Is there a tutorial on how to make a 3D looking eBook cover?

Hi,
I want to design a 3D eBook for my website - I have tried with results a six year old would be ashamed of!
Does anyone know of a tutorial that would help with the techniques required?

Hi there!
I'm very new to app development and i've been playing around with designing a few. I wanted to know, how can you create a long press menu appear when pressing and holding on a table item. Id like it to pull up a menu with 3 options, each leading to its own view depending on what one is selected.
Is there a decent tutorial out there for a beginner? I'm using the newest xCode with storyboard and all the tutorials i found are for older xCode versions.

Simple introduction/tutorial on how to make Cocoa-Applescript Applets?

I'm looking for a simple tutorial on how to make Cocoa-Applescript Applets. I'm pretty new to Applescript, but fairly good at it, and I was wondering how Cocoa-Applescript Applets worked. I was curious as I've been wondering if it was possible to somehow display images in Applescript, and it apparently is the only/easiest way. My problem is that I haven't been able to find any tutorials on using it, so I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction, that'd be great!

The main difference is with how the Cocoa APIs are used - in addition to the AppleScript and AppleScriptObjC release notes, there are some examples and resources at Mac OS X Automation. Note that in Yosemite, AppleScriptObjC is available to all scripts, not just applets and libraries.

Need advice on how to make my website look better!

ive made a website for a security company but im just not 100% happy with it, i dont know if it doesnt look professional enough or things need changing design wise. i am open to any ideas on how to make my website look better, i also dont mind if anyone wants to dramtically change it if their idea is better. I would just very much appreciate a review and constructive critisism and ideas for a newly designed version of the site please!

As a novice, some things I see: The footer has redundant, unecessary images (4 large images-for your services--REDUNDANT) odd? The text part of footer: text seems close, scrunched, have some space between heading and items, DO NOT CENTER TEXT!,
One of the service links bought to page with SAME LARGE image on homepage-change picture, don't use same large image for 2 different pages.
DO NOT use CONTACT US as 1 of 5 links on menubar. Do in another creative way, and/or use footer for contact. I think this looks amateurish (my opinion of course).
If I remember, the homepage and the rest of site, have exact same page structure.--See if you can atleast change the structure of inner pages versus the homepage.

each of your services should be a main menu link on your menubar. I would not put contact us on menubar, and you also had another menubar link with no dropdown( of course ok, but maybe could restructure)--Also your last service (on right of menubar)---why is that one different, and not included with the other services??
Seems like your menubar (items) structure could be reworked.--I would suggest, briefly looking at, to maybe have each service as a primary menu heading/title..YOU MAY NOT NEED A DROPDOWN MENU? Make sure if dropdown it is necessary.

Ok, I have read discussions in the Support Communities, looked on iTunes Help and I think my brain is going to explode. I need a simple (for dummies) tutorial on how to create a smart playlist with 'conditions' and Live Updating. For example: instead of going through my Library music list and unchecking all my Christmas music and all my Comedy stuff so it won't play year round and at innapropriate times and having to skip them manually when playing on my ipod touch or my iphone4 in my car or through headphones or home sharing and using my AppleTV.
Also, if my comedy is individually all unchecked (in my iTunes Library), and I have a regular playlist in my ipod and one in my iphone (titled Comedy), when I go to the playlist list in my ipod or phone (when not connected to my Mac), and select shuffle: will that playlist play all the way through even though they are all unchecked?
AND, if I have 'sync only checked songs and video' box UNCHECKED in my summary page for a device what exactly does that do? Or more precisely, WHY would I want or not want that box to be checked?
I really hope someone can help me as I am a complete idiot when it comes to understanding long explanations.

If the box is unchecked, it won't do anything. It will sync everything.
If it is checked, songs that are unchecked will nto get sync'd to the iPod.

Select all the Christmas stuff, right click - get info.
Set the sure the Genre is Christmas.
Go to the Info tab and set Skip when Shuffling to Yes.
Do the same for Comedy.
Create a new smart playlist (named My Music or something similar).
Match all rules;
Genre is not Christmas.
Genre is not Comedy.
Play this playlist on the iPod/iTunes to listen to everything except Christmas & Comedy.
Or if you have Shuffle turned on, just listen to anything and Christmas & Comedy will get skipped.

It depends.
In iTunes, unchecked items will get skipped.
If unchecekd items get sync'd to the iPod (you do NOT have Sync only cheked items ticked), they will play unless you have them set to Skip when shuffling.

