Is there a version of XCode for windows?

I am a big developer in android and windows apps. And looking to get involved in iOS app dev.
I dont own a Mac, so is there a vesrion of XCode for windows?
Or is a virtual machine my only option?

This from the Lion EULA:
"2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.
A. Standard and Preinstalled Apple Software License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this
License, unless you obtained the Apple Software from the Mac App Store, on Apple-branded
physical media (e.g., on an Apple-branded USB memory stick) or under a volume license,
maintenance or other written agreement from Apple, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive license
to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at
any one time. For example, these standard single-copy license terms apply to you if you obtained the
Apple Software preinstalled on Apple-branded hardware."

  • Is there a version of Safari for WINDOWS later than 5.7?

I have a Dell XPS 1 which on which I run Windows 7. I have always used Safari as my OS. I am receiving emails which indicate that my version of Safari 5.7 is no longer supported by gmail. I can't find any version of Safari later than 5.7 which is for WINDOWS. Can you please advise? Thanks.

5.1.7 is the most recent: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1531
    Last update was in 2012.
I am an Apple guy. The only windows machine I use belongs to my employer. But honestly, Safari for Windows is a dog. You need to find another browser. A newer version of IE should work well with Gmail, and of course there is always Chrome or FireFox.

  • Will apple release Xcode for windows

I have recently tried to get the iOS SDK just to find that Xcode is only availible on the Mac App Store. I am running windows and I dont want to use some 3rd party compiler to develop. I also know that it is not possible to legally run OS X on a Windows PC either by dual booting or running a VM. Does anyone know is apple are planning on releasing a version of Xcode for windows or if i will have to buy a mac or use a 3rd party SDK.

If you're planning on submitting apps to the Mac App Store or the iTunes App Store, you'll need a Mac.

  • I just downloaded the latest version of itunes for Windows and now itunes crashes every time i launch it

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it.  I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck.  Any suggestions?
    thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • 64-bit version of Quicktime for Windows

I'm running 64-bit version of Windows 7 via bootcamp.  I'm running 64-bit version of Microsoft Office 2010.  I have the latest version of Quicktime installed 7.7.3 something.  I can play the file on the desktop no problem, but when I try to insert the file into Powerpoint or play a file that I inserted previously into Powerpoint on a different system, it says either Quicktime unavailable or you need a 64-bit version of Quicktime in order to insert the file.
So, exactly where is a 64-bit version of Quicktime for Windows because apparently the one on the Apple website for Windows is not 64-bit.  Everyone keeps saying download the 64-bit version of Quicktime.  Great, tell me where it is.  There is no option for 64-bit on the website.  It doesn't even say it is 64-bit.  It just says its compatible with Windows 7.  Powerpoint 2010 64-bit MUST have a 64-bit version of Quicktime in order to insert or play any Quicktime file.  The OS doesn't give a rats @ss one way or the other.
The file I previously inserted was playing on a system that apparently had a 32-bit version of Powerpoint installed.  That machine defaults to VLC player on the desktop.  It has no issues with the file.  It's the Quicktime Player mismatch on my machine that is giving me grief.  If I knew Office was going to be a PITA if I installed the 64-bit version I would have stuck with the 32-bit version.
Ideas?  Where is the 64-bit version?  How do you tell it is 64-bit?  How do you force the installer to make sure it ONLY installs a 64-bit version of it?

If Microsoft merely off their own decided that only a 64-bit version of QuickTime was going to be supported by them and did not both checking such a beast existed then this is perfectly believable behavior on the part of Microsoft and they should roast in **** for it.
If Apple led Microsoft to believe that a 64-bit version of QuickTime was going to be released like a 64-bit version of iTunes for Windows has been released but then backed out then this is equally believeable behaviour on the part of Apple and then equally the guilty parties at Apple should roast in ****.
It should be noted that the 64-bit version of iTunes is able to play videos via the 32-bit version of QuickTime. This suggests Microsoft programmers are weak with the force. This would tend to support my theory that Microsoft despite being the biggest software company in the world are better at making hardware than software.
Moving on to trying to be more constructive…
Clearly as things stand using the existing and only official version of QuickTime for Windows which is 32-bit only is not going to work in 64-bit Office. It might therefore be worth looking at trying the following.
Uninstall completely Apple's 32-bit QuickTime for Windows (if installed currently)
Install QuickTime Alternative - see http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm
I have no idea if QuickTime Alternative is 64-bit, I have no idea if it will work in 64-bit Office even if it is 64-bit. However it does work in Internet Explorer for Windows, it is free and therefore will cost you nothing to try. If it does not work you can then always uninstall it.
As another even more abtruse solution, you could try loading your PowerPoint file in to the free iWorks i.e. KeyNote via a free iCloud account. It will allow importing PowerPoint files and will even work in Internet Explorer.

  • Is there a version of itunes for win98se ?

is there a version of itunes for win98se ? i have an older machine that id like to put songs on my ipod nano rather than having to transfer them by diskette. [email protected]

iTunes for Windows was first introduced for Windows 2000 so there isn't a version that works natively with either 98 or ME. You could have a look at XPlay, Anapod or Ephpod which will work with Windows 98/ME. However XPlay and Anapod are commercial programs so you might consider it worth the extra expense to upgrade to XP (which you may find at a discount price now that Vista is out) if your computer will run it. Staying with 98/ME, you may also require drivers, there is a link in the Anapod page to suitable iPod/USB drivers:

  • Latest version of iTunes for Windows crashing

I've updated to latest version of iTunes for Windows today, and have up to date Windows 7. iTunes is closing down after about a minute, Windows just says iTunes has a problem. Never had a problem before. Is this a known error?

See iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Can someone help me with installing the latest version of iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium?

Latest version of iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium downloads just fine.  But, fails to install.
"Unblocked and gave all permissions."  Still, no go.
I see by reading the other posts on this forum that I am not alone.  Any help?
    Frustrated!

Ok...This was very odd.  I left the installation program, in what I considered a frozen state on screen.  After about 30 mins, to my surprise, It installed!  I'm not computer literate, so, I don't know what to say.  But, to just WAIT for it to respond!  Good Luck!

  • How can I make the newest version of iTunes for Windows run faster?

I know I'm not the only one when I say that iTunes is by far one of the slowest programs on my computer.  I'm running Windows 7 and running the most recent version of iTunes for Windows.  Does anyone have some tips to make it run faster and smoother?  I have Genius and Ping disabled, but I'm not quite sure what else I can do.

The newest version of iTunes should install if you are runnig 10.7.
Do you get any error messages?
