Is there a stylus that works to sign names on iPad?

I've tried most of them. My current favorite is BoxWave:

I don't know why it is more comfortable for me, but it is.

If you're going to be using a stylus a lot, think about length (longer versus shorter) and thickness (thinner versus thicker) and weight. These are personal, egonomic choices.
Otherwise, just get what's cheapest!

I have an iq500 and i need a stylus to do more precise selections while working with adobe photoshop. i purchased a cheap aluminum stylus with a narrow plastic tip and it has trouble being sensed by the screen. it would disconnect often while im draging and will not sense at all at the bottom of the screen. it works better if i tilt at an angle for a larger surface area but its very inconvenient.
has anyone found a stylus that will work?
do stylus with buttons work with this?
Should i just get a fatter stylus, or does it have to be a special one, like a magnetic stylus?

Don't use a magnet! You should never put a magnet up to a screen.
You can use almost anything as a stylus because of the way the HP TouchScreen technology works - it uses cameras instead of circuits.
You finger works pretty darn good, but I sometimes like to use the eraser end of new pencil because it keeps the fingerprints down.

It's not that simple. You need a "smart" device to connect a hard drive to, like a Time Capsule, or another computer, or an Airport Extreme/Express that was made to share a drive, or some other brand router that has a USB port for sharing a drive, etc.

I used to have an iPad 2 and i used a Griffin stylus with it and it worked fine on it, i used it to take notes on the iPad. But now i have an iPad mini and the stylus doesnot respond well on it , i have to really press hard to get it to work. Not really, no. The Camera Connection Kit has a USB port for the purpose of importing photos from USB flash drives, and some developers have written apps that can use that port for other purposes, but it doesn't give you a general-purpose USB port as would be present on a standard computer.

Maybe I should just always export from Pages into Word (and likewise for the other types) before I upload to Dropbox? I hope not!!

If you don't want to export files and consider the Microsoft formats to be your basic working format, then you need to consider either using MsOffice for Mac or LibreOffice instead of the iWork suite.
You could always run a virtualised OSX on the Toshiba, but I don't think Apple will appreciate me telling you how to do that.

I no longer have the ability to use my IPad at work as a digital picture frame after the upgrade. This was the main reason I bought a second iPad for my business. Apparently this feature is no longer available. Is there an app that would work the same?

You still have the option of using the slideshow feature in the Photos app. It's not in the lock screen anymore, but it is stll available there.

Am I candidate for QT Pro, or is there something else that will work better

So, I've been playing a bit with some short home video stuff - and now that we actually have some space to burn in iDisk - I would like to start uploading some video to our iWeb sites.
Upon my first attempt of doing such - I was met with a pop-up window in iWeb that told me the file was huge - and I would be best to convert it in QT Pro by way of exporting it. When I tried to do such via the export option - it was greyed out, that is unless I purchase the Pro version.
My question is - do I really need to purchase additional software to do this, and if so - is QT pro the program to go with, or is there something else that will be able to do what I need for the very limited amount of "video" that I plan to do?

Assuming you edited in iLife ,e.g. iMovie you can export to QT formats from there vs. paying for QT Pro, opening and then exporting from QT which will just do the same thing with some more options.
Idea: Open the file in MPEG Streamclip (free) and you can export to various iTunes formats without knowing a thing about exporting and pay zero for the privilege and probably do a better job of it. Use Streamclip version 1.9b3 , export to MPEG-4 and then press the iTunes button and pick a format you like. You will find even the basic to iPod setting at 320X240 will make very good quality videos that upscale to 640X480 well and are nicely small.

I've used Quick Office Pro HD. There is an option within iTunes then to associate documents on your local desktop with the app and then import them.

Not sure about one-note as I have never used it. I have to say that I have not tried the stylus for anything to pointing at the screen and some base sketching (redlining) on a CAD software.
I have to say that I am not impressed. The screen was designed for the finger... =(. the stylus does make things a little but more precise but it is nothing like a the Galaxy note with its special pen or a Wacom.
I am a bit disapointed in that aspect.. Other than that, I love this PC.

Hi, I'm just about to start a Diploma in Photography and I have never used Photoshop before. I need to buy a DSLR camera, Photoshop software and text books so I thought while I'm at it I may as well buy a Tablet too as right now I only have a Laptop. I've seen Photoshop running on a Cintiq Companion with Windows 8.1. The person using it (Peter Eastman) had bought it as his traveling computer, and it seemed to work OK. One thing I wondered about was that he used it exclusively with the stylus (pen) and no mouse, which I think I might have found awkward. but he was doing OK. He also had it hooked up to a projector, so you could use it with a second screen if you so chose.
The Companion is expensive, but is a genuinely useful tool. There are several user reviews on Amazon:
