thought I should test it out under at least OS X 10.5. The script was developed on my DP 2.5GHz G5 with 8GB RAM running OS X 10.4.11. Using a fresh, clean installation of 10.5 I ran the script and was extremely disappointed. After letting it run for more than 20 minutes and still not finishing, I force quit AppleScript and reduced the number of accounts in the file. 40 accounts took 3 seconds, 60 accounts took 6 seconds, 80 took 11 seconds, 100 took 19 seconds and 120 took 27 seconds. I eventually let the script run right through - total time taken to process 1720 users was 65 minutes, compared to 3 seconds under 10.4.11!
    Given that it was tested on the same Mac, with the same amount of RAM, using the same script and the same original text file, the only variable left (that I can think of) is the change of OS version - 10.4.11 vs 10.5.
    As was pointed out to me in my previous post, AppleScript in OS X 10.5 handles all text as Unicode and has a greater overhead in processing time as a result. I have implemented the various bits of advice offered by respondents to my original post and changed the way I handled lists, etc. Obviously, if the script works so speedily under 10.4.11, I must have done something right in terms of code optimization/efficiency. It's when that exact same script is run under OS X 10.5 that it slows down incredibly. I even tried it on a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac running 10.5.8 - it still took 40 minutes and Activity Monitor showed CPU usage by Script Editor constantly above 80% (often well above 90%). Saving the script as an application made no difference in the time taken.
    Does anybody have any knowledge about what makes AppleScript Unicode-only text handling so slow? In this case, it is 1300 times slower! Is there any way of coercing/restricting the text handling/parsing to ASCII? If I really have to, I will set up a humble eMac at school with 10.4 on it just to handle large text files quickly with AppleScript, but I would prefer to be able to do it on the normal work Macs which have 10.5 or later on them. As mentioned, under 10.4.11 the script processes the 1.8MB text file with 1720 users and writes results to two files - all within 3 seconds, so I'm not really looking for coding suggestions unless they are directly related to what has changed in AppleScript under OS X 10.5. Without sounding too smug, the script works properly and speedily (at least in 10.4). I really would like to learn about the changes in AppleScript in OS X 10.5 and how to cope with or work around those changes.

    Hi,
    text 3 thru 14 in largeText
    character 3 thru 14 in largeText
    text 3  in largeText
    character 3  in largeText
    These lines will be slow on Leopard
    Getting some text in a variable that contains more than 60000 characters will be slower on Leopard,
    but I don't know why it's slower
    Here a test script.

    tResult
    Here the result on my old G5, 2 x 1.8 GHZ
    Getting text in the variable which contains 1310720 characters, (20 times)  = 50 seconds.
    Getting text in the variable which contains   327680 characters, (20 times)  = 12 seconds.
    Getting text in the variable which contains   163840 characters, (20 times)  =   6 seconds.
    The result on the same machine on Tiger is always less of one second.
    Also, I try with 20 millions characters on Tiger, the result : getting text in the variable which contains 20971520 characters, (20 times)  = 0 seconds.
    The solution ( text item in a list)
    Here the script

  • Please verify core duo vs. core 2 duo speed comparison

    Hi,
    I was looking for RAM to upgrade my MacBook CoreDuo 512mb to 2gb, and found this:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/Reviews/MacBook/Testing/Memory_Benchmarks
    If you go down, there is performance comparisons b/t core duo and core 2 duo, and between different size of rams. I am looking at photoshop result. Notice C2D 1gb is FASTER than CD 2gb.
    Since I will be using Photo Editing Apps. to process RAW files, speed is my primary concern. Could you please verify this data? If this is true, I am going to consider selling my current MB and getting a new one with C2D.
    Thanks!

    Performance comparisons vary from tests to tests. And even if you test the same machine 10 times, you will get 10 different results. But from looking at the data, it seems though that the differences are very minute.
    Selling your CD MB to get a C2D MB would not be a smart investment for that small improvement in performance, but the decision is up to you. If you decide to upgrade since speed is your primary concern, why not opt for Macbook Pro?

  • Questions on the comparison between Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX

    Hi All,
    The link below presents information about Oracle Application Express for Oracle Forms Developers, the table at the end of the page shows a comparison between Oracle Forms and Oracle APEX, all the points of comparisons are clear for me except 3 points which are:
    •Locking, what is meant by locking models?
    •Database Connections, what is meant by Synchronous/Asynchronous connections in Oracle Forms and Oracle Apex?
    •Architecture, what is meant by 2tier and 3 tier connections?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/apex_for_forms.html
    What I need is a simple explanation for these points without deep details.
    Thanks

    Hi
    That is how I understand that document:
    Locking: Forms, by default, locks a row as soon as the user starts modifying the data. That is pessimistic locking. Apex, on other hand (and optionally forms also) do not lock the record, but before applying any changes checks if the data has changed since the user queried it (what for some reason is called optimistic "locking")
    DB connections: I am not sure why they used the terms synchronous/asynchronous, but the difference is that Forms, by default, keeps an permanent DB connection while the user is using the application, while Apex gets a connection from a connection pool every time a page is requested/submitted.
    Architecture: Forms (in its web version at least) has 3 tiers: the browser, the appserver where the forms service runs and the database. As Apex runs inside the database, there are only 2 tiers: the browser and the database (though you still may need an http server in between which serves static content, I don't think it is considered part of the application in this context). If you are talking about client/server forms, then there are only 2 tiers.
    I hope this helps!

