I've added a color.19.properties community, made additions to the build.xml file, but ant fails...
I get:BUILD FAILEDjava.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Total time: 1 minute 8 secondsjava.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Should I throttle the memory somewhere. I've watched my memory and process, and there is still physical (and virtual) memory left on the machine. There seem to be 2 places that control it for ant/java...

Set this environment variable:

Keynote '09 is compatible with your computer, but you won't get the latest Keynote version running that version. As you have an Early 2008 MacBook, first I recommend you to update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard to get newer versions of all applications but without losing any applications > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make a backup before upgrading.
The DVD contains Mac OS X 10.6.3, so after upgrading, open  > Software Update to update to 10.6.8. Then, you will get access to the App Store.
However, the Keynote version available in the App Store is only compatible with OS X 10.7.5 or newer, so now you have two options:
1. Upgrade to OS X Lion and purchase Keynote from the App Store.
2. Keep Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard, and buy Keynote on a DVD in eBay or Amazon. Note that you won't be running the most recent Keynote version, but it doesn't mind (the latest version only adds iCloud support)

HT1620 Why is it asking me for a pass code and I didn't set one?

Why is it asking me for a pass code and I didn't set one up. This never happen before when I updated to the most recent IOS on my Ipad2?

It is most likely asking for your Apple ID password, but that is just a guess.
Then again as KarenSelena says if someone set a passcode without actually telling you (maybe a Settings -> General -> Restrictions passcode), that might be why you are getting a passcode request.

Straightening and cropping scanned photos...is there a trick for this?

I am scanning a bunch of photos of various sizes/shapes. If I place the photos right up against the edge of the scanner, it crops it. So what I have been doing is eyeballing it a couple of centimeters away from the edge. Naturally it is slightly off as far as being aligned straightly. I have been using transform to adjust the photo so it is straight. Is there any trick within Photoshop to align it according to the images edges?
Also, is there any way to use the wand (to basically select all of a photo) and then crop the selected?

PS. Since the photos are of various sizes I cannot use a holder.

If the scanner is cropping the very edge of the glass off, try putting a piece of white tape down on the glass - maybe a 1/2 inch wide strip exactly parallel to the scanner edge. You can then slide your prints up to that and they will be aligned and within the scannable area.
There are a couple of ways to easily deal with your current crop (pun intended) of scans. The easiest way is to just use the Crop Tool to both crop and rotate at the same time, but make sure that you leave the resolution blank in the crop tool options at the top. The second is to use the Ruler Tool to measure along any of the sides of your scan. That angle will be recorded automatically in the Image>Rotate>Arbitrary dialog, where you can rotate the image back square again. You'll then have to crop it, so you might as well just do it in one fell swoop with the crop tool.

Trick for Pairing Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse With Windows 7 in BC 3.1

My Mac:
Mid-2007 iMac 20", 2.4 GHz; OS X 10.6.2; Windows 7 Home; Boot Camp 3.1
My Problem:
No matter what I tried, including all kinds of tips and tricks found in this forum and elsewhere on the web, I could not get my Apple aluminum bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth Mighty Mouse to pair in Windows 7. Windows 7's bluetooth setup panel would see them, from time to time, but never connected.
The same pair connected quite easily with Snow Leopard, and the keyboard connected before I installed BC 3.1 in Win 7 (never did get the MM to connect in Win 7 with BC 3.0). But with BC 3.1 in Win 7, it was no dice for either one until I made an accidental discovery.
While prepping another Apple bluetooth aluminum keyboard for my wife's Mac Mini, it was seen by my iMac's Win 7, which wanted to pair with it.
Aha! A Big Clue! The Win 7 BC 3.1 generic bluetooth drivers wanted to pair with an aluminum keyboard that wasn't already paired with the iMac. So, I booted back into Snow Leopard, connected a USB mouse and keyboard, renamed the bluetooth mouse and keyboard, and then deleted them. I rebooted back into Win 7, then easily set up both renamed mouse and keyboard which paired quickly with Windows.
Note that I first tried deleting them from the Snow Leopard side first, but Win 7 still wouldn't pair with them. That's when I went back to Snow Leopard and renamed them but didn't pair them with the iMac until it was booted into Win 7.
Finally, I rebooted back into Snow Leopard and paired the keyboard and mouse with OS X. Done.
Hope this trick/tip/hint helps someone else with keyboard and mouse bluetooth pairing problems.

You're welcome. My discovery was quite accidental, but that's often how things happen ... if you're paying attention and are looking for clues.
Sorry you had to trial and error before you succeeded, but as you've probably found, it is necessary to rename the bluetooth devices first, then delete them from OS X.
I don't understand why this trick was necessary, or even what caused it to happen. I've got 6 Win 7 installations via Boot Camp on 6 Intel Macs (2 white MacBooks, 1 Unibody MacBook, a Core Duo Mac Mini, a 27" iMac and the 20" 2.4 Mid-2007 iMac). All were running 10.6.2 and Win 7 (aren't Family Packs wonderful?) via Boot Camp 3.0 more or less without problems, except as noted in my first post.
Only the 20" iMac had problems after the Boot Camp 3.1. Not only did I have a devil of a time pairing the keyboard and mouse, but I also lost the Win 7 activation on the iMac 20" and the OS X partition started showing up as "EFI Boot". All happened right after I updated Boot Camp 3.0 to 3.1 via download from Apple while running Win 7.
I've heard reports of other Mac users discovering Boot Camp had done a FUBAR job on their machines, but this is my first experience. My guess is that there's some dialogue going on between 10.6, Win 7 and Boot Camp that shouldn't be happening. What I really don't understand is why my other 5 Macs didn't have any problems at all with the Boot Camp upgrade to 3.1. Let's hope the Apple Boot Camp team can reverse engineer my discovery and improve the next version of BC.

