Is there a version that uploads 'some' instead of 'all' photos?

I choose Image Capture because I can upload just a few photos, instead of all of them. Does iPhoto offer this? If so, it is a free upgrade? And is it compatible with OS 10.4?

Yes, with iPhoto 7, from iLife '08, you can select the files before you import them. The upgrade is not free, but it will upgrade iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and the other iLife applications. Yes, it is compatible with Tiger, as long as you update all the way to 10.4.11. Read the [System Requirements|http://www.apple.com/ilife/systemrequirements.html] to make sure your Mac meets all of them.
You can already choose your uploads in iPhoto 6, provided your camera mounts on the Desktop. If it doesn't, then place the camera's media card into a USB card reader. Ignore iPhoto's initial Import screen, and choose File > Import to Library. Navigate to the camera card on the Desktop, select all the files you want, and import them into your iPhoto Library.

Has the photoshop elements 12 serial number issue been fixed? is there a version that works?

I bought a new in the box photoshop elements 12 just before christmas new in the box from Amazon. I tried to install but it said the serial number was invalid. I talked to help staff for hours and could not get it to work. Did this issue ever get fixed? Is there a version of photoshop elements that will work? By work I mean when you enter the serial number on the package that you can install and the serial number will work. I am replacing photoshop elements 7 which says I have installed it too many times.

I want to update my imac software to a version that uploads the icloud icon in preferences. Which version do I need and how do I force my imac to update that software.

I am currently running OSX 10.6.8. this version does not have the icloud icon in system preferences. How do I do a forced software update to a version that allows icloud operations. To qualify I have done a number of software updates using the software update dropdown but it does not find the most recent software like mountain Lion or Mavericks etc. Why? surely if I am asking the computer to find the most recent software it would tel me that I am running an out of date software level?

When you run Software Updates from the Apple Menu, it looks for software to update for your current operating system. The first version of Mac OS X to have iCloud functionality built into the System Preferences was Mac OS X Lion 10.7. The current version of Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 is available in the Mac App Store that you can access from the Apple Menu and it is free. Please be sure to check the system requirements to make sure your computer can support the software before downloading and installing. HT4341 I will be traveling to The Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg in May. I want to take my MacBook Pro, 1st generation iPad and iPhone 4G. Is there one charger that I can take for all devices, as opposed to taking three different chargers?

I obviously have three different chargers, I guess my question is, can I use just one of those chargers for all three devices, and if so, which one of the three, or does it matter? And if I can in fact use just one of the three, then why would I need all three in the US? Also, if one of the three will work on all devices, would the automotive charger work the same, one for all? If I reset my iphone (errase data and settings) is there any program that can recover information or deleted photos?

I'm asking this beacuase I want to sell my iphone 4 and before I will errase it, but I want to ensure that the next user will not be able to have acces o recover information such as deleted photos from my phone, I know there are programs that recover deleted stuff from your iphone but do they work after errasing it completely?

I'm not sure how flash storage works, but there's usually a very decent way of making sure no one accesses your data: first, erase your phone. After that, fill it with crap - you can use iTunes or whatever, and just either fill it with rubish images, or better yet videos (that you don't mind anyone recovering later). Then erase it again. If someone runs a recover data program on it, they will only find the last data you inserted.
Make sure to completely fill the iPhones available space with crap.
If you are really nervous - again, not sure if this is necessary for flash storage - but you can repeat this process a couple more times (erase and fill with crap), just to make sure. One time should be fine, though.

Apple left artist behind years ago. Why are these new mobile apps only available in ios? I use a much more sophisticated tablet than your dad's iPad. My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has over 1,000 points of pressure sensitivity and was built with Wacom technology for artist, yet the premiere artist programs only release these mobile apps in the apple app format???
Even the Adobe evangelist use windows based operating systems in 90% of the videos I watch on;line, so why are we still pretending Apple is the only platform that matters, while leaving many serious artist out in the cold? Get these apps on the Google Play store ASAP, please.

I agree! My Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is amazing! The Wacom technology that been built into it is amazing. I saddens mute than words can say when Adobe took all their touch apps out of the Play Store and stopped working on the android versions. I must say the other I went to take a photo with an iPad and I saw so disappointed that all is did was snap a photo. I guess I'm spoiled with all the amazing things my galaxy can do while in the built in standard photography mode. You IOS people are really missing out on a great thing here! Just go and try to play with one either in the air or with a friend's tablet. I guarantee you will be blown away!

Is there an update that addresses the different rending in photos between Library & Dev modules?