  • Performance end to end testing and comparison between MPLS VPN and VPLS VPN

    Hi,
    I am student of MSc Network Security and as for my project which is " Comparison between MPLS L3 VPN and VPLS VPN, performance monitoring by end to end testing " I have heard a lot of buzz about VPLS as becoming NGN, I wanted to exppore that and produce a comparison report of which technology is better. To accomplish this I am using GNS3, with respect to the MPLS L3 VPN lab setup that is not a problem but I am stuck at the VPLS part how to setup that ? I have searched but unable to find any cost effective mean, even it is not possible in the university lab as we dont have 7600 series
    I would appreciate any support, guidence, advice.
    Thanks
    Shahbaz

    Hi Shahbaz,
    I am not completely sure I understand your request.
    MPLS VPN and VPLS are 2 technologies meant to address to different needs, L3 VPN as opposed as L2 VPN. Not completely sure how you would compare them in terms of performance. Would you compare the performance of a F1 racing car with a Rally racing car?
    From the ISP point of view there is little difference (if we don't want to consider the specific inherent peculiarities of each technology) , as in the very basic scenarios we can boil down to the following basic operations for both:
    Ingress PE impose 2 labels (at least)
    Core Ps swap top most MPLS label
    Egress PE removes last label exposing underlying packet or frame.
    So whether the LSRs deal with underlying L2 frames or L3 IP packets there is no real difference in terms of performance (actually the P routers don't even notice any difference).
    About simulators, I am not aware of anyone able to simulate a L2 VPN (AtoM or VPLS).

  • What is the differences between viewCriteria query modes?

    Hello all,
    recently we faced a performance issue in a production application. after tracing  we found  that the issue was caused by setting the query mode of the view criteria to in memory.
    bussiness case description:
    when creating a new record for table A, I want to populate one field depending on records in another table B, so I used model driven LOV.
    The problem was that new records were created for both tables in the same ADF train i.e. the data for both tables were not posted or committed yet.
    so by using a query based ViewObject + viewCriteria with query mode set to memory for viewCriteria I managed to populate the LOV with the correct data,
    in another page I will show database records for table A with LOV to show meaningful messages to users ,  but I can as well create new records for table A ,but the loading of this page is very slow.
    tracing:
    using alter session set sql_trace=true; I found that table B is fully scanned and all rows are fetched-180000+ record-.
    Problem description:
    from the trace file generated found that the query issued did not have a where clause.
    also found that the viewObject fetched the entire table into memory- 180000+ record,-  then searched them in memory.
    Solution:
    changing the query mode of the viewCriteria seems to solve the issue
    so in order to avoid such issues in the future ,I wanted to make sure I understand the differences between the query modes of view criteria and their impact on the performance and if there are any differences if the viewObject is based on an entity or a sql dml.
    this is what I know so far -please correct me if I am mistaken-:
    1)database: search the database appending the conditions of the viewCriteria to whatever the query is
    2)memory: search the rows that are already in the memory.
    3)both: search both database and memory.
    also, in case I updated one of the records in the memory but did not yet post or commit will the fetched rows have the updated values? and if these changes fails the condition from the viewCriteria , will the rows be shown?.

    The camera roll contains all the photos and videos taken on your device, as well as any saved on your device from the internet, emails, text messages, etc.  The photo library contains photos synced to your device from your computer.
    Only camera roll photos are synced using iCloud with photo stream.  And photo stream only syncs photos, not videos.

  • Variable Picker generates invalid XPath query

    This one seems to be a bug:
    When declaring a variable of type "element" (not "messageType") and accessing the variable with the Variable Picker from within the assign assistant, i.e. the following line ist generated:
    bpws:getVariableData("testVar","","/tns:TaskMgrTestCaseRequest/tns:input")
    The BPEL process can be validated and deployed without an error.
    At runtime the following exception is generated:
    XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "bpws:getVariableData("testVar", "", "/tns:TaskMgrTestCaseRequest/tns:input")", the reason is XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "", the reason is Unexpected ''.
    Please verify the xpath query.
    Please verify the xpath query.
    When working with variables of type messageType, there is no problem. (So I declared a messageType to each element type ...)

