This is just a shot in the dark....
Do you have all your devices hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE? For example -- your camera or digitizer? When FMLE launches it will try to launch with the last known settings... including input devices. If it can't find these devices (they're not hooked up and on) it can crash, although in most situations it will simply show a default screen with default settings.
If you do have your equipment hooked up (and on) when you launch FMLE, try unplugging them and then launching FMLE so that it opens up in default configuration mode (no input devices selected; all default settings). Then uncheck the "preview" boxes for both your input and output preview windows. Close FMLE and then plug in your equipment (and turn it on) and relaunch FMLE. I offer this suggestion as FMLE can sometimes act funny when the preview windows are open with certain types of input devices. Don't worry -- you don't have to keep the preview windows off forever. If you can get FMLE to successfully launch with the preview windows off, then you can set your settings however you like and save the profile. Then quit and relaunch FMLE and then turn the preview windows back on and see if it works. If it does, great. Just be aware that making any settings changes while the preview windows are open could result in FMLE crashing. Again -- this only happens with some capture devices, such as certain Dazzle capture boxes.
If none of this works, you could always try to upgrade to FMLE 3.2 and see if that solves your problem.

I have the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 disc and want to install onto my Mac OSX Tiger. But before doing install, really would like some information as to whether I will be able to still use my older Adobe Photoshop CS on SL. I have read a few discussions here, and noticed someone suggesting to install Rosetta. Will this be necessary?

Well, the install or rather no install was a disaster!
Going the Over Tiger without erase/install resulted in a nightmare scenario. When I put the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 disc in, it started and began installation up to about three minutes and than stopped... The Installer Failed. Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer... click restart to restart your computer and try installing again.
When I clicked restart, it tried to reinstall but I wanted to just return to my tiger disc. Somehow something happened that caused the computer to suddenly just shut down and left my Snow Leopard disc in my drive. So, looking at a black screen, I attempted to restart but it kept shutting down never going beyond the white screen. Then I tried to remove the disc, but nothing happened until I figured out to hold down the eject key while pressing the power button on the back and than releasing. Anyway, the disc ejected. So than I had to reinstall my actual startup discs, do a disk utility and sure enough I had a hard drive error.
Anyway, after two hours of reinstalling my Tiger operating system 10.4 I'm now looking at a very clean system. Now not sure what to do next regarding attempt with Snow Leopard.
I noticed that once I did some software updates what was 232 free space is now down to 216.75 GB. Is this enough free space to install SL?
Really feeling defeated. Scared about trying another attempt. Have my external still unplugged plus printer stuff.
If I start again, what exactly should I do to prevent another disaster. When I install SL should I do another disk utility to check for any errors on the SL disc?

I'm trying to buy a digital video camera, and am under the impression that an internal HD is the best option; however, it seems there a lot of compatibility issues with downloading the files into imovie on my mac.
I know nothing about video cameras or editing, or imovie for that matter. Trying to learn about the different formats and what's best, (and what all the abbreviations mean) is simply info overload.

miniDV - that is a type of casette, and a type of technical way to record video, you will read on this board often phrases as "encoded as dv" or "dv stream" ... iMovies uses this same code/format.. so, you can copy back&forth from/to tape and Mac.. => no loss of quality, it is a digital copy...!

"fw", an Apple invention, Sony lingo: "iLink", tech word "IEE1394", in user manuals called "dv-out" and "dv-in"; connects via a socalled 4/6 pin fw cable (some manufacturers do NOT supply the cardboxes, ask your dealer for it); it is NOT only a cable, but a (tech bubble following!) protocol - it allows a remote control of ANY miniDV cam by your Mac...
the actual v6 of iM supports miniDV (and Digital8, older format...) ONLY
if your wallet is big enough, consider miniDV in HiDef (to my regrets also abrv. "HD") => actually NO consumer HiDef disk format supported, as BluRay = you can store HiDef projects only back to tape...
harddrive/DVD/miniDVD/flashmem/solid state cameras => NOT supported by the consumer apps ....

No, not without upgrading to a higher version of the Mac OS. However, the easiest thing to do is get another browser for use with sites that don't like older versions of Saari. I always have a secondary browser on any computer, Mac or PC. For our Macs, I install FireFiox alongside Safari when setting up a new computer.
As FireFox is updated sometimes weekly, YouTube should not have a problem with it.

- The 2G iPod can only go as high as iOS 4.2.1. It does not have the hardware to support a higher iOS version.
- Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.
- You can only download the current version from the App store.

I understand that time marches on, and I'll miss out on newer apps and features, but there really should be a way to get the latest app that is available for your specific IOS.