Publishing .index Vs .swf How to make my file look like the .swf Question

When I view this site the image is not centered and when I expand it in different browers it does not look good.
When I view the site by looking at it through the exact location of where I have the flash, for example www.mysite.com/index.swf It's exactly how I want it to look.
Is there a code I can put into the html where I can have the same look as the .swf but view it with the .index.html
For example when I am testing the .swf extension and change the size of the browers or expand it, the flash movie is always centered and looks great in every brower.
I was thinking of changing the domains link to the .swf file to solve the issue, but is by having the .html extension provide greater serach information. What is it nessary?

You seem to be confusing the .swf file with the Web page that the .swf file goes on. For Internet delivery you want the index.html web page.
You can "Publish" the page directly from Flash. Under the "File" menu, look for Publish Settings and review ALL the options before "Publishing" the swf.
If you don't understand them, Google for that specific option.
Also review "Flash scaling"
Here are examples of different scaling parameters available in the Publish settings. You can also add these parameters directly in the html (<param name="scale" value="noscale"). All the examples replace the actual Flash dimensions with 100% for both width and height (width="100%" height="100%"). These examples use the old <object> and <embed> to illustrate the different ways to scale Flash. Once you understand how it works I’d recommend that you use swfobject to place the Flash in your final project.

The trickiest part of trying to go full screen is that it’s difficult to make the Flash wider without making it taller also, that is, to maintain the correct proportions or aspect ratio of everything on the stage. These methods are just simple scaling accomplished with html. There are also methods to dynamically scale the stage and it’s elements using Actionscript… but that’s a much more complex undertaking.

How to make new Firefox look like old Firefox?

I was looking at the new version of Firefox and really don't like how it looks. If I update to it is there a way to make Firefox look like the old one? 3.6.24 is the version I'm using now, and I really like how it looks.

To restore the old appearance right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar context menu or use (F10) View > Toolbars.
* Click the Menu Bar entry and place a check-mark to make the Menu Bar visible all the time (Windows and Linux).
* Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.

I'm a newbie at photoshop and I've recently started learning to run this blog that I create called Cultural Facts of the Day.
I am developing a graphic style for some of the stories that I post and I'm looking for advice on how to better some of the images on text. I have this one photo I am working on now. I'm using a Futura and gothic text, but I'm looking for inspiration or a tutorial on how to optimize text lay out on an image like this. How to make my websites look good in iPhone and iPad?

I have problem to make my website in iWeb look good in webbrowsers in iPhone or iPad... The background (JPEG-file)are dublicating several times!

That's the way Mobile Safari handles backgrounds.
Why not use a normal background with proper text boxes.
Anyway, remove your background in iWeb and paste this code in a HTML Snippet :

How to make firefox 20 look like 3.6

Everytime I upgrade Firefox I hate the user interface and I keep downgrading to version 3.6.28. Can Mozilla either make a version of the latest version with the 3.6 interface, a 3.6 interface option or go back to updating 3.6. For me the user interface is the most important thing and I HATE the interfaces since 4 and on. For the few websites (mostly video) that don't work on my firefox 3.6 I use Opera and sometimes run two browsers at the same time. Can you please make a 3.6 option. There is a reason why nearly 2.5% of us haven't switched yet as after this I will be downgrading

I did that before writing this, the reason I wrote this is because that wasn't good. All it does it gives a few of the superficial things. What I want is the full 3.6 .28 interface, so it will feel like 3.6.28. There is a reason so many resisted upgrading from this version, and still downgrade. Why doesn't firefox just make a version of each firefox version that has the 3.6 interface and feel. Like with the new 25, one version with the 25 interface and feel, and one with the 3.6. But until that comes I just want a way to make other versions of firefox look and feel like 3.6, not just a few minor settings, but the whole look and feel (and not that stupid "firefox 3" mod that can be downloaded, doesn't work well and its regular 3, not 3.6. Websites are no longer working with 3.6 and some will stop soon. I have started switching to Opera, which gives way more options for customization and interface, even though it doesn't run as smooth. Is there any way to get firefox later versions to look and feel like 3.6

If I crop a part of a video and want to make the crop looks like a camera zoom... is there a "zoom transition" to put before and after the crop part? Million thanks if someone can solve this technical question...

Let's zoom in.
Select the clip and move the playhead to where you want the zoom to start in the timeline.
Activate the Crop function Shift-C and selec the middle crop function in the top left.
Press the keyframe button.
Move the playhead to where you want the zoom to end.
Crop and reposition the selection as you like in the viewer.
Click Done.