    Thanks for the heads up. We will try to kill this bug in the 0.97 release. -Edwin

  • Use of  "findByMultipleParameters" for   "OR " between two Query Filters

    Hi,
    I am also working in CE7.1 .I have  a query regarding the use of  "findByMultipleParameters" .
    That is how to use "OR " between two Query Filter condition,because if we add multiple queries into Query Filter List it will by default taking "AND " .
    For an example, I have to pull data from a table/BO with a condition col A = 10 OR ( col B > 100 AND col c = "XYZ") .
    My code snippet looks like given below.......
    List queryFilters = new ArrayList();
    QueryFilter queryFilterOne = QueryFilterFactory.createFilter("ROLLUMBER",Condition.EQ, rollNumber);
    QueryFilter queryFilterTwo = QueryFilterFactory.createFilter("NAME",Condition.EQ, "123");
    queryFilters.add(queryFilterOne);
    queryFilters.add(queryFilterTwo);
    List students = studentServiceLocal.findByMultipleParameters(queryFilters, false, "xyz");
    I have tried all these and found all of them deprecated,Please suggest something appropriate.Your quick response will help a lot.
    //queryFilterOne.setAction(QueryFilter.OPERATION_OR);
    //QueryFilterFactory.createBoolOperator(queryFilterOne.OPERATION_OR);
    //queryFilters.add(QueryFilter.OR);
    //queryFilters.add(queryFilterOne.setOperation(QueryFilter.OPERATION_OR));
    My another Query is what is the role of implCheck(Boolean),findByName(String) in "findByMultipleParameters()" ?
    Thanking you for your help in advance.

    Hi Praveen/Harris,
    As Mr Bhanu said , we can get the result by using formula variable defined on attribute with replacement path as processing type.
    There is document in https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/bi
    in infoindex->How to Calculate with attributes
    To findout the difference between formula variable and current date, define one more formula variable with processing as custoemr exit.And fill this variable with sy-datum or something else.

  • How to switch between two query in Web templete.

    Hi all,
      Here i am facing problem to switch between two query in web template by using one 'table' web item. is there any way to use hyperlink 'SAP_BW_URL' and we can switch to query. here i am using these HTML code..
    <table><tr><td class="SAPBEXBtnStdBorder" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"><tr><td>
    <table><tr><td class="sapbexbtnstd" ><A href="<SAP_BW_URL cmd='reset_item' item='table_data' query_ID='ZSD_ZSD_M01_Q20' apply_cmd_on_target= "X">" >Switch to other query</A></td></tr></table>
    but i am not getting correct functionality.
    please help me to solve this problem.
    I know the best way to say thanks in SDN.
    thanks
    Kiran Patel

    Kiran,
      Use the web api reset_data_provider as links or in select option in HTML.
       Onchange event of this select option should call JAVASCRIPT method and
       this in turn resets the current dataprovider to your concerned one.
       How to change graphs:
       The graph item has the default data provider:
       <object>
             <param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>
             <param name="CMD" value="GET_ITEM"/>
             <param name="NAME" value="CHART_1"/>
             <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_CHART"/>
             <param name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DATAPROVIDER_1"/>
             <param name="TMP_CHART_DATA_HANDLE" value="IIP_49MOXB0UVNOMM6JOZMZU7QO21"/>
             ITEM:            CHART_1
       </object>
      So if you change the DATAPROVIDER_1 using RESET_DATA_PROVIDER to your concerned DP, this changes chart as well !!
       Please use this method and refer to sample code for Onchange Event on SELECT OPTION:
      <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <script>
    function callDP() {
         if(document.forms[0].dp.value == "1") {
            //form your URL here..
           url = SAP_BW_URL_Get() + "&CMD=RESET_DATA_PROVIDER&DATA_PROVIDER_1=..&...";
            SAPBWOpenURL(url);
            //or docuemtn.location.href = url..
            //etc..
    </script>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <form>
    <select name="dp" onChange="javascript:callDP();">
    <option value="1">1</option>
    <option value="2">2</option>
    </select>
    </form>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    When there are 'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values, there are additional entries(rows) in the WebI report, giving repeating or wrong entries in the Date field. This is incorrect data.
    Is this because of the  'Not Assigned' or '#' or blank values of the Characteristics or is there any other reason?
    How do I fix this?
    Please helo me with this.

    Hi Rajesh,
    I need to verify the WebI report output for records with # and 'Not assigned' values for the cHracteristics in the report.
    So I cannot check the WebI report by hiding the # or Not assigned values.
    The problem is that in the Query output the records are like these shown below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
    #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)             No value
    Where as the WebI report output is as below:
    Char1                    CHar2                          CHar3                       Date field
    A                             B                                 C                                Date1
    #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)      #(Not assgined)            Date1
    As shown here, there are wrong/repeating entries for the Date field in the WebI report output.
    Please check this and let me know what could be the issue and how do I fix it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srilakshmi B