I dropped my ipod 4 into the toilet. I tried turning it on twice,stupidly. Then put it in rice. Is there any hope for my ipod? and if not is there a way to get all 1500 of my photos? Pleaaase help!!!

Hello i dropped my ipod in the toilet (clean water). Once i took it out of the toilet i pressed the home button and within a second it shut off! :( I quickly dried it with a towel and accidently pressed the top button! D: and put it immediatly into a bag of rice. 3-4 hours passes and i tried to turn it on nothing happened. I honestly tjougjt it would be dry...stupidly! and now its on the rice and has been in there for an hour since the last time i triwd turnong it on. Is there any hope that my ipod will be okay? and if not could it be repaired? How much is it to repair? One more question what will happen to my photos, is there a way i could atleast get my photos?!? Please please please help!!!!!! please!!!

Hey Posada143, You can still try the rice thing, but do not expect much, as roaminggnome has stated. The rice only works if you do it ASAP and leave the iPod off-- do not attempt use, turn on or charge until it is completely dried out. This is probably academic at this point but remember this for the next time: The drying can take 10 days. You put the uncooked rice and iPod in a sealed bag, change the rice every couple of days. This creates a low humidity environment and draws the moisture out of the iPod, but it takes time. Turn your iPod on to earlier, and you run the risk of shorting out, damaging the components inside. Even if done correctly it can spotty. If you do get the iPod to work (and this may require Resetting, Restoring or attempting to place it in DFU recover mode) the first thing you do is make backups, because you never know how long it will continue to work. As for your pictures, if you can't get your iPod to work, you can try data retrieval companies, however; there is no guaranty it will work and it tends to be very expensive. In the future get in the habit of as making backups, because you just don't know. And invest in and use a water tight case. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

Okay, I'm brand new at this. Last week I created a playlist in itunes, and after syncing my phone, transferred the songs to my iphone.
Today I created a second playlist and did the same thing, however, now the songs from the first playlist are not in the library. Did I do something wrong? How do I fix this so it doesn't happen again?

You are welcome. My iPhone was my first Apple product as well.
Just have to remember a "sync" is just that. Making them "match/sync"
When you plug phone in, the settings that come up for syncing options for the iPhone will show what is currently set (mirrored/matched/synced/what ever you want to name it). So changing settings mean change what is on phone.
While many say Apple is great at making things so user friendly and clear, I personally feel that is true IF you try to think the way they think. Sometimes things are as clear and as for iTunes...well I think it is a huge piece of bloat that has gone beyond what it was originally intended, but that is getting off topic.

One way i know that use NSURLConnection and get XML response and prase it and use it like that.

NSURLConnection is straightforward to use. In the mobile world, and especially if you intend to use certain google APIs, I would rather tend to use JSON instead of XML. A great JSON parser for objective-c is here: http://code.google.com/p/json-framework/

forward code. I've found some in a book called "J2EE Applications and BEA
Weblogic Server" (the white book with the race car on the front) but that
code is deprecated and for wls 6.1. I would like to find something as
straight forward as they have in their security section.

Batch Export Trick for Logic using Markers and XLD

I've always wanted apple to implement batch export of multiple audio files from logic using markers as delimiters. So you can mix a concert and export it in one go without having to hang around and re-start bouncing for each track.
Now you can do this (albeit in a two step process) using Logic 9.1 and the free and wonderful XLD!
Just place markers in your project and bounce as AIFF (this is the only format that seems to work with this, so you are out of luck if your bounce file is going to be larger than 2GB). I suggest placing a marker at the very beginning of the project too so you first file is not called "Timestamp_0" or some such thing. You can even name the markers with the name you want each file to have, though keep in mind files will sort alphabetically of course once they are split if you have a specific order - so maybe preface them with 01, 02, 03, etc etc.
OK - now go get XLD (the GUI version):

download, install and run it. No window will appear at first. Open the preferences and choose your desired output format and options, directory, etc
drop the AIFF file onto XLD (I've put XLD into my Finder window toolbar for easy access). When it asks you to open the embedded cue sheet, say "OK" and your markers should appear as a list of CD tracks that you can play double click to play with a player interface and preview.
Then press "Decode" and voila! All your markers as separate audio files with the marker name, in whatever format (including the multiple formats option) you set XLD for.
You can even edit metadata at this stage (but first consider whether your output format supports it)
Some of the formats XLD can produce are
AIFF
WAV
Apple Lossless (saves some space!)
FLAC
AAC
MP3
OGG
etc etc
Personally I think this is an absolutely fantastic trick and am happy to have discovered it. Hope it helps you too.

Also, if you have gaps in the original session, put a marker at the end of the previous section and call it something like "end". Then you can uncheck all the "end" 'tracks' in the cue sheet and they wont be exported in XLD.
Oh and it also seems XLD will preface your marker delimited files with their 'CD track' number. Useful to keep them in order, but they will probably want to be changed if you have gaps you took out with extra "end" markers.

Never mind. After testing with my android tablet I found it was the headphones. They are Bose QC 15. The original battery was running down but work great yesterday. An iCloud email account is accessed with the iPhone's Mail app as an IMAP account. Contacts are synced with the Contacts app on your iPhone, calendar events are synced with the Calendar app, and notes are synced with the Notes app, etc.
On your desktop, you can add a bookmark with your browser and/or add a webclip to your Desktop for the website if you plan on accessing the account via webmail, or the email account can be created/accessed as an IMAP account with an email client on your computer.