The changes that I have made in the Development module are not reflected in the rendering of the photo in the Library module. Is there an update or guidance that addresses this difference in rendering?

What differences are you seeing?
There is a slight difference in the way sharpening and noise reduction are shown. Briefly: in Develop Module, sharpening and noise reduction may not always be fully rendered except at 100% view (this, I understand, is to save rendering time - you can't judge sharpening and noise reduction except at 100% anyway). They are shown in Library Module, as they need to be rendered only once between edits (and the rendering is saved in the previews).
If you are seeing any other difference - especially a difference in colour - that may indicate a problem with your monitor profile.
Is your monitor calibrated and profiled - with a hardware tool (ColorMunki, Spyder etc)?

Iphoto not uploading to Web Gallery - all photos "pending"

I added some more photos to my existing Web Gallery folders, plus created a new one by dragging them into the Web Gallery folders. However, they all appear as "pending" and are not appearing on the web. I've stopped / restarted Iphoto and my Macbook. I've tried removing and adding other photos to the galleries. I've moved the "com.apple.iPhoto.plist" and "com.apple.iPhoto" files to the desktop as suggested in another post. None of these have worked.

Yes, and the icons next to the web gallery names alternate between an arrow that goes round in circles, something that looks like a pie-chart / clock, and one that looks like a wireless transmission icon. Hope you know what I mean.
When I open the web gallery page nothing has changed. I even left it going overnight.

How to use Lightroom from iMac and Macbook Air so that I can edit any/all photos in my catalog?

I have lightroom catalog setup on my desktop (iMac). But, I would like to edit photos from my new MacBook Air when I have the free time. How do I set this up so that any edits done on my laptop sync with my desktop catalog?

In the future you might look into an external FW hard drive from which you can operate the library. Then, if you need to move it to another machine just unplug the drive and and plug it in to the other Mac. For the MacBook Air you'd probably want a small (physical size) buss powered drive that would be an easy travel mate.
For future projects, particularly books, consider creating a separate library for it. You can assemble the photos you want in it in an album in your primary library and use iPhoto Library Manager to copy that album to the project library. They are often small enough that then can be copied to a flash drive for transfer to other Macs.

Forgive me if this question shows my ignorance but is there a version that can be installed that works with wm6.5? When I visit web pages on my device that have embedded flash content I am advised that I need to update my version of flash player but the link takes me to an Adobe page that doesn't seem to have a version that will work for my device.

I've been reading lately about Apple's ongoing battle with Adobe over mobile apps and Flash. What I've gotten from all of it is that Apple wants to develop a mobile format replacement to Flash, and Adobe wants to block it. Apple's contention is that Flash is too bulky and consumptive for mobile apps and content. Apple has barred any mobile apps for iPhone and iPad from containing any Flash code, and Adobe says that has hurt their development of SDKs for people who want to make iPhone apps. It's turned into a regular peeing contest.
I would have to assume that Apple iPhone, DROID, and Windows Mobile all have the same issue with Flash content and software, since they all have to fall within the standards for mobile communications in order to be "universally accessible" by all the companies that make PDAs, tablets, and phones.
I've yet to see a Flash Player download for Windows Mobile, and given the current environment, with HTML 5 coming soon, it's not likely I will.

I downloaded firefox 4 but it says it is not compatible with OS10.4.11. Is there a version that I can download that will work on My MacBook.

I am receiving email messages from other than Mozilla, which indicate a version 7 of Foxfire is available. However, after reading some of the comments on the Mozilla site, I am wondering about the reliability of the new version, or if the information is correct. Since Foxfire is my preferred browser (after being forced to begin using Windows 7), I would hate to screw up what works with an untested version of the program. I do not want a Beta version - I only want those versions that have the deadly bugs all worked out so I don't have major interruptions in using my computer and the internet.

When there is call on Lync IM, instead of user name SIP address is displayed.

Lync: User name of instant message.
When there is call on Lync IM, instead of user name SIP address（[email protected]） is displayed on Office365.
In February I was guided that it was temporary problem, however again there is problem that SIP address is displaying all the time.
Inquiry content are mentioned in separate sheet ■SIP address is displayed when IM is called, is it specific, however if one can view user name, Let me know the best way and please confirm this.

Is there an application that has some sort of on screen dancer that will dance when you play your music or something similar? Thought it would be neat.

Don't know about the dancer.
When activated in Settings, the Nike + iPod application appears on the Home screen (iPhone 3G S only). You still need the Nike + iPod Sensor (sold separately). http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#nike-ipod.activating-nike-ipod
